Slow day

Went to bed at 02:00 hours last night again and got up around 11:00 hours this morning. Got changed and had breakfast, and took some trash out to the curb. Got on the computer and did a few things and then Bill called and said he had the schedule and if it was ok for him to bring it out to the house and I said yes. Got the schedule from Bill and then my mother came home. I helped her bring the groceries in, and put them away, and then got back on the computer. Took a shower around 17:00 hours and then ate dinner. Checking my email and surfing the net. Will be getting my hair cut later tonight and havbe to drop some supplies off at the station and at 29's station. Will be on late tonight, so give a buzz if you want to talk to me.

Dual Sirens

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and did not get up again until 11:30 hours this morning. Got changed into my uniform and read the paper. Got on the nintendo and ate lunch while I played. Watched a little tv at 14:00 hours, then got back on the nintendo. I was thinking about taking a shower, when the pager went off for a traumatic injury in Reed Township. Got un my car and headed on ou to Dohn and Carol's house since they had the unit there. Got there before Bill did, and got in the unit and went respending. Got on the scene and the guy was laying on his face in the yard, where he had landed after flipping backwards off of his ATV. Put him on a backboard and got him on the stretcher and headed for Holy Spirit. Bill called into Holy Spirit and they told us to divert to our local trauma cente, which is Hershey. Advised the Pt. of this and away we went to Hershey. When we got there they did a full trauma alert on him, which took all of us totally by surprise. Bill gave the report and we got our equipment from Monday's call and headed on home. Dohn stopped at Shell and got diesel and then we stopped at McDonald's and I got dinner. Dohn took us back out to his house and me and Bill picked up our vehicles, and headed back into the station, with Dohn in 13-1 in tow. Restocked the unit and logged my times in and finished eatting dinner, then headed home. Got home and watched the end of "Lost". Then I washed my hair and had a small snack. Getting ready to hit the email and surf the net. Will be on late again, give a buzz. Halfway through my 60 hour shift.

Another good day of research.

Went to bed last night around 01:30 hours and did not get up this morning until 12:00 hours. Got up got dresses, grabbed something to eat, and headed for the Senteinal office to do some research. Got up there and looked up an obit. from 2001 and then did some fire research from 1953 for myself. Took about 2 hours to do 1953. After that I stopped at CVS and picked up some Easter candy for next year at 50% off. Then I headed to McDonald's and picked up a late lunch and then headed to the "Barn" to do my paperwork on the accident from yesterday. Dohn, Carol, and Bill were there from the call at SLV when I got there. Talked to Dohn about the electrical problem with 13-2 while I ate my lunch, and then started my paperwork. The pager went off for a laceration at the Clark's Ferry bridge. I pulled the unit out, and Dohn and Carol showed up, and they took off with Bill. However they got cancelled 1 minute later. Came back and dropped Bill off then they took the unit out to the house. I finihsed up my paperwork and then came home. Carol called and asked if I would be on call tonight and I said yes. Eating dinner now, and checking my email and surfing the net. Will be on late, give a buzz if you want to talk.

It's just your finger tip, oh well

Went to bed last night around 01:00 hours. My father woke me up this morning around 07:00 hours. Got up and got changed and followed him out to Heim's Garage where he dropped off his truck to get it inspected. Went into the shed and picked up 13-2 and went to Community Medical Associates for my father to have blood drawn. Waited on him, and then we went to Dennies and had breakfast. After that went to Giant and picked up a few things and headed on home. Got home and read the paper and watched tv. Then got on the computer started on the local business's list for upcoming subscriptions. Ate lunch and then played war with my mother for an hour. Then went back out to Heim's Garage to pick up my fathers truck, and then came home. Got back on the computer and then "The Big One" came. Pager went off for an accident with entrapment in Reed Township. Since we had the ambulance at home we went responding right away. While enroute we were advised that Chief 29-3 was on the scene confirming entrapment. At this time we asked county to check on the status of Life Lion. They checked and they were not available. Got on the scene and the truck the guy was driving was demolished, and so was the school bus he hit. The guy was trapped in the truck pretty good. Along with us on the scene, there was Ambulance 13-1, Chief 13-C, both engines from 29 and Duncannon's rescue came over. Took about 30 minutes to get him out of the truck and into the ambulance, and away we went to Hershey Hospital. While enroute to the hospital we checked the guys left index finger and the tip of it was amputated. Plus we cut off the guys feather jacket, and when we cut it open in the back of the ambulance, feathers flew everywhere. Cleaned up the ambulance, and headed on home. Talked with Dohn, Carol, and Sue at the station, while Sue did her tripsheet, and then me and my father headed on home. Took a shower, and just finished eating dinner. Getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Will be on late, give a buzz.

Your not needed anymore

Went to bed last night around 01:00 hours. Around 02:30 hours the pager rocked me out of bed for breathing problems in Millersburg. Got dressed and headed into the "Barn". Got there the same time as Bill did. Went into the office and called down to county and asked if we had been dispatched on the Millersburg call, and they told me that we were initally, but that we were not needed now. (Grumble, Grumble). Thanked the man and went back home. I would like to give county my gas milage for running into the station for nothing. Got changed and went back to bed. Who would assult a 3 month old baby?

Got home last night after the meeting and talked to Sue online. A lot of feelings were discussed between the two of us. After that I got off and read until around 01:06 hours then went to sleep. Abouty an hour later the pager went off for a call in Millersburg for a fall person. Scott and Deb went responding and halfway there got cancelled. About 10 minutes later the pager went off again for a nose bleed in Millersburg. Scott and Deb went responding again and this time got to transport the Pt. Squechled the pager and went back to sleep. My mother woke me up around 09:00 hours this morning to move my car so she could leave for her doctor's appointment. Moved my car and stayed up. About that time the pager went off for a sick person in Millersburg, but 20 went responding and we were cancelled right away. After that I got changed into my uniform and ate breakfast and read the paper. After watching tv I headed on into Sheetz and got some gas, then headed to McDonalds to get lunch. While I was in McDonald's the pager went off for breathing problems in Millersburg. Of course I was in no hurry because on my way into Sheetz, I passed Millersburg heading back up. Got mu lunch and headed on back to the "Barn" to type up last nights minutes. On my way there I overheard county tell 20-1 that the 3 month-old-baby had shallow breathing, was unresponsive and had brusing above his eyes, and that the father may have assulted the baby. This absoulte enraged me. What kind of asshole would beat up his 3 month-old-baby. Got to the station and Bill was there. I walked in the office and said who the fuck would assult a 3 month-old-baby. They ended up flying the kid out on Life Lion. Typed up my minutes and ate lunch, then copied some things from folders in the file cabinet, then looked through the 2002 and 2003 minutes for two people who died that we want to put on our plaque. Then Viv called and asked it we could set up the tables for the funeral tomorrow and we said yes. We had just finished pulling out the uints when the pager went off for a sick person in Jackson Township. I pulled 13-2 out and unlocked the compartment doors and Dohn showed up and away we went. Met up with Carol on the scene and took the lady down to Holy Spirit Hospital. While we did that, Dohn went back to the station and started setting up tables. When we got back, Dohn was sitting outside and in front of the middle bay when we pulled up. So Carol pulled the uint to within a few feet of him and tapped the siren button. Boy you should have seen Dohn jump. Went in and got my times, then finished setting up. After that I did my paperwork on the call and headed on home. Took a shower and just finished eating dinner. I also just got done dispatching a call for a sick person in Millersburg. Going to be on late tonight checking my email anbd surfing the net, give a buzz if you want to talk.

Just before I left my dad called and told me that he called down to Keystone and ordered a new On-Board oxygen regulator for 13-2. SO on my way in, I stopped at Dohn and Carol's house, to let them know that my dad had got a new regulator for 13-2. Talked to them for about 20 minutes, then headed on into Giant to pick up some ice tea, then headed back to the shed to start on my tripsheet. Dohn and Carol then showed up and did a few things, then headed on home. I finished up my tripsheet, then did some supply searching on the net until about 16:00 hours. While I was in there, we got hit for a call in Wayne Township, for chest pains. I pulled 13-1 out and had it warmed up when Bill showed up, followed by Dohn and Carol, and off they went. THEY TOUCH AT THE LINE!

Went to bed last night around 00:30 hours. The pager went off this morning around 09:30 hours for a fainting in Halifax Township at Fetterhoff's Church. Someone called and asked if one of us could go and my dad went. He met Deb and Bill at the scene, and they took her down to Harrisburg Hospital and came on home. I got up and ate breakfast and read the comics, then got dressed to head into church to get our palms. Went ot the church and got our palms, then went to Giant and picked up some cat food for the kids. Came home and got changed and got on the nintendo and played until the start of the race. Got lucnh and sat down and watched the race. During the race, Deb called and asked if I could cover for her starting at 16:00 hours and naturally I said yes. So I went and got dressed awhile and watched the rest of the race. And what a race it was. Jeff got caught in a wreck on the first lap, but still finished the race. And Carl Edwars bumpped into Jimmy Johnson, yards from the start/finish line and beat him by 2 100ths of a second. After the race I wenr back to the office and got back on the nintendo to play, while mother called and ordered a pizza. About that time a call came in for Chest Pains in Halifax Township at Station 29. Me and my dad headed on in and met Bill at the station an then headed for the scene. Got on the scene and loaded him into the back of the ambulance and placed Medic 6-1 in service, and headed on down to Hershey Hospital. Does anyone else smell something burning?

Last night around 21:00 hours, a call came in for an accident with entrapment on Parmer Drive in Halifax Township. My dad was part of the on duty crew last night, so he was already dressed and took off. I got dressed in about 45 seconds and followed behind him. Sue and Scott headed for the scene and MICU 6-3 went on the air responding. County advised them that there was one Pt. and that the car was 20 feet down a steep embankment. At that point, I advised our dispatcher that I was going to head to the scene to assist since there was only one Pt. I am pretty sure I hit about 90 M.P.H. as I pasted the clugston farm on my way in. I arrived on scene and parked my car behind one of 29's firefighters vehicels, turned my car off, jumped out and left my blue light on. Sue and Scott were already down at the car and Engine 29-1 was on the scene. Started to go down the steep embankment, when Chief 29 told me that if I went through the neighbors driveway I could get over to the vehicle on pretty much flat land. Decided to go that way. Got off of the driveway and found out that I had to cross a creek to get to the car. So I found a nice shallow spot and crossed over, then I encountered the briers. Made my way through them, while keeping my balance and footing in all of the mud and made my way over to the vehicle. They already had the guy on a backboard, although he was more than halfway out of the windshield anyway. Meanwhile my dad and Carol showed up with 13-1 along with Dohn in his truck and MICU 6-3 and MICU 6-5. Got him strapped onto the board and Scott and the guys from 29 carried him back across the creek and placed him on the stretcher. I grabbed Marty's helmet, a flahslight laying in the mud, a small black bag laying on the hood of the car, and the sawzall, all of which belonged to Company 29, and carried them back across the creek. Got the guy in the back of the unit, and got them on the way to Station 29 to met Life Lion to fly him to Hershey since he was partially ejected through the windshield. Talked with a few of the guys from 29, and took a look at where the guy went off of the road, and flew through the air with the greatest of ease, before he landed down below. After that, headed back to the station to hose the mud off of my boots. After I did that, I came back out and I smelled something burning. I checked in the kitchen and did not smell it anymore, so I knew it was in the bay area. Come to find out that when 13-1 went out the door, somehow the plug for the unit, the very edge of it got caught under the bay door as it was coming down. Now our doors do not have the sensors that automaticlly stop the door when it hits something, so the motor kept on running, until it burnt the belt off of it. Called them on the private and advised them what happened and that they would have to park 13-1 in the other bay. Helped them clean up then came home and finished checking my email and went to bed. This morning around 05:15 hours the pager went off for abdominal pains in Halifax Township. My dad, Dohn, and Sue took that one. My dad called me at 06:00 hours and asked if I was ujp and I said yes. About 5 minutes later, my mother called and asked the same thing and I said yes. I got out of bed, and got dressed, and sat down in the chair in the living room, and fell asleep. The next thing I knew my brother had called my cell phone at 07:15 hours, wondering where I was. So I told them that I would be down in about 30 minutes to the temple for the pancake breakfast. Took my medication and got everything ready and headed on down. Got there around 07:55 hours and my brother and grandfather gave me my ticket and I headed on in, while they went home since they had already eaten. Had some good pancakes and sausage there, then headed back to my grandparents house to visit a little. Left there around 09:25 hours and headed over to Sam's to get gas, then headed to Second Street in the city for Hilda's memorial service. Went to that and sat with Dohn and Carol, then went downstairs for some refeshments and to talk with other peopel. Left there around 12:20 hours and headed on home. Got home and took a shower, then had lunch while I played on the nintendo. Got changed into uniform around 18:00 hours and just finished eating dinner. Going to be hitting the email and surfing the net, before I go to bed for the night. Will be on late so give a buzz if you want to talk.

Got breakfast and headed back to the shed to do my paperwork. Started to eat breakfast when Bill came in. Finished up my paperwork and then went into Giant and picked up milk and ice tea, then went home. Picked up our ark money at home and ran it back into the church. Dropped that off, then came home. Got out of bed, did the 5 minute dance, then got dressed, and hit the driveway running. Headed into the station and met up with Bill. Got to the station and my dad was puliing 13-2 out of the stationm and Bill was already inside the back. Got in the front and Carol pulled in and we went responding. Got to the house, and got the guy loaded up and into the ambulance by the time MICU 6-3 got on scene. Went screaming down to Harrisburg Hospital class 1 with the medic on board. Got him down there and transferred him from our stretcher to the hospital bed, and damn if he did not go into cardic arrest as soon as we sat him on the bed. Started CPR right away. The hospital staff worked on him for 45 minutes and got a blood pressure on him, but they had him on a ventilator and were pacing him. Dropped the medic of at Sheetz and went into get breakfast and ran into Sue in there getting coffee before heading to work. Talked to her for a little bit, then got breakfast, and headed back to the station to do my paperwork and eat breakfast. Another slow day

Talked to Amanda, and Bill last night, along with my friends Troy, and Jamie. Dad went to bed then called me over and asked me if I knew if anyone had put 13-2 away, and I said I did not know and that I would run in and check. Well no one did, so I put it away and came back home. Went to bed around 01:30 hours. Mother woke me up this morning around 09:30 hours, so I could move my car so she could take Toby up to the vets to get his shot. So i got dressed, moved my car, and helped her get Toby in the cage and place it in her van. She left and I had breakfast and read the paper. She came home and let the cat out and then sat down and called her sister Deb. I finished reading the paper, then headed into Rite Aid to drop a prescription off, and to pick up a check for the ambulance from Mid Penn Bank. Picked the check up, then went back to Rite Aid and picked up a 100 minute phone card, for my cell phone and then picked up my prescription. Stopped at McDonald's and got my mother a mint milkshake, and I got a vanilla milkshake, then headed on home. Stopped at Dohn and Carol's on the way home to drop the check off, then continued on home. Drank my milkshake while I played on the nintendo, then ate lunch. Another day off

Went to bed last night around 01:30 hours. Got up this morning around 06:30 hours and ate breakfast. Went down to my doctors appointment with my mother in her car, not to happy about that. Got down there, was in there for about 20 minutes, then came out and we headed over to my grandparents house. Got there and read the paper, while my mother talked to her father and my brother. Watched a little bit of Regis and Kelly, when my grandmother called, saying that she was ready to be picked up at Osteo and brought back home. So me, my brother and my grandfather, took my mothers van over to the hospital to pick her up. Went up to the second floor and to her room, and she was already dresses and sitting in a chair in her room. Went out into the hall to see if I could find a wheel chair for her. A nurse stopped and asked me if I need help with anything, and I said I needed a wheel chair to take my grandmother downstairs. She said that she would be right back with one. While she was gone another nurse parked an empty wheel chair outside of my grandmothers room. I decided not to take it, cause I did not want to piss the nurses off. So the nurse comes back down the hall with "Big Bethera". I mean this was the biggest wheel chair I have ever seen. It was probally as wide was the CPR seat in 13-1, and my grandmother is not big, just tall. The nurse said, "Sorry this was the only one left." Took her down stairs and helped her into my mothers van, then headed back to their house. Helped her into the house then helped my brother desipfher her discharge orders. Then ran over to the Pharmacy in the Harrisburg East Mall with my grandfather to drop off and pick up my grandmothers pain pills. Brought them back and then watched "The Price is Right" until 12:00 hours. Ate lunch then left thier house and headed on home. Stopped at Rite Aid to drop of my perscription and then headed over to Giant to pick up a few things. Headed on home, and played on the nintendo 64 for about 1 1/2 hours. Eatting dinner now, and getting ready to hit the email and surf the net. Going to be on late, but not to late, got to get ready for Hilda's funeral tomarrow.

Life Team at Halifax Ambulance?

Went to bed last night around 01:00 hours. Last night was a quiet night, no calls. Woke up this morning around 09:30 hours. Took a shower, ate breakfast while I played on the nintendo 64, then read the comics. At 10:15 hours I went in with my mother to the recycling bins at Deppen Park, to help her with the load of stuff to recycle. When we passed the "barn" I saw a medic unit from Life Team parked on the stones around the back of the station, 6 must have been out of medics. Finished up in there and came home and got back on the nintendo 64 until 14:00 hours. Got off and came out to watch the race from Las Veags Speedway. Ate dinner around 16:30 hours while we watched the race. Got dressed and headed into the station for training tonight. Dohn was able to get through his class. My dad was able to get through of the class, when a call came in for a porch fire in Halifax Township. Me, Carol, and Bill hopped in 13-2 and went responding. Got to the high school, when the box was placed in service. Turned around at the old treat and went back to the shed and back to class. We had just finished class when we got hit for another call in Halifax Township for a accident with injuries. Carol, my dad, and Bill hopped in 13-1 and went responding, and Me, Dohn, and Sue jumped in 13-2 and went enroute to assist. Got on the scene and an elderly man had accidently drove into a boat. The man was not hurt and refused treatment. Both units then went back to the shed along with Scott. Went in the meeting room to get our things and talked about our plans for Hilda's funeral service this Tuesday. Came home, just finished my snack and am getting ready to hit the email and surf the net. Getting up early tomarrow, got a doctor's appointment in Harrisburg at 08:00 hours, then got to go to Osteo to help with my grandmother who is getting out tomarrow.

Is there a way I can hug and old man and not get in trouble?

Went to bed last night around 01:30 hours. Around 03:20 hours, I was rocked out of bed for a Cardaic Arrest in Halifax Township. Jumped out of bed and started getting dresses. Dumped about a quarter of change from my jeans pocket in the process, ran out the door to the car and went flying into the station. Met Carol and Sue there and we took off. Scott was at the house first, followed by the fire department, then us, and then Medic 6. We worked on the lady for about 30 minutes, before Jim called down to medical command at Harrisburg Hospital, and it was called. Cleaned everything up, and then waited at the house for the funeral home to arrive. Talked to the husband and made sure that he was ok. Brad from Hoover's in Millersburg, showed up and me and Scott helped him load the body into the van. Talked a little bit longer with the husband, then headed back to the "barn" to get times and restock. Talked a little bit longer with Carol and Sue at the station, then headed up to Sheetz to get gas, and grab a soda and something to munch on for breakfast. Headed on home and finished up my soda, shaved, then went to bed. Got up at 11:30 hours and read the paper, and was going to make lunch soon, when we got tapped out for Diabetic problems in Upper Paxton Township. Ran into the station and met up woth Carol and Bill. Jumped on 13-2 and ran up there. Took this guy down to Harrisburg Hospital, then headed back to the station to do mu paperwork, and restock. Changed the M tank in 13-2, and found out that we probally need a new gauge for it. Finished that up and then checked the oil in 13-1 and layed cardboard down on the floor to catch the dripping oil. Did my paperwork, then headed home and played on the Nintendo 64 for a little bit. Just finished eating dinner, and going to be checking the email now, and surfing the net. Got 11 more hours to go of my 36 hours shift. Will be on late tonight surfing the net, give a buzz it you want to talk.

Day off, night on

Went to bed last night around 12:30, boy was I dragging. Got up this morning around 10:45 hours, got dressed and ran my dad's computer tower into NAS for it to be looked at. Came home, read the paper, then ate lunch while I played on the computer. Carol called then and asked if I could be on now and cover for Dohn tonight also. Natually I said yes. Around 17:43 hours we got tapped out for a call for back pains in Halifax Township. Took her down to Osteo Hospital and while I was there I visited my grandmother who is in the hospital recovering from a back operation. Visited with her for about 5 to 10 minutes then left for home and the "barn" to do my paperwork. Did my paperwork and came home, told my mother how her mother is doing. Am now eating dinner and checking my email and talking to Sue and Bill. Going to be on surfing the net, then hitting the sack, pulling a 36.

In Jackson Township...

Boy talk about a busy day. Went to bed last night around 01:20 hours. Got about 20 minutes of sleep before the pager rocked me out of bed for a call in Jackson Township, for breathing problems. It was only 30 seconds away from my house, so I went to the scene, while Dohn brought the unit out. Took her down to Holy Spirit Hospital and slept on the way home. Dohn brought out here, so I could pick my car up and go home. Went to bed around 04:45 hours. Got up around 11:00 hours this morning, vomited, ate breakfast and read the paper, then went into the shed to do my paperwork from this morning. Went to Giant and got milk then went back to the station and put the milk in the fridge. Bill was there and I sat down to do my paperwork, when we got tapped out for a phsycoscmatic in Jackson Township. Took her down to Harrisburg and went back to the "Barn" to do my paperwork. Had just started typing when we again were tapped out for a accident in Jackson Township. Got there and the person refused transport, so we went available and went back to the station to do my paperwork again. Got a little further in my tripsheet from early this morning, when we got tapped out for another accident in Halifax Township. Got there and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. On the way back we stopped at McDonalds to get dinner again, then went back to the station to finally finish all of my tripsheets. Then went back to McDonalds and got my dad a Mint Milkshake and I got a vanilla one. Came home and took a shower, and drank my milkshake. Going to check the email and surf the net, then hitting the sack. Will be on give a buzz if you want to talk.

JUST KEEP BAGGING, HE WILL GET IT!

Two calls today, wow. Went to bed last night around 12:30, early for me. The pager rocked me out of bed this morning around 08:30 hours. It was to help MICU 6-8 in Jefferson Township, cause they were stuck. Got dressed and ate breakfast and read the paper. Watched some tv, then ate lunch back in the office while I played on the Nintendo 64. Had just finished eating lunch when we got tapped out for breathing problems in Jackson Township. The call was near my house, so I went to the scene, while Dohn and Bill went to get the unit. Took him down to Harrisburg, and ended up bagging him most of the way down. Came back to the "barn" and did my paperwork, then went home. Had just sat down in the office to play some more, when we got tapped out for chest pains at the doctors office around the mountain. Took him down to Harrisburg then had Carol stop at McDonald's on the way home, so I could get dinner. Went back to the shed and did my paperwork and ate my dinner. Got home around 21:08 hours and went back to the office to play for about an hour. Going to be on checking the email and surfing the internet, give a buzz if you want to talk.

That lonesome feeling

Went to bed last night and wished I had a nice loving caring girl that I could have just wrapped my arms around and talked to her about the past two days as we layed in bed. A lot has happen in these past two days. But alas I am confined to hold a pillow and talk to the wall. Hot up early this morning, and had breakfast. Got dressed and headed on down to Harrisburg for my doctor's appointment. Rained most of the way down. Stopped at Sam's before I went to my doctors office and got gas. Headed to the doctors office and finished up my appointment. When I came out, boy was the snow falling. Took my time driving home because of the roads. I passed an accident in the eastbound lanes on 22/322 just before the Dauphin underpass. Everyone was out of the car, so I kept on going. Stopped at Giant to pick up some ice tea, then headed to the station to clock my time in for yesterday. Headed home and read the paper. Then had lunch and got on the computer. Just finished taking a shower and am eating dinner right now. Boy is the wind ever blowing outside. Oh well, gonna hit the email and surf the net, then hitting the sack. Will be on give a buzz if you want to talk.

Hilda G. Rest in Peace

Boy the hits just keep on coming. Got home last night around 23:30 hours. Got changed into my pj's and had my snack. Watched tv until 02:00 hours, then went to bed. Got up this morning arond 10:30 hours and got changed into uniform. Ate breakfast and read the paper. Then I headed into town and went to Giant to pick up a few things. Then headed to the "barn" to do my paperwork from last nights calls. Carol was kind enough to do the paperwork on the cardiac arrest for me last night, so I only had to do the paperwork on the chest pain call. Finished that up while Dohn finished washing 13-2. Bill showed up and watched me finish up my paperwork, then we talked a little bit about last nights call. Then we went out to the bays and sat and watched Dohn power wash the bay floors. Bill then helped towards the end, and when they were all done I back the units in. Headed on home, made lunch and sat down in my room at to eat lunch and play on the computer. My cat April had just got on my lap when the phone rang. My mother answered it and she yelled for me to pick up the phone. So I got on the phone and here it was Dohn. Come to find out that Hilda had passed away less then 1 1/2 ago in the hospital. She sure will be missed greatly. Hung the phone up and called Sue and told her. Then waited for my father to get home so I could let him know. My father came home around 17:00 hours and I told him. He called Dohn and Carol right away and talked to them. Just finished taking a shower and am going to hit the email and surf the net. Feeling a little depressed right now. Will be on late, give a buzz if you want to talk.

Don't drink the water

Well last night was pretty quiet, no calls. Got up this morning and ate breakfast and read the paper, then took a shower. While I was in the shower, Deb called my dad and asked him if we could cover for her and Kim for the rest of the day. Of course he said yes. About 20 minutes later, we got a call for a fall up in Millersburg. Took her down to Osteo and came back to the "barn". I did my paperwork, while my dad hosed down 13-1. Then we brought the unit home and sat down and ate lunch. Watched the Busch Series race from a track in Mexico City. We didn't get to see the end of the race as we had to get into the station for training tonight. Got to the station and statred training, when we got tapped out for a cardaic arrest. Me, Dohn, and Bill took 13-1, and my dad and Carol took 13-2. Scott met us on the scene. I had Bill hand me the AED from the back up front and when we pulled in the driveway, Dohn did not even have the unit stopped, when I jumped out and hit the ground running for the house with the AED. Of course the fire department arrived on the scene along with Ambulance 6-7 and Medic 6-2. Me and Scott started CPR and got the AED running. Did about 10 minutes of this in the house, then moved him to the ambulance. Continued to do life saving procedures to him on the was down to the hospital. On the way down, I held on to Carol to keep her from falling, and she held me tight to keep me from falling. Did all of these things to this guy and we get him down to Harrisburg Hospital and, they call it. Kind of disapointing. Got cleaned up and went back to the "barn: to restock and get times. We had just started to restock when we got hit for chest pains in Jackson Township. Took him down to Harrisburg and went back to the station to get my times. Going to be going to bed soon. Had along day today.

Oh my sore hand

Went to bed around 02:00 hours this morning and was rocked out of bed around 08:00 hours for a call for a headache. Got dressed and met Carol in at the "barn" amd took the lady down to Holy Spirit. On the way back we stopped at McDonald's on front street and got breakfast. Got back to the station and started doing my paperwork. Had Carol wrap my hand before she left for home, then Bill showed up. Had him help me sweep the bays out for the rental today. Came home then and ate lunch, and got on the internet. I had just got on when my dad came home with the new tv he bought for back in the office. So I helped him move the old one and put the new one in, then went back to the computer. Got a call for chest pains and just got back from that one. Took him down to Osteo and went back to the "barn" to do my paperwork. Before I leff I had Bill wrap my hand again, then headed home. Am eating dinner now, and just found out that Sue is sick and she won't be running tonight. That made me a little sad. Hope she gets better. Oh well gonna finish checking the email and surfing the netm then hitting the sack.

How many Pollock's does it take to replace a lock?

Forgot to mention yesterday that I read in the paper that Bubba the 23-pound, 3-foot tall lobster died at the Pittsburg Zoo, Wedensday night. Oh well. Went into the shed last night to take the inside back panels off of 13-2, to see what the problem was with the door handle. Spent 2 hours in there taking both back panels off. Come to find out that the latch was bent, so we had to get a new one. Came home, finished eating dinner and went in and got a hair cut. Came home, took a shower, checked my email and went to bed at 01:00 hours. Arond 02:37 hours the pager went off, for a sick person in Wayne Township. Got a call from Deb asking if I could take the call for her, and of course I said yes. So I got up and got dressed and headed into the "barn" and met up with Dohn in there. Took her down to Harrisburg and got home around 05:30 hours. Went to bed around 06:00 hours and slept to noon time. Got up, got into uniform, grabed lunch and went into the station to do my paperwork from the call this morning. As I was finishing up my tripsheet, Dohn showed up and he had the new lock with him. So i decided to help him. He proceeded to switch over the parts from the old lock to the new one so it would work right, and I went to work taking the inside panel of the side door off. Bill then showed up, followed by my dad at 16:00 hours. So lets see now. How many Pollock's does it take to replace a lock? Answer: 3 and one French man. So we final got everything back together on 13-2, and put it back in service. While I was finishing putting things back on the side door, I got a big ass blister in the middle of my palm of my right hand. Thing is as big as a penny. Oh well should be interesting the next few days. Finished taking a shower and am now eating dinner. Gonna check the email and surf the net, then gonna hit the sack. Pulling another 24 tomarrow.

Good day of research

Last night was quiet, no calls. Went to bed and got up this morning at 08:30 hnours and had breakfast and read the paper. Got dressed and headed on uo to Troutman's in Millersburg to have my car inspected and serviced. While I was having the work done to my car, I went on down to the Sentienal to do some research on fire incidents in the past. Went back to thier archive room and went through all the papers they had for the year 1952. Took me 2 hours to do that, and by that time my car was done. It was a good day of research, got information on 30 fire incidents. Thinking of going up there again on another one of my days of this month. Headed on back to Troutman's to pick up my car and pay. Headed on down to Sheetz and got gas, then headed to Giant and picked up a few things and then to the Dollar General to pick up a birthday card for my friend, then headed home. Hmmmm. How does that ring a bell? Oh yes, I know, it was another quiet day just like Monday. Dejavu. Went to bed last night and got up this morning around 9:45. Got changed into my uniform, then called Troutman's in Millersburg and set up an appointment tomarrow to have my car inspected and serviced. After that had breakfast and read the paper. Then got on the computer and played Battleship again. Took a break from that to help my mother put sheets on my bed and their's, then back to the computer. Did I mention it was another slow day? Had dinner, and watched a little tv. Gonna hit the email and surf the net, and wait for Bill to get online, then going to be sending him a whole lot of pictures. Finally a call

It finally happened, we got a call. Up to good old Polk Apartments in Millersburg for a CVA. But before that all happened, I had to clean the driveway off. Got up around 8:00 this morning and got changed into my uniform. Went outside to start cleaning my car off, and my dad was down in the shed firing the snow blower up. So I cleaned my car off while he started to blow the driveway off. I then cleaned off his truck so he would not have to when he went to leave for work, then cleaned my mother's car off. Then grabbed the shovel and cleaned the side porch off and did a little tiding up of spots that my dad had missed on the driveway. After that was all done, my dad left for work and I went inside and ate breakfast and watched tv. Sat down and started to read the paper when the call came in. Took the guy down to Hershey, and then dropped Jim off at Sheetz to get his squad. Went in and got a sub for lunch and went back to the "barn" to do my paper work. Got home around 3:45 after I went to Giant. Took a shower and ate dinner. Just finished dispatching for a call, and am now going to check my email and surf the net. Gonna be up late again. Another fun field day toamrrow.
