Busy Past Two Days
Went to bed Thursday night around 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed at 04:40 hours when the pager went off for heart problems in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the shed. I got there and parked and went inside and started 13-1. Carol then pulled in and then off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed we heazded on back. We dropped the medic off at Sheetz and then stopped at Shell and got fuel for in the unit. We then headed back to the shed. Once at the shed I logged my time in and then did the paperwork. Once I was done I headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed and got up at 12:55 hours. I got out of bed and changed and then ate lunch, read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I went off duty at 15:00 hours due to going to Shade Mountain later that night. I then ate dinner while I was on the computer and watched MASH. I changed into street clothes and then headed up to the fire house around 19:00 hours. Once everyone got there we figured out who was going in who's car. In Robby's truck was, Robby, Tandee, Me, Jason and Lonny. In Bubba's car was Bubba, Robin, Helen and her friend. In Jess's car was Jess, Candy, LeeAnn and Troy. It was about a 45 minute to an hour drive to the bar. We got there and went inside and I got a Coors Light and then sat down at the table. Bubba and Jason started putting in songs for the Karoke. Helen then bought my next two Coors Lights since I won the bet that her and me made three weeks ago. The bet was she would buy me two drinks if I went along with them this weekend. Bubba then bought everyone a round. I then bought everyone a round which was not bad. $27.50 for 13 drinks. Lonny then bought the next round of drinks for everyone. I had a total of 6 Coors Lights over the course of the evening. Jess and Troy then bought 41 test tube shots of Bahama Mama and we each got three test tubes. I then sang Good Directions with Bubba and Troy and that was the only song I sang the whole night. We left there around 02:00 hours when the bar was closing and we got back to the fire station a little before 03:00 hours. We waited for Bubba and Robin to get back. Robby drove home, Robin drove Bubba's car home and Lonny drove Jess's car home. We talked to Bubba and Robin for a little bit and then I left the station around 03:15 hours. I ran over to Bill's house and dropped off his camera and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then I went to bed around 04:00 hours I believe it was. I got up this afternoon at 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then got changed into my uniform. I grabbed the cooler from down stairs and put my Gatorade's in it and then headed up to the fire station. Jason was there and Robby and Tandee were finishing up washing the Tanker. Me and Jason put our gear in the back of the Utility. I then put ice in my cooler and then we left the station at 14:00 hours to headed on down to Berks County. We stopped at Shell and Robby picked up two bottles of water and then we contiuned on our way. We got down to Strausstown's station a little after 15:00 hours. We windexed the windshield's and put tire shine on thew tires. We finished doing that and then it started to rain. After it finished raining, we let the trucks dry and then 30 minutes before we left we wiped off any water that was left on the trucks. We then headed over Shartlesville to get judged. Tri-State did nthe judging and they were the ones we had at the Lebanon County Convention Parade. I was not to impressed with how they judged the Utility. We then went through the parade. It was a Lights and Sounds parade which basically means drive as fast as you can with your lights and sounds on. Helen and her family came down and we passed them when we came in for judging, and then twice during the parade, once on our way out and once on our way back to park. We parked and then headed on down to the fire house to get something to eat and drink and then wait for the awards. The Tanker took 2nd place for Best Appearing and Equipped Tanker/Pumper and we also took furthest distance traveled for the second year in a row, having come 70 miles. After we got our trophies, we headed back to the trucks and then we lit up the town with the lights and sirens and then headed on home. We stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed back to the station. We got back to the station around 22:30 hours. We got our gear out and I put the cooler in my car and then we set two rows of tables up in the hall that Bubba had asked us to do. We all then left around 23:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to hit the sack as I am tired.
