My Daily Thoughts
Friday, November 30, 2007
Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:30 hours when the pager went off for an unconscious person in Millersburg Borough at Polk Assisted Living. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed for the "Barn". I turned into the parking lot county placed us in service as MICU 6-3 said that they could handle it. I then pulled back up and ran up to Giant and picked up a gallon of diet iced tea and then headed on home. Once at home I started to eat breakfast and read the paper and Sue was sending me text messages, when around 10:00 hours the pager went off again for an overdose in Halifax Township. I got my boots back on and got back in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and put us reponding. This call turned into a cluster fuck real fast. We ended up being placed in service and so did 6-5. So I got back in my car and headed on home. Once at home AI finished eating breakfast and reading the paper. Sue then called me and we talked for a little bit and then I got on the PS2 and played Driver 3 for about 1 hour. I then went over to Sue's to help her pack the stuff up in her garage to take up to goodwill. I got there and she had just finished cleaning the house inside. We then talked for a little bit while she cleaned up the kitchen and then we started on the garage. It took us 4 hours, but we got the whole garage cleaned out and the truck packed full of stuff to take up to goodwill. We then took the stuff that needed to go up to the shed, up to the shed and put it away. I then helped her move the stuff that needs to go down to the garage back into the garage and then we talked a little bit more. I left her house around 16:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home my mother put a pizza in the over for me and I went back to the office to get back on the PS2 to play some more of Driver 3. I was home for maybe 20 minutes when the pager went off for a fall victim in Wayne Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and got in and off we went. We got there and Kim, Alf, and Charlie were all there. Kim said we would probally not need the medic, so I placed 6-3 on service. We got the lady loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed we headed on back. While we were going down Second Street in the city, county called us and asked us if we were avilable. We told them no, so they dispatched a call for chest pains in Halifax Township. Sue, Amanda and Beak took that call. I was driving on 322 when Amanda called me for the second time and told me that Nikki had wrecked her car on top of the mountain and told us to respond to it. About a minute later, county dispatched the call for an accident at the top of the mountain. We went responding as I was getting on the ramp for 225. We got there and it ended up being a no patient found as she was ok, and there was hardly any damage done o the car. So then me and Dohn decided to head down to the Community Banks Operatrions Center since that was where 13-2 and 6-5 were meeting up at. Once there I gaze Zack the batteries that were in the back of 13-1 and then we headed back to Dohn's house. Once back there, I got my car and headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner while I played on the PS2. After I was done with dinner I headed up to the fire house to help Bubba with a few things. I left there around 22:20 hours and headed back home again. Once at home I took the trash out and then took a shower. I am going to bed soon as I am tired.

BINGO!
Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then me and my mother got in my car and headed up to Eville. We first stopped at Goodwill to drop a bag of stuff off and then we ran over to the recycling bins to drops some stuff off. We then went to Wal-Mart to do some shopping. Once we were done there, we headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then helped my mother hang up decorations outside on the tress. I then came inside and got on the computer to do a few things. I then left the house around 17:20 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good and afterwards, myself, Bubba and LeeAnn went down to the fire station so I could type a few letter for Bubba. I left there around 00:05 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Dinner Yet Again with Amanda
Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 11:05 hours when the pager went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township in SLV. Dohn and Carol got out for that call. I then called Sue since I told her I would call her when I got up. I then read the paper and then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do a few things. Amanda then sent me a text around 14:20 hours asking me if I wanted to do dinner again at Friday's and I said sure. A half an hour before I left, Amanda sent me another text asking me if I would swing by her house and pick up something from Sue, which again I said was not a problem. So I left the house around 16:15 hours and headed into town. I stopped at the "Barn" and dropped off my schedule to Carol and then ran up to Shell and got an Orange Drink. I then swung by Sue's house and she was outside decorating for Christmas. We both went inside and she went up to Amanda's room and handed me a t-shirt and a hoodie that she said Amanda wanted me to bring down. We then talked for a few minutes and then I got back in my car and headed on down to Friday's. I got there and pulled in and parked the same time as Amanda did. I was barley out of my car when she reached across my roof for her clothes. I handed them to her and she got back in her car and shut her door. I shut my door and went to the back of my car to wait for her. She changed shirts in her car and then we went inside. I had two Coors Light and then had a cheeseburger and fries. I then had desert, a rarity for me. Both me and Amanda got a piece of Peanut Butter Pie. Oh my god, that is so GOOD!!!!! After we were done there, we headed over to HACC. Once in class we did a review and then we took the test. I got a 97% on the test and Amanda got a 92%. After we went over the test, we went over what we needed to bring for next Tuesday night and for Sunday the 9th for our live burn. We then left and I headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Quiet 36 Hour Shift
Around 22:19 hours Saturday night, the tones went off for a diabetic problem in Herndon in Northmuberland County. Me and Flipper got in 6-3 and off we went. We got up there and Flipper put a line in the lady and gave her some Dextrose which brought her sugar back up and her back to normal. We had her eat a sandwich and then he got a refusal on her. We then went available and headed on back to the station. I stopped at Koppy's and grabbed a bottle of chocolate milk and a small bag of chips to munch on. Once back at the station, I got back on the computer to check a few more things. I then laid down on the couch around 00:30 hours and Flipper went back into the men's bunk room to sleep. I was flipping through the channels and came upon the movie "The Replacements" and decided to watch that as it looked very interesting. Shortly after we both had laid down, the tones went off for another Northumberland call. I got up and went over to the scanner and it was for Ambulance 62 as a BLS call only. We have their tones set to go off in the station so that we know we have a call in Northumberland County. After the movie was over around 02:00 hours, I went to sleep. I was woken up around 07:30 hours I believe it was when the tones went off again for yet another call in Northumberland County. Again it was for Ambulance 62 BLS only. I got up and put my pillow away and then took my pills and ate breakfast while I checked a few things on the computer. Dwayne then got there and clocked in. I told him that the truck was good since I only ran Flipper up to Herndon Saturday night. We then called up to the Lykens crew to see if that wanted to eat breakfast out. We decided on the R & K Diner for breakfast. Me and Dwayne got in 6-3 and Flipper for in 6-2 and we headed up to the R & K. Tim and Carl were already there when we got there. We parked and then went inside and ordered. I had two pancakes, a side of bacon and a side of white toast. After breakfast, we headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I started my BLS inventory of the supplies. I started with the extrication cabinet out in the bay. I went though that and reorginzed that and I fisnished by close to 13:30 hours. I then ate lunch and typed up my inventory list. I then did an inventory of the ALS restock cabinets out in the bays and then typed that list up. Finally I tackled the BLS Room. That took me at least 4 to 5 hours to go through and inventory everything. Troy Enders then came in around 19:30 hours to work the nightshift with me and Kuntz. Kuntz then came in and after Troy did his rig check him and me ran up to Jo-Jo's to grab something for dinner. I got a Ham and Cheese sub and a side order of Fries. We then headed back. Once back I got on the computer to check a few more things. Kuntz had turned on the Matrix and I started watching that. He then went to bed around 23:00 hours and me and Troy stayed up to watch the end of the movie since I have never seen it before. It was a very good movie, and I wish I would have watched it from the beginning so that I could understand the whole moive. We both then went to sleep after the moive was over, which was around 01:00 hours. I got up at 07:30 hours when Kuntz clocked out and left. I heard doors slamming in the bay so I figured that Jason was already there and doing his rig check. Jim then came in and then Wendy came in. I gave a quick supervisor's report to Jim since Kuntz had already left and did not leave a supervisor's report. I then filled out a Probation form for Troy and then typed up my time card amendment form and printed it out. I then clocked out and then Kathy got there and we talked for a little bit. Around 08:30 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Millersburg Borough. Jim got in the squad and left. I then left shortly after that and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then crashed in bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 16:40 hours. I got up and read the paper and then ate dinner. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Thanksgiving Dinner Again
I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this afternoon around 12:20 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then I read the comics. I then grabbed my mother's fudge and headed up to the fire house for Thanksgiving Dinner with Bubba and Robin and their realitives. I got there and parked and went inside with the fudge. I was quickly mobbed since I had the fudge with me. I gave it to Katina to put back in the fridge until it was time to eat. Bill was there already and most of the adults were in the kitchen making and cooking the food. The kids and a few of the adults were playing on the X-Box and the PS2. The one kid put in Madden 2007 to play on the PS2. I told him that I bet I could beat him and he said ok. I played as the Bills and he played as the Steelers. I beat him 54-32. He then wanted to play using the team that he created. This time I was the home team as the Bills and it was a hard fought game and it ended up being tied 49-49 when the 4th quarter ended. By this time everyone had already been through the buffet line and were already eating or almost done eating by the time the game was over. We went into over time and I intercepted him and then scored to end the game. I then ate and then me and Adam played a game of football. Troy then set up his stuff to DJ and started playing music. Besides the realatives, Lonny, Lyle, Holly and her daugter and Barb abd Andy stopped by also. I left around 18:12 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then got dressed for work. I left the house around 19:25 hours and headed on up to Eville for work. I got here and noticed that 6-3 was gone, as was Steppler's vehicle. I parked and came inside and clocked in. I saw that 6-3 had arrived at the hospital at 19:19 hours, so I knew they would be back soon. I went out into the bay and walked my 20 laps and then came in to check a few things on the computer. Bruce and Flipper just got back about 30 minutes ago from the call. I then did a quick rig check and I am now back on the computer checking a few things.

Interesting 24 Hour Shift at Medic 6
I left the house last night at 19:15 hours and headed on up to Lykens to work. I stopped at Tower Sales in Lykens and got gas and then headed over to Station 22. I parked and when I did, I noticed that the lights were out in the day room and there was only 1 vehicle in the parking lot. So I parked and grabbed my suit case, my lunch box, and 1 bottle of Gatorade and went inside. Matt was sitting at the computer doing a chart when I walked in. He said that Jim was on a call with Williamstown and that they would be dropping him off at the station on there way back up through. So I clocked in and then went out to do my rig check and that was when I noticed that the unit was dirty as could be. Matt said that the unit was clean when he started his shift, but Jim drove it through all the snow and puddles on the way up to Pottsville that afternoon. I told him that I would hose it down later on. Kuntz then got there and clocked in and shortly after, Matt finished his chart and clocked out and left and walked home. I then got on the computer to print out my rig check sheet and then after I filled that out, I checked a few things online. Jim then got back and I helped him bring his gear in and then he left after restocking the gear. I then pulled 6-8 foward a little bit and then hosed down 6-8 to get most of the dirty off of it to make it cleaner looking then it was when I came in. I then went back inside and got back on the computer to check a few things. Kuntz then laid down on the couch to go to sleep when around 22:30 hours, the tones went off for a fall victim in Williamstown Borough. I went out to the unit to look the street up in the map book while Kuntz got ready. I then put us responding and off we went. We got up there and Kuntz ended up being cancelled, so we turned around and headed back to the station. Once there I laid down on the couch and after Kuntz finished his chart, he laid down and left the TV on until around 24:00 hours and then he turned it off and went to sleep. At 00:59 hours, Bill sent me a text message and I could have killed him as it woke Kuntz up and also me, and I was just starting to fall asleep. I then fell back asleep after telling Bill not to text me. Kuntz left at 07:00 hours an I got up at 07:45 hours when my alarm went off. I got up and got my stuff together and then I ate my breakfast while I waited for Dwayne to come in. He got stuck behind a coal truck and did not get there until 07:59 hours. Around 07:53 hours, the tones went off for a call at the Keepler Home in Eville. Tommy and Jim took that call. Once Dwayne got in, I headed on down to Eville for the day shift. I got there and Steve was already there. I went in and put my lunch in the fridge along with my other bottle of Gatorade. I was talking to Steve about December's schedule when the tones went off for a sick person in Lykens Borough, Steve asked me if I was going to take the squad and meet up with 6-5 to make a BLS truck so that we could keep a medic available. I told him that was not a problem. So I got in 6-2 and took off for Lykens. I got there and we got the lady loaded up and then I drove down to Holy Spirit Hospital and Tim took the squad back to Eville so that he could stay available. I then heard 13 get a call in Jackson Township on Detrich Road. Sue and Amanda were on today and they took the call. After we got what we needed down at the hospital, we headed on back to the station. We got back and I parked out front and we went inside. I then helped Tommy finish the righ check of 6-3 now that it was back to being a BLS truck. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do a few things. Steve then told me that effective of January 1st, 2008, I will be in charge of all the medical supplies for the company. That includes ALS and BLS supplies. Meaning I would order supplies when we need it and would keep an inventor off all the supplies. He then had me do a quick chech on the BLS supplies and then the two of us went through the ALS supplies and then he showed me how to place an order. Tommy then came in and the three of us talked and then Jim came in and the four of us talked about different things. We then all went our seperate ways then. Jim then left to go over to the Gratz Auction to get something to eat. Me and Tommy then left and headed to Gratz. We stopped at his parents house first so he could pick up a few package and take them over to his house, which is what we did next. We then went over to the Gratz Auction to grab something to eat. I got a slice of pizza and a large Sprite. We then headed back to the station. Once back at the station I got back on the computer to check a few things. Then around 17:30 hours the tones went off for an ALS call in Millersburg. Jim went to that one and went down to the hospital with 20. Around 18:45 hours Tommy and me headed up to Wal-Mart so he could buy a frame to frame his Cert. that he got for becoming a Nationally Registered Paramedic. We ran into Kathy up there and the three of us got talking about a few things. We then left and headed on back to the station. Jim was back by the time we got back from Wal-Mart. Steppler then came in as he was starting his 36 hour shift. I clocked out and headed on home after talking to Steppler and Tommy. Once at home I took a shower and had a light snack. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 09:45 hours. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. We then got some things together and then got in my mother's car and headed on down to the Crossroads Cafe in East Hanover Township, to meet my brother, grandparents, and my aunt and uncle for Thanksgiving Dinner. We got down to the restaurant and we went inside and got our table awhile and just had to wait for my aunt and uncle. Shortly after they showed up, the buffet line was opened up. I had turkey, roast beef, and baked ham for dinner. They had such a wide variety to choose from. I then had two small pieces of chocolate cake with peanut butter icing for desert. We then left there and headed back to my grandparents house to visit. Once we got there we all went into the living room and sat around and talked and told stories. My aunt and uncle then left and then the rest of us went out into the dinning room and played Eat It, a board game like Trival Pursuit, but this game ask you questions about food items and stuff related to food. It is a very fun game. We played that for about 2 - 1/2 hours and then we visited a little bit more with the grandparents. We then left their house around 16:45 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to head up to Lykens to start my 24 hour shift. I am working the night shift in Lykens and then the day shift tomorrow in Eville.
Boring Day Again
Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and woek up this afternoon at 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then got in my car and headed into town. I went to the doctor's office and dropped off some paperwork that I needed Dr. Little to fill out for me. I then stopped at Rite Aid and picked up my medications and then ran over to Giant and picked up a few things. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo. Bingo went good tonight and then afterwards, myself, LeeAnn, Troy, Bill and Jason mingled out front of the hall and shot the shit. I then left around 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Busted Up Knees
Went to bed last night at 01:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch box and my Gatorade bottle and loaded then started my car to let it warm up. I then left the house around 07:22 hours and headed on up to Eville to work. I got up there and clocked in. Yeager and Tracey were sleeping on the couches and Troy was sitting in the office chair in the day room. After I clocked in, myself and Troy did a rig check on 6-3. Bowser then showed up, followed by John. The Lykens crew then called down and asked about doing breakfast. We said that was fine, and they said that they would be down. I was not really that hungry since I had somethign when I got to work. While they were making breakfast, the tones went off for an overdose in Halifax Township. Bower took off in 6-2 and John decided that we would follw Bowser class 3 until 13 got out on the call. While out tones went off just after we came off of the Eville Mountain and I went responding as soon as he was dispatching. We ended up getting caneled, which I figured. We went back and I had 4 pieces of toast. We ended up taking a call that was BLS from, 6-5 in I isis and we took the guy up to Pottsville Sundury. Aftwe we got what we needed. When we got back, I clocked out and then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then read the paper. Amanda had asked me if I wanted to go to the same place and the same time. So I left the house at 16:00 hours and headed up to the fire house. Once at the fire house I loaded everything into the Utility and then put my gear in the Utility. I then pulled the Engine out, pulled the Utility out and then backed the Engine in. I then left and stopped at Rite Aid first and dropped of my two perscriptions. I then stopped at Shell and got a Gatorade and then I headed on down to meet Amanda at TGI Firday's. I got there and we had dinner together and talked about things. We then left there and headed to HACC for out practical trainin for the night. We did Search and Rescue and Hose advancment techniques along with a few tips for each. Crawling through the trailer really chewed up my knees, along with quite a few other people's also. We then cleaned up and I left around 22:15 hours and headed on home. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then continued on back to the fire house. I pulled the Engine out and backed the Utility in and then backed the Engine in. I then put my gear in my stall and then cleaned the face masks from the SCBA's and put them back on the Utility. Computer Fixed, Sort of
I went to bed last night around 01:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 10:00 hours when the pager went off for a sick person in Millersburg Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed to the "Barn". I got there and parked and Carol had already pulled 13-2 out. I got in the driver's seat and off we went. We got there and got the guy loaded up and then began our adventure of meeting up with a medic. We had 6-2 coming down to met us at the High School. However, Steve diverted up to a call in Williamstown, where a guy had been trapped under 6 propane cylinders at Koppy's Propane. So County dispatched us a medic from the city. I told County that we would shot for 3 B's Ice Cream as a meeting spot. Well we got there and 1-8 told us to continue on since they were still on 322. County said about meeting at Station 12, which was fine with me. So I then went to Station 12 and then 1-8 got there, parked and got on and we continued on to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the shed, I logged my time and then headed on home. Once at home I backed up a few more things on my computer. Once I was done with that, I shut it down and disconnected everything and took it into NAS for them to take a look at it. I was there for about 3 hours. They found the 3 viruses and removed them and then they scanned the whole C drive and it came back with no viruses. The only problem I have is we think the virus screwed up my Norton, which I am still working in. I brought the computer home and hooked it back up and it is working fine now. I then ate dinner and watched MASH on TV. I then left the house around 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. The meeting went good. After the meeting a bunch of us went down to the fire house and shot the shit. I left there around 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Computer Problems
I went to bed last night around 01:30 hours and got up this morning ta 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then ate breakfast. I then left the house at 07:05 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and parked and went inside and put my books in the Utility and then grabbed my gear and out my gear in the Utility also. I then pulled the Engine out, then pulled the Utility out, and then backed the Engine in. I then left and headed into town. I stopped at Shell and got an Orange Drink and a bottle of Gatorade. Troy was also there and he got his truck back. I then left Shell and headed on down to HACC. I got there and parked and went inside. We had lecture in the morning and we broke for lunch at 11:00 hours. I went to Pizza Hut again and ate lunch and then left there and went back to HACC. We did vent holes on the roof simulator. We had to make our first 3 cuts with a chain saw, and then the last two cuts using an axe. The axe really took a lot out of me. After we were done with the roof simulator, we switched groups and went oveer with Tom and we went over Possitive and Negative Pressure fans and how to set both up, and then we practiced setting both up. Now keep in mind we did all of this in the rain/snow/sleet and did not really complaing, except for it being so cold. We then cleaned up and I put my gear back in the Utility and headed on home. I stopped at Station 29 to talk to Tom about HACC and the county association. Troy and Helen then stopped to Troy could drop off some of the plywood he had. We got talking to Tom and ended up being there for a little over 1 hour. I then left and headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I pulled the Engine out, backed the Utility in and then backed the Engine in. I then hung my gear up and grabbed my books and got in my car and headed on home. I had a heache that felt like someone was hitting my head with a hammer by the time I got home. I have a high suspcision that it came from all the carbon build up in the burn building that we went through when we did the fan practical. My computer has been acting up and restarting while I am in the middle of doing things. So I am taking it to NAS tomorrow to have them look at it and possibably put a new hard drive in it. Around 20:59 hours, the fire pager went off to assist PSP with a tree removal on Rutter Road. I got dressed and went outside and saw that it was snowing out and it was laying on the roads and the vehicles. I got up there and parked. Ray had pulled in right before me. I ran inside and kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and then grabbed my jacket and helmet and went out to the Engine. Bubba had already pulled the Engine out and I got in the officer's seat. LeeAnn had pulled in also and her and Ray got in the back. Jason then pulled in and he quick ran inside and got his gear and then jumped in the Engine and we took off. It ended up being a bunck of bambo trees that the weight of the snow was causing to sag over the road. Well we ended up cutting down a fair amount of them before we headed back to the station. Once back at the station Troy an Ray cleaned the saws up and put fuel in them and then we put them away. I left up there around 23:10 hours as myself, LeeAnn and Bubba had hung around to shot the shit. I am soon going to bed as I am tired and have to get up tomorrow to take my computer to NAS.

Kind of Busy 24 Hour Shift
I went to bed Thursday night around 02:30 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my suitcase out, grabbed my Essential's Book and put them in my car. I then grabbed my lunch and my Gatorade bottles and then left the house around 07:25 hours and headed to Lykens for work. When I got there and went inside, I saw that 6-8 was gone, so that told me that they were out on a call. I clocked in and then did a rig check on 6-5 as it was the second due unit. I noticed that Tony had not showed up by 08:00 hours, so I called down to Eville to let Tindel know that Tony was not in yet. He told me that he knew, and that Tony would be in by 08:30 hours, which he was. When he got in he went over the spare ALS gear and got that on 6-5 and then we left and headed on down to Special Place for breakfast and to met the Eville crew. We got there and since I had orange juice and something for breakfast when I got in at Lykens, I just ordered a glass of orange juice, a side of toast and a side of bacon. We were almost done with breakfast, when the tones went off for chest pains in Washington Township. The Eville crew took that call and me and Tony finished breakfast. We then stopped at the Eville station to drop off Steve's breakfast and then we shot the shit with Steve and Bowser and John who had stopped to get supplied before heading back up to Lykens. We then left and headed back up to Lykens and got 6-5 back in and then they got back with 6-8. Tony went over the ALS gear and I did a rig check on 6-8. John then left and Bowser sat down and started his chart when the tones went off for breathing problems in Elizabethville Borough. Kathy took the squad and went to the scene as a QRS and we went responding from Lykens. We got down there and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We stopped at Eville for Tony to pick up some supplies to restock and Mike Wertz was there talking to Matt and Kathy. He wanted to talk to Tony before we headed back up to Lykens and went out in to the bay and talked to him for about 1 hour. We then left and headed back up to Lykens. Once back up there, I ate lunch and then sat down to do some review from my Essentials book. Tony laid down on the couch and slept for about 3 hours until the tones went off for a BLS call in Washington Township, which the BLS crew from Eville handled. We then ran over to Dairy Queen and got dinner and then stopped at Tower Sales so Tony could pick up some chips and then went back to the station and ate dinner. We had just finished when the tones went off for a Hemorrhage in Lykens Borough. We went responding and it ended up being downgraded to BLS and we got the lady loaded up and took her down to Hershey. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once we got back, I did my chart and then went to bed at 01:00 hours. I woke up at 07:30 hours and got my stuff put away and took my suitcase, Essentials book, and lunch box out to my car. Don Deppen and Jim were the oncoming crew. When Don came in, I gave him my report on the rig and then I clocked out and left and headed on down to Eville to put my times in. Once down there I put my times in and then shot the shit for a little bit and then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into my PJ's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I then woke up this afternoon at 13:30 hours and took a shower. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I then sat down to watch the Penn State game and then also eat dinner while I watched the game. We played very well during the first half, and then we blew it during the second hald, eventually losing 35-31 to Michigan State. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Another Boring Day
Went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning around 09:45 hours when my mother called me. She said that the Sears guy had justed called and said he would be at the house in about 20 minutes to do routine maintence to the snow blower. She asked me if I would talk to the guy and take him out back and let him in the shed. After a little bit of grumbling about wanting to get some more sleep. I started to get dressed. My mother then went into her bedroom and started getting dressed because she didn't think I was going to do it. I told her to go sit back down and that I was going to do it. She told me to forget it, and I told her NO, that I was going to do it and it was not a problem. The next thing I knew she was sitting on her bed breathing rapidly. I knew right away what it was, as I have seen it many times before. She was having a panic attack. I basically talked to her and tried to get her to slow her breathing down. After about 3 to 4 minites, she came out of it (thought I think it was only becuase she passed out for a few seconds). I told her to lay down in bed and get some rest as she looked really tired, and she did. I then finished getting dressed and then met the Sears guy. I took him out back to the shed and he did the maintenace to the snow blower. When I went back into the house, my mother was dressed and sitting in the chair in the living room. I told her that she should still be in bed resting, but she said that my brother had called her cell phone and she got up to answer it. The Sears guy then came in the house and my mother wrote out a check for him and then he left. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I then went into my room and worked on the picture that Troy wanted me to work on. I then went through my files in my filing cabinet and got rid of some stuff that was over 2 years old that I did not need anymore. While I was doing this, I was also watching All My Children on TV. The Sue called me and we talked for about 40 minutes while she was on her way home from Harrisburg and I worked on going through my files. I then got back on the computer to do a few things. It was a slow and boring day with no calls. I went off duty at 16:00 hours and Sue went on for me. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things on the computer. Around 18:40 hours, the pager went off for a CVA in Halifax Township. Sue called me on my cell phone and asked me who the medic on duty was and I told her it was Ron. I am soon going to be leaving to head into town to get my hair cut. When I am done in there, I am going to stop at the "Barn" and put my time in for today and then headed on home. Once at home I am going to take a shower and then will be back on the computer. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
My Day to Crash in Bed
I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and I crashed in bed today. I did not get out of bed until 15:00 hours this afternoon and I felt well rested. I got up and got changed into street clothes and then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then watched MASH on TV. I left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good and there were really no problems, except for your one or two people bitching about the kitchen always winning the money from the rip off tickets. After bingo was over, we cleaned up and then myself, Bubba, LeeAnn and Jason went down to the fire house and talked for a little bit. I left there around 21:50 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and had a light snack. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Dinner with Amanda Again
I left the house last night around 19:20 hours and headed up to Lykens to work. I stopped at Tower Sales and grabbed a pack of two cookies and a small bottle of chocolate milk for a snack and then headed over to the station. John was already there and Jim was still inside. I went inside and clocked in and then Jim told me that Tony was stopping in at 06:30 hours so they could make a MICU up in Lykens. Jim said that I could then either go home, or head on down to Eville. I told him that more then likely I was going to head down to Eville, because by the time I would get home, it would be time for me to turn around again. Jim them left and I sat down to watch some TV and eat my snack. John was working on a tripsheet and when he was done with that, someone called him on his cell phone and he went out into the bay and talked to this person for at least almost 3 hours. He then came back in around 23:50 hours. I then went to bed at 24:00 hours and slept pretty good. It has been awhile since I slept on a couch, especially the ones in Lykens. Tony then got there at 06:35 hours and I packed my stuff up and then got in my car and headed on down to Eville. I got there and parked and went inside and Zach was sleeping on the couch. I ate my breakfast while I got on the computer to check a few things. Carl then showed up, shortly followed by Tony. Me and Carl then did a rig check on 6-7 and then I swept the carpet, while Carl moped the floor in the kitchen. We then left and headed up to Special Place to meet the Lykens crew for breakfast. We got there and went inside and ordered out food when the pagers went off for an ALS call in Halifax Township. Tony left for that call, but ended up getting cancelled. A few minutes after Tony left, the pagers went off again for a ALS call in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. Tindel, Matt, and Jason all got up and left. That left just me and Carl to eat breakfast. After Tony got cancelled, he went back to the station. Tindel ended up going down with 20, so Matt and Jason decided to just go to Subway and grab something to eat. When we got back, Matt said that 6-3 had to go down to West End to get new batteries put in it. When we got back, I tried to start 6-3 with no luck. So I ended up putting in in neutral and Carl pushed the unit down the short hill that the unit was parked on and then I stopped in before it went out into the street. We then moved 6-7 over in front of 6-3 and tried to jump start it with no luck. We ended up having Wendy call down to West End to see if Fred could come up and put the batteries in it. He said that was not a problem and about 10 minutes later he was there. It took him about 20 minutes to change both batteries and then it started like a charm. I then backed 6-3 back beside the building and then me and Carl spent about 1 hour talking to Troy Enders. Troy is the new EMT at the company and I have known him for about 2 years now since I first met him on a call in Millersburg, where he was the patient. We then went inside to watch some TV. I ate lunch and was just finishing up when the pager went off for a sick person in Elizabethville Borough at the Keepler Home. Me and Carl took the call and it turned out ot be a bullshit call, as it was just a routine transport. While we were there, the tones went off again for another ALS call in Halifax Township at the doctor's office. We finally got the guy loaded up and headed on down to Harrisburg. I drove and Carl teched in the back. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the station, I clocked out and headed on home. Once I got home and was changing clothes, Amanda sent me a text and asked me if I wanted to meet her at Ruby's Tuesday's for dinner again this week. I said sure that was not a problem. I then read the paper and then got changed into street clothes. I grabbed my books and then got in my car and left the house arounf 16:26 hours and headed on into town. I stopped at Shell and picked up an orange drink and then continued on down to Union Deposit. I got down there and pulled in and for once Amanda was actually waiting for me to get there. We went inside and again sat at the bar. I had two Coors Lights to drink and then a glass of water. I had a cheeseburger with fries. Amanda hazd the salad bar with two Mini Turkey Burgers. She then got something to eat for desert. She also had two glasses of wine with her dinner. She could not eat all of her desert, so she asked me to finish it, which I did. We then left and headed to HACC for class. Class was good tonight and we got out of there around 22:00 hours and I headed on home. I talked to Bubba on the way home and he had ms stop at the fire house and check something for him and then I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Fall at Rite Aid
Went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 11:50 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate lunch while I did a few things on the computer real quick. I then got in my car around 12:55 hours to head into the "Barn" to meet Dohn to go over the Sam Sling and the Smart Triage System. As I started my car up, my pager went off for a fainting at Rite Aid in Halifax Township. I made my way into the shed. I got there and parked and got in 13-1 and we took off. We got there and Sue was already on the scene taking the guys BP. We got the low down and then Ron showed up. After we did everything, the guy said that he did not want to go down to the hospital. We tried to talk him into it. We even called his family doctor, Dr. Little, but still to no avail. We were able to get him to agree to let us take him out to Dr. Little's office in the ambulance. After we dropped him off, we went back to the shed. Once back, Dohn went over the Sam Sling and the Smart Triage system with me. I then logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the refusal. I then headed on home. Once at home I read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I am now eating dinner while I watch MASH on TV. Kathy from Medic 6 just called me about 20 minutes ago to ask me if I would work the night shift in Lykens with John to make a BLS truck and said I would. So when I am done eating dinner I have to get cleaned up and ready for work.
Double Trainings
Went to bed last night at 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I then had pancakes for breakfast and then got my books together and grabbed my flash light and then put them in my car and startedit up to let it run for a little bit since there was frost on my window's when I went out. I grabbed the paper and took that in the house and then I left and headed to the fire house. Once there I grabbed my gear and put in in my trunk and then headed on into town. I stopped at Shell and got an Orange Drink and then continued on my way down to class. I got there and parked and went inside. We had lecture all in the morning. We took our first break and when we came back in we started discussion what we wanted to do with the t-shirts. We had just finished discussing then when the fire alarm in the building went off. We all grabbed out jackets and headed outside until the all clear was given. Ron who was doing a RIT Operations Class had turned on a smoke machine in a secure room that had no form of ventalation to see if the smoke machine worked, and that was what set the fire alarm off. We finished the lecture stuff around 11:45 hours and then we broke for lunch. I went to Pizza Hut and had a family order of bread sticks and a personnel pan pizza. I left there around 12:40 hours and headed on back. Once back at HACC, we parked on the back lot and then got in our gear and met over at Engine 29 by the drafting pad. We then set up a 2-1/2" hand line and two 1-3/4" hand lines. We then went through the different nozzles and then got to practice with the combination nozzles and the smoothbore nozzles. We then were show a foam eductor and got to play with the foam nozzle and then were shown a portable deck gun as a master stream. We then packed everything away and we were done for the day. I left and headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and picked up a few things. I then headed on home. I stopped at the fire house and dropped off my gear and then headed on home. Once at home I relaxed and read the comics and started reading the sports. I left the house around 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire hall for Con-Ed Training tonight. After training was over, I headed on home. Once at home I finished reading the sports section and then took a shower. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Met A Girl at the Bar
I went to bed Friday morning around 02:00 hours as I was really tried from Essentials training Thursday night. Before I went to bed, I called Bill and asked him if he could do my 4 am to 2 pm Friday shift for me, since my lower back was bothering me some from training. After some thinking, he finally said that he would do it. I slept in some and finally got up Fridat afternoon at 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I told my father that we were taking two cars up to the County Firemen's Executive Meeting at Millersburg since I was heading over to Shade Mountain when the meeting was over. I left the house around 18:20 hours to head up to Millersburg. I stopped at the "Barn" and picked up my check and then continued up to Millersburg. I got up there and went in and Don and Darlene Deitz were already there. My father came in a few minutes after me. I then talked to Sean Grimm about Millersburg hosting the convention in 2010. I then ate a sandwich and chips and then the meeting started at 20:00 hours. Before the meeting, Don took Jackie up to a office in 20's station and talked to her about the taunting and harrassing. The meeting went good. I read the email that Sean had sent me about HACC and I was actually surprised at the reaction I got from it. A lot of people want to actually do something about it and sit down and talk with the administrator's from HACC. After the meeting was over, I left Millersburg around 21:00 hours and headed on down to Halifax. Before I left 20's station, I changed t-shirts. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then headed on over to Shade Mountain. I got over there a few minutes before 22:00 hours. When I made the turn off of 11/15 onto Route 104, that was when it started snowing out. I went in and got a Coors Light. I found the group and Jason gave me my songs. Bubba then saw me and pulled me over to another part of the bar that was quieter and asked me how the meeting went. I told him and then we went back over and sat down. I got to sing twice for the night, as it was crowded more then usually that I have seen. I had a total of 6 Coors Lights and a Yeager Bomb. Around 23:45 hours I went out into the small room between the inside door and the outside door and drunk called Robby and Tande. While I was talking to them, a tall, thin, blonde women came in the door and she waved her finger at me and said she wanted to talk to me before I left for the night. Robby heard and said he would let me go. I then drunk called Jess and left her a message. She was supposed to come over, but Jas got sick and she could not make it over. I then went back inside and told Bubba about the blonde. I then sat down at the table and when I came back from getting another drink, she saw me and came over to me and asked me if my last name was Snyder. I told her no, it was Shutt. She said that I looked just like someone she knew. I told her I would talk to her if she wanted me to. We both put our arms around each other and before I knew it, I saw Troy taking a picture with Jason's camera and then Bubba came over with his cell phone and was trying to take a picture. He said that there was not enough light and had us move to a spot where there was more light and he took the picture. He then asked her if she was going to dance with me, and she said she did not feel like dancing right now. Bubba said he meant later and she said sure. I then went and sat back down. Towards the end of the night, me and Jason played three games of pool and I finally won, winning the first two games and he beat me on the third game. Bubba finally sang a slow song and I found the blonde and we danced. She laid he head on my shoulder and I laid my head on her shoulder while we danced. She said she would be back there on November 30th when we come over again. I am just kicking myself now for not getting her name, phone number, age, or where she lives. We left the bar around 02:00 hours. When I went out, they started throwing snow balls using the snow off of my car and Bubba's car since I had parked beside them. I followed LeeAnn all the way to the Clarks Ferry Bridge, where she pulled over to pick up Adam, at which point I passed them and continued on back to the fire house. I got there and parked and then Bubba's car pulled in and then LeeAnn's pulled in. We all talked for a little bit and then I headed on home. I got home at 03:11 hours and took a shower as I smelled like smoke and went on duty at 12:00 hours today. I then went to bed. I was rocked out of bed around 08:10 hours when the pager went off. After 13 got out, I reset the pager and went back to sleep. I was then again rocked out of bed around 11:52 hours when the pager went off for a fall victim in Halifax Township at Denny's Lennies. Dohn and Bill took that one. The pager then went off a second time shortly after they dispatched the Halifax Township call, for a call in Perry County, in Marysville for chest pains. I got up and slowly got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". Just as I was getting ready to pull in, county said that Perry had placed us in service. I then turned around and headed on home. While on the way home, I listened to the Penn State Game. Once at home I grabbed my mother's radio and turned the Penn State game on and listened to that while I ate lunch and read the paper. Penn State won, beating Temple, 31 to 0. While I was listening to the game, my father turned the Wisconscion and Michigan game on TV and was watching that. After the Penn State game was over, we watched that game and Wisconscion knocked off Michigan. I then went back to my bedroom and got on the computer to do a few things while I watched the Illinois and Ohio State game. I ate dinner while I watched the game and did a few thigns on the computer. Illinois knocked offf #1 Ohio State, 28 to 21. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Confidence Maze
Went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch together and then grabbed my bottle of Gatorade, my jacket and then got in my car and headed on up to Eville to work. I got up there and parked and went inside and clocked in. I had past Kuntz when I was heading to the station. Kathy was still there as she had done a 24. Jason was already doing the rig check so I did not have to worry about that. I then ate breakfast. By this time Wendy had showed up along with Leah, Yeager and then Steve came in last, like he usually does. It was a uneventfuly day, with us only running 6-3 up to the garage in Lykens so it can get the oil changed in it. We went to Jo-Jo's for lunch and I got a Ham and Cheese Sub with a side order of Fries. I clocked out around 14:04 hours and headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then did a few things on the computer. I then ate while I did a few things on the computer. I then left the house around 17:15 hours and headed up to the fire house to get the Utility ready for training tonight. I got up there and parked and went inside and put my books on the front seat. I then grabbed the two big tarps from the station and put them in the back of the Utility. I then put my gear in the front seat, which was followed by the SCBA and spare cylinder from the Tanker. I then pulled the Engine out and then the Utility out and parked that and backed the Engine in. Bubba then came up by this time and decided to come down to training with me. So I moved my gear to the back and Bubba puth is gear in and off we wen.t We stopped at Shell and I got a bottle of Gatorade and Bubba got a tea. We also ran into Troy at shell. We talked to Dave for a little bit and then we both left at the same time. We got down there and I parked the Utility beside the pavillion and we unloaded al lof the packs and mine and Bubba's gear and then I parked the Utility behind Tom's truck. We then packed up and headed over to the confidence maze. I was the first person in. When you went in, Brcue had me feel the door to see if it was hot or cold. He told me it was hot. So I then went inside and proceeded to crawl on my hands and kness towards the beginning of the maze. I encounted a door, which I felt and found it to be cold. I then opened the door and followed the hose on the ground. I first went through the over climb of the slant, and then under the second slant. I then made a left turn and went over four expossed flor studs. I then went up the 4 steps, making sure to sound each step and said out loud that the fourth step was missing. When I made my way to the top, my pack started hitting something. After taking a short break, I told Bruce that I did not think I could make it. He told me that it was possible and I should think about turing on my side. I did this and was able to get through. I then came to the four ropes hanging down and I procceed to put my pack in the corner created by the wall and floor and was abel to pull myself along. I then climbed up the ladder and this was where I encountered the most problems as I could not get turned around because my pack keeping hitting the underside of the steps. After about 10 minutes of talking with Bruce, Matt and Tom, and a lot of shifting and trying things, I finlly got my foot over the top and slid down backwards on the incline. I then crawled out from underneath the stairs and then bruce had me find the electrical box on the wall and determine if it was on or off. I said it was on and he asked me to demonstrate how to shut off the electrical and the gas. The gas was then next thing to find and I checked that and then was sent outside and back over to the pavillion. I had 1,380 psi in the clyinder yet and, which is just under 14 minutes. I then went back over and sat until everyone got through the maze. After everyone was full, Tim went to start the process of refilling the cylinders while we did our tarp practical. After we were done with that, we loaded all of the equipment back up and then left and headed on back. I stopped at Shell and gor fuel and a Gatorade for me. Once back at the station we unloaded the gear and it was out away. We then put the tarps away and then cleaned the mask from the air packs. By this time Lonny had showed up. After we were done I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and sine my lower back was giving me some problems, I am having Bill cover my shift for Friday. I am now going to bed as I am tired.

Day to Sleep In
I went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this afternoon around 15:45 hours. I used today to crash in bed and rest up from everything I have done over the past 7 days, with me getting up early almost every single day. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I left the house at 17:28 hours and headed up to the fire hall for bingo tonight. I helped sell the stuff in the beginning and then left around 18:50 hours and headed into the Halifax Township building for a County EMA Radio meeting. I got in there and told my father that I had to leave early since there was only one caller at bingo. Bill then sent me a text around 19:34 hours, but I did not get it until 19:42 hours when I checked my cell phone. I told me father that I had to leave and then got up and left. I raced back to the station and parked and went back up to the hall. About 10 minutes after I got back, I started the second half of bingo. After bingo was over, myself, Bubba, Robby, Jason, LeeAnn and Tande went down to the fire house and we shot the shit. Robby and Tande then left and then the four of us continued to talk. I left there around 22:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I have to get up early for work tomorrow.

Approved for Driving
Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my lunch and Gatorade bottle and then left the house around 07:25 hours and headed up to Eville for work. I got up there and parked and went inside and Bowser was there. He had stopped in to grab a cup of coffee before heading up to Lykens. When I walked in, he told me that my truck had just arrived at Harrisburg Hospital. Bowser then left and a few minutes later, Wendy walked in. I then clocked in and got on the computer to check a few things. Ron then came in and then Steve came in. Steve told me that Zach would be inm late, but he would be in before I had to leave. Bowser then called down and said about making breakfast. Me and Ron did not care so he said he would be down shortly. I then ate breakfast and then we were standing around talking, when the tones went off for a call in Schuylkill County. That was the Lykens crew's and they took off and ended up getting cancelled while enroute to the scene. While they were gone, UPS showed up and dropped off some packages. By this time 6-5 had come back and Steve had myself and Yeager care the boxes out to the med room. We then started unpacking them and the next thing I know I heard Steve swearing. Here they sent him for cases of of Aspirin, instead of just 4 bottles. We then finished putting the stuff away and then the Lykens crew left. I then sat down on the couch to watch some TV. Ron sat down on the other couch and fell asleep while we were watching TV. I then ate lunch at 12:30 hours. Somewhere in there the tones went off for chest pains in Lykens Borough at Don's Food Rite. Then around 12:51 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. Me and Ron got up and got in 6-3 and off we went. We got there and we went into the house and then he got in the back of 20-1 and they took him down to the hospital. By the time that they left the scene, it was 13:20 hours. I decided to head back to Eville and then send Zach down to puck Ron up. I decided to run up to Shell and got fuel since we were done to 1/4 of a tank. I got fuel and then went back to the statiom. I clocked out at 14:05 hours and headed on home. I stopped by the township building and voted and then headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then ate lunch while I was on the computer doing a few things and watching MASH on TV. I left the house around 17:20 hours and headed on up to the fire house. Once there, I loaded my gear in to the cab of the Utility along with the air pack and spare cylinder that I pulled off of the Tanker for tonight. Once I got everything on the Utility, I pulled the Engine out and then the Utility and then backed the Engine back in. I then stopped at Shell and got a Gatorade and then headed on down to HACC. Class went good, we did an SCBA Inspection, the 60 second donning drill. On my third try I did it in 59.9 seconds. We then changed out cylinders that needed to be changed and we packed back up and walked around the parking lot and up into the drill tower to see how long it would take us to suck our cylinder dry. After we were done, we refilled the cylinders and got stuff cleaned up and loaded back into the Utility. I then headed on back home. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed on back to the station. Once there Lonny pulled the Engine out and I backed the Utility back in and then he backed the Engine in. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am extremly tired.

Early Morning Call
Last night I was really tired and ended up falling asleep in my computer chair. I woke up around 24:00 hours and ended up shutting everything down and going to sleep at 00:05 hours. I was rocked out of bed this morning around 07:49 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my job sweat and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". While I was on my way in, County told 6-2 that the fire company had been dispatched for forcible entry. A minute later when I looked into my mirror, I saw Kim behind me with her blue lights running. I got in there and Carol was already there. I parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and Scott, Kim, Charlie, Tom and a handful of other fire company people were already there. They had made entry through a window. We got the lady loaded up and Tim got on board and we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, Tim asked if we could stop somewhere so he could get coffee. Carol said about Dunkin Doughnuts on Second Street, which is where we stopped. I got two doughnuts and then we continued on back. We dropped Tim off at the squad and then headed back to the shed. Once back there I started my tripsheet and then Kim came in. I finished my tripsheet and then the two of us talked for a little bit and then I left and headed up to Giant. Once at Giant I picked up two bags of chips and one gallon each of Diet Iced Tea and Milk. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and then read the paper. I then changed into street clothes at 12:00 hours as I was off duty by then. I then watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the compute to do a few things. I ate dinner while I did a few things on the computer and watched MASH on TV. I then left at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. The meeting went very good and then afterwards we all stood around and shot the shit with each other. I then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Ham Dinner SOLD OUT!!!
Went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes. I got the five pies that my mother baked yesterday and got them loaded up into my car. I then grabbed something to eat for breakfast and left around 07:42 hours and headed up to the fire house for the ham dinner today. I got up there and stopped out front of the hall and took all my pies in and then parked my car beside the old firehouse. I then went into the hall and ate breakfast and then helped set some things up and moving some things around. Robin then called Martha and asked if anyone wnated anything from McDoanld's. I had her pick me up an Orange Juice and a Susasge Biscuit. She then got there and I ate that and then we set up some more stuff. Cakes and Pies kept coming in and Martha was working on cutting them. Bill then showed up and brought in the two cakes that his mother had made. This time we had an over abundence of cakes. We started serving people around 10:30 hours, which is pretty normal for us. We had one table seated and eating and it was myself, Robby, Jason Faust, Matt, and Andy standing at the one window when all of a sudden Martha walked farily quickly to the back room. I told Sabrina to go back and check on Martha. Next thing I know I heard Sabrina yell for me and Bill to get back there now as Martha could not breath. I took off for the kitchen and ran into the arm of one of the guys that had just come in the hall. I quickly appologized and ran to the back room. Troy and Helen were already back there. Helen was digging through Martha's purse looking for a Benadryl and Troy had already handed Martha a bottle of water. I yelled out to Robby to go get the med bag off of the Engine and bring it back up to the hall since it has oxygen in it. We got her on the oxygen and she was still having some problems and then Bill said he was calling 911. By now Martha had gotten the Benadryl in her and it was starting to take affect. Right after they dispatched for it, I told Bill I was calling in to cancel EMS as she was doing better now, and I proceeded to do so. We told her not to do anything for at least 30 minutes and to just relax. IU went back to serving and it picked up very fast at one point. By 13:15 hours, we had to shut down as we had SOLD OUT!!! That was a first for me. We sereved a total of 441 people between eat-in's and take-out's. We started cleaing up and were all done by 16:00 hours. After we had most everything cleaned up, it was time for the help to eat. There was very, very little ham left, but enough for us to eat. Jason Faust, Andy, Robby and Lyle, started having butter packet fights and then they switched to applesauce. Andy got me good with one and then I tried to get him. This continued on for a good 30 minutes. People then started to clear out and then me, LeeAnn and Helen went down to the station so that Helen could pratice with the air pack. We did that for about 1 hour and then we all left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Eventful 36 Hour Shift
I went to bed Thursday night around 02:30 hours and got up Friday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch, Essentials books, and my Gatorade's together and then left around 07:25 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I passed 6-3 at the Faust Farm, it was heading towards Halifax. I got there and parked and clocked in and then checked I-Net to see if Eville had a call. I saw that 6-3 went to the hospital with 13 on a call, so most likely, Zach was on his way down to pick up Ron. I then checked the schedule and I heard Wendy come in and we were talking when I heard Jim come in. I talked to Steve when he came in and then once Zach and Ron got back, I did a rig check on the unit. Jim then wanted to go eat breakfast. I had already had a Honey Bun and some OJ for breakfast. He said that he wanted to go to Gunder's for breakfast, so we headed over that way. After we had breakfast, we went back to the station. Once back at the station, I got on the computer to check a few things out while Jim did something. The tones then went off for a call in Wiconisco that Tindel and Matt handled. I then ate lunch and then Steve had me help him go through the supplies to see what we needed to reorder. The Lykens crew then went available and shortly afterwards, the tones dropped for breathing problems in Wiconisco, that once again Tindel and Matt handled. Steve then told me to come with him as he wanted to get 6-6 started and moved around front so we could take the "M" Cylinder out of it before Spittler came to pick it up. We decided to drive it around some to try and get it running more smoothly. While we were out driving around, the tones went off for abdominal pains in Wayne Township. Steve tool me back to the station and Jim was already pulling 6-3 out of the bay. I got in and off we went. We got there and the lady was a real bitch. I walked in and asked her how she was feeling and she said "Don't talk to me." I told her that I had to talk to her to find out what was wrong and she said that she had abdominal pains and that she wanted to leave for the hospital now. So we walked her out an helped her onto the stretcher and then put her in the back of the ambulance and we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, I drove back to the station. We got back there and the Lykens crew was there. After I dropped the stuff off from the call and then we decided to go over to the Gratz Auction to get dinner. We got over there and Jim looked around outside and then we went inside and met up with Tindel and Matt and they had fish sandwichs and I had a small french fry. I then got a large Sprite and a slice of pizza. We then headed back to the station. Once there I did my chart from the abdominal pains call and then checked a few other things online. I then went out into the day room and sat down and Steppler pulled in and came inside. Around 19:45 the tones went off for a stroke in Upper Paxton Township. Steppler told Jim that he would take it and said he had to go grab his stuff out of his car before we went responding. Meanwhile I got my jacket on and then went out to the truck to look up the street to make sure I knew where I was going. I then got in the truck and Steppler got in and off we went. We got there and 20-2 was there and we went inside the house. Lanny gave a big run down and then cancelled Steppler. We went available and went back to the station. Once there, Steppler pulled the gear out of the Squad and put it in the Med Room and started doing some med checkes when the tones went off for an Unconscious Person in Williams Township, which meant that the Lykens crew was going to handle the call. Shortly after 24-2 went responding, I heard County tell them that it was now a cardiac arrest. I told Steppler this and he said to hold on until 6-5 went responding to confirm it. When 6-5 went responding, County told them a cardiac arrest. Steppler said that we would head up that way to assist. We ended up getting to the scene and beaching the truck behind 6-5 and went up to 24-2 and got in to help. I first got in the side and then Steve, who was also there helping, told me to get in the back and to start getting meds out of the med bag for him to put in the IV. I was really going to town, flipping the caps for like Johnny Gage from Emergency. It ended up not doing a whole lot as he did not make it. We then took one of 24's members back to their station since someone had taken her truck back there and then we headed on back down to Eville. Once back there I checked my email real quick and then laid down on the couch around 00:30 hours. Around I believe it was 05:20 hours the tones went off for seizures in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. I got up and got my boots on and then got my stuff on my belt and then me and Steppler headed out to 6-3 and got in and took off. We got there and they were brining the lady out and Steppler road along. I then went up to Sheetz and parked and went inside and grabbed a Chocolate Milk to drink and then went back out to the unit and slept until 20-2 got back with Steppler and then we headed back to the station. We got back around 07:30 hours so I decided to just stay up. Once back, we emptied the trash cans and then I ate my breakfast that I had packed. Don Deppen then showed up for his 24 hour shift. Tindel then called and told me to stay in Lykens. Yeager had called off on Friday due to a medical problem. Fortney was to be the medic, but called off sick at 06:00 hours in the morning, so there was going to be nobody in Lykens for the day shift. 20 then got hit for an accident and Steppler was already on his way up to meet Tindel to get the Sup cell phone. He went responding and they ended up needing another BLS unit, so Steppler had them dispatch us to the scene. Me and Don got in 6-3 and took off. We got there and talked to our patient and then got her on a backboard and then I drove and we took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. While on the way back, Jim called Don's cell phone and talked to him. When we got back, I was to head up to Lykens, since Jim took it upon himself to come in as the medic. Well once we got back, I talked to Steppler for a few minutes and then Williamstown got hit for a call with bleeding that was a class 1 call and county called for an ALS unit out of Schuylkill County. Steppler told me to start heading up to Lykens while he called County to let them know that we now had a medic in Lykens. I made it ti Loyalton and I called Jim and told him where I was at and he told me that he was just going to take 6-5 and respond as a medic, which he did. I got up to Lykens and parked and then went inside and got on the computer to check a few things. Jason then came in around 11:30 hours to get ready for the little tigers game in Wiconisco. I ate lunch and watched the first half of the Penn State game. We then headed over to the game. I was with Jason until Jim went available and came and picked me up and then went back to the Lykens station. We were there for the rest of the day and I watched the rest of the Penn State game and we won, beating Prudue. Jim then said he was leaving around 18:00 hours. As he was clocked out at 18:15 hours, the tones went off for breathign problems in Wiconisco Township. Jim tossed the phone to me and told me to call Steppler and tell him that he had just clocked out, which I did. He then took the ALS gear off of the truck and I told Jim that I was heading to the scene in 6-5 as a QRS. I got there and it ended up being a refusal. Once we cleared the scene, I took 6-5 back and parked it at Lykens, called Jo-Jo's and ordered a sub and then headed on down through to Eville. I picked up my sub and then went to Eville to finish out my shift. I clocked out at 20:09 hours and left and headed for home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Very Slow Day at Medic 6
I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my Essentals books together, my lunch and my Gatorade bottle together and put them in my car. I then left the house around 07:30 hours and headed up to Eville for work. I got up there and clocked in around 07:42 hours and then did my rig check on 6-3. I then ate breakfast. Tommy had left already and Zach and Wendy were already there. Wertz said that Ron was going to be in late as he had a family emergency come up, so Tim would be coming down from Lykens and covering until Ron got in. Tim finally got in around 09:00 hours and they had a late call that they had transported to Pottsville. Wertz then left and then the Lykens crew which was Jonh, Bowser and Jason came down to pick up a few supplies and asked us if we wanted to go somewhere for breakfast. We said sure. So me and Zach got in 6-3 and he had to run up to the bank to grab some money real quick and then we headed back to Special Place. We got there and parked and went inside and sat down at the table with everyone else. We sat there for about 3 minutes and Zach asked if they had ordered yet and Bowser said no. Bowser then got up and got us a few menu's and we sat there for another 3 minutes and still no one came over. So we decided that we were not going to sit around and longer and got up and left and went up to the Subway in Wal-Mart to get breakfast. I only got a soft pretzel and a bottle of chocolate milk. We then left and headed back to the station. We got there and I sat down at the table and started to read the chapter on Salvage and Overhaul. After I was finished with that chapter, I decided to just go ahead and finish reading all of the chapter for Mod D. I spent the next 3 to 4 hours sitting at the table reading the rest of the chapters and doing the corresponding pages in the workbook. Around 13:30 hours, the tones went off for an unconscious person in Upper Paxton Township that Tim took in. Shortly after that, the tones went off again for breathing problems in Millersburg Borough that 6-5 handeled. The only break I had was around 14:00 hours when Steve ran me up to Swab's in the squad to pick up 6-5 and bring it back to the station. Once back I ate lunch while I continued to read. I finally finished around I believe it was almost 16:00 hours. Me and Zach then ran up to Koppy's since he was getting hungry. I got two cheeseburgers when I was there and ate them when we got back to the station while I watched TV. By this time Tim was back. Around 17:00 hours the tones went off again for a Diabetic problem in Millersburg Borough that Tim went to. Ron then got there arond 17:45 hours and then Tim got back around 18:30 hours. I clocked out at 20:01 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Two Working Structure Fires in One Day
Went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and was awoken this morning around 05:15 hours when the EMS pager went off for and accident with injuries in front of Giant. It ended up being in the parking lot of Giant. I was not on, but I listened to it anyway for awhile, and then I reset my pager and went back to sleep. The around 07:00 hours, Sue sent me a text message that they were still sitting at Giant waiting for the guy's wife to show up and pick him up to take him home. We sent a few messages back and forth and then the pager went off again for another call. Carol picked Bill up at Giant and they handled that call. About that same time Sue said the guy's wife showed up and picked him up and she went available. She then called me on her way home and we talked a little bit. She also asked me if I could cover for Kim from 11:00 hours to 14:30 hours. I said that was not a problem and then went back to bed. I was rocked out of bed at 10:01 hours when the fire pager went off for the Tanker to assist Company 21 with a working structure fire. I jumped out of bed and got my socks on, grabbed a shirt threw that on and tyhen got my jeans on. I grabbed my shoes, wallet, cell phone and pager and then my keys and ran out of the house. I jumped in my car and took off for the station. I got there and pulled in and when I got out I heard the Tanker running. I ran inside and kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on. I then put my jacket and helmet in the side compartment and got in the Tanker at the same time as Bubba was. We took off in the Tanker and I put us responding. Ray followed behind us to the scene. On the way up I sent Sue a text that I was heading to a structure fire and would call her when I was done. We got there and Engine 21, 26, Tanker 21, 26, Rescue 21, Truck 22, and Ambulance 6-3 were all on the scene when we got there. We parked and I got out and got my jacket on and told Bubba I was going to take a few pics with my cell phone for on the website. I took two pictures and talked to Tommy who was on with Medic 6. I then heaed over someone's radio that command wanted all available manpower to pack up and stage in front of Engine 21. I went back over to the Tanker and took my glasses and hearing aid out and put them in my little case and gave them to Bubba to put in the Tanker. He was told to turn around so he quickly handed me a mask and I gaive it to Ray while I grabbed my helmet and the air pack from the driver's side. I then got my hood on and got my jacket all zipped and closed up and then Ray helped me get my pack on. I then got the mask on and my helmet and gloves and went over and stood in staging. I then went in with a guy from Gratz and Chief 27 had command in the room we were in. I helped pull ceilings down and hit a few hot spots with the CAFS line off of Engine 21. We were then all ordered out of the structure so that the Fire Marshall could begin his investigation. While I was inside, Command transfered the Tanker to Station 21. Bubba told Tom Welker (who was command) that I was still inside. Tom told him that he could pick me up when the Tanker was released from stand-by, as they needed all the man power they could get. I then took my pack off and took the tank out and laid it on the tarp with the other ones to be filled. I spent that time to grab a drink from rehab, which turned out to be coffee, which I threw away and told them to get water. I then talked to Wertz who was sitting in the squad. I then went over to Truck 22 and talked to Matt and Zach who were both in the bucket and made the hole in the roof. Steve was also there talked to them and Tommy. Joey then came over and asked me if I was ready to get dirty again and I said yes. He then took me and a junior from his company into the one room and told us to shovel the insulation up and take it out of the house. I had the junior shovel the insulation while I started to throw the big shit out of the window onto the pile that was already started. I then heard them release the Tanker and county told them to come pick up their personnel on the scene. I worked inside for quite some time before Bubba got there and then I asked Joey if he needed me any more and he said no that they were good. So I went outside and Bubba asked me if I had gotten the cylinder filled and I said yes and he put my pack back together and then put it away and grabbed my mask while I went over to rehab and asked Tommy for a cup of water, since someone had brought them 4 gallon of water. He gave me the one gallon container as it was almost empty. I took a quite a few swigs and then dumped a little bit of it over my head to cool me down. We then left the scene and headed to Shell to get fuel and then headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I cleaned my mask and put it away and then Bubba did the report on the call. Ray had left and headed on home to try and get some sleep before he had to leave for work. Me and Bubba left a little after 12:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I got the mail and came inside and got out of my clothes and called Sue and told her that I was ready to take over. I then sat down in the chair and I had the fire pager open when I heard county dispatch Company 21 to another structure fire on Route 209. I headed back to my room and started getting dressed again as county told Chief 21 that Millersburg PD was on the scene with smoke pushing from the windows and eves of the house and that they could hear a crackling sound inside the house. Just as I was getting my jeans on the pager went off again for the Tanker to assist Company 21 on a working structure fire. I got back in my car and headed back up to the fire house, I got there and parked and ran inside and kicked my shoes off and got in my bunker pants again and then put my jacket and helmet in the side compartment again and got in the cab again with Bubba and we took off with Ray in tow behind us again. We got up to the scene and were told to take Level 1 staging, so we parked on a side road. They wanted all packed manpower to report in front of Engine 21 and all non-packed manpower to stay with their apparatus. I told Bubba I was going to go take some pictures with my cell phone again and he said ok. As I was walking towards the front of the house, I saw the Medic 6 gang in a huddle around something in the front yard of the house. As I got closer, I saw the cage laying on it's side in the yard and them working on a dog. I ran over to Tommy and saw that he was using a BVM. I told him that we carry the pet rescue mask on the Tanker and he asked if they could be used on a BVM and I said that I would check. So I ran back to the Tanker and yelled to Bubba that they were working on a dog and to bring the pet mask's. We got it hooked up to the BVM, but our efforts were unsuccessful. We then went back to the Tanker and stayed there until we were released. We headed back to the station again and I cleaned up the pet mask and Bubba put the report in again. Ray then left and me and Bubba left then and I headed on home. When I got home my mother was home and I finally got to eat something to lunch. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good and afterwards a few of us sat around and shot the shit. I then left there around 22:10 hours and headed on home. Once at home Sue called me and we talked and then I took a shower around 23:20 hours. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.
