Where is the snow?

Another slow day. Another day went by without a single call. Got up this morning, ate breakfast and read the paper. Got into uniform and sat around and waited. Help my dad put a bookcase together and get it back into our office/game room. Then got on the computer and played some "Battleship" Went off duty at 4:00 and took a shower at 4:30. Called around to people to let them know that class was cancelled for tonight due to the snow. Then ate dinner, and just finished watching "That's 70's Show". Gonna be online for a while, checking my email and surfing the internet. Hopefully it will be a quiet night and if people do drive on the roads tonight, drive safely. Oh well another boring snowy day.

AND THEIR FOUR WIDE ON THE BACK STRETCH!!

Well another slow night. Nothing last night. Quiet, Quiet, Quiet. Got off of the computer around 12:45 and layed in bed and read until about 1:30, then went to sleep... or tried to. Did not get to sleep until about 2:20 -2:30, worrying weather or not amanda had made it home ok. I guess she did. Got up this morning, took a shower and had breakfast, then got ready for church. Went to church with my mother and met my brother and grandparents at church. After church me and my mother went to Giant and I ran inside to pick up a few things. While I was there I ran into Dohn and Carol. Came home, ate lunch and played on the computer until around 2:00, then got off to go watch the race. Boy what a race, a lot of lead changes and leaders. Hendrick engines did not have a good day. Only car left running at the end of the day was Jimmie Johnson's car. Greg Biffle won. Oh well nice race anyway. Checking the email now and gonna be online for awhile. Then have to get some rest and get ready for all of this BIG SNOW coming tomarrow.

Day off

Today was my day off again. Had a little time to unwind from last nights events. Got up this morning, ate breakfast, read the paper, then outside to work on the driveway. Cleaned off both my car and my mothers, then shoveled the driveway. I could have used the snow blower if I wanted, but the snow was not that deep and I could alsways use the exercise, so I shoveled. Only took me 1 hour. Came in, took a shower, then headed into town. Stopped at Giant and picked up some ice tea, then went to Shell and took my car through the automatic car wash. After that went to the station, to do my paperwork from last nights accident call. Came home and relax a little. Getting ready to eat dinner, then check my email. After that I am going to surf the internet and continue to check the email. Probally going to stay up until midnight or later, then have to hit the sack. Pulling another 24 tomarrow.

Snow on roads + stupid drivers = accidents

Snow, Snow, Snow. It makes stuff look beautiful and all sorts. But put it on the roads and all hell breaks lose. Now where was I. Oh yes. All hell breaks lose. It is now 9:57 and I just got back from taking a lady down from an accident at the base of the mountain. It has been crazy
We had a call this morning for an accident on the Clarks Ferry bridge, but we got cancelled on that one. Then comes 4:00. It started with an accident on Amrstrong Valley Road at Kissinger Road. Two vehicle, two patients. Dohn dropped Carol off at the scene and continued into the station to pick up 13-1. My dad did the same thing with me, dropped me of at the scene, then went in for 13-2. Williamstown's 24-1 was on their way down and offered to take our one patient. I was a little unpleased with that since we had both of our units responding. Oh well. So my dad and me took the unit back to the house since we were the only ambulance left in upper county. Sat down to eat dinner when we got tapped out for a car that flipped over at the base of the mountain. Took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. The roads were a fucking mess. Pendot needs there ass kicked for not doing a good job. Oh well. I am home safe now, gonna hit the email, then the sack. Everyone drive safe tomarrow.

EMS to Millersburg for a 302

Thought it was going to turn out to be another slow day, but alas I was wrong. Got up this morning and most of the snow was already gone. Got in uniform and had breakfast. Read the paper and then went into town to mail a package. Stopped at the station and dropped of some pictures and picked up a bill I had to run up to Eville. Dropped off the package, then went to Sheetz and got gas, then headed down to Giant to pick up a few things. Took the food home and dropped it off, then headed up to Eville. Dropped the bill off and came home and had lunch and got on the computer to play. At 14:02 hours we got tapped out for Millerbsurg to assist the police with a 302. Went up there and took the lady over to Holy Spirit Hospital. Came back and did my paperwork, then headed home. Eating dinner now and checking email. Got a three hour break, and then back on duty for the night. Fun, Fun, Fun.

Another quiet day. This is not good, usually means that the "Big One" is waiting around the corner. Got up this morning moved my car so my mother could leave to go to Harrisburg for a doctor's appointment. Came in, got changed into my uniform and had breakfast. Went into the station around 11:30 and put the flags up. The wenr to work on my sectorial duties. AND THEIR FOUR WIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS THREE AND FOUR!!!

Boy what a day, what a race. The rest of last night was quiet for a change. Got up this morning, ate breakfast and took my shower. Then I got on the computer and played a little bit. Got a call from Deb around 12:00 hours, asking if I could cover the rest of the day for her, because she wanted to go to Reading. Naturally I said yes. So got into uniform and got lunch and setteled in for the big race. 500 miles at Daytona. And what a race it was. 7 caution laps. Scott Wimer flipping over 3 times and then spinning on the nose of the car before coming to a rest. It would have been nice to see either Mark Martin, or Rusty Wallace win, but oh well, my favorite guy won anyway, JEFF GORDON. Eating dinner right now and gonna hit the email and then relax the rest of the night. Hope everything is quiet tonight, and eveyrone drive safe and cautious on the roads.

And you want to be an EMT!

Another day another dollar. Got a pretty good nights sleep last night. Got up this morning and got ready to go into the station to help Bill set things up for his EMT class that was coming there. While we were setting up, we got toned out for a burn patient call. A lady was microwaving eyebrow wax, and when she removed it from the microwave, it dumped all over her left hand, slighlty burning it. She wanted us to help her get the was off of her hand. So we tried running it under warm water, but that just made it hurt more. So we told her that she should go down to the hospital and have them look at it. She said she wanted to go down with her husband. So we got the proper singatures and went back to the "Barn". Finished setting up and then the class started. My father and I pretty much stayed out of the way until they asked us to show them 13-1. We were happy to do so. Then it came time for the class to do the practical part. Hooo Boy. I have a feeling that if some of those people go into the state practical with the attitude they had there today, they are not going to pass. Now it is ok to have fun with the practical's, but when your state practical is less than a month away, all your pratice practicals are no laughing matter. But anyhow the rest of the class went ok I guess. Well time to hit the old email and sit back and wait, still got 11 1/2 hours to go.

Kids for sale, 1/2 off

Boy, today must have been a special for kids. Two pediatric calls back to back. It all started around 10:56 with a call for a 12 year old having problems breathing. Kid has asthma and was having problems breathing. It also must have been a special for Paramedics, as all of Medic 6's were busy, along with Life Team, AND Perry Medic 81. In fact Perry Medic 81 was headed up to Lykens to help Williamstown with an ALS patient. So we ended up with Cumberland Medic 285. CUMBERLAND COUNTY. Holy crap. And to top it off we went to Hershey Hospital. Got back to the station to start on the paperwork. But before that could be done, Dohn and Bill had to change the "D" Tank in the uint and I replaced the pape towel holder in the unit with a new one. Went to the bathroom to wash my hands off, when we got tapped out for Millersburg for seizure's. Poor little girl. 6 years old and has seizures, sometimes 30 of them in a row, and she has had them since she was 8 months old, boy. Took her down to Hershey again. Stopped at "Super Sheetz" to pick up my lunch and dinner to eat at the station while I did my paperwork (grumble). Didn't get home until almost 7:30 and just finsihed taking a shower. Oh well, time to check the old email and get some sleep, pulling a 24 tomarrow.

Blood, Blood, Everywhere

Boy what a night last night. Around 22:30 hours last night I got my second call of the day, for a laceration up at the Mountain House. Boy did that guy ever bleed. There was blood everywhere. Blood on the floor in the bathroom, blood on the floor in the bar area, blood all down the front of his left pant leg, blood all on his hands, and blood soaked towels laying on the floor. And this was all from a blood blister about the size of the head of a thumb tack. Anyhow, got back home aroun 01:00 hours and went to bed around 01:30 hours, but didn't get to sleep until 02:00 hours.

Got up this morning around 11:30 and ate lunch and got in my uniform for another day at work. Boy was it a slow day today, no calls. Went back up to the mountain house around 16:00 hours to pick up the red bag we left up there last night for them to clean up the blood. Took that down to the station and came home to get cleaned up and settle in for the night. Sat down and read the Sentinal, and wanted to throw the sports section out the window. In the letters to the editor, a Halifax Township resident wrote in about how another resident attacked the supervisiors when she never attends a township meeting. In this letter the author wrote about how the township has had a deficet the past couple of years. She also wrote about how "we all want our fire company to be properlly equipped, and how the supervisiors gave them $300,000.00 last year for a new engine that cost over $500.000.00 fucking dollars and how they got over $70,000.00 in fire tax. Um, excuse me, what about us. Who comes to there house when a loved one of theirs has a heart attack, or falls down the stairs, or is having problems breathing, um not the fire department. We got $20,000.00 from the township last year. 20 fucking thousand dollars. Whoppe de doo. And then we are told that there is no room in the budget for us next year. Now I do give the township credit, they do pay for our worker's comp, but that's about it. The common mistake I see is people assume that we are associated with the fire department. Uhh read the damn sign out front people. It says Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association, not Halifax Fire Department. Ugh this makes me sick and pissed. Well enough rambling for tonight I guess. Probally gonna spend the night on the interent surfing the web.

Busy evening.

Boy what do I say about myself. I am 19 years old and live in Halifax, Pennsylvania. I am a 2003 gradurate of Halifax High School, and am currently employed as an EMT with the Halifax Ambulance and Rescue Association. I currently live with my parents (hard at sometimes) and have my own car, a 2000 Chevy Malibu. I also have an older brother, Josh, that lives in Oberlin with with my grandparents and takes care of them. I enjoy what I do for a living and would not change my profession either. I am currently single and looking for the right girl to come along, one that is understanding of what I do with my crazy schedule , a girl who like me for me and not my outside appearance. A girl that like to read, likes music, and to cuddle on the couch and just talk. She also has to be someone I can come to when my job gets me down, or deals me a hard blow. Enough about me, now lets get to my day.

Got up around 10:00 this morning and got into my uniform and had breakfast and read the paper. Found out that some dumb ass law maker wants to drop the EMS tax because it is unfair to people who don't make a lot of money. Damn politics. Anyway. Things were pretty quite during the morning and lunch time. I was able to get on the computer and play a game for about an hour, before the first call of the day came in. It was for at the High School, for a 302 commitment. Carol and Bill took the unit and I met them at the High School. Scott and Dohn also showed up to help. Well Dohn had a doctor's appointment at 15:45 hours, but ended up driving the ambulance down to Hershey Hospital anyway so Carol could be in the back. So that means I got to drive Dohn's truck down to Hershey so he could leave from there. Got back to Halifax around 16:50 hours, clocked my time in and ran home to shove my dinner down and be back out on the road for quarterly EMA training. So back on the road with my father and down to County for our EMA training. That lasted about 2 hours and I got home around 22:00 hours tonight. Online now surfing the web, checking my email, and my personal accounts to see if any girl is interested in me. Oh well enough for one night, catch you all on the flip side.
