Disappointment with HACC

I went to bed Friday night around 12:30 hours and got up Saturday morning at 07:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my stuff together and then grabbed my lunch, suitcase, and bottle of Gatorade and then got in my car and headed up to Eville for my 24 hour shift. As I was going down Creek Road, my fire pager went off for the Tanker to go to Mifflin Township to assist Berrysburg on a barn fire. I called Bill and bitched to him again as I was once again on my way to work when the fire call came in. The Tanker went responding and then county advised that Command 26 now wanted the Tanker to transfer to Station 26. I listened to the pager the whole way up to work and then took it in with me. I got there and 6-3 was gone, which I figured with the barn fire going on. Steppler was already there, as was Jason, the new guy. I clocked in and then got on the computer to see who was all on the barn fire. I then heard Carl go available as QRS 6. I later found out that Tim was on a call with Millersburg. So Carl came back and I talked to him for a little bit and then he left. Meanwhile Bruce had shown up and we all started talking. Tommy then called Bruce and asked for the BLS truck to come relieve the Lykens MICU at the fire scene. Bruce talked to me and said that he thought about only sending two people up, that way one EMT could stay back and make a MICU with Steppler. Steppler and the Paramedic Student had left about 15 minutes earlier to go pick up Tim at Sheetz in Halifax. So Bruce called Steppler and he was ok with that. Bruce asked me if I wanted to go up since I was the fire guru and I said that was not a probolem. He said I would take the new guy up and that he would be ok to do a stand-by. S0 we got in 6-7 and headed up to Miffling Township. I told Jason that I did not know where I was going and I was stopping at 26's Station since I knew that Bubba would have been on the Tanker. I stopped and Bubba, Troy, and Ray were standing on the one hill beside the station looking down at the fire scene. I asked Bubba where it was at and he told me and then we talked for a little bit. Me and Jason then headed down that way. We came to the road Bubba said to take and it was not the name of the road that the fire was on. We got down and I saw that there were Tanker still sitting on the road beside the dump tank. I talked to a fire police and he told me that I had to go around. So I started backing up and then I saw the driver's side front door on 6-5 come open. I told Jason that I give it 2 minutes before Tommy was on the radio yelling for us to switch to our private. About 2 minutes later, Tommy told us to switch to our private number 1. So I did and called for him and got no answer. So I called again, now answer. So I called one more time and no answer. So I turned to our private number 2 and called him. No answer. So I switched back to private number 1 and called him again, no answer. So I went back to Med 9 and called for him. He then came back and told us to switch to our private channel 1 again. I switched again and called him and got no answer. After about another minute of this, I finally heard Tommy on the radio. He relayed the message that we had gone the wrong way, which I told him that we knew and he told me where rehab was set up at. I then got there and parked and went down to where rehab was set up. Naturally, I started looking in the door at the barn. I talked to everyone on the scene that I knew. They then sent Pillow, Grtaz and Millersburg home. I then saw that Engine 26 was sitting in a field and the front end looked higher up then it should. So me and Jason walked down that way and as we got closer, I could see that the rear axle was buried almost up to the tailboard. The farmer then brought his tractor over and pulled the Engine out. We then walked back up and Flap saw me and told me that we could go in service. So we loaded the rehab stuff up and then left and headed on back to the station. While we were at the scene, Steppler went to Millersburg for a call and had gone down with 20 to the hospital. Once we got back we unloaded the rehab stuff and then I parked 6-7 beside the station out front. I then went inside and Bruce was finishing up the station duties. Bruce then said that he was going to run up to some carpet place in Eville and look at carpet. He went up in his car and left me and Jason at the station. I then did the chart on the fire stand-by and then I ate lunch. Bruce then got back and so did Steppler and the paramedic student. Jason was hungry and I asked Steppler and the student if they wanted to go somewhere and eat and they said they were not hungry. Bruce said he was running back up to the carpet place now that his wife had showed up. I told him that I was going to take 6-3 and run Jason up to Subway so he could get something to eat and we would bring it back. So I ran him up there and then we came back. I then got on the computer to look at a few things and then I went out to the day room and sat down on the couch. I then turned the Penn State Game on to watch. Bruce and Jason then left at 16:30 hours to go the the stand-by at the Little Tiger's game. The game was very good. Morelli looked extremly well with his passing and the decision that he made. During halftime, we called in orders to Jo-Jo's and Steppler and the student ran up in th squad and picked the food up and brought it back so we could watch the rest of the game. Penn State slaughtered Wisconson with a final score of 38 to 7. I then left ABC on for the race. Then around 19:20 hours the tones went off for a burn victim in Halifax Township, at the top of Peter's Mountain. We moved the gear over to the MCIU and then went responding. County then said that the people did not know which trail they were on. Scott then said that the best access was off of Swamp Road and Back Road. He then had 12 dispatched incase they were closer to Route 325 which would have been on their side. Steppler had 6-5 respond also and go down 325 and meet up with 12-1. 29 also had 38 dispatched to access off of their side of the mountain. So I now changed my rotue and turned on to Enders Road and took that out to Powell's Valley Road. I accidently turned left, instead of right. I then found a road that met up with Back Road and turned on to that. We then found Swamp Road and we decided to stage down on Back Road until they brought the kid out. They eventually found him on our side and they started walking him out. About 5 minutes after they found him, they put us in service. So we left and I headed back up to Eville. I turned onto Mountain House Road and went back that way. Once back at the station I sat back down on the couch to watch TV. About 30 minutes later, the tones went off for an accident with injuries in Halifax Township in front of Sheetz. We got in 6-3 and went responding. This turned out to be another cluster fuck as PSP did not know where the accident was. They eventually found it at the intersection of South River Road and Mountain Road. We got as far as the Bible Church and fire placed us in service as PSP was taking the patient. So I turned around and went back to the station. Once back at the station I got on the computer to check a few things and the laid down on the couch around 23:00 hours and fell asleep. I woke up around 01:20 hours and turned the TV off and went to the bathroom and then laid back down on the couch. About 2 minutes later the tones went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. I got up and got my boots on and then got my stuff on my belt and then we got in 6-3 and took off. It was at SLV and when we got there we threw the medic's stuff in 20's unit and then went inside. As we walked in, they were brining the guy out and they put him in the unit and Steppler told me to grab his CPAP bag, which I did. They then went down to Harrisburg. I then followed them down to Giant and then turned in. I picked up a gallon of diet iced tea and then ran it home and dropped it off in the fridge upstairs. I then ran back to Sheetz and sat there and waited for 20 to get back. They got back and I helped Steppler move his gear over and then we headed back to Eville. Once back it was round 04:30 hours and I laid back down on the couch and went to sleep. I then got up at around 07:10 hours and went to the bathroom and decided to stay up. I then got my jacket and scope out of the unit and then got my stuff together and took it out to my car. I then emptied the trash cans and Steppler took the trash out. I then got on the computer to check on a few things. Tim them showed up, followed by Carl and then Eric. I then clocked out and headed on home. Once at home my mother told me how the bus trip they went on yesterday went and I told her how my day went. I then took a shower and then went back to bed to try and get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 14:00 hours. I got up and read the paper. While I was reading the paper, Bubba called and told me that he had just talked to Tom Pottiger and the Mod D class is now postponed until the begining of next year, since HACC is screwing around and not confirming dates or if we will have a classroom. Once I finished reading the paper, I got on the computer to do a few things. I then made and ate dinner while I was on the computer. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
