Pottsville Good Sam
Went to bed Monday night at 01:30 hours and got up at 07:00 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my suitcase together and then my lunch and Gatorade. I then left the house around 07:25 hours and headed up to Eville to work a 24 hour shift. I got there and parked and went inside. Bowser was already there and Yeager was getting his things together to leave when 08:00 hours came. John then got there around 08:00 hours. I did a rig check on 6-3 and then we cleaned up the station since they were having a Grant meeting at the station. Bowser then went out on a call in Norrthumberland County. Me and John then decided to sweep out and wipe down the cab of 6-3 as it did not look the greatest. Bowser then got back and then the three of us went up to Wal-Mart to get lunch at Subway. Kathy met us there and then we ate lunch and then headed back to the station. We were not there that long when I heard fire tones on the scanner. I went into the day room to hear who in the upper part of the county was getting a call. It was in Pillow for a fire reported out and with a burn victim. I went into John and Bowser and asked them if we covered Pillow and they said yes and asked why and I told them and Bowser said that he would be going. A few minutes later the tones went off for the burn victim in Pillow Borough. I had also heard Northumberland County dispatching Dalmatia Ambulance on the call. Bowser and Steve got in 6-1 and took off and me and John got in 6-3 and followed them incase 62 did not get out. We then heard them go responding and decided to turn around. We headed back to the station. Once back at the station we both went up front and talked with Wendy. John had gone back to the day room and then came back up front and told me to come on as we were going to be getting a call. The tones then went off for a Psychatric Problem in Mifflin Township. Steve and Bowser decided to head oer that way since they had already cleared the call in Pillow as they flew the guy out. Me and John got in 6-3 and took off. It ended up being a refusal and then we headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I did the chart for the refusal and then did a few things on the computer. John then came on and told me to come on as we had to head up to Wal-Mart to get some stuff for Bowser to make dinner. So we ran up to Wal-Mart and picked up the stuff and then headed back to the station. Bowser made meatballs for meatball subs and I had two of them. John then changed the light bulb on 6-3 and then we kind of sat around and we all took naps. I then got on the computer around 19:45 hours to play some computer games. Ron who was the Lykens medic left to go home sick and Bowser could not find anyone to work up there with Audrey, so he had her come down to Eville and her and me were going to make up a BLS truck and he was going to run out of the squad. I then laid down on the couch around 23:30 hours and slept all through the night as we did not have any calls. I woke up around 07:20 hours and went to the bathroom and then laid down on the couch to rest some more, but not necessarly sleep. At 07:31 hours, I heard the fire tones on the scanner, as we got dispatched for an AFA on Rettinger Road. Naturally I was upset somewhat as I was once again missing another fire call, but it was only for an AFA, so I was not as upset. I was getting ready to take my stuff out to my car when the tones went off for breathing problems in Lykens Township. I told Audrey that I would take the call since I did not have to work at 13 today. I went out to the bay and pulled the ALS gear off fo the squad and threw it on 6-3 and then me and Bowser took off. We got there and got the guy loaded up and then I drove Class 1 to Pottsville Good Sam. We got up there and we got the guy out and took him in. Bowser had put him on CPAP so we had to get the guy out and get him inside, so I did not bother to turn the battery switch off. When we came back out 20 minutes later, the dome lights in the back of the unit were flashing and Bowser told me to go start the truck. Well when I tried to start it, it did not turn over, we had drained the battery. Security ended up jump starting us and then we headed on home. I went home by the way of Williamstown, but I went up to the hospital by the way of Gratz. Once back at the station I picked up my two white shirts, clocked out and headed on home. I got home around 11:30 hours and then took a shower and then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then have bingo tonight and then will be back on after bingo.
