Triage

Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours after I read for about 30 minutes. I got up around 06:20 hours and went to the bathroom and I also weighed myself and found out that I lost 2 pounds. I then went back to bed. I was rocked out of bed around 06:57 hours for an accident with injuries in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". As I approached Dohn's house I saw that he was coming down hius driveway and I slowed down to try and let him out, but I almost got rear ended, so I continued on. I then got in traffic that was behind two school bus. Dohn came up behind me and I waved him on by so he could get in front of me and clear the way, and then I fell in behind him. We got there and Dohn and me got in 13-1 and off we went. Bill pulled in as we were leaving and him and Carol took 13-2. We got there and we got the lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. Once back at the shed I logged my time in and pulled the times up for my call. I then went to Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription for my mother and then went next door to Giant and picked up a gallon on milk and a gallon of iced tea. I then went back over to Rite Aid and I picked up my mother's medication, and then headed on home. Once at home I ate breakfast and read the paper. I then watched my TV show at 11:00 hours. I then headed back into the shed. Bill was there when I got there and he was doing his refusal from this morning. I changed the clocks in 13-2 and then I did my tripsheet from this morning. We then discussed things regarding Santa. Then Susie dropped by and the three of us talked some. Then me and Bill talked a little bit more. We both left the shed around 15:20 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I talked to my mother a little bit and then my father came home and went out and mowed the grass. I then got on the PS2 and ate dinner while I played. I watched "That 70's Show" and then I took a shower. I then went downstairs and helped my mother get some things together to take up to GoodWill tomorrow. I just finished eating my snack and am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. What a day for calls

Around 01:00 hours I got off the computer and layed in bed and read for about an hour. I then went to bed around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. I got out of bed and I ate breakfast, read the paper, and watched a little tv. I then went and took a shower. After that I came back out and watched some more tv. Around 10:40 hours the pager went off for chest pains in Wayne Township. Kim and Deb were on duty today and they took the call. Then around 12:45 hours the pager went off for an accident with injuries in Watts Township, Perry County. Kim and Deb were on their way back and went avaiable and responding on the call. Then they hit out for a second unit from us. Viv called and me and my father got dressed and got in his truck to head into the "Barn" for the sceond unit. We got as far as Jody's house and they cancelled 12, and they only needed one BLS unti from us, so me and my dad went back home. Once at home I made lucnh and sat down to watch the race. Then around 14:30 hours the pager went off for a fall person in Upper Paxton Township. Kim and Deb were already back so they took the call. Then arouind 15:00 hours the pager went off for an unconscious person in Middle Paxton Township. 12 got out and we were placed in service. I then sat down to watch the rest of the race. Carl Edwards won and Jeff Gordon came in second. I then got changed out of my uniform and then ate dinner. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Moving close to a bowl game

Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 08:10 hours when the pager went off for a cardiac arrest in Millersburg Borough at Polk Assisted Living. I got out of bed and got my socks on when 20 got out and we were placed in service. So I finished getting dressed and then me and my father ran into the "Barn" and picked up 13-1 and brought it out home. Once at home I sat down and ate breakfast and read the paper, and then watched a little tv. Around 11:15 hours the pager went off again for breathing problems in Chest Pains in Millersburg Borough. We started getting ready and 20 got out again and we were placed in service. I then got on the computer around 12:00 hours. I made lunch at 13:00 hours and ate it while I played on the computer. Then around 14:30 hours the pager went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. We got in 13-1 and off we went. We got up there and they lady stated that she was fine and that she did not want to go down to the hospital. So we cancelled Medic 6 and got a refusal on her and then headed back home. We went up to Shell and got Disiel and then went back to the shed. I did my paperwork for the call and then we headed on home. Once at home we watched the Penn State Game. It was a very good game. Penn State won again. I ate dinner while I watched the game and am now getting ready to hit the old email and get a snack. County, Tanker 216 responding

Around 01:18 hours the pager went off for smoke in a structure in Halifax Township. I started getting dressed and went out to my car. As I unlocked my car door, the house siren went off. I got in my car and made my way to the hose house. I got there and Bubba and his step-son were just going into the fire house. I parked my car and threw off my job sweat and popped my trunk. I then went around and got my bunker pants out and took my shoes off and got my bunker pants off and then put my coat on and grabbed my helmet, put my keys in my pocket and then closed the trunk. I then went inside the station and Bubba was getting his gear on and he told me that him and myself were going to take the tanker. So we got in and I put us responding. We took it nice and easy on the way over, because we thought it was going to be a BS call. However, we ended up being the first piece of apparatus on the scene. The ambulance was next, followed by Engine 29, our engine, Tanker 29, and Ladder 20. We were on the scene for about 25 minutes and the box was placed in service abd me and Bubba went back to the station. We got there and Dave Foust was there getting ready to do up the report and I stayed and watched. I left there around 02:25 hours and headed on home. I got home and finished up a few things and then went to bed around 03:00 hours. I was rocked out of bed around 05:25 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Dohn pulled in right behind me. We got in 13-1 and took off. We got as far as where Good Cents used to be and Medic 6 got on scene and said they would hanle the call and placed us in service. So we went back in service and back to the shed. After Dohn backed the unit in, I left for home. I got home and got right back in bed and went to sleep again. I then got up at 12:00 hours and I ate lunch, read the paper and watched a little tv. I then headed back into the shed. Bill was already there. I did my paperwork from last nights call and then me and Bill talked about things for santa. We then left the shed around 15:10 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I got on the PS2 and ate dinner. I then took a shower and got on the computer. Trick or Treat!

Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate breakfast, read the paper, and watched my TV show. I then went in to the recycle bins and dropped off some stuff. I then went to Sheetz and got gas and then to Giant where I picked upa few things. I then went back to the "Barn". Bill was there and him and me worked on the letters to be sent out to the business asking for donations for the Visit with Santa next month. We then talked about a few things and we both left the shed around 15:15 hours. I headed on home and got onthe computer and did a few things online. I then started to eat dinner around 17:00 hours. At 17:05 hours the pager went off for a CVA in Halifax Township. I logged off of the internet and sat my dinner in the kitchen and then got in my car and headed into the shed. I got there and Dohn was already there along with Carol and Bill. Dohn had 13-1 pulled out and was sitting in it. Dohn and myself took it, while Bill stayed behind to help hand out candy at the Post Office. We got there and we cancelled Medic 6. We then got the guy loaded up and took him down to Holy Spirit Hospital. As we were making the stretcher up, Millersburg's ambulance pulled in and Fred and Lola were the crew. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We got back to the Post Office around 19:10 hours. We then helped with handing out candy and pumpkins for the rest of the evening. We letf there around 20:00 hours and headed back to the station. The five of us talked for a little bit and then we all left for home. Once at home I took a shower and finished eating my dinner. Were out of candy!

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then I ate breakfast, read the paper and watched my TV show. At 12:00 hours I got my boots on and got the mail and then I headed into town. I went to Giant and I got 3 cases of my soda and then I headed back to the "Barn". Bill was already there when I got there, and I took in the cake for the party tonight and the box of tootsie pops for tonight. I then started to do some work on the flyer for santa when I found out that my father had taken the keys home for the computer desk. So I got in my car and headed on home. Once at home I dropped the soda off and picked up the keys and headed back into the shed. Once back there I worked on the flyer and then my and Bill left there around 15:00 hours. I got home and I got the halloween candy out for my mother and we found out that we needed one more bag. So she called my father and he stopped at K-Mart and picked up a bag. I then got on the PS2 and I ate dinner. Me and my father left the house at 18:30 hours and headed into the shed. We got in there and Bill and Sue were already there. Dohn and Carol then showed up and I brought 13-2 around back for them. We then loaded the candy into 13-1 and we headed for the park to line up. We got there and got in line and 13-2 went to the bank and parked to watch the parade. The parade then started. Boy was it a nice parade, Dohn said it was long and I thought that there were a lot of people out watching it. I ran out of candy right before the VFW. It was kind of hard not to run out of candy when it seemed like 50% of the people watching the parade, knew my name. We then went back to the park and both Bill and my father got something to eat. We then started on back to the shed. Just as we were getting ready to leave the park, Bob Stout came over to us and asked us if we were the on duty crew and we said yes. He asked us if we could give him and his partner a ride up to Market Street in Halifax Borough for a head injury as a result from a domestic. We said sure and they got in. When we got up there, the girl was standing in the road, we got her in the ambulance and Bill started to look at her. Dohn, Carol and Sue then showed up and I took the candy tubs out of 13-1 and put them in 13-2. Bob then came back out and said that the mother was complaining of chest pains. So Sue got on 13-1 with Bill and my father and they ended up taking the girl down to Harrisburg Hospital. Dohn, Carol and myself then went into the house took check out the mother. She did not want to go down. So after we got al lthe paper work done, we headed on back to the shed. Me and Dohn then ended up talking and then I got soem left over beef and ate it. 13-1 then got back right after Dohn and Carol left for home. Bill, Sue and my father then made up platters and then me and my father headed on home. Once at home I had a glass of milk and watched a little tv. Shot by the Flu

Around 01:45 hours the pager went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. I was still up and started getting dressed and my father got up and started getting dresses. I took my time because when they dispatched it, county said Company 20 or Company 13. So I knew that 20 would be getting out shortly. I was right, 20 got out and they placed us in serivce. So I got undressed and finished up on the computer and went to bed around 02:20 hours. I was rocked out of bed around 08:35 hours for an accident with injuries and entrapment in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and took off for the "Barn". I got in there and got inside and opened the bay door up and started the unit up and Carol pulled in. I put us responding. Scott went to the scene and then Dohn showed up. It was supposed to be a head on collison, but it was actually a rear end collison. We got the guy loaded up and Medic 6 went along down with me in the back and we took the guy down to Hershey Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We stopped at Shell and got disiel and then went back to the shed and dropped the medic off at his squad. I then logged my time and then pulled the times up for the call. After that I headed on home. I got home and I read the paper and ate lunch while I watched my TV show. At 12:05 hours the pager went off for seizures in Halifax Township. I got in my car and headed to Carol's house. I got there ans she put us responding and we picked up Bill at the shed. Once we got to the scene, we loaded the guy up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on home. We dropped Bill off at the shed and Carol took me out to her house so I could pick my car up. After I got my car, I headed back into the shed to do my paperwork from the accident this morning. Once I was done with the paperwork, I pulled 13-2 out so Bill could start setting tables up. I then left and headed on down to Costco's to get my flu shot. I got down there around 15:45 hours and met my mother at the store. We went back to the pharmacy and when we turned the corner, boy was the line ever long, and I mean long. We picked forms to fill out and started walking back to the end of the line. About half was back the line I saw my father standing in line. He had saved both of us a spot in line. So we got in line and then began the wait. After 30 minutes of standing in line, they started counting people in line. After they did it the first time, about 20 minutes later they came back and counted again. We had about 20 people in line behind us. When they got to the end of those 20 people, they said that was it. They only had enough for those in front of the cut off point. So we were lucky. We ended up waiting in line for 2-1/2 hours. I took about a minutes for me to get my shot and it did not hurt as bas as I thought it would. So after we all got our shots, I headed on home, while they did a little shopping in the store. I stopped at the shed and logged my time in for the rest of the day and talked to Bill for a little bit. I then headed on home and finished reading the paper. Is it to early to think of Santa?

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. I got out of bed and weighed myself. I then ate breakfast and read the paper. I then watched my TV show at 11:00 hours. At 12:00 hours I got dressed and headed on into town. I went to Giant and I picked up a few things for at home and then headed to the "Barn" to meet up with Bill. I got there and Bill was already there. We then took about 10 minutes cleaning up the balloons that had come down from the ceiling from Saturday night. We then went into the office and talked about the Visit with Santa coming up soon and what we needed to get done. We typed up a letter to be sent out to the association members. We then talked some and we both left the shed around 15:00 hours. I headed on home. Once at home I took the food inside and then I helped my mother in taking her potted plants off of the porch and putting them away for winter. After that I went inside and took a shower. I then got on the PS2 and played a little bit while I ate dinner. While I was doing that, Dep called and asked if I could cover for her tonight and I said yes. I then got changed into my uniform and finished eating dinner. Me and my father then left for the shed around 18:28 hours. We got in there and Bill, Dohn and Carol were already there. We had a short training class tonight. I spent the class time drawing up plans for the decorations for our visit with Santa, next month. We left there around 20:24 hours and headed on home. Back on top!

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:45 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and read the paper and ate breakfast. I then got dressed and left the house around 08:55 hours and headed up to the hose house. I got up there and 3 people were already there. So I went in and we waited for Bubba to show up. Once he showed up we started training for the morning. We spent the time inside going over things since it was kind of cold out. We went over incidents that we will be facing now that winter is coming. Such as Chimney Fires, Accidets. We then went over what we use on all chimney fires. We then talked about friction loss in hose, the difference between a reverse lay and a forward lay, and the difference between ventlating a roof and trenching a roof. We then talked about next months training and then we stood around shooting the shit. I left there around 12:45 hours and headed on home. Once at home, my parents were home from going to Wal-Mart. I came inside and got changed and then took a shower. I then made lunch and sat down to watch the race at Martinsville. Good race. 19 cautions, new record for the track. My guy won, Jeff Gordon, 4th win of this season. I am getting ready to hit the old email, surf the net, and eat dinner. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA!!!

Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning around 11:00 hours. I got out of bed andI read the paper. I then made lunch and ate it while I played on the PS2. I then got off around 14:15 hours to watch a little tv after my parents got home from their eye doctor's appointments this morning and doing a little shopping. I am getting ready to check my email and surf the net. I go on duty at 18:00 horus tonight. I am then going to watch the Penn State game at 19:00 hours. I will be back online after the game is over. I want to take this time to wish my best friend Amanda a very Happy 19th Birthday!!! I hope you have a fun filled and happy day as you celebrate this special day in your life. Rainy Day

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:45 hours when the pager went off for chest pains at the Halifax Elementary School in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed, my father brought my medication back and then I got in my car and headed for the "Barn". I got there and Bill and Carol already had 13-1 pulled around bacl and were in it waiting for me. I got in and off we went. We got there and Meidc 6 showed up. We got the kid loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. While we were coming into Dauphin we heard on the radio that there was a call for chest pains at the health center in Millersburg Borough. Scott said that he was the only medic available in the upper county since Tindell was on with 20's crew and on their way to Harrisburg. So we went responding and started up that way. As we were coming up the south side of the mountain we heard 13-2 go responding with my dad and Dohn. They got there first and then we got there. We got the lady loaded up in 13-2 and then my dad drove and I jumped in the back with Scott and we went down to Harrisburg Hospital. Bill stayed behind with Carol for the second crew and Dohn went back with them so he could go down to Harrisburg and get oxygen. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We dropped the medic off at our station since his squad was there. My dad then took 13-2 up to get disel and I changed the brake light on 13-1. I then went back to the office and did a few things while Bill did his tripsheet. After Bill was done, I did my tripsheet from this afternoon's call. After I was done there, I headed on home. Once at home I got oline for a little bit and I ate dinner. I changed clothes and then headed into the school around 18:00 hours. Boy what a game. We ran all over Newport winning 35 to 12. The rain held off for the game with it only spritzing during the entire game. After the game was over I went down to the band room and talked a little with Ms. Aunkst. After that I headed on home. I stopped at the shed and logged in my time for today and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and ate a light snack and then watched the news at 23:00 hours. Brake Lights

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 07:30 hours when the pager went off for a fall person in Millersburg Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and was just putting my right boot on when 20 went responding and we were placed in service. So I got undressed and went back to bed. I got up again at 10:00 hours. My parents were just leaving to head to Harrisburg. They were going down to do some things. My father had to go to a retirement party. It was also my parents anniversary today. I got dressed and then ate breakfast and read the paper. I then watched my tv show at 11:00 hours. After that was over I walked 20 laps in the driveway and then got in my car and headed into town. I went to Giant and got milk and iced tea. I then went to the "Barn" and did my paper work from last nights call. I then headed on home when I was done there. Once at home I got on the PS2 and played for about 7 minutes when the pager went off for an unconscious person in Upper Paxton Township. I turned my game off and got in my car and headed to Carol's house. I got there and Bill pulled in right behind me and we both got in 13-1 and off we went. We got up there and Jim and Steve wer there. We got the guy loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We dropped Jim off at Sheetz so he could get his squad and then we went out to Carol's house to pick up our cars. Me and Bill then went back into the shed and I logged my time in and we talked about what we want to do with santa. I left the shed around 17:15 hours and headed on home. Once at home I fed the cats and then ate dinner while I played on the PS2. My parents then came home around 18:45 hours and I helped bring some things in. Third time's a charm

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 02:40 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Township. I got up and got dressed since I was covering for Dohn after 02:00 hours. I then got in my car and headed to Carol's house. I got there and got in the unit and off we went. We got there and we got the lady loaded up and placed medic 6 in service and then took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. On the way down she started vomiting. Oh my god, did that ever smell. She had fish and red beats for dinner and the mixture did not smell good coming back up. I must have put about a ton of Vick's on to mask the smell. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We stopped at the "Barn" and I logged my time in and pulled my times up for the call. After that Carol took me out to my car and then I headed on home. Once at home I crashed in bed and fell right to sleep. I was awoken around 10:06 hours when I heard the house siren going off. I got out of bed and went over to my parents bedroom and grabbed the fire pager to listen to the call. Here it was for a 29 box and they had a fully engulfed combine in a field. I then got dressed, ate breakfast and read the paper while I listened to the call. I then watched my TV show at 11:00 hours. After it was over I headed into town. I went to Sheetz and I got gas and then I went to Rite Aid and dropped off two perscriptions. I waited on them and while I waited on them, I walked around the store 4 times and I got a Powerball ticket. After that I went to the shed. Once there I did the minutes from Monday nights meeting and then I did my paperwork from the call this moring. Bill was already at the shed when I got there. Carol then came in, followed by Dohn and the four of us worked on the candy for the parade and trick or treat for next week. We all left there around 15:20 hours, and I headed on home. Once at home I talked to my mother and I read the Sentinel. Around 18:00 hours I sat down to eat dinner and the pager went off for breathing problems in Millersburg Borough. I got in my car and headed to Carol's house. I got there and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got as far as the shed when Millersburgs other unit got out and they placed us in service. So we turned around and headed back to her house. I got in my car and headed on home. I got home and came in the house and was taking my job sweat off, when the pager went off for chest pains in Millersburg Borough. I got back in my car and headed back to Carol's house. I got there and got in the rig and off we went. We actually made it to Millersburg this time, but we could not find the street, and Medic 6 got there and places us in service. I was a little mad at the time, but later when I found out that they went to Geisiner, I was happy they cancelled us. So after the cancelled us, we swung by Millersburg's station and talked to the crew from 20-1. They we waiting on the corner to come abd pick up the body from that they brought from the golf course. While we were talking to them the pager went off for heart problems in Millersburg Borough at Dr. Ellis office. We went responding and got there in like 2 minutes. We got the lady loaded and then Jim showed up and he got on board and we took the lady down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We ran back up to Millersburg abd dropped Jim off at the squad and then we went back to the shed. I logged my time in and pulled the times up for the call and then I replaced the outside M tank on 13-1. After I did that, we went back to Carol's house and I got my car and headed on home. New Shoes for the car

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 06:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and I ate breakfast and read the paper. I then got dressed and got my stuff together and then got in my car and headed up to Troutman's to have my new tires put on the car. I got pu there at 07:30 hours and I pulled in and handed my car over to the staff. I then went into the waiting room and read a magazine. I was there for about 2-1/2 hours. When my car was finally done, I paid and then I headed over to the Sentinel to do some more research. I was able to do four years this time and got about 10 to 12 pages of articles that I am going to be typing up this evening. After I was done at the Sentinel, I headed on home. A 302

Last night my father asked me if I could run for him and naturally I said yes. So before I ate dinner, I got changed into my uniform and ate dinner. Around 22:20 hours the pager went off for a phsycoscmatic in Halifax Township. I got mt jacket on and then got in my car and headed for the "Barn". I pulled in behind Carol and Sue was already there with the bay door open to 13-1. We all got in 13-1 and off we went. We staged in the 100 block of Hershey Road until PSP got on the scene. Dohn also came out in his truck and went to the scene right before PSP. I feel really bad for the girl. She seems like she has no freedom. We ended up taking her down to Hershey. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We talked at the shed for a little bit and then we all left for home. Once I got home I finished up my stuff online and then I went to bed around 02:00 hours. I got up this morning around 10:00 hours and I weighed myself in. I lost 1 pound, but that is 1 pound less that I am carring around. After that I got dressed and then ate breakfast and read the paper. After that I watched my TV show at 11:00 hours. At 11:45 hours the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. I got in my car and headed for the "Barn". I got in there and Sue's truck was there, but she was not, so I knew she must have went with Bill out to the scene. Dohn pulled in a few seconds behind me and we got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and got the guy loaded up and headed on down to Osteo. We stopped at the shed and Dohn got off and Carol got on since Dohn had to be somewhere at 13:30 hours. We then went to 3 B's where we met up with Life Team out of the city for our medic. He got on and I got to drive 1-7 down to Osteo. After we got what we needed there, Sue drove home. I think she did a very good job. She needs a little working on backing the unit up, but overall I think she is very good at the driving part. Bill was at the shed when we got back and the three of us talked and I did a few things online. I then left around 15:25 hours and headed on home. Once at home I got online and did a few quick things and then I played a game on the computer and ate dinner. I got changed around 18:00 hours and me and my father left the house around 18:10 hours and headed for the shed for the meeting tonight. We got there and no one was there. Dohn, Kim and Bill were at the JV game. The meeting want fairly good tonight, better then last month. We left the shed around 22:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and just finished eating a snack. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Slow Day

Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning around 09:00 hours. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and read the paper. I then got dressed and then me and my father took 13-1 nack into the "Barn". Once we got there, I did my tripsheet from yesterday afternoon's call. Then my father transmitted and after that we went to Giant to pick up some things for at home. After that we ran up to Medic 6 in Eville and dropped of Mike's clipboard that he left in 13-1 on Friday afternoon's call. After we dropped that off, we headed on home. Once at home we brought all the food in and then I took a shower. After the shower I made lunch and then the three of us watched the movie "Robot's". That is a very good movie. Would recommend it to anyone. After that I went outside to check on the Halloween decorations because of all of this wind. After that I came back in and watched the end of the Steeler's football game. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. One Lousy Second

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours ans got up this morning around 09:45 hours . I got out of bed and got dressed and then me and my father headed into the "Barn" and picked up 13-1 and brough it out to the house. Once we were home, I sat down to read the paper and my father had just sat down to eat breakfast, when the pager went off for a sick person at the Kepler Home in Elizabethville Borough. We quickly went responding. Once we got up there, we loaded the guy up and headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed back home. We stopped at the shed and Bill was there. We talked to Bill while I did my tripsheet. I also logged our times in. After that we went up to Dollar General and got some kitty liter and a kitty pan for at home. Once we got home the exterminator was gone. He had sprayed the basement and told us to leave the basement door open so the bees could go out. So we put the kitty pan upstairs for the cats to use for the next few days. After that I read the paper and then I made lunch and played on the PS2. I got off the PS2 around 15:25 hours and went out to the living room to sit down and get ready to watch the Penn State Game. I had just sat down when the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. Once again we quickly went responding and once we got there, loaded the guy up and headed on down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We stopped at the shed and I logged our time in and pulled up the times for this call, and then put the stuff in my folder and then we headed on home. Once at home we watched the rest of the Penn State game and I ate dinner. I am so upset that Michigan beat us by 2 points. They got a damn touchdown with one second left in the game. After that we all watched the race. Boy what a race also. A lot of right rear and right front tire problems during the race. Jimmie Johnson won the race and he is now tied for first place in the points right now. Attack of the Bees

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then went out and took my medication. I had just sat down to read the paper, when my mother yelled for me to come downstairs. So I got shoes on and went downstairs, and here the bees were back. We spent about 30 minutes killing about 12 bees. After that we went outside and sprayed the hole in the wall where they have been goin into. After we did that we went upstairs and watched our TV Show at 11:00 hours. After that was over, around 12:00 hours, my mother went downstairs to put wash in and she yelled for me again. I went downstairs and there was about 25 of them all over the door and one window above the washing machine. We spent about an hour killing them all and then my mother went upstairs and called an exterminator. He is coming tomorrow to inspect the basement and then we will be setting up a date next week for the guy to come and spray. After that we went upstais andI read the paper and then I made lunch and got on the computer to do a few things. Around 14:20 hours the pager went off for a traumatic injury in Jackson Township. Since I was close to it, I went to the scene and I let Carol know that. When I got there, the lady was sitting on her front porch. She had been run over by a 2,000 pound bull. Dohn then showed up, followed by Medic 6 and then 13-1 with Carol and Bill on it. We got the lady loaded up and took her down to Hershey Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We dropped the medic off at Sheetz and then Dohn and Bill took me out to my car. After I got my car I headed on home and got back on the computer to finish things up and ate dinner also. I then took a shower and ate a snack. Happy Birthday Dad

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 08:30 hours when the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed, took my medications and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". Bill said he was going to the scene and Carol was sitting in 13-1 outside when I pulled in. She put us responding and I got in and off we went. We got there and Bill was already there and had the guy up off of the floor. We checked him out and he refused treatment. So after we got all the paperwork filled out, we headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and pulled the times up for the call. I then showed Bill a few pictures from online and then I changed the sign out front to show my father's birthday. After that I ran to Giant and I got a bag of salad for my mother and a gallon of milk. I then headed on home. Once at home I sat down and watched my tv show and then read the paper. I then made lunch around 12:30 hours and I got on the PS2 and played NASCAR Thunder 2004, and then Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. Around 14:20 hours the pager went off for a bus fire in Jackson Township. I got in my car and then headed to the scene. When we I got to the intersection of Rutter Road and Enders Road, I saw nothing. So I called Bill on the private and told him to ask county if they had a better location of it. They told him that they only knew Enders Road and Rutter Road. Scott then got on the private and told me that he was going to call the school. So he did and he told me where it was and then Bill told county. So after I finally knew where it was, I headed the way. I got there behind one of Fisherville's Fire Police. I parked my car got out and put my helmet on and went down to the bus. All of the kids were already off of the bus and onto another one. I talked to the bus driver and he told me what happened and then I got on the bus and took a look at it. About that time Carol and Bill showed up and then Robbie from Fisherville and then Tanker 216 showed up a few minutes later. We were there for about 30 minutes and then we all left. I went back to the shed and logged my time in and took a look at the call. I then headed on home. I stopped at the hose house and asked Bubba when training was and he told me next Sunday. I then headed for home. Once at home I got back on the PS2 and got off about 45 minutes ago. I am eating dinner now and am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Quiet Day

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 09:50 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate dinner and read the paper. I then watched my TV show at 11:00 hours. At 12:00 hours I started to go through some of my things when my mother yelled for me to come downstairs. So I went downstairs and here there were these big ass bees flying all over the place. We spent about the next hour killing all of them and trying to find out where they were coming from. We then went up stairs and talked until 13:35 hours when Bill called and said that we were having a committee meeting at 14:00 hours. So I then headed into town. I went to Sheetz and got gas and then to the hardware store to pick up some expanding foam for at home. I then went to the "Barn". Bill was already there and we talked for a few minutes and then Sue showed up. We then had a short meeting and spent the rest of the time talking about things. My father then stopped and the four of us talked some and then we all left to head on home. Once at home I got on the computer and did a few things while I ate dinner. Around 18:25 hours me and my father headed into the shed to pick up 13-1 and then we headed on out to the Jackson Township building so he could talk to the people before the meeting on a few things. We were there for about 30 minutes and then we left and headed on home. I ate a snack and just finished watching a show on the history channel. New Tires

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 07:15 hours. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and read the paper and watched a little tv. I then left the house around 08:30 hours and headed on up to Troutman's in Millersburg and dropped my car off to get scheduled work done to it. I went in the waiting room and read until about 10:00 hours. Then I got up and walked around some until my car was done at 10:30 hours. After I paid I was told that I was going to need new tires soon. I got in my can then and went over to the Sentinel and went back and did some research. While I was back there, around 12:15 hours, I turned my pager back on and about 10 seconds later it went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. I hearrd Bill put 13-1 enroute right away. Come to find out that they were just heading out of Millersburg when the call came in. I finished up there around 14:30 hours and then headed on home. It was a good day, got through 3 years. I then stopped at Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription and waited on it, and then picked it up and headed on home. I stopped at the "Barn" to use the restroom and to see what all they had today. They had 3 calls today. After that I headed on home. When I got home my mother has just gotten home also. I then came inside and talked to her a little and then called up to Troutman's and set up a date for next Tuesday to have my tires put on. Were No. 8

Went to bed last night around 01:50 hours and got up this morning around 10:58 hours. I got out of bed and went out to the living room and turned on the tv so we could watch our tv show at 11:00 hours. I had just come out of my room and was putting my watch on, when the pager went off for a CVA in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. I went back to my bedroom and got dressed and got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I pulled in and Dohn and Bill already had 13-1 pulled out and running. I got on the back and off we went. We got up there and Jeff from Medic 6 was already there and in the room. He had Heidi with him and she is now a paramedic student. We got the lady loaded up and took her down to Osteo Hospital. While we were on our way down there, I heard thw tones go off for breathing problems in Millersburg Borough at Polk Assisted Living. I quickly called home and asked my mother if my father was feeling any better and she said yes and that he was going on the call. So I then quickly called Carol and told her that my father was heading into the shed and she said that she was on her way also. After we got what we needed down at the hospital, we headed on home. While we were heading on up, 13-2 went enroute to Harrisburg Hospital, BLS. We dropped Jeff and Heiid off at the Squad at SLV and then headed on back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and did a few other things. Dohn then left and then Carol and my father got back. We talked for a little bit and then my father headed on home. I left about 5 minutes after he did. Once at home I went inside and read the paper and then watched a little tv. I then ate dinner while I played a game on my computer. Watched the Penn State-Ohio State game on tv last night with my parents. Boy was that ever some game. It ended up with Penn State beating Ohio State 17-10. I will say it now with a grain of salt, but I believe that Penn State Football is back! After the game I watched the late news and then got online for a few hours. I then went to bed around 02:00 hours. I got up this morning around 09:05 hours and I got out of bed and I ate breakfast and read the paper. I then got dressed and left to go into church around 09:45 hours. I got there around 09:55 hours and parked right beside my brother. He transferred stuff from his car over into mine and then we went inside to greet for the 10:30 hours service. After we were done greeting, I left and headed on home. Once at home I took the cake into the house and out it in the fridge. I then helped my mother with a few more things and then got on the computer and played a game until 12:00 hours when my brother and grandparents showed up. They came from church. They came inside and they all changed into more comfortable clothes and then we were getting ready to have lunch. Around 12:25 hours the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Borough. My father left and him and Dohn took that one. We then sat down and had lunch and then afterwards my grandfather opened up his birthday gifts. We then sat down to watch the race. About 20 minutes after we started watching the race, my father got home. He had some lunch then and then we had my grandfather's birthday cake. We then sat at the table and talked until they left to head on home. After they left we cleaned up some and then sat down to watch the rest of the race. Mark Martin won the race and I am really happy for him. It has been a while since he has won a race. After the race my father asked me if I wanted to run for him tonight and I said yes. So I got changed and then headed on into the "Barn" for training tonight. When I got there, Dohn and Bill were already there. Scott then came in, followed by Sue. Class lasted for about one and a half hours. After that we talked a little bit and then I went to Rite Aid to get a birthday card for my father and one for Amanda. I then went up to Sheetz and got a magazine and then headed on home. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net and eat a light snack. A day of shopping

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours. Around 05:20 hours this morning the pager went off for a call in Halifax Township. I then got out of bed around 07:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and ate breakfast. Around 07:30 hours the pager went off for a suicide in Millersburg Borough. We then got hit for a fall person at Polk Assisted Living in Millersburg Borough. Shortly after that, Millersburg got both of thier ambulances out and we were placed in service. I then got dressed around 08:00 hours and we left shortly after that. On the way down, around 08:45 hours the pager went off for a sick person in Upper Paxton Township. Dohn and Carol went responding in 13-1. We got down to my grandparents house around 09:00 hours and we talked for about 15 minutes. Then, me, my brother and my mother got in my mother's van and we went on down to the new Sheetz built by the Harrisburg East Mall so we could get gas in her van. I went inside to look at this place. Man was it great. It has a sit down restaruant in it, they had 10 pots of different coffee sitting out, you can make you own milk shakes, like 15 different kinds of fountain sodas, the cases and bottles of soda are kept in a walk in fridge type room, full back wall of fridges, huge M&M selection, and much, much more stuff. Oh was it ever great. After that we headed on down to the Hershey Outlets to do some shopping. We went by the car show and there was a lot of cars there and a lot of people also despite the rain. We spent about 4 hours at the outlets and then we went to K-Mart to do a little more shopping, then we headed on back to my grandparents house. We stayed there and talked for about 45 minutes and then we left for home. On the way home we stopped at Giant and picked up a few things and then headed on home. Once at home we unloaded the stuff from the car. I then took a shower and am getting ready to eat dinner and hit the old email and surf the net a little bit. A fitting tribute

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and my father woke me up at 07:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and read the paper. I then watched a little tv. Then around 08:30 hours I started getting my dress blues on for the funeral today. My father got dressed and then we got in my car and headed on down to the church for the viewing and the services. We got down there around 09:20 hours. We went inside the church and payed our last respects to good old Johnny. We then talked to quite a few people and then the memorial service started at 11:00 hours. It lasted about 45 minutes and then they loaded him into the herase and then the prosession started. After the hearse, was Steelton's Rescue, Engine, Ambulance, and Fire Police Truck, then Penbroo's Engine. Oberlin's Engine, Londonderry Township's Attack Truck, Enhaunt's Special Unit, and then Hershey's Chief's Car. Then the vehicles started going out. We were in about the middle of the prosession, and they told me to just turn my blue light on when it was time to leave, which I did. When we got to the cementary, after we parked, they asked for all people in uniform to report to the hearse. So we went down there and they lined us up in two lines and we saluated the casket as it was carried between the two lines. It was a brief graveside service, followed with the sounding of the 5-5-5-5 Signal and the sounding of Paxtang's house siren. After that we headed back to the church for some lunch and we talked some more with a few people. We left there around 02:30 hours and we headed on home. Once at home I dropped my father off and headed back into town. I went to Sheetz and got gas and then headed back to the "Barn" for the committee meeting. I got there just as Bill was getting out of his truck. I went into the office and did a few things and then we waited for Sue to show up. She showed up and we started the meeting. Towards the end of the meeting, the power went off for about 7 - 8 minutes and then came back on for a few seconds and then went back off again. We stayed there for a few more minutes and then we all left. I headed for home and the power was still out when I got home. So I got changed and headed back into town. I ran up to Sue's and dropped off the money for the bracelts and then stopped at McDonalds and got something for me and my father and then headed on home. I stopped at the shed on my way out and the power was back on. I then headed for home and when I got home the power was still out. Here, come to find out that it was just our street that was out of power. Around 06:30 hours my father went to Carol's house to pick up the unit. Anout 3 minutes later the pager went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township. They went responding shortly. The power was just came back on around 21:20 hours. I just took a shower and am getting ready to eat a light snack and hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

MMMMMM....Cake

I stopped at the shed and dropped a cake off for this evening and then I went up to Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and picked up a few things and then headed back to the shed to do my paperwork on this mornings call. After I was done I talked to Bill for a little bit and then I headed on home. Once at home I hung Halloween decorations up outside and then I got on the computer and did a few things. I ate dinner at 17:20 hours and then I took a shower at 18:30 hours. I am getting ready to wrap a few birthday presents and then I will be hitting the old email and surfing the net. Quiet Day

Went to bed last night around 02:10 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. I got out of bed got dressed and ate breakfast and read the paper. I then watched a tv show at 11:00 hours. At 12:00 hours I helped mother load stuff into her car so she could go into the reclycling bins and then I got on the PS2 and played NASCAR Thunder 2004 for about 4 hours. I made lunch around 13:30 hours and I got off at 16:45 hours. I then ate dinner while I watched the news and then "That 70's Show", and ABC Evening News. Sue called me around 17:00 hours and asked me if I had heard anything about a fire in her Tower City dential office. I said no and she told me that she was on her way up there and that apparently the office was filled with smoke. I went back and got the fire pager then and listened to it. Around 18:00 hours I heard Command 24 place the box in service. I called Sue on her cell phone and asked her if she was there yet and she said yes. Here it turns out that an air conditioner unit on the roof of the office froze up and caught on fire, thus sending smoke into the building. I then talked to her for a few minutes about us having to cancel the meeting this Friday afternoon because I have to go to Johnny's funeral that day. I asked her if she would be able to maybe do it tonight and she said that she would think about it. I then called Bill and talked to him I told him that if we could not do it tonight, maybe tomorrow afternoon or even if we need to, make it for in the evening on Friday. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. It has been a quiet day so far, no calls. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Day Off

Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and was woken up sometime early this morning when the pager went off for breathing problems at the Community Medical Associates. I layed in bed listening to it and about 30 seconds later they cancelled both us and Medic 6. I reset my pager and went back to sleep. Then arond 10:10 hours the pager went off for a sick person in Upper Paxton Township. I got out of bed and read the paper while I listened to the call. Dohn, Carol, and Susie took it. I then read the paper and then watched a little tv. At 12:00 hours I went outside and walked 10 laps and then got the mail and came inside to watch a DVD. About that time I heard County ask Dohn if we had a second crew and he said no. County then dispatched a call for chest pains at Polk Assisted Living in Millersburg, for Medic 6 in place of 20. About 30 seconds later, Bill called the house and wanted to know if my father was home and I told him no. I then talked to Bill for a few minutes and then I hung up and made lunch. I then sat down to watch a DVD of Abbott and Costello. It was about 2 hours long. Very good, had two very funny hour long shows on it. I finished them up around 03:00 hours. My mother pulled in about 10 minutes later. She came in and we talked for about an hour and then I got on the computer and played a game until 17:30 hours when I got off to eat dinner and watch some tv. Around 15: 50 hours the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. Dohn, Carol and Bill took that one. I watched a little nit of the local news and then "That 70's Show" and then ABC World News Tonight. I then wacthed "Trauma, Life in the ER" I just finished eating my snack and am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. RIP Johnny Brandt

I want to start off tonight's blog with a tribute to Johnny Brandt. Johnny was a guy everyone liked. He was the Chaplain for the Steelton Fire Department, Chaplain of the Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Association, and was a Fire Police with the Steelton Fire Department. He was a well liked man by many people. My father has know him for some time now, and my grandmother worked with him at Wanamkers before they closed. I had known Johnny for almost 8 years now. He was a very laid back guy, always had a smile on his face and always greeted you in a happy way and a good hand shake. Johnny will surley be missed by a lot of people, and I believe that the conventions and meetings will not be the same without good old Johnny's voice and cheer present. So to my brother firefighter, I salute you!

Around 01:00 hours the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Township. My father got up and got dressed and got in his truck and headed to Carol's house. He got there and they went responding and they picked up Sue at the Post Office. I was sitting at home and I heard my father get on and ask county to dispatch company 29 for lifting assitacne. I quickly got dressed and got in my car and headed for the scene. I got there and Jeff Enders was there along with Medic 6. So after I showed up Jedd cancelled the fire department and we got him off of the floor and loaded up and they headed on down to Osteo. I headed on home. Once at home I finished up my email and then went to bed around 03:00 hours. At 03:30 hours, Sue called me on my cell phone and we talked for about 5 minutes until she got home then hung up. I went back to bed and got up this morning around 10:00 hours. My father did not go to work since he got home late. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate breakfats and read the paper. I then watched a little tv and then got on the computer and played a game for about 4 hours. I then ate dinner and then took a shoer at 18:00 hours. Then around 18:45 hours Larry Cook called and told me about Johnny. I then told my father, and then my mother called her mother and told her. Me and my father then got dressed and then headed into the "Barn" for the executive officers meeting tonight. We stopped at Fisherville and my father let them know about Johnny, and then we went into the shed for the meeting. We spent about one hour in there and the we talked some afterwards. We then headed on home. Once at home I ate a snack and am gettgin ready to hit the old email and surf the net. End over end, over end

Went to bed last night at 01:00 hours as I was really tired from yesterday. I got up this morning around 11:00 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed took my medication and then headed on into town. As I came upon Kiner's, Bill was sitting on Rutter Road, waiting to pull out. I passed him and waved. He then followed me all the way to Giant. He went to Giant and I went to McDonald's and got a small meal for lunch. I then headed back to the "Barn" to do my paperwork from last nights two calls. There was a surprise birthday party for Anne May at the shed, so the place was packed. I left there around 13:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then I came out and read the paper and then watched the race coming from Talladega. Boy that was some race. 8 Cautions during the race. Two of the "Big One" The first one happened on lap 20, collecting about 10 cars, and sending Michael Waltrip rolling over at least two times, just destroying his car, with the rear axle having been torn from the frame. Mark Martin was also involved in the crash and his hols front end was demolished, with the raditor being drug on the ground. The second big crash came later in the race taking out at least 8 cars. Scott Riggs was hit and flipped onto his roof. He slip along the track on his roof for about 150 feet, and then he started rolling over. He rolled over about 3-1/2 times before coming to a rest on his wheels. Riggs car almost landed on top of Jeff Burton's car, but the only thing that hit Burton's car was the hood and raditor from Riggs car. After that most of the cautions were either for debries or single car crashes. Dale Jarret won the race under a green-white-checkered finish. It has been a while since he has won a race so I was happy for him. Then as we were watching the post-race show, around 18:30 hours the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. My father got up and got dressed and headed to the sceen while Dohn and Sue brought the unit out from the shed. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be going to Giant with my mother tonight around 00:00 hours. So I will be on until then, and then probally will be back on after we get home. Open House

Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 08:00 hours when my father woke me up. I got out of bed and got dressed and then read the sports section of the paper and got some things together and put them in 13-2 and headed into the "Barn". We got there and Viv and Gary were there. My father quickly moved his truck out of the bay and I went back and went to work coping the mounting directions for the house number signs. Bill then showed up and he helped my father loaded the stuff into the unit. We then got in and headed on out to station 29. We stopped at McDonald's and me and my father ran inside and got something to eat for breakfast. We then headed on out to station 29. We got there and they backed us into one of the bays and we started sitting things up. Duncannon was already there with there ladder truck and PSP and the town cop were already there also as well as the blood mobile. Then as we were setting up, the forestry department showed up, followed by Colonial Park, then Rescue of Susquehanna Township, followed by King's Fitness from out by Kiner's. Millersburg had dropped off their smoke house for Halifax to use. Then Smokey the Bear showed up, followed by the Halifax Communities That Care, then Medic 6, and our other unit with Dohn and Sue on, and then the local boy scout troop. After Dohn and Sue showed up, Scott came. We all stood around talking for a little bit and then me and Dohn went out back to watch the vehicle rescue demonstration. After that was over we went back inside and boy had the crowd ever grow. It was packed. We gave away 59 out of 60 bags today. 29 also gave out stuff, along with Colonial Park, the forestry department, and PSP and the town cop were doing indentification kits. Duncannon was giving ladder truck rides and then Halifax was giving fire engine rides for the kids. We had no calls while we were there. We left there around 14:10 hours and headed back to the shed. We then unloaded everything and we talked for a little back in the office, and then all four of us left. Once we got home, I sat down and read the rest of the paper and then watched the Penn State game on tv with my mother and father. I ate dinner while I watched the game. Just as the fourth quarter had started, the pager went off for a fall person in Halifax Borough. My father got his boots on and I got my radio and went out to the unit and started it up and put us responding. We got there and loaded the kid and the mother up and took them down to Harrisburg Hospital. We ended putting them in Triage. After we got what we needed, we headed on home. We stopped at the shed and went inside. I logged our times in and pulled my times up. I had just started on the paperwork from this call, when the pager went off for a sick person in Halifax Township. I logged out of Quick trip and we both got in the unit and off we went. We got that lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on home. We stopped at the shed and logged our times in and pulled my times up. I then put them in my folder and we headed on home. I just finished eating my snack and am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net.
