Air, Wonderful, Cool, Air

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 09:10 hours when the pager went off for an accident with entrapment in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. Carol went in and got 13-2 and went responding. We got behind her at Deppen Park. We both got there at the same time. There was a Ford F-150 parked on the hood of a Ford Station Wagon. The driver of the station wagon was confined in the vehicle and 29 was working on extricating him. I went and checked on the lady in the van, which was the third vehicle. Me and Dohn took 2 down to Harrisburg Hospital. Medic 6 took the driver of the station wagon by ground to Hershey Medical Center and Kim drove 13-2 with Carol in the back and they took 2 people to Hershey Medical Center also. After we got what we needed down at the hospital, we headed on back. We stopped at the "Barn" to restock and then ran out to pick up my car. Once I got my car I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch, read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. Bubba then called me and asked me if I wanted to pick up the 3 pictures he wanted me to scan and email him. So I ran up to his house and picked up the picutres and then headed on home. Mom had just gotten home from getting her new driver's license and picked Toby's ashes up at the vets. Her and me talked and then I got on the computer to do a few things. When my dad got home, we put the 3 air conditioners in the windows in the house, which are the living room, my bedroom, and their bedroom. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Structure Fire in Halifax Township.

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of sleep at I believe it was 07:00 hours when the pager went off for a EMS call. I forgot now what it was. I reset the pager and went back to sleep. I got up again at 09:30 hours and got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. My mother and me then got in her car and went down to the East Harrisburg Cemetary to plant flowers on her grandmothers grave. When we got down there, my cell phone rang and it was Jason asking me where the fire was. I told him I did not know as I was in Penbrook at the time and I asked him if we had a call and he said there was a structure fire somewhere in Halifax Township. I went back to helping my mother plant the flowers. After we finished we stopped at my grandparents house so my mother could wash her hands. We then ran over to Sam's Club and Wal-Mart to pick up a few things and then we headed on home. We stopped at the Giant on the way home and picked up a few more thigns and then continued on home. Once at home I got on the computer and did a few things. I then left the house at 16:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bubba was down at his house working on Robin's van and I went down and talked to him and then we went back up to the fire station. We talked some more and then I headed up to the hall to set up for bingo. I won $25.00 off the rip-off tickets tonight. Bingo went good and it was a potluck night so there was a lot of good food. After bingo was over, we went down to the station and I had 2 Coors Lights while I helped Bubba upgraded the Firehouse software on the computer. It was myself, Bubba, Jason and Leeann. Then Dave showed up and we went through the medical bag on the Tanker now. I then left and headed on home. I just finished taking a shower and am soon going to go to bed as I am tired.

Twice in One Day

Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 07:55 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then took my medications. I got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and we took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped the medic of at his squad and then ran to Shell and got fuel. I then ran out and got my car and started into the "Barn". I had just passed Kiner's when my pager went off for a sick person in Millersburg Borough at Polk Assisted Living. I turned around and headed back to Dohn's house and once there I parked and got back in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and got the guy loaded up and we headed on down to Hershey Hospital. Steve Boyer was the medic on the call and boy did we have a good time. After we got what we needed, we headed on home. We dropped Steve off at Sheetz and then went back out to Dohn's house. Once I got my car, I headed to Sheetz and got gas and something to finally eat. I then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and did the paperwork from the 2 calls. I then headed on home once I was done. Mom had just got home when I got home. I talked to her and then read the paper. I just finished eating dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on laote tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Happy Memorial Day

Last night around 23:00 hours I ran into Giant and picked up 3 gallons of Iced Tea. I then stopped at the fire house to put the rags that me and Jason hung on the post outside of the fire station, back inside the station. Sue called me after I left Giant and we talked the whole way out to the fire house and then I sat there and we talked some more. I then headed on home. I then went to bed at 02:00 hours and got up at 07:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and read the paper. I then got all my pins and badage on my uniform shirt and then got dressed and headed up to the fire house. Jason and Bill were already there when I got there. I went inside and sat down and the 3 of us talked until Lonny showed up. Lonny and Jason decided to go in the Engine and I took the Utility in. So we all got our gear and put it in our respective trucks and then we left and headed into the Halifax Borough Park. We got there and parked and then waited for the parade to start. Sue and Amanda had gone on a call around 07:30 hours and they just made it for the parade. As we were getting ready to pull out, I saw them come into the park with their lights on. The parade was good, small and not a large crowd, but that is normal for the Memorial Day Parade. After the parade was over, we headed on back to the station and put the apparatus away. I then headed on home. Once at home I got on the computer and played "The Sims". Around 12:45 hours the pager went off for a laceration in Jackson Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and the guy did a good job to his hand. He was using the wire brush on his grinder when his hand slipped and the wire brush went over the top of his left hand. It ripped the skin off and cut all the way down to the bone. We could see the tendon's sitting there in his hand. We got the guy in the back of the ambulance and put a trauma dressing on it. While we were doing that, we got hit for a fall victim in Halifax Borough. Kim and Alf took that call and it was one of our frequent fliers. They ended up calling for a medic while I was headed on down to Osteopathic Hospital. They passed us at the interesection of Fourth and Market and we passed them as they turned into the high school parking l0t to wait for Medic 6. After we got what we needed down at the hospital, we headed on back to Dohn's house. Once I got my car I headed on home. I am now soon going to eat dinner and am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then read the paper. I then helped my mother sort laundry and take it downstairs and put it in the washing machine. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I was on the computer. I then left the house at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house to wash the Utility and the Engine for the Memorial Day Parade tomorrow. I got there and Bill was already there and he gave me my birthday gift. He got me Season Three of Emergency. Jason then showed up and we talked for a little bit. I then called Bubba and asked him if I could pull the Engine out so me and Jason could wash the Utility and the Engine. We then washed both and I put both away. I then had two Coors Lights to celebrate my birthday. I then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and just finished eating a light snack. One More Day

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 09:40 hours. I got out of bed and took my medication and then got changed into street clothes. The three of us then got in my mother's car to head down to Hoss's for lunch with my brother and grandparents. We stopped at the automatic car wash at Shell and my mother got her van washed. We then continued on down to Hoss's. We got down there and they were already there. My brother got me a balloon and had it on the table we were sitting at. We ate lunch there and the waitress brought out a small cake for me and I blew the candle out. I thanked them and my grandparents for buying me lunch. We then headed back to their house to visit for a little bit. I read the paper when I got to their house. I opened up my birthday cards and then me, my mother, brother and grandmother played Yatzee. We left there around 16:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I got on the computer to do a few things. I ate a late and small dinner and then had the rest of the cake I got from Hoss's. An Afternoon at Sue's

Went to bed last night at 03:10 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours when Sue called my cell phone. We talked to about 20 minutes and then she hung up with me. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got my shoes on to head into Sue's house to visit her for the afternoon. I stopped at the recycling bins and dropped off a bag of bottles. I then stopped at Giant to grab Sue a gallon of Turkey Hill Diet Iced Tea. As I went in the store, Kim called my cell phone and asked me if I could cover for her from 3 to 6 this afternoon. I told her that was not a problem. I then called Sue and told her I would be over after I ran home to change into my uniform. I got home and changed into my uniform and then headed back in to town. I stopped at Giant again and picked up Sue's diet iced tea and headed to her house. When I got there I went in and put the tea in her fridge as she was talking on the phone. I then played with Eros for a little bit and then sat down to wait until she was done on the phone. While she was talking on the phone, the pager went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. She left and said that I could stay at the house and watch TV or get on the computer if I wanted to. So I stayed there and let Eros out twice and got on the computer to check a few things real quick. I then fell asleep on the recliner on her sectional sofa until she came home. Once she got home we talked while she did some things around the house. Amanda then came home and she chaned clothes quickly and Ahsley showed up and then they left for the races. Bob then came home and I then left there around 18:50 hours. I stopped at Sheetz and grabbed something to eat for dinner and then headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner and then took a shower. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Haircut

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 09:59 hours when the fire pager went off for us to stand-by in quaters. Since I was on duty, I could not go with the fire company. I did however decided to get dressed and headed up to the fire house to see what was going on. I got dressed and then got in my car and headed up to the fire house. As I pulled in Bubba and Eric took off in the Tanker to go fill pools. I started back home and he turned around in Wil's driveway and he stopped along side of me and we talked for a few minutes and then I continued on home. Once at home I ate breakfast and read the paper. I then ate lunch while I was on the computer to do a few things and I watched All My Children on TV. I then made dinner and ate it while I watched MASH on TV. My new uniform shirt came today and once my father got home, he pinned my patches to my shirt so he could sew them on later. I then left the house at 19:25 hours and headed into town to get my hair cut. I got it highlighted and cut and then headed on my way. I stopped at the fire house as Helen, LeeAnn, Bill and Eric were there working on the Engine. I had two beers and Helen and LeeAnn both had one. Bubba and Jason were out filling pool's and they got back around 23:30 hours. I then called off for the rest of the night and left the fire house around 01:00 hours and headed on home. I then took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Case of Beer For Me!

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:30 hours when the pager went off for a life alert in Halifax Borough at the Boyer Apartments. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Dohn was already there and had 13-1 pulled out. I parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. It ended up being a false trip and we were back within 5 minutes. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate breakfast and was starting to read the paper when at 11:00 hours the EMS pager went off, followed shortly by the fire pager for an accident with injuries in Jackson Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and the Engine pulled in behind us. A 20 year old girl had rolled her truck into the field. She crawled out but we ended up taking her down to Hershey. Boy was she nice looking. After we got what we needed down at Hershey, we headed on back. We dropped the medic's off at thier squad at Sheetz and then headed on out to Dohn's house. Once I got my car I headed back into the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then ate lunch and finished reading the paper. I then got on the computer and did a few things. I then headed up to the fire house at 17:00 hours. I got there and Jason and Eric were already there. I talked to Jason and then Bill showed up. He gave me card and I put it in my car. While I was at my car, Jess drove by. I went in the station and Eric was walking back with a case of Coors Light. He said that Jess told him it was for me. I was truly surprised. I then went up to the hall. When Jess came in she asked me if I had gotten my case of beer and I told her yes and thanked her. Bingo was ok, it was a little lighter then normal for us. After bingo was over, Bubba, Jason, LeeAnn, myself, Bill and Eric headed on down to the fire house. I cracked open the case and had two beers, Bubba had two and Jason had 1. I left there around 23:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Oh Yeah, That Feels Great

Went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:30 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Upper Paxton Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got up there and Flipper was the medic and he was already there. We got the guy loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. Flipper caught a ride home with one of his units that also came down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on home. We ran up to Engle's and picked up 13-2 and then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. After I was done I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper while I watched All My Chilldren on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I had just finished making dinner when the pager went off for an accident with injuries in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Carol's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. It ended up begin a 4 wheeler accident. We ended up flying the girl out by Life Lion. After we got cleaned up and I got my car I headed on home. Once at home I sat down to eat and got as few bites in when the pager went off again for a nose bleed in Halifax Borough at the T-Ball field. I got back in my car and headed on into the shed. Carol had pulled 13-2 out for me and Sue. I pulled in and Sue pulled in right behind me and we got in 13-2 and off we went. By the time we got there, they had it under control and the mother said she would take the kid down and we were placed in service. Sue then ran up to Subway to grab something to eat for dinner. Jess was there and I talked to her while Sue ordered her sub. We then went back to the shed and then we both headed on home. Once at home I finally finished eating dinner and then I headed up to the fire house. Bill, Bubba, Jason, Helen and LeeAnn were already there when I got there. I helped them repack two crosslays and the 2-1/2" hose and then the pager went off for a traumatic injury at Camp Hebron. I got in my car and headed back into the shed. I got there and pulled 13-1 out and then Sue got there and she got in and off we went. Scott was on the scene when we got there and we got the kid loaded up and took him down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, Sue ran over to PSECU and dropped off a deposit and then we stopped at the Uni-Mart on Front Street and got something to drink and we split a pack of twlizzers. We then continued on home. We stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then Sue asked me to give her a back/neck massage which I did for at least 30 minutes. She then left and headed on home and I did the paperwork from the call. I then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house when I saw the station lights on. LeeAnn and Robby were there and we bull shited for a half an hour and then I headed on home. I am soon going to go to bed as I have had a long day and am tired.

Accident with Injuries

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:10 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I ate dinner while I was on the computer and watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. I got up there and LeeAnn was sitting on Helen's porch talking so I went over and sat down and talked with them until Jason showed up. The three of us then went into the hall and Helen then came over. Robin came in next and then Martha came in after we were halfway through the meeting and Lonny came in towards the end of the meeting. The meeting was over before 19:25 hours, I believe a new record for us. The fire police had a meeting after the regular meeting, so me, Jason, LeeAnn and Lonny went down to the fire house. LeeAnn put the playpipe back together and put it back on the Engine and I put the water curtin back on the Engine up in the hosebed. We where then sitting around bullshiting, when Helen came running in the station and said that there was an accident in front of Gonder's Grub House. We all looked at her like what the hell? LeeAnn helped her load the signs in to her Jeep, while Lonny went out and got his gear. I got my bunker pants on and then went over and opened the bay door for the Engine and I started it up. We all got in the Engine to wait for county to dispatch it. Lonny was just starting to get his bunker pants on when county finally dispatched us and 29 for it. I went responding shortly after they hit for us. Hell the house siren had just started it's second revolution when I went responding. It turned out to be minor injuries and the one girl was a refusal and no one was transported. We had a total of 16 people on the scene. We were the for about one hour and then the box was placed in service. We then went into Shell and got fuel in the Engine and then headed back to the fire house. I finished filling out the report back at the station. I then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to hit the sack as I am tired.

Still Mooping Around

Last night was touch and go for me, as certain things would set me off, such as the box and bed Toby used to sleep in. I went downstairs to get a popsicle and his box and bed were sitting down there. I had to sit down on the steps because I had started to cry. I finally went to bed at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper and then ate lunch while I watched a little TV. I then got on the PS2 to play NCAA Football. I played two games and won both of them. I ate dinner while I played on the PS2. I got off at 20:10 hours and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

RIP Toby

Before I start today's post I want to say a little bit about Toby. Many of my regular readers will know that Toby was one of the two cats that my family has. They also will know that back in January, he went partially blind. Over the following few months he did ok, but within the past week, he started to decline. Between Friday night and Saturday morning, he got worse, to the point that he could barley walk anymore. My mother made the decision that he had to be put to sleep Saturday. Toby was put to sleep Saturday morning. After 15 years of love, friendship, making us laugh, and all the highs and lows, I say RIP Toby until we meet again in Heaven.

I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:45 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then ate breakfast while I read the front section of the paper. I then got my money together and my father got things together for our trip to the fire expo today. We left the house at 08:28 hours and headed on down. We stopped at Sheetz and got something to drink and then continued on the way. We got down there a little after 09:00 hours, got a parking spot and then got in line to wait until it opened at 10:00 hours. While we were in line was when I found out that my mother was having Toby put to sleep. I talked to her and to Toby over the phone and then I felt a little better. Once we got inside we went to the Main Hall and started there before it got crowded. We then went to the Northeast Hall, the North Hall and the new Expo Hall. We ran into a few people that we know and talked to them. I spent $108.00. I got a license plate for the front of my car for $28.00. Two books for $55.30. A set of Choice cards for $5.00. A Fire & Rescue Pocket Book for $18.95. And a bumper sticker for $1.25. I got what all I was looking for and we left there around 14:20 hours and headed on home. We stopped at the deli in Dauphin to grab something to drink on the way home. Once at home we showed my mother what all we got. I put my new bumper sticker in my back window and put my new license plate on the front of my car. I then headed up to the fire house to help Helen and LeeAnn work on the Engine. Jason and Lonny came back with the Tanker after having filled a pool in my devlopment. We then ordered a pizza and we were there until almost 21:30 hours. I left there and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then talked to Sue and then finished reading the paper. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Wow, Look at that Cut

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 10:50 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Jackson Township. This was the lady on Detrich Road. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed to the church in Fisherville. We ended up getting cancelled as Medic 6 handeled it. I then ran home and filled out my June schedule and grabbed the junk mail to drop off at the recycling bins and then headed into town. I stopped at the "Barn" and dropped off my schedule. Bill was there working on signs for Community Day tomorrow. I then dropped off the 3 bags of junk mail at the recycling bins. I then ran up to Giant and got 4 bags of chips and 3 gallons of Giant Diet Iced Tea. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. Around 15:30 hours the pager went off for a laceration at Polk Assisted Living in Millersburg Borough. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Dohn's hosue. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and the lady did a good job on her left arm. It was more of an avulsion then a laceration. It went down through her epidermis and the dermis and I could even see one of her veins sitting there. We bandaged it up and got her loaded and I drove down to Osteo. After we got what we needed we headed on home. Once I got my car I headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Still Cleaning the Apparatus

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I ate dinner while I was on the computer. I then left the house at 17:00 hours and headed up to the fire house. When I got there, Bubba, Lonny and Bill were already at the fire house. Jason then came in next, followed by LeeAnn and then finally Helen. Me and Jason got Bubba's shop vac and we pulled the forest fire hand tools out and Jason swept up in there and also on the other side. We also pulled out the portable generator, portable pump. I then got in the back and pulled out the Indian tanks, cribbing, extension cords, adaptors, spill kit, negative pressure fan, hose clamp, float dock, floor dry, buckets and cord reel. I then swept out the bed of the Utility. I then redid some tape on the cord reel and then we put the cribbing and floor dry, buckets, extension cords, adaptors, negative pressure fan, spill kit, indian tanks and the containment pond back in. We then pained the float dock and the hose clamp and let them sit out to dry. After they dried we put them back in the Utility. Bubba mounted the sledge hammer and the small pry bar in the Engine, while Helen sanded the Hooligan Bar and LeeAnn sanded the play pipe. After Bubba was done with the Engine, he went to work polish the diamond plate on the rear of the Tanker. We then backed everything back and in then Jason left. Me, LeeAnn and Bubba left the fire house at 22:50 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took the trash out and then took a shower. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Bingo

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do some things and watch All My Children on TV. I left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good tonight. Jess won the $100.00 on the punch board. We decided to have bingo next Wednesday. After bingo was over, myself, Lonny, LeeAnn and Jason stood around and talked for a little bit. We then went down to the fire house and talked a little bit more. I left the fire house at 22:50 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. County Fire is Really Hoping

Went to bed last night at 03:30 hours and got up this morning at 11:36 hours when Bill sent me a text message. I got out of bed and weighed myself. I lost a pound. I then got dressed and grabbed a pack of crackers to munch on. I then headed up to the Township building to vote. I got up there and voted and then headed into town. I ran up to Sheetz and grabbed something to eat for lunch. I then headed to the "Barn" to help Bill put together the packets for the Community Day this Saturday. I then finished eating and was looking at a few things, when the pager went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township. I finished eating my chicken strips and then pulled 13-1 out and waited for Dohn to get there. Once Dohn got there and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got the lady loaded up and us and Tommy and Tony from Medic 6 headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. When we pulled in CBS 21 was there and they taped out unit backing in at the ER. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped Tommy and Tony off at Sheetz and then headed back to the shed. Once back at the shed I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and picked up my flashlight and brought it home to put back in the charger. Once at home I read the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched MASH on TV. I am now geting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

My Second Home

Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 10:43 hours when the fire pager went off for the fire police to assist Company 29's fire police with traffic control in town due to a disabeled tractor trailer. I reset the pager and went back to sleep. I was then rocked back out of bed again around 11:20 hours when the EMS pager went off for an unknown problem in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and then got in 13-1 and off me and Carol went. We got there and found out that it was a medical alert alarm, and no one was at home, so we were available and headed back to the shed. Scott was there when we got back. He was doing his second tripsheet of the year. I logged my time in and then ran up to Sheetz and got gas and decided to try their chicken strips. I ran into Aunkst there and talked with her for a little bit and then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and then read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the festival meeting. The meeting was only to go over the prizes and to see what we needed to order. Bubba was down in the station working on the Engine, so me and LeeAnn decided to head on down to help him. He made some changes to the compartments on the Engine. First he added a strap on the back of the hose bed to hold the two nozzles of the cisco load in place. He then made a holder for the gas can and the Sawz-All in the back compartment. He then mounted the Equipment Cleaner Toweletts, folding shovel, small bolt cutters, medium size bolt cutters, broom handle, and the mirror. He then moved to the front top side compartment and he mounted the pry-axe and pike pole on the inside of the door. We then layed out the small pry bar and sledge hammer to be mounted later. Me, LeeAnn and Bubba then sat around and talked. I left the fire house at 12:10 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Very Long Day

Went to bed last night at 02:10 hours and got up this morning at 06:15 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate breakfast and read the comics. I then gave mom her mother's day card and gift. I then headed up to the fire house to start on the pit. I tried starting the Utility with no luck. I then went abd started on the pit. I got 1 done and was almost done with the second one when LeeAnn and Jason pulled in. Jason then helped me finish putting charcoal in the pit. Dave then showed up and we told him about the Utility. He took a look at it and put the battery charger back on the battery. We then moved the pit outside and went to light it. We had two sections that would just not light, even after we tried our tricks. It took us a total of I would say close to 45 minutes to get all ther sections burning right. We then got the chickens on. I then ran into Shell and picked up tea for a few people and a Gatorade for myself and then headed back to the fire house. I got there and shortly after I got back we took the chickens off the racks. We did not exactly sell out of chickens. Me and Jason ended up laoding the blue cooler in the back of the Utility. We started out and I noticed that the church was letting out so I called Bubba and told him and he told me to just come back for now to make sure they had enough. Well we did not get the big rush we thought we would so they sent us back out again. This time we had just finished selling 8 halves when Holly called me and told us to come back since they had sold out already. We got back and ended up unloading about 20 halves and then we went back out to thie the developments. We ended up selling I believe 4 to 6 more before we were called back for the last time. I then ate my half and then went to work on spray painting all the stuff off of the Utility that needed re painted. Meanwhile Bubba and Lonny had gone to fill two pools and when they came back, Bubba started workgin on polishing the diamond plate on the Tanker. LeeAnn helped me and Jason and then we in turn helped them work on the Engine. We ordered pizza and had it delivered to the station. Robin then chooked our and invited us down I once again ate. I left up there around 22:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and just finished eating a light snack. I am soon going to bed as I am really tired.

Working on the Utility

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:20 hours when my parents came home from the store. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I was on the computer. Today was a very quiet day with no calls. I left the house at 18:20 hours and headed up to the fire house to work on the Utility. I got up there and started getting things ready when Jason pulled in. I had him go over the compartments with me and tell me what everything is. He did very well. We then started pulling stuff out of the back to clean. We pulled the spanner wrenchs, generator, cones, air packs and spare cylinders, the tarps and spill pads, the indian rake handles, spades, and pitch forks out and cleaned all of them up and put everything back. I had turned the compartment lights on in the Utility, but left the Utility plugged in to keep it charging. Well either we killed the batteris or drained them, but I noticed that the lights were starting to dim and when I went to start it, it would not start. So we put the battery charger on the Utility and let it charge for 20 minutes. We tried to start it again, with no luck. So we put it back on, and with it on tried to start it again and this time it started. We left it run for about 30 minutes to charge the batteries up. We then shut it off and when I went to start it again, no go. So we plugged it back in and I called Bubba to let him know and he said he would look at it when he gets home. Also during our breaks, I taught Jason the knots he needed to know for his BVR class. Once again, after some pratice he got the knots down. I then had him tie them with extrication gloves on and he did a great job also. I then headed on home and once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Day of Rest

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer at 14:00 hours to type of the May Township meeting minutes on the website. I then got on Cingular and got my mother a ring tone for her cell phone. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 18:45 hours to head on down to Hummelstown for the last County Executive Committee meeting before the convention. I got down there and went inside and talked to a few people before the meeting started. The meeting went ok. Joe Nickle brought up about adding the three Junior Firefighter to the memorial service this year. This was met by a lot of resistance from some of the older members of the committee. There were 6 of us that wanted to see the names added to the memorial. It was myself, my father, Joe, Keith Becker, Brad Delancey and Larry Cook. Joe made a motion to add their names and I seconed it. That motion was voted down. This kind of set a sour tone for the rest of the meeting. Some of us talked after the meeting, I then left there and headed on home. I stopped at the Giant and picked up a gallon of milk and hot dog buns. I then headed on home. Home Again

After I got off the laptop at the hotel last night, I went down to the Legends Pub and got myself a Coors Light. After I had that I headed back up to my hotel room and went to bed at 00:30 hours. I got up at 06:00 hours when Bill called and my alarm went off. My father then called and said we would meet at 06:30 hours. So I reset my alarm to 06:15 hours and went back to bed. I got out of bed at 06:15 hours when the alarm went off again. I got out of bed and got dressed and then finished packing and then met my father at the elevators. We went downstairs and checked out and then took our bags out to his truck. We then went down to the resturant and waited for it to open up so we could eat breakfast. It opened up at 06:45 hours and we went in to have breakfast. I had 4 slices of toast, sausage, bacon and orange juice. After breakfast, we went up to the confrecne room and signed in for the day. We had three presentations in the morning. We ended up eating lunch 20 minutes later then when we were supposed to. Lunch was good, I had pork and a ham and chesse sandwhich. After lunch, we then went back up to the confrence room. We had one final presentation for the afternoon, and this guy ended up going 30 minutes over. We ended up finishing up at 14:20 hours and we were free to go. We then stopped in the gift shop and I got a key chain for Bill and two books for myself. We then left to head on home. It took us about 2 hours to get home. We got in the middle of a huge thunderstorm on the way home on the Interstate and boy did it ever pour. We stopped at Sheetz and my father got gas in his truck and then headed on home. Once at home we brought everything inside and then I got undressed and showed my mother what I got and told her how things went. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then called and talked to Sue for probally close to an hour. I then took a shower and had a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Greetings From State College

Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 06:00 hours when my father woke me up. I got out of bed and ate breakfast. I then changed into my busiess casual and then me and my father loaded up his truck with our bags. We then said goodbye to my mother and then got in his truck and headed on our way to State College. We passed Alf and Kim as they were waiting to turn onto Armstrong Valley Road. We got behind them in town as they went down to Third Street and turned on to Market Street from there. We followed them all the way to the Clarks Ferry Bridge and then Alf took off and we lost them. It took us about close to 2 hours to get up to the hotel/confrence center. We got here and signed in. Alf and Kim were already here when we got here. Once everyone showed up we started the confrence. It was kind of boring today, and at times I wanted to fall asleep during the second presentation of the morning. We then broke for lunch and ate lunch at the resturant want in the hotel. We then went back up to the meeting room and contiuned with the afternoon session. We were the second presentation of the afternoon. We had a 15 minute breake before our presentation, so I gave the guy that was working the computer the CD of the pictures to run during the break before our presentation. Steve introduced Alf, who then in turn intorduced Mike, myself and my father. The presentastion lasted 30 minutes and I talked twice during the presentation. I think we all did very good with the presentation. We then had 3 more speakers and then we were done for today. My father and me then checked into the hotel and got our rooms. I got a room to myself and am happy about that. After I changed, me and my father when dow to the Legends Pub in, also in the hotel an had dinner. We then went back to our rooms and I watched a little TV and talked to Bill. I am now going to quickly check my email and then am heading back down to the Pub to have a beer or two and then am going to bed.

Don't Fall Dohn

Went to bed last night at 02:20 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:00 hours when the pager went off for a sick person in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there at the same time as Dohn and we both went inside and got in 13-2 and I drove to the scene. Once at the scene, Dohn tripped and fell in the lady's bedroom and fell to the floor. He then asked me to call for the fire department for lifting assistance. After we got the lady out and loaded into the unit, I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once at the shed, I logged my time in and then I left and went up to Rite Aid. Once there I dropped of a perscription to be filled. I then ran up to Community Banks and cashed my check and then ran back down to Giant. Once there I grabbed two gallons of Diet Iced Tea and then ran over to Rite Aid and picked up my medication and then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then watched All My Children while I got on the computer to do a few things. My mother then came home and I helped her bring some stuff in. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. LeeAnn then called and asked me if I could come up and help her and Helen clean the Engine some. I said I would be up at 18:00 hours. I left the house and headed up to the fire station. Once up there I helped them. Me and LeeAnn then ordered a pizza and had it delivered to the fire house. LeeAnn then backed the Engine in and then her, me and Helen sat around and talked. I left the fire house at 21:45 hours and headed on home. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. House off in Perdix

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 09:45 hours when my mother called me to come pick her up at Heim's after she dropped off her car. I got out of bed and threw on a t-shirt and my pj pants and then got in my car and picked her up and brought her back home. Once back at home I went back to bed to try and go back to sleep, but I couldn't. So I got up and changed into street clothes and then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do a few things. I then watched All My Children on TV. At 14:00 hours I ran my mother out to Heim's to pick up her car and then went to the fire house to work on the Utility. I called Jason and asked him if he wanted to come down and help clean the Utility and he said he would be down shortly. I got there and Bubba was there and we talked for a little bit and then he left for work and Jason showed up. We started working on the Utility and I was going over the equipment on the truck with him. We were just getting ready to start cleanning the adaptors when the pager went off for the Tanker to transfer to Duncannon's station. I told Jason to finish cleaning th adaptors and put them away. I then put my gear on the Tanker and waited to see who was coming to drive. Bruce showed up and he put his gear on the Tanker and off we went. We got down there and Engine 29 also transferred to Duncannon's station. We got down there and bascially stood by for 2-1/2 hours. Engine 29 was sent back after one hour. After we left there we headed back to the fire house. Once there I filled out a report and then went up to the hall for the meeting. When I got there, they were starting the Firemen's Relief meeting. After the meeting was over, myself, LeeAnn, Lonny, Dave and Holly went down to the fire house and we shot the shit. I left there at 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then finally grabbed something to eat. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Another Win for Hendrick Motorsports

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper while I ate breakfast. I then sat down and watched the race form Richmond. It was a very good race, a lot of cautions with a nice long green flag run in the middle. Jimme Johnson won the race. I then ate dinner while I got on the computer to do a few things. I then left the house at 17:10 hours and headed up to the fire house for Con-Ed training. I got there and unlocked the hall and then took the chairs off of the tables. My father then got there and set things up. Helen then came over and then Bill showed up, followed by Nancy. After class was over I ran down to the fire house to look at what all needed to be painted on the Utility. I then talked to Bill for a little bit more and then headed on home. Once at home Sue called me and I talked to her for one hour and 25 minutes. I then took a shower and just finished eating a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. A Sad Day for Dauphin County

Around I believe it was 20:00 hours last night there was an accident in Middle Paxton Township. Alf and Sue went down on it to help. There ended up being 3 signal 12's from the accident. I later found out that the 4 teenagers in the vehicle were all junior firefighters. The one that they flew was from 32. The other 3, one was from 37 and 2 were from 34. It is a sad, sad day in Dauphin County. I then went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 08:20 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and went to the parking lot of the church in Fisherville. Dohn picked me up and we headed to the scene. It was Jamie Stoneroad's grandfather. After we got him loaded up, we headed for 3 B's to meet up with Perry Medic 81. Once we got Perry Medic 81 on board, we headed to Hershey Medical Center. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at his truck and then continued on back. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed on out to the church to pick up my car. Once I got my car I headed back into the "Barn". Bill was there and he had my times for me. I then logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. After I was done I headed on home. Once at home I started to eat lunch and read the paper. Then at 12:21 hours the pager went off for a motorcycle accident with injuries in Reed Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. The fire department ended up decided to fly him out which I was going to suggest also. We got there and Life Lion was already on the ground. So we quickly got to the scene, got the guy loaded up and then took him up to the LZ. After they flew him we headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my times in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then had Bill run me out to my car and once I got it I headed on home. Once at home I finished eating lunch and reading the paper. I then got on the computer to do some things. I ate dinner while I was on the computer. Another Ho Hum Day

A Possible Trip to Penn State

Went to bed last night at 04:00 hours and got up this morning at 12:00 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then read the paper. Since it was on the street above me I decided to go to the scene and get vitals until the unit got there. I then helped them load the lady up and then I headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then got back on the computer to do some more things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and worked on the computer. I then ran into Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription. I then ran up to Sheetz and got gas and then went back to Rite Aid and picked up my medication and a mother's day card for my mother. I then headed on home. Once at home I took some trash out and then took a shower. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. Once Again, Another Boring Day

Went to bed last night at 02:15 hours and got up this morning at 11:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then went outside and helped my mother dig up some flowers out of the flower bed. I then went inside and ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. Then me and my mother ran up to Hoffmans Outdoor Power and Repair and picked up filters and a spark plug for the lawn mower. After we got all the filters we headed on home. Not Much Happening Again Today

Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning at 04:29 hours when the fire pager went off for forceable entry in Jackson Township. Since I was on call, I could not go. My father got out of bed and got dressed and then we got cancelled. The 10 minutes later we were dispatched again for medical assist for lifting. The Engine got out right away. While they were on there way to the scene, County told the Engine that Medic 6 was going to fly the Pt. and that a LZ needed to be set up. I then went back to sleep and was rocked out of bed again at 08:30 hours when the pager went off to assist PSP with assessing an accident victim. I got out of bed and got dressed and then headed to Dohn's house. I got there and Alf was walking back down the driveway. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. It ended up being a no Pt. found and we went back to Dohn's house, I got my car and headed on home. Once at home I ate breakfast and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do some things. I had no other calls today so it was kind of a boring day. I ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and then took a shower once I went off duty.
