Boyd's Bear Bingo

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper and ate lunch. I then left the house at 12:08 hours and headed up to the fire house for Boyd's Bear Bingo today. I got there and LeeAnn was already there. Jason and Bill then showed up shortly after I got there. We had 19 players today, a very small turnout. I ended up calling the whole game as Bubba had to go to work this evening and he was still sleeping. Bingo went very good and after it was over, Myself, Jason, LeeAnn, Reba, Martha, Kevin, Sabrina, and Sandra all sat around and talked for about 2 hours, and boy were we ever laughing. I left there and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now eating dinner. I am also getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Very Boring Day

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then read the paper. Around 11:20 hours, the pager went off for breathing problems in Washington Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed to the church in Fisherville. The whole time while I was heading to the church and even after I had parked at the church, I was calling Carol on the private. Apparently Carol did not hear me, but Alf and Kim did as Sue told me that later. 20 went available and county asked them if they would take it, which they said that they would and we were placed in service. So I headed on home and once at home I finished reading the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched Qualifing at Talladega on TV. I then got on the computer around 15:00 hours and watched the BUSCH race from Talladega. I then ate dinner while I watched the end of the race. I am now watching the Craftsman Truck Series from Kansas and getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Testing

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 13:00 hours. I wanted to make sure I got enough sleep and was well rested before I took the CritiCall test this evening at county. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then ate lunch and read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer for a little bit to do a few things. I then got changed into the clothes I was going to wear down to the test. I left the house at 15:50 hours to head on down to County. As I was driving on Armstrong Valley Road, my low washer fluid light came on. So I stopped at the "Barn" and grabbed a bottle of washer fluid and put it in my car. I then continued on down to County. I got down there at 16:34 hours. I then went inside and went downstairs. Faust was the test administrator and he had a big smerk on his face when he saw it was me. He opened the door and with the smerk on his face said "get the fuck back here". He took me back into a room with a computer and had me put in my SSN and my name and address and telephone number and so on. He then explained some general rules to me. The test would take 1 -1/2 to 2 hours to complete, I could not use pen and paper to copy anything down. I then started the test. I basically breezed through the first part of the test. I then ran into some minor issues with the memory section of the test. After I was done I had to go tell Faust. I went out into the Comm Center and did not see him there so I went over to the Supervisiors pod and talked to the guy there. He told me that Dave was back on EMS dispatching. So I went back there and he was taking a call. So I kind of just stood there until he looked at me and I gave him a thumbs up to let him know that I was done. I then went out to my car and sent a text message to Alf, Amanda, Bill, Jess, Kim, and Sue letting them know I was done and that I thought I did really well on the test. I then called Bill while I was driving on my way home. Amanda then called me to ask me where I was at before her and her mother went to get the ambulance. I stopped at McDonald's to get something to eat and there was a line of black kids there so I decided to go to Wendy's and get something to eat. Once I got something to eat I headed on home. I then called my mother to let her know how the test went. I then stopped at Sue's house to drop off the epxo tickets and talked about the test. Alf and Jessica then came over to Amanda could dye Jessica's hair. So while Amanda dyed Jessica's hair, me, Sue and Alf talked. I got there at probally around 19:45 hours and left there at 23:15 hours to head on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Clare Flucker

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 06:42 hours this morning when the fire pager went off for a medical assist in Jackson Township. I jumped out of bed and started taking my pj's pants off when I looked at the clock and saw what time it was. Of course I was pissed becuase I was on duty with the ambulance and was not able to go with the fire company. So I went back to bed and listened to the pager until the box was placed in service. I then put my fire pager back and went back to sleep. I was rocked out of bed again around 08:00 hours when the pager went off for a CVA in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and Dohn was already there. I parked my car and then got in 13-2 and off we went. Scott went to the scene and once we got there we loaded the lady up and it ended up being released to BLS and I drove down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the shed I logged my time in and then headed to Giant to pick up some things. After I was done at Giant I headed on home. Once at home I read the paper. I then made and ate lunch while I watched some TV and got on the computer to do a few things. Around 12:34 hours the pager went off for seizures in Dalmatia. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the shed. By the time we got in there, 6-3 had gone responding and we were placed in service. So I turned around and headed on home. Once back at home I watched All My Children on TV while I was on the computer. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I left the house at 17:25 hours and headed up to the fire house. Once there I picked up my gear and headed into Station 29. We did a review before the test and then we had the test. I got an 86 so I passed. There were 6 people who failed the test and I while not name 5 of them. The one person that I will name who failed was Eric, so I had to chuckle. After we got our scores and the class talked some, I headed on home. I swung by Sue's house to drop of her epxo tickets. I knocked on the door and Bob did not answer so I went back to my car and texted Sue and asked her if she was home. She said she was sleeping and asked me if we could do it tonight. I told her that was fine and I would stop on my way home. I then stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then headed on home. I then stopped at the fire house and dropped off my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Nothing All Day

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street cloths. I then went outside and finished taking down the old coal bin while my mother ran Toby up to the vets. After I was done I came inside and read the paper and then ate lunch. I then helped my mother move the wood from the coal bin down to the back of the yard and lay it on the dirt for now. I then came back inside and we sat down to watch All My Children on TV. After the show was over I got on the computer to do some things. I left the house at 17:13 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good and after it was over, myself LeeAnn and Jason went down to the fire house and talked. I left and headed on home at 23:00 hours. Another Fire at McDonald's

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then read the paper. I was just finishing up the Sports section, the pager went off for a sick person in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and Scott was still there. He said he was going to head up to the scene awhile. Carol then showed up and we got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and Medic 6 and Scott were already there. Carol told me to go ahead and get out awhile and go in. So I got out and grabbed the bag and went in the trailer that had the door open. There was a guy standing in the kitchen, I went around him and started back the hall way, when I noticed the bedroom was set up differently. That was when I realized that I was in the wrong trailer. I went outside and found out that the guy was sitting outside at a picnic table talking to Scott and Medic 6. We got the guy loaded up and started on our way down to Harrisburg Hospital. While on the way down he started to crash on us again. First he vomited and then his mental status started to decrease dramatically. I ended up bagging him once we hit Front Street and they ended up tubing him at the hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the shed, Bill was there. I got my times and logged my times in and then did the paperwork from the call. After I was done I headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then I made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 17:28 hours and headed up to the fire house. Once there I picked up my gear and then headed into Station 29. Class was all about Hazmat tonight. Then at 20:46 hours, we got hit for a medical assist on Miller's Church Road. Tom asked if we had anyone home and we said we did not know. We said we knew that Bubba was working and Robby probally had the kids. Tom told LeeAnn to call Robby and ask him if he needed any help. Robby said he did not know yet. Tom said that he was going to finish the Hazmat lecture and then do a review tonight, and then have the test on Thursday, with no review before hand. He said that if we felt comfortable reading the rest of the Hazmat, we could go. Tom then told us to call Robby again to see who all he had, and he told LeeAnn that he would call her once he got out to the scene. So Tom continued on with class and then about 10 minutes later, Alf came in and leaned down beside me and told me that Robby called him and told him that they needed more help then what they had. About that time, the Engine went enroute and Alf said never mind. We then started the review, when all of a sudden Alf got off of his cell phone. He said to Tom that he hated to rain on his parade, but that there was a structure fire at McDonald's. Everyone in the classroom scrambeled. I grabbed my books and ran out to my car. LeeAnn said she was heading to the station and Eric said he was going to the scene. I got in my car and then took off for the scene. I got there behind Eric and parked my car. I got out and got my gear on and then went over to talk to the Manager and go inside to see where the smell was coming from. Bisking then showed up and I went out and told him where I had smelled and showed him where. Engine 29-1 then showed up and I went back outside. They then asked for the manager and I went over and took her inside and then stayed inside. We found out that it ended up being in the electrical panel. After we were done there, I ran over to Giant and picked up a gallon of iced tea and some cooking spray and then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped off my gear and got times for both of the calls and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and will be going to bed soon as I am tired.

Another Step Closer

Went to bed last night at 01:20 hours and got up this morning at 06:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and then got changed into street clothes. Me and my mother then got in her van and headed on down to Colonial Park for our doctor's appointments this morning. After our doctor appointments, we stopped at the Giant in Union Deposit and picked up a few things. We then stopped at the bank and I deposited some money and then we headed over to Big Lots to look around. After we were done there, we headed on back home. We stopped at the Giant up here and I picked up some soda. We saw Bill's mother at Giant and we talked for a few minutes and then continued on home. We stopped at he recycling bins and dropped off some stuff and then finally headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do some things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and took the oxygen tank inside and sat it on the cooler. LeeAnn was there and we talked for a little bit. Bubba then came up and Eric showed up. Bill was next and then two guys from Carsonville Fire Company showed up. Jason then was next, followed by the people who were donating the doggie mask, then Eric from Millersburg Fire Company. Halifax Fire Department came in last, brining both engines out. After we recieved the mask and posed for pictures, myself, Alf, Keith, George, Matt, Eric, Waylon, and Bubba all stood around and talked. Halifax then left and Bubba backed the Engine in. We then sat around and talked and then LeeAnn left. We all then went to leave and we had some problems with the tailgate on the Utility again. So Bubba, myself, Jason and Eric were all looking at it and Bubba said he wanted to see if it would close. So he was telling us to watch our fingers and he slammed the tail gate shut, and ended up closing it on his ring and pinky fingers on his right hand. He was able to pull his fingers out and he went walking over to the sink. I went over to take a look at it. He had a cut on the top and bottom of his ring finger. I grabbed his hand and told him we had to wash it off to clean it up. I then yelled over to Eric to grab the medical bag out of the Engine and bring it over, which he did. I then told him to get me a 4 x 4 and I then cleaned up the cuts a little bit more. I then had him give me two more 4 x 4's and I wrapped them around Bubba's finger and then secured them with some 1/2" tape. He then went down to his house and the three of us looked at the tail gate. I finally shoved the handle back up in and got it working again. I then went down to Bubba's house to let him know it was working ok again and Jess was outside smoking. I told Bubba we got it working again and then me and Jess started talking about the punch board for bingo. Eric then called my cell phone and told me that there was a guy at the fire house with a flag. I then saw Robin and told her and she told Bubba who went back up. Robin then offered me a piece of pizza and I took her up on her offer and had a slice of pizza. I then sat down and got talking with Jess for close to almost 2 hours. I left there at 21:05 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and just had a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Pork and Beef Dinner

Went to bed last night at 01:40 hours and got up this morning at 06:00 hours when my alarm went off. I reset my alarm for 06:30 hours and then went back to sleep. I got up again at 06:30 hours when my alarm went off for a second time. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then went outside and got the paper. I then ate breakfast and read the comics and sports sections of the paper. I left the house at 07:45 hours and headed on up to the fire house. I got there and LeeAnn, Robin and Bill were already there. I parked and went into the hall. Jason then showed up next, followed by Martha, Dave, Helen and then Bubba. The dinner went well. We served a total of 134 people over 3 hours. The crew from medic 6 showed up towards the end and I was actually surprised to see the Tindel actually came down. We got to eat after everyone had left and the food was very, very good. We then cleaned everything up and then had the festival meeting afterwards. I handed in my poster ad from the garage. After the festival meeting, myself, Bubba, LeeAnn, Lonny and Lyle went down to the fire house to shot the shit until Jason got back. Once Jason got back we set to work washing all three trucks. I took the Utility into Shell and got gas while they worked on the Tanker. When I got back, they were still working on the Tanker. After we finished the Tanker, we washed the Utility. Robby then came back from his burn class in Reading and we all sat down to listen to his stories. After he told us his stories, we washed the Engine. I left there around 21:15 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and had a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Whole Lot of Calls

Went to bed lat night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 06:02 hours when the pager went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. 20 got out and Sue called me to let me know that the unit was back at the "Barn". We ended up talking until she got home and then we both went back to bed. I was rocked out of bed again at 07:20 hours when the pager went off for a fall victim in Upper Paxton Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I pulled in behind Carol and we both got in 13-2 and off we went. After we got that lady loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. As we were coming down our side of the mountian, Millersburg was dispatched for an accident with Injuries in Upper Paxton Township. Chief 20-B went on location and asked for a second BLS unit to be dispatched to the scene and county called us and we went repsonding. We got there and got the lady loaded up and then I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital again. After we got what we needed, we headed on back again. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then got in my car and started on home. I got about half way there when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. I turned around and headed back to the shed. I parked and got back in 13-2 and off we went. We got the lady loaded up again and headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at her squad and then went back to the shed. Bill was there when we got back. Once I got there, I logged my time in and then did my paperwork from the call. I then headed on home. I swung by the fire house and talked to Bubba, Candy, and LeeAnn. I then continued on home. Once at home I read the paper and then got on the computer to do a few things. I ate dinner while I was on the computer. I then took a shower and am now watching the race fomr Phenoix and getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. In Amanda's Bed

Went to bed Wendesy night at 03:00 hours and got up Thursday morning at 12:00 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch and read the paper. Sue called me while I was watching All My Children. She asked me if I could come over and help her put Amanda's bed together. I told her that was not a problem and that I would be over after my soap opera was over. I left the house a little after 14:00 hours and stopped at the fire station and picked up my gear for class. Bubba and Bill were there and I talked to them for a few minutes. I then decided to stop at the "Barn" and do my two tripsheets from earlier in the week. Bill stopped in also to do some work on the website. After I was done with my tripsheets I headed on over to Sue's house. I got there and we went to work moving the furniture around in Amanda's room and putting her bed together. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to put her bed together. I then ran up to McDonald's and got something to eat for both myself, Sue an Eros. I then stopped at Shell and got two bottles of Gatorade for class and then headed on back to Sue's house. I ate dinner there and then Amanda came home. Amanda was surprised to see her bed put together. I then left and headed over to Station 29. Once I got there I was not feeling the best, but decided to stay for class since we needed to be signed off on everything we were doing that night. We praticed exuinghers and hooking up to a hydrant and an engine. I ended up vomting once after I finished using the extinguisher. After class was done I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at the fire hosue and dropped off my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then went straight to bed as I was not feeling well.

I got up this morning at 12:00 hours and got out of bed and got dressed. I then ate lunch, read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. The Pager went off at 12:40 hours for a call in Millersburg, but 20 got out and we were placed in service. After my soap opera, I got on the computer to do the minutes on the township website and Bill sent me training pics from the Essentials class. The pager then went off at 14:40 horus for a call in Millersburg and again 20 got out and we were cancelled. Then at 15:51 hours the pager went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township. It was in the lower devlopment so I went to the scene. Once Dohn got there with 13-2 we got the lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We stopped at Sheetz and Tindel got something to drink and I got something to eat for dinner. I then went out to my car and once I got my car I headed on home. Once at home I changed clothes and went up to the fire house to help set up for the Pork and Beef Dinner on Sunday. I then left and headed into town to get my hair cut and then headed back out to the fire house. I left there at 21:30 hours and headed on home. Not a Whole Lot

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 13:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then read the paper. I then read Chapter 15 of my Essentials book and did the workbook also. I then letf for the fire house around 17:10 hours. I got up there and got things ready for bingo. I called the second half of bingo. After bingo was over we went down to the fire house and me, Bubba, and Jason all sat around and talked. I left there at 00:35 hours and headed on home. Essentials Slowly Winding Down

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 09:07 hours when the pager went off for a fall victim in Millersburg Borough at Polk Assisted Living. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and then pulled 13-1 out. Dohn got there and off we went. We got there and Tim was the medic on the MICU. Tindel had been canceled on another Millersburg call and came to Polk to help. Tim released the Pt. to BLS after talking to command and Tindel ripped him a new one for doing so. Tindel told Tim that once he got back to medic 6's station, to take his gear off of the truck and his was grounded until Tindel got back to talk to him. It was an interesting call and we took the lady down to Osteopathic Hospital. After we got what we needed we headed on back. On the way back, we had just come out of Matamoaras when 20 got hit for a CVA call at SLV and county dispatched Company 1 for ALS. Tindel got on the radio and said that he was on his way back on our unit and that he would respond to the scene and to place 1 in service. I turned the lights on and headed to Millersburg to drop Tindel off at his squad. After we dropped him off we headed back to the shed. Once there, I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I talked to my mother for a little bit and then sat down to eat lunch and read the paper. I had eaten a few chips and two crackers when the pager went off at 12:30 hours for a fall victim at King's Fitness in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We stopped at Shell and got fuel for the trucks. Engles called Dohn and told him that 13-2 was done. So we ran up to Engle's and Dohn brought 13-2 back to the shed. I headed back to the shed after I dropped Dohn off and once I got there, I logged my time in. Once Dohn got there we headed out to his house in 13-1. After I got my car I headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then read the paper. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I left the house at 17:26 hours and headed up to the fire house to pick up my gear. After I got my gear I headed into Station 29 for class. Class was on Hazmat tonight and we got done around 21:30 hours and we all left. I stopped at Sheetz and grabbed a dougnut and then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped off my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Sad Day for this Country

Went to bed last night at 03:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 11:45 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and then got in 13-1 and off we went. We got on the scene and Bill was already there. He told me later that he had just left the doctor's office when the call came in and he turned around and went back. We got the guy loaded up and then took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at his squad and then went back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and put my tripsheet in my folder and headed on home. Once at home my mother told me about the shooting at Virginia Tech. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone envoled in this sad act of viloence. I read the paper and watched the coverage on the TV. I then got on the computer to do some things. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. I got there and Eric was sitting in the station and LeeAnn was up in the hall. I went up into the hall and talked with LeeAnn. The meeting was really short tonight and I was heading for home around 20:40 hours. Once at home I took a shower and then ate a light snack while I watched Dateline on TV. An Engine Rolled Over

Went to bed last night at 01:00 hours as I was really tired. I got up this morning at 06:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and took my water out to the fridge and then came back into the bedroom to get changed and made the mistake of laying down on my bed and I fell back to sleep. I woke back up at 06:50 hours when stupid Keiffer called my cell phone. I then got up again and got changed into street clothes. I grabbed my books and my Gatorades and then got in my car and went up to the fire house. I got there and Helen, LeeAnn and Troy were already there. I went inside and put my books and drinks in the cab of the Utility. I then brought my gear over and sat it beside the Utility. Andy and Keiffer then showed up. We then loaded our gear in the Utility and then Lonny showed up. We left the fire house around 07:20 hours and we stopped at McDonald's on our way in to get breakfast. After we got our breakfast, we went to Station 29 and parked and went inside. We did 1 and a half chapters of the Hazmat before we had to get out of the class room as it was rented. So we went out into the bays and they moved some stuff around. We backed our Engine into the bay and they moved the Sutphen around some. We then sat an axe, pike pole, ladder, box fan, uncharged hose line and a charged hose line out so we could pratice tieing our knots. We then broke for lunch. After lunch we moved the equipment around and then we all lined up and went through tieing knots around the different equipment. We then started pulling 5" off the back of our Engine and re packing it. After I was done doing that, I was pretty much done for the day. I helped Amanda get up and of of our Engine and then helped her and Jamie Shoop with the 2-1/2" crosslay. We had just finished re packing out 5" when 29 get hit to transfer an engine down to Station 37-1. Well through the grape line, we found out that Engine 37-1 had rolled onto it's roof while on their way to an accident on the Interstate. After we were done at Station 29, we headed on back. We stopped at Shell and got fuel for the trucks. We then continued on out to the station. Once there we backed both pieces in and then unloaded all of our gear and I put my books in my car. Me, LeeAnn, Andy and Eric then sat around and talked. Bubba then came up once he got everything unpacked from getting home. Andy and Eric then left and then me, Bubba and LeeAnn worked on the federal grant. I ordered a small pizza and had them deliver it to the fire house. We left there around 23:20 hours. I had grabbed a flash light off of the Utility and went and checked the creeks, which were perfectly fine. I then dropped the flashlight back off at the station and put it back in the Utility and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am really tired from this weekend.

Hose and Knots, Hose and Knots

Went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 06:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then ran outside and got the paper. I then read the paper while I ate breakfast. I then left the house at 06:55 hours and headed up to the fire station. I got there and LeeAnn, Andy, Helen and Keiffer were already there. Once there, I put my books in the cab of the Utility. Troy then showed up at the fire station. We then loaded the new hose in the back of the Utility. And then I put my gear in the back of the Utility. We waited at the station until 07:32 hours for Lonny to show up and he ended up driving into Station 29 any ways. Andy, LeeAnn and Helen all went on the Engine and Keiffer went with me in the Utility. We stopped at McDonald's and we all got something to eat. We then stopped at Shell and got something to drink and then continued to Station 29. It was a long day. The first half of the day we did hose rolls. The service roll, donut roll, twin donut roll, a hi-rise roll and then we went over how to pack a horse shoe load, a acordian load, and then a foward and reverse lay. We then went over how to deploy a minuteman load one person and two person. We then watched how it was re packed. We then broke for lunch. We had pizza and some people ordered subs. It was also Sammy Pottiger and Bob Pottigers birhtdays today, so there were a few cakes there also. After lunch we went back out and moved Engine 29 outside and parked it in front of one of the bay doors and then Andy pulled our Engine over. We then went to work pulling cross lays off and re packing them. While we were doing that, the people that were not pulling cross lays were in the bay doing their knots. We pulled hose for close to 2 hours and then we switched. So I finished up doing knots. We had them pack the new hose in the cross lays. Class was over by 17:15 hours and we headed on back to the fire station. Once there, I unloaded my gear and then we moved the hose from the Utility to the hose rack. We all then headed on home. Once at home I took a nice long relaxing shower and then ate dinner while I played on the PS2. I then relaxed on the bed for about and hour and watched TV. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give m a buzz.

Brass Pole in Station

Went to bed last nigth at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 12:04 hours when Bill sent me a text message on my cell phone. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch, read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to start typing up a list of all the Dauphin County past and present fire and EMS apparatus I have to email to a guy who is looking for pictures to complete his Dauphin County photo album. I ate dinner and watched MASH while I did this. It took me close to 3 hours to type the list for the guy. I then left the house at 18:40 hours to headed on down to Station 37-1 for the County Firemen's meeting tonight. I stopped at Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription for my mother and then continued on down to Station 37-1. I got there at 19:15 hours and went inside the bay where they were holding the meeting. I met my father there. The inside of the station is very nice and they even have a brass pole in the bay. The meeting was a little bit longer then normal, ending at 21:15 hours. We then ate after the meeting and I left there close to 22:00 hours to head on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and picked up a few things. I then stopped at the "Barn" and dropped off my May schedule and logged in my time for Friday and then headed on home. Another Busy Day

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 10:55 hours when my cell phone rang. It was Bubba. He asked me if I could help him pick up Mrs. Shultz at her house. I told him I would be up there in a few minutes. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed up to the house. As I was pulling onto Church Street, my pager went off for a sick person, class 1 in Elizabethville Borough. I quickly ran inside and helped Bubba get Mrs. Shultz up and then went over to the church parking lot. I parked my car and Dohn picked me up in front of Bubba's house and we continued up to Eville. We ended up cancelling Perry Medic 81 and after we got the lady loaded up, I drove down to Osteopathic. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. As we passed the shed on my way out to pick up my car, the pager went off fo breathing problems in Halifax Borough. I turned around and we headed back into the Borough. It was one of our frequent fliers. We got him loaded up and Medic 6 got on board and we started down to Osteopathic, but ended up diverting to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at Sheetz and then ran out and picked up my car. I then headed back into the "Barn". Bill was there doing his tripsheets when I got there. I logged my time in and then did my tripsheet and fixed another tripsheet. I then headed on home. Once at home I quickly changed and ate dinner and then left at 17:30 hours. I stopped at he fire house and picked up my gear and then continued on into Station 29. Class was on Ropes and Knots tonight and we praticed how to tie knots. After class was over I stopped at Giant and got Oatmeal for my mother and then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped of my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Fire Call

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 11:02 hours when the fire pager went off for an accident with injuries at Rutter and Rettinger Roads. I jumped out of bed and scrambeled to get dressed, grabbed my hat, wallet, fire pager, cell phone and keys and jumped in my car and headed up to the fire station. I followed Ray up to the fire house and pulled in behind him. Bubba already had the Engine pulled out. So I ran inside and got my gear on and jumped in the Engine with Jason and Jason. We then wetn responding and Dave brought the Utility. It was a minor fender bender. It involved our local mail lady. We were on scene for about 1 hour and then headed back to the fire house. Once there, I filled out the report and then stayed there while Bubba entered two reports. I then headed home around 13:20 hours. Once at home I ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then read the paper and my mother came home. I then watched MASH on TV and then headed up to the fire house for bingo. Bingo went good and then I sat at the fire hosue with Bubba an LeeAnn and we bullshited. I left there at 00:50 hours and headed on home. I am soon going to crash as I am tired.

Phone Finally Working for Good

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:20 hours when my mother said that FedEx was out front. My new SIM Card finally showed up. I got it and came inside and got changed into street clothes. No paper came today so I had not paper to read. I called Cingular right away and got my new SIM card activated. At first a had some problems with it, but then it worked out fine. I then made and ate lunch while I downloaded ring tones to my cell phone, and also while I watched All My Children on TV. Then at 14:00 hours I finished reading Chapter 10 of my Essentials book and then doing the Chapter 10 section of my workbook. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 17:20 hours and stopped at the fire house and picked up my gear and the air pack. I then headed into Station 29. Class went good tonight, we went over hose and hose tools and how to advance hose, and so on. After class, I headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped of my gear and the air pack and then continued on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Lot of Calls

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 06:05 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked, went inside and pulled 13-2 out. Dohn then showed up and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital with Tindell on board, which was a surprise in itself that he actually went down. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped Tindel off at his squad and then ran back up to Shell and got fuel and then went back to the shed. Once there, I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then ran up to Rite Aid and got a pack of hearing aid batteries. I then ran over to Giant and picked up a few things and headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and watched a little TV. I was getting ready to get on the PS2 when the pager went off around 11:15 hours for an accident with injuries in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and the guy had a seizure while he was driving and his pickup hit a tree head on. 29 had to cut the roof off of the vehicle. We got the guy loaded up and Medic 6 got on board and we took the guy down to Hershey Medical Center. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at Sheetz and I ran inside and got something to eat for lunch. We then headed back out to Dohn's house. Once there I picked up my car and headed back into the shed. Once there I logged my time in again and did the paperwork from the accident while I ate lunch and talked to Bill. While I was there, the pager went off for a CVA in Upper Paxton Township. 20-2 were on there way back and went responding and we were placed in service. I had just finished my tripsheet when the pager went off for a fall victim in Halifax Township. Dohn picked me up at the shed and we headed to the scene. The lady just needed help getting back up and was not hurt. After we helped the lady up we went back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I started reading Chapter 10 of my Essentials book. I read for about 1 hour and 20 minutes and I only hit the middle of the chapter. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left at 18:00 hours and headed into Station 29 for the CPAP Class tonight. I got to see Sue again and it was nice to see her and talk to her. Class went ok, a little borning. After class was over I stopped at Giant and picked up a gallon of milk and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Happy Easter!!

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:00 hours. I got two texted messages on my cell phone. One from Amanda and one from Bill. Both said Happy Easter. I replied to them and sent Happy Easter texts to Sue, Kim, and Alf. I then took a shower and changed into street clothes and then read the comics. We then loaded my mothers car up and headed on down to my grandpartents house for Easter dinner. We got down there and we ate at 13:15 hours. Once again my grandfather's ham was so delicous and tasted the best as always. After we ate dinner we sat and talked. We then had desert and then talked some more. We left there at 18:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I got on the PS2 and played a game of college football. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Some More Problems With the Cell Phone

Last night I tried to download rings tones and ran into problems with my MEdia Net on the cell phone. I talked to Customer Service at Cingular for 2 hours last night and they said that it was probally a data problem on their end. The lady told me to try again in an hour and if that did not work to call them back today. I tried before I went to bed and still no luck. I went to bed at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 09:30 when my mother woke me up. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then tried the cell phone again and again no luck. So I then ate lunch while I talked to Customer Service at Cingular again. This time the lady told me that it sounded like a problem with the software on my cell phone and that I needed to send the phone back and have Letstalk.com send me a new phone. My father then talked to her and I headed up to the fire house. I got there and LeeAnn and Katina were there. The Utility was pulled out and parked in front of the hall. The three of us then pilled in the Utility and headed over to Enders-Fisherville Elementary School. Jean was already there when we got there. We unloaded the tubs from the back of the Utility and then set up the cones and the string. Robin then showed up, followed by Jason, and then Bill. Bill had to run my cell phone back down to the house as my father needed it and then he came back. All I can say is boy was it really cold out. We also had a few passing snow squals go through. It turned out really well. After we were done, we loaded everything back in the Utility and then went back to the station. We got back and LeeAnn pulled the Engine out and asked me to back the Utility in. We then all sat around and shot the shit. I then headed on home and my mom told me that we would have to send my cell phone back to Letstalk.com, which I already knew. I then called Bill and told him I would go back on duty now. I thanked him and then called Carol to let her know and got changed into my uniform. I then read the paper while I watched the Busch race on TV. I then also ate dinner while I watched the Busch race. I then went back to my room and had a brain storm. I took my mothers cell phone. I took my SIM card out of my phone and put it in hers and tried to access MEdia Net, and I got the error message. I then tried her SIM card in my phone. I had tried this earlier today and it came back with an error message. But this time when I tried it, I was able to access MEdia Net on my phone. I then tried my card in my phone and got the error message. I tried this a few more times to confrim what I thought the problem was and then called Cingular. After I told the lady what the problem was, she agreed with me that the problem was with my SIM card and not my cell phone. We then watched Happy Feet on DVD. Boring day

Went to bed last night at 04:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:50 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate lunch and then read the paper. I then watched All My Children on TV. I then read Chapter 9 of my Essentials Book. I then got on the computer to do a few things. There were no calls today so it was a borning day. I then ate lunch while I watched MASH on TV. Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 05:04 horus when the pager went off for a fall victim in Jackson Township.. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and Dohn was already there. He was sitting in the passngers seat of 13-2. I got in and drove to the call. After we got the lady loaded up I drove down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed down there we headed on back. Once back at the shed I logged my time in and then went to Giant and picked up 3 boxes of popsicles. I then headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed to try and get some sleep. I got up at 11:45 hours and got dressed. I then ate lunch and read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. At 13:40 hours the pager went off for vomiting at SLV in Upper Paxton Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed into the shed. I got there and pulled 13-2 out. Dohn then showed up and off we went. After we got the guy loaded up I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. Once back at the shed I logged my time and then headed to Community Banks and cashed my check and then headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then ate dinner while my father worked on getting our phones working. He got them working and I got my blue tooth paried with my cell phone. I then left the house at 17:19 hours and headed up to the fire house. Once there I grabbed my gear and put it in my trunk and then grabbed the air pack, mask and spare cylinder and put them in my car and then headed into Station 29. I got in there and took my books in and then brought the air pack and cylinder in. Class was good tonight, not as boring as Tuesday's class. Amanda came in late due to her job. Boy did she look good tonight. White sweater with an american flag on it, blue jeans with holes in the knees, and knee high brown boots. While class was going on, we heard Sue and Kim get dispatched to 26 South Elmer Avenue in Halifax Township for an unconscious person. Me and Amanda started talking and we made a small bet on weather they woulf fly the guy out or not. We know him as a frequent flyer. Well they ended up flying him and I lost the bet. Tom gave us a break when he heard that they were landing the chopper at the station. I gave Amanda her $20.00 and then we waited for the ambulance to show up. We both decided to hop on the unit when it got there and help out. Once it got there we both got in the back. Amanda ended up baaging some while I helped out with some odds and ends. They then transffered him over to the flight crew and off they went. We then went back to class. After class was over I headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and Tom pulled in. I talked to him about the county dispatcher job. I then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to crash in bed as I am tired.

ABC East Bowling Lanes up in Smoke

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 12:00 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. When we turned the TV on, ABC27 had the ticker scrolling along the bottom of the screen. It said about the ABC East Bowling lanes were on fire. I saw pictures of it and it was a very working fire. I have good memories of that place. When my brother was going to Central Pennsylvania Business School (now college) in 1995 and 1996, during the summer when I would spend the summer with my grandparents, he always used to tale me bowling at the ABC East Bowling Lanes. Now it has burned to the ground and was demolished as of tonight. I then got on my computer at 14:00 hours and me and my mother went over some ring tones for her new cell phone. I then left for the fire house at 17:15 hours. Once up there I went in to the call and a few of the people said it felt cold in the hall and they turned the heat up. I went back and heard the furnace running. A few minutes later I heard one of them say they heard water running. Bill had showed up by that time and I asked him for his flashlight and went back to check. Sure enough there was about 1 to 1-1/2" of water on the floor around the furnace. There was a pipe coming out of the top of the furnace and there was water running out of that. LeeAnn then showed up and I told her to call Bubba and let him know what was going on. He called Matt Faust and Matt said he would stop down later on tonight. Well needless to say he never stopped in. Bingo went good and actually a few of us were actually starting to get hot. I called the second half of bingo and ended up setting up the small fan we keep in the bingo room as I was that hot. We ended up shutting the water off before we left so it would not keep running out of the furnace. I left there at 21:50 hours and headed on home. Helping on a call

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and woke up this morning at I blieve it was around 09:45 hours when my father called and told me the situation with the cell phones. They are sending us new SIM cards and everything should be sorted out hopefully by Friday. I had just hung up with my father when the pager went off for an unconscious person in Jackson Township. I got up and went to the bathroom and then got dressed and headed to the scene to help Kim and Alf who were on call today. I got there and Jamie Stoneroad was already there and then Bill and Scott showed up. Meanwhile, I went inside and Jamie gave me the Reeves liter and then went out and got the stretcher and took it around to the front of the house. Me, Alf and Kim got the lady on the Reeves and then Alf and me carried her out to the stretcher. Once they were ready to leave, I helped Alf back out of the driveway and then they went on their way. I headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then I ate lunch while I got on the computer and watched All My Children on TV. I then did some stuff on the computer and then made dinner at 16:20 hours. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then headed up to the fire house at 17:30 hours to pick up my gear for the Essentials class tonight. I loaded my gear in my trunk and then started towards town. I passed Warren on the main road and had just passed the garage at the end of town, when I heard 29 get a call. I pulled my pager off my belt to listen and it was for a structure fire on Armstrong Street. I turned around at Snyder Road and headed back to the fire house. I passed Warren as he was heading back into Halifax. I pulled in and parked and grabbed my gear out of my trunk and went in the station. I sat my gear by the front of the Tanker and then opened both doors up. I took my shoes off and got my bunker pants on. I then went over and unplugged the Engine and started it up. I then stood there for it felt like 3 minutes until Jason Faust pulled in. My father pulled in right behind him and then the new Jason pulled in. I got in the officers seat and Jason threw his gear in the Engine and then got in the driver's seat. My father and Jason then got in and we pulled out of the station. I tapped the siren button to make sure it was on and we were cancelled. We backed the Engine back in the station and then I got my gear off and put it back in the trunk and headed into Station 29 for Essentials class tonight. Class went good. After class was over I headed on home. I stopped at Giant and picked up some chips and two gallons of Diet Iced Tea. I then continued on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped off my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Went to bed last night at 01:30 hours as I was really tired and was rocked out of bed this morning at 08:04 hours when the pager went off for an accident witn injuries in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Carol had just pulled in herself. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and Scott, Kim, and Tom were all on scene. We got the guy loaded up and then I drove down to Hershey Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. Once back at the shed, I logged my time in and then left. I ran up to Sheetz and got gas and then headed on home. Once at home I read the paper. While I was reading the paper, FedEx stopped and dropped off our cell phones. I brought them in and then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do some things until my father got home. Once he got home we opened the phones up and then we set about finishing the set up process. Well we had to dick around with Tracfone for 1-1/2 hours and then by the time we call Cingular back, they had to call Tracfone and Tracfone was closed for the day, so our phones could not be activted. I then went up to the fire house around 18:00 hours. The Tanker was pulled out and I decided to sweep part of the bay out until meeting time. Meeting went great and then a bunch of us went down to the fire house to bull shit. I left there around 23:10 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to hit the sack as I am tired.

CPR Class

Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 03:00 hours when the pager went off for a fall victim in Millersburg Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked my car and went inside. I pulled 13-2 out and then waited for Dohn to show up. Dohn finally showed up and I put us responding. Dohn got in and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on home. Once at the shed, I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home it was time for me to get up anyways, so I just stayed up. I ate breakfast and read the comics while I was on the computer to do a few things. I then left at 07:30 hours and headed up to the fire hall. I got up there and unlocked the hall and took the CPR stuff that I brought up, into the hall. I then helped my dad get things set up and then went down to the fire house and made copies for my father. Class went very good. We had 7 from our company and 5 from Eville come. We broke for lunch and then went back to the class. We got done with class around 14:00 hours. We cleaned everything up and then I took some stuff home. I dropped the stuff off at home and then headed back up to the fire house. I got there and went into the station and talked with Bubba, Andy, Ray and Lyle. Ray left and then Andy left. Lonny then showed up and came in and the 4 of us talked until 17:48 hours. We then all headed up to the hall for the festival meeting at 18:00 hours. We brought the left over cold cuts out from the class for us to eat while we had the meeting. The meeting was over by 19:30 hours and then most of us went down to the fire house and we all shot the shit. I left there around 20:45 hours and headed on home.
