Does anyone else smell something burning?

Last night around 21:00 hours, a call came in for an accident with entrapment on Parmer Drive in Halifax Township. My dad was part of the on duty crew last night, so he was already dressed and took off. I got dressed in about 45 seconds and followed behind him. Sue and Scott headed for the scene and MICU 6-3 went on the air responding. County advised them that there was one Pt. and that the car was 20 feet down a steep embankment. At that point, I advised our dispatcher that I was going to head to the scene to assist since there was only one Pt. I am pretty sure I hit about 90 M.P.H. as I pasted the clugston farm on my way in. I arrived on scene and parked my car behind one of 29's firefighters vehicels, turned my car off, jumped out and left my blue light on. Sue and Scott were already down at the car and Engine 29-1 was on the scene. Started to go down the steep embankment, when Chief 29 told me that if I went through the neighbors driveway I could get over to the vehicle on pretty much flat land. Decided to go that way. Got off of the driveway and found out that I had to cross a creek to get to the car. So I found a nice shallow spot and crossed over, then I encountered the briers. Made my way through them, while keeping my balance and footing in all of the mud and made my way over to the vehicle. They already had the guy on a backboard, although he was more than halfway out of the windshield anyway. Meanwhile my dad and Carol showed up with 13-1 along with Dohn in his truck and MICU 6-3 and MICU 6-5. Got him strapped onto the board and Scott and the guys from 29 carried him back across the creek and placed him on the stretcher. I grabbed Marty's helmet, a flahslight laying in the mud, a small black bag laying on the hood of the car, and the sawzall, all of which belonged to Company 29, and carried them back across the creek. Got the guy in the back of the unit, and got them on the way to Station 29 to met Life Lion to fly him to Hershey since he was partially ejected through the windshield. Talked with a few of the guys from 29, and took a look at where the guy went off of the road, and flew through the air with the greatest of ease, before he landed down below. After that, headed back to the station to hose the mud off of my boots. After I did that, I came back out and I smelled something burning. I checked in the kitchen and did not smell it anymore, so I knew it was in the bay area. Come to find out that when 13-1 went out the door, somehow the plug for the unit, the very edge of it got caught under the bay door as it was coming down. Now our doors do not have the sensors that automaticlly stop the door when it hits something, so the motor kept on running, until it burnt the belt off of it. Called them on the private and advised them what happened and that they would have to park 13-1 in the other bay. Helped them clean up then came home and finished checking my email and went to bed. This morning around 05:15 hours the pager went off for abdominal pains in Halifax Township. My dad, Dohn, and Sue took that one. My dad called me at 06:00 hours and asked if I was ujp and I said yes. About 5 minutes later, my mother called and asked the same thing and I said yes. I got out of bed, and got dressed, and sat down in the chair in the living room, and fell asleep. The next thing I knew my brother had called my cell phone at 07:15 hours, wondering where I was. So I told them that I would be down in about 30 minutes to the temple for the pancake breakfast. Took my medication and got everything ready and headed on down. Got there around 07:55 hours and my brother and grandfather gave me my ticket and I headed on in, while they went home since they had already eaten. Had some good pancakes and sausage there, then headed back to my grandparents house to visit a little. Left there around 09:25 hours and headed over to Sam's to get gas, then headed to Second Street in the city for Hilda's memorial service. Went to that and sat with Dohn and Carol, then went downstairs for some refeshments and to talk with other peopel. Left there around 12:20 hours and headed on home. Got home and took a shower, then had lunch while I played on the nintendo. Got changed into uniform around 18:00 hours and just finished eating dinner. Going to be hitting the email and surfing the net, before I go to bed for the night. Will be on late so give a buzz if you want to talk.
