Two Medical Assist in 24 hours
Around 21:30 hours last night the fire pager went off for a medical assist on Snyder Road in Jackson Township. I quickly got dressed and then got in my car and headed up to the fire station. I got up there and House was already there. I parked and ran inside and quickly got my bunker pants on and I heard House ask me if I wanted the officer's seat and I said yes. I ran over and jumped in and House got in and then LeeAnn came in and we told her to get in the other side. Ray then came in and we told him we had room in the middle and he jumped in. We then saw Jason S. pull up and when he came in we told him to take the Utility. We were still waiting for a driver. Jason F. then pulled in and we told him to hurry up as we had a full boat and just needed a driver. He got in and we took off. We got to the scene and we did not do much except help then load the lady in the ambulance. We then went available and went back to the fire house and we all sat around and talked. I left the fire house at 00:03 hours and headed on home. Once at home I got back on the computer and finished up things and went to bed around 02:30 hours this morning. I got out of bed this morning at 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I ate breakfast and read the comics. I then grabbed my books and my flashlight and got in my car and headed up to the fire house to pick up my gear. I stopped at the hall as I had to use the bathroom and then went down to the station and got my gear and put it in the trunk and then headed on over to Bill's house to pick up his camera since he was not going to be able to make it to class today since he had to work. I then stopped at Shell and picked up a Gatorade and something to munch on and headed on down to HACC. I got down there and they told me that we did not need our gear for today. We then went up to the classroom. We only did lecture's today and we got out a little before 13:00 hours. I then left and headed on home. I pulled into the station and parked beside the rear door and Helen and LeeAnn pulled in behind me. I got out and opened up my trunk to take my gear out. I head the pre-alert come from the radio in the station and I stopped and opened up my pager. The tones then went off for a medical assist on Grim's Trail in the State Game Lands. I grabbed my gear out of my trunk and then shut it and ran into the station and got my gear on. LeeAnn ran in the front and opened the bay door for the Engine and then got her gear on. I finished getting my gear on and went around the Tanker and Bubba was coming in the station. We all got in the Engine and he pulled it out and we saw that Helen was getting her gear on and then she got in and Lonny pulled up and he got in the back and we went responding with 5. We then heard Dave F. go responding in his POV. We then heard the Utility go responding with 3. Ray drove, and Kenny and Jason were also in there. House and Michelle came in their van, Lyle came in his truck, my father came in his truck, Robby came in his truck, Jess and Robin came in Jess's car and Jean drove to the scene. Jason and Matt also went to the scene as well as Andy. Overall we had a total of 20 members at the scene. We did not do much except stand by as they had enough help back there. The box was placed in service and then we ran up to the Shell in Eville and got fuel for both trucks and then headed back to the station. Once back we sat around and talked and then we all left at 16:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then did a few things on the computer while I ate dinner. I am getting ready to go back up to the fire house for Con-Ed Training tonight and then am coming home and leaving for work tonight at Medic 6. It is a busy, busy week leading up to my vacation.
