Amanda Nornhold, future EMT!
First let me start off by saying a hearty congrats to my best friend, and sis Amanda, for passing your state practical test. When things were looking down on you and you thought you would not finush the class, with help from your mother, myself, Dohn and Bill, you were given new hope that there were many people, some close to you that were committed to see you pass this course and become an emt. From doing practical with myself, to going to HACC and Hampden Township to finish the course, and with your mother and myself leading the way to see that you could get an opportunity like this. The time and dedication that you put into this these past couple of weeks, spending your nights at HACC and Hampden Township going over the end of the course, you are to be highly commended. Where other teens your age would have shurgged it off as "I will never finish this course", or "I don't want to waste my nights", you stuck with it. All of this leading up to this past week. Passing you HACC final practical, HACC final written test, and now you State Practical, is something to be proud of. I have the most highest confidence that you will pass the State written test with flying colors. You are a wonderful young women and will do well with this profession. From one EMT to a future one, I say congrats on joining a long line of dedicated people such as yourself, to serveing the public need.
I went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. I ate breakfast, read the paper and watched a little tv. After that I got on the PS2 and played football again. Once again my Hailfax Wildcats beat the New England Patriots, 255 to 20, extendung my overall record for the season to 9-0-0., which ties me in first in the AFC with the Colts. I made lunch while I played. Then while I was playing around 03:00 hours the fire pager which I had with me went off for a motorcycle accident at the top of Peters Mountain Road. Me and my father got dressed and headed on into the station incase they needed the second unit. We pulled into the "Barn" when they said that EMS could come in class 3, so we decided to head on home. Once home I got back on the PS2 and started playing again. ABout 30 minutes later the pager went back off again for a fall person in Jackson Township. Me and my father headed back into the station again and picked up 13-1 and headed on back out this way. We got there and the lady only needed help getting back up off of the floor. He kids did not want to help her up incase she had hurt anything when she fell and thay wanted us to check her out. She stated that she flet fine and was not hurt anywhere. We went available and headed back into the station so my father could put his truck inside the station for the night. After we did that we headed back home. Once home I got back on the PS2 again and finished up my football game while I ate dinner. I then got off around 19:00 hours and came out and watched Cops until about 20:10 hours when the pager went off for an unconscious person in Halifax Borough. Me and my father got in 13-1 and off we went. We met Sue on the scene and then Medic 6 showed up. The guy did not want to go down to the hospital, even though she should have. In the end he decided not to go down. So we went available and headed back to the station. I logged my times in and Sue started her tripsheet, while my dad looked up a few things on the internet. I had just pulled a photo album down to look at the pictures, when the pager went off for a CVA in Wayne Township. We got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there followed by Medic 6. She did not want to go down to the hospital either. She was not really in a real state of need that she had to go down right now, even the medic thought so. After we got out signatures, we headed back to the station again. Sue finished up her tripsheet, while my father finished looking things up on the net. We left the station around 23:30 hours. When we came out the back office door, a toad was hoping along the cement, so I called Sue over and she freaked out. I teased her about it and then we left. Came home and made somne popcorn. Going to do a quick check of my email, then I am hitting the sack, I have Amanda's graduration/going away party to go to tomorrow afternoon. Catch you all on the flip side.
