My Year End Review for 2007

I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon around 13:10 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I am soon going to head into town to get buns for the party tonight at the fire hall. I also have to stop and pick up a case of beer for both Jess and Troy and then off to the fire hall for the New Year's Eve Party. My blog tomorrow will consist of everything that goes on at the party tonight.

Now on to my 2007 Year End Review:
January - January for me at least did not start out to well. My glasses broke on January 2nd, and then two days later, something broke in my hearing aid. So January saw me replacing my glasses and getting my hearing aid fixed. January also saw me become a regular aclohol drinker.

February - February was realtively slow for once and not much really happened for or the family in February.

March - March saw Amanda, Sue, Bob, and Steve purchase Dick Wolfe's Garage in Susquehanna Township, fullfilling Amanda's dream to own a garage with her father. March also saw myself, LeeAnn, Troy, Lonny, Helen, Andy, and Eric from 216 and Amanda from 29 and many other local firefighters start the Essentials of Firefighting series.

April - April saw us continuing with Essentials with Mod B.

May - May was a busy month for me. It started out with me and my father going up to State College to a Central Pennsylvania EMA gathering, along with Alf, Kim, Mike and Steve from County to talk about the Tornado that went through the Halifax Area in December of 2006. This was quiet an expierence for me. This was followed by another Fire Expo, but was a sad one, as the decision was made to put Toby to sleep as his blindness had gotten to bad. RIP Toby, my friend and pal. May also saw me turn 22.

June - June was another busy month for me. It saw a surprise birthday party for me at the fire house. The then 2007 Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention in Hummelstown/Union Deposit. I was elected Junior Vice-President at this years convention. Then the following day at the parade, the Tanker finally won 1st Place for Most Functional Tanker in County, and the Utility won a Judge's Award. This was followed by the Tanker winning 1st Place at the Lebanon County Volunteer Firemen's Convention. This would mark a tremondus run of the Tanker taking 1st place at almost every parade we went to.

July - July saw me officially start working Part-Time at Medic 6. It also saw another successful Festival at the fire company. It also saw me get thoughly trashed at the after festival party and then go to the county re-organization meeting in Lykens afterwards. It also marked the beginning of parade season. July also saw me go over to Shade Mountain for the first time and now I am a regular.

August - August saw the fire company have a stand at the Halifax Firemen's Carnival for the first time in years, followed by more trainning and the Start of Essentials again with Mod C. However the 216 group lost two people. Eric for work reason and Andy due to Barb giving birth to their second child. It also saw the fire company have a stand during the week long Millersburg Bicentinnal Celebration. This also saw the Engine win 1st Place at the Halifax Firemen's Carnival and the Utility taking Second Place.

September - This saw me go with the gang from the fire house down to Wildwood, New Jesery to the New Jersey State Firemen's Convention, which will also become a regular thing for me now each year. It also saw us go over to the New Bloomfield Parade and win with each piece, The Tanker taking first and the Engine and Utility taking second. It also saw my apply to become a Full Time EMT at Medic 6.

October - This was a quiet month, with Essentials continnuing and the start up of Bingo season again at the fire company.

November - November saw the Ham Dinner with us selling out for the first time that I have ever heard of, Essentials still continuing and the Fruit coming in to be sorted and delievered again. It also marked the second year the family ate Thanksgiving Dinner out at a restuarant. It also saw me become cleared at 13 to drive with anybody and any class.

December - December saw the fire companies second annual Christmas party, with Amanda being my date. Which was followed the next day by our Live Burn at HACC and the end to a almost year long run of Essentials for us. It saw me play Santa for a second year for the Fire Police and the third year of me playing Santa on Christmas Eve. It also saw me get the news that I wanted that I will become a Full Time EMT for Medic 6 in the new year.

And so another year comes to a close. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but everyone has come through in one piece. The year 2008 holds a lot od knowns and unknowns. At least on known is effective January 1st, 2008, I officially become Full Time at Medic 6 and take over the inventory and ordering of Supplies. The rest will be a wait and see game.

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a safe and HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!

P.S., if I have your cell number, expect a drunk call around midnight!!!! :-)

One More Day

I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade together and then got in my car and left and headed up to Eville to work. Once I got up there I parked and went inside and clocked in. I then did my rig check on 6-3 and then got on the computer to fill out the paperwork and check a few things while I ate breakfast. We then ran up to Wal-Mart at 09:00 hours to meet the Lykens crew for breakfast at Subway. I got a soft pretzel and a bottle of Apple Juice and the three of us ate and were finished by the time the Lykens crew got there. They had just finished eating when the tones went off for chest pains in Wiconisco Township. Tony and Kathy took that and myself, Matt, and Tindel went back to the electronics to browse. We then left and headed back to the station. Once back at the station, Tindel sat down to do some con-ed credits. He had to have 16 hours of con-ed credits by midnight this Tuesday. Matt that got out the x-box and played on that while I watched him, and Tindel did his con-ed credits. He did 8 hours of credits in 2 hours time. The Lykens crew then got back from their call and decided to go over the new bag that was put together to replace the one blue bag that was falling apart at the seams. After we got that all squared away (they ended up putting everything back in the old blue bag until they talk to all the other medic's and get their idea's) the Lykens crew headed back up and the three of us sat down on the couch's and turned on football to watch. All three of us ended up falling asleep on the couchs until around 16:00 hours the tones went off for a sick person in Klingerstown in Northumberland County. The Lykens crew took that cal land I got up and went to the bathroom and that was when I noticed that it was starting to snow outside. We all then got back on the couchs and fell asleep again this time unitl around 17:30 hours when myself and Matt woke up. We then went up to Jo-Jo's and ate dinner. While we were eating dinner, the tones went off for a Medic from 6 to meet up with Ambulance 20-2 in Halifax for abdominal pains. Tindel got up and left and then me and Matt finished our food and then headed back to the station. By this time it was a mix of sleet and snow that was coming down outside. We were only back at the station for a little bit until the tones went off fo and accident with injures in front of the Upper Dauphin Middle School. Me and Matt got in 6-3 and off we went. We got there and there was one car on it's side, with the roof call caved in, and another truck sitting behind the SUV with moderate front end damage. We got refusal's on both of the guys and then started back to the station. We did not get that far, when we saw a car sitting along the side of the road with it's flashers on. So we pulled over and stopped to see what was going on. Thie young girl had spun out and got her car stuck in the grass. She was waiting on her mother and father to get there from Pillow so one of them could drive her home as she was nervous about driving now. We helped her get the car untsuck and then we waited there with her until her parents got there and then we left and headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I did my chart and then clocked out around 20:27 hours and left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then Sue called me and asked me if I wanted to cover some of Amanda's shift tonight since she got stuck down in Middletown due to the weather. I said that was not a problem, so I have been on duty since 22:30 hours and go off at 04:00 hours. I am soon going to bed then as I am tired.

Almost Done Relabeling

I went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade together. I then got in my car and left around 07:30 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I got up there and parked and went inside and clocked in. I then did my rig check and Tracey came out and did his rig check. I then ate breakfast while I got on the computer to do a few things and check a few things. I then finished relabeling the drawers in the BLS Room and then I moved into the ALS Room and started on relabeling stuff in there. Tracey then told me that we had to run 6-7 up to Thompson's in Wiconisco. He said Yeager was going to take 6-7 up and I was going to follow him in 6-3. So I took a break from relabeling and followed Yeager up to Thompson's. He then ran the truck over to the Lykens Station and put it away and then we headed on back down. We stopped at Wal-Mart so Yeager could grab something to eat for lunch and then we headed back to the station. Once back I finished up in the ALS Room by 14:00 hours. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to check a few things. Then around 16:40 hours I believe it was, the tones went off for a fall victim in Wiconisco Township. Me and Yeager got in 6-3 and I put us responding and they told us it was going to be a public assist and that the guy just needed help getting up. We ran up there and helped the guy up and then headed back to the station. Once back at the station, before we backd 6-3 in, we decided to hose it down and then we backed it in. I then got back on the computer to finish checking a few things and then we discussed about where to go for dinner. We ended up going to Jo-Jo's for dinner. I had a Ham and Cheese Sub with a side order of French Fries and a Sprite to drink. After we were done there, we headed back to the station. I clocked out at 20:01 hours and got my stuff together and left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then headed up to the fire house to play cards. When I got there and walked in, Jess, Troy, Luke, Kenny, Katina, Jason, LeeAnn, and Johnny were there. I sat down and watched as they were playing Phase 10. Once that was over we played a game call hand and foot. We all had a good time, especially when we heard the final score for the Penn State/Texas A & M Game, with Penn State winning, 24 to 14. I left there around 00:54 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and packed my lunch for work tomorrow. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Gifts from Sue

I went to bed last night at 04:00 hours and got up this monring around 11:50 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then changed into street clothes and left the house around 13:20 hours and headed into town. I stopped first at Beer 'N' Soda Plus and picked up a case of Coors Light for myself for the New Year's Eve party at the fire house. I then ran up to Giant and picked up 4 bags of chips and a gallon of milk for myself. I then ran over to Sue's to get my Christmas Gifts from her. Bruce was there when I got there and Sue was sitting at the kitchen table putting her make-up on. The three us then talked and then she went upstairs to get socks and shoes to put on. She came back downstairs with her brown boot shoes and knee high nylons. Me and Bruce watched her put them on and then she grabbed the jacket that Amanda got her for x-mas and showed it to me and Bruce. She said it was a size to small and she was going to return it and get one a size larger. Me and Bruce said it looked nice on her and she said it was to tight. Bruce made the comment that when she gets the new one, it will still be tight up top, and I said, I second that. She then went down to the family room to get the jacket she has been wearing and I made a comment to Bruce about how tight her jeans were and about her ass and Bruce seconded that also. We were still talking about it when she came back up and she said something to us about the jacket and I said that we were not talking about her jacket anymore and she just gave both of us a smile and then gave me my bag of gifts and then took Eros out so he could go to the bathroom and we talked some more and then the three of us left, I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then headed on home. I stopped at the fire station and dropped off my case of Coors Light and put it in the fridge and Robby was there. We talked for about an hour and then I headed on home. Once at home I got on the computer and played "The Sims" for a little bit and then made dinner and got on the PS2 and played NFL Head Coach while I ate dinner. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Almost End of the Year

I went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 06:45 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes and then me and my mother got in her car and headed on down to Harrisburg for our doctor appointments this morning. We stopped at the Giant on Union Deposit Road before we went to the doctor's office as we were early. I got two gallons of Diet Iced Tea. My mother got 3 gallons of water for at home. We then went to the doctor's office so we could both have our med checks. After we were done there, we ran over to Big Lots and looked in there, and then went to the bank and I cashed my check and then we headed on home. We stopped at Dollar General before heading home to see what sales they had. After we were done there, we headed on home. Once at home I read the paper. I then ate lunch while I got on the computer to do a few things. I also ate dinner while I was on the computer and watching MASH on TV. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Day After Christmas

I went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:38 hours when the fire pager went off for an unknown type fire outside. I got out of bed and got dressed and then jumped in my car and headed up to the fire house. As I pulled in I heard County tell Dave that the home owner, (Matt Faust's wife) had called back in and said it was just her burn barrell. Dave then had County place the box in service as I was pulling into the station. Ray was standing outside getting his gear on. I got out and he heard them place the box in service and he took his gear back off. I went inside and the Tanker was still running and Robby was sitting in the passenger's seat. I went around the front of the Tanker and closed the bay door. Bubba then told me to shut the Tanker off, which I did and Robby got out of the Tanker. Jason S. then came in followed by Troy and Kenny, and then Jean came in and then left. We all then sat around and and shot the shit. I then left around 11:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then I ate lunch while I got on the PS2 and played NFL Head Coach. I got off at 15:30 hours and then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I was on the computer and watched MASH on TV. I am getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 08:20 hours when my father woke me up and told me it was time to open gifts. I got out of bed and took my pills and grabbed something to drink and then sat down in the living room so the four of us could start opening up presents. I got a few nice things this year. My parents got me this beautiful firefighter nutcracker. My brother got me a DVD of Jeff Dunham, and I also got the PS2 game, NFL Head Coach, which is a really cool game. I also got the basic's, socks, boxers, boot socks, my 16-month calander, and my day to day calander. I also got my yearly 3 pack of Planters Peanuts that I always get. Mu brother also got me a $10.00 gift card to Hooters, and a Penn State neck badge holder, directly from State College. My parents also got me a beard and mustahce trimmer. I then opened up Bill's gifts. He got me a EMT T-Shirt that says "Hard Core EMT" on it. He also got me a die-cast replica of a 1935 Mack Engine. I then read the paper and my brother got his things together and left to head back down to the Grandparents house so he could get things set up for dinner this afternoon. I ate the last two leftover slices of pizza from last night. My father then took a shower and after he got out of the shower he said he was not feeling well and his sinuis's were bothering him. We told him that if he was not feeling well to just stay home and we would bring him some food home. He decided to stay home. I then got dressed and helped my mother load her van up and then we left and headed on down to the Grandparents for Christmas dinner. We got down there and took the stuff inside and then my Aunt and Uncle got there and we finally sat down to eat around 13:00 hours. As always, my grandfather's ham was great. Afterwards, we went into the living room and watched the Jeff Dunham DVD. We then ate desert and talked at the table for awhile. We then left down there around 18:00 hours and then me and my mother drove around and looked at some Christmas lights before heading on home. Once at home we unloaded the car and then I took a shower. I then made a Ham Sandwich and got on the PS2 and played the NFL Head Coach game I got for Christmas. I got off at 23:00 hours and got on the computer to check a few things. I am soon going to bed now as I am tired.

Santa on the Engine

I went to bed Saturday night around 02:00 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my suitcase out and then got my lunch and Gatorade bottles together. I then got in my car and left and headed up to Eville to work. I got there and 6-3 was already out on a call. I parked and took my stuff inside and then I clocked in. I then ate breakfast while I checked a few things online. I then went out back and started up 6-5 to make sure it would run incase we needed to use it until 6-3 got back. Pam then showed up and then I started on labeling the BLS Room so that I could get the new master list up on the wall. That took a good part of the morning to get done. While I was doing that, 6-3 got back and I got Kuntz to keep the door to the Med Room propped open so I could get into it then and start working on the new master list for in there. After I was done in the BLS Room, I went into the Med Room and started on the list in there. I took a break around 12:00 hours when me and Pam met the Lykens crew at Jo-Jo's for lunch. While we were there, the tones went off for a fall victim in Pillow Borough, for ALS only, and Northumberland 62 for BLS. Kuntz went responding and then after about 7 minutes, the tones went off again for us in place of 62. Me and Pam got up and went out to the unit and she went responding and right after we did that, we heard 62 go responding no Northumberland Med. So I turned off the lights and went around the block and parked out back and we went back inside and ate lunch. After we were done with lunch, we headed on back to the station and I went back to work in the Med Room. I finished the list by mid-afternoon and then I typed it up on the computer. I then checked a few things online while I ate dinner. Wertz then came in about a half hour early so he could get a shower. Tommy also came in as he was precepting tonight with Wertz and me. The tones then went off for a sick person in Halifax Township. Tommy jumped on with Kuntz to take the call. About 5 minutes later, the tones went off again for chest pains in Halifax Borough. Then about 10 seconds later the tones went off again for breathing problems in Wiconisco Township. I went back to the men's bunkroom and knocked on the bathroom door and asked Wertz if he was done yet. He told me to go make sure there was gear on the truck and then to put us responding, which I did while he got dressed. I ran him down to the scene and he went down with 13-2. I then ran back out to the fire house to see who all went on the tree down call that Bubba called me about earlier in the evening. I then ran back to Sheetz and waited for them to get back. 13-1 stopped to get something to drink while I was waiting for 13-2 to get back and Amanda and Alf talked to me for a little bit. They got back and I moved the gear over and then Wertz ran in to get something to eat and then we headed back to the station. Once back, I helped Wertz restock and then I checked a few things on the computer. We then wactehd Full Metal Jacket until 01:25 hours and then I went to bed. I got up at 08:06 hours and I got my stuff on my belt and put my pillow away and then talked to Steve a little bit when he came in. I left then and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then went to bed to get some more sleep. I got up this afternoon at 11:45 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a a few things. I then left the house at 15:45 hours and headed up to the fire house so we could get the Engine and the Utility ready for Santa tonight. I got there and Troy, Kenny, Katina, and LeeAnn were already there. I took my stuff inside and then Bill showed up and we exchanged gifts. We got the chair on the top tf the Engine and they got the speakers on top of the Utility and Troy set the sound system up in the Utility Robby then strong lights on the Engine and then I got changed and we left around 17:30 hours and made our rounds. We got finished around 21:20 hours and after we got fuel, we headed on back and tore everything down and I changed and then we sat around and talked for a little bit and then we all left. I ran Sue and Amanda's gift's over to their house and put them in the front of the ambulance and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now soon going to bed as I am tired.

I got out of bed and got dressed and then ran into town to do a few things. I first stopped at the "Barn" and dropped off my schedule and logged in the rest of my time for Thursday, and my time for today. I then swung by the Post Office and dropped mail in the mail box outside. I then ran up to Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription and then ran over to Giant and picked up a gallon of Diet Iced Tea and then I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played a game of College Football. I then ate dinner while I got on the computer to do a few things. Busy Day at Halifax EMS

I went to bed Thursday night at 04:00 hours and was rocked out of bed around 04:48 hours when the pager went off for bleeding in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and Scott already had 13-1 pulled out. I pulled in and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. It ended up being our frequent flyer on South Elmer Avenue. We got there and this time he was not drunk. He was vomiting up blood, and quite a lot of it. We got him loaded up and then Tindel got on the scene and we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, I drove back. We dropped Tindel off at his squad and then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then Scott gave me my door openers for the station for in my car. I then did the paperwork from the call. I then ran up to Sheetz and got gas and then headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed to get some more sleep. I was again rocked out of bed around 11:20 hours when first the fire pager went off and then the EMS pager went off for a CO Alarm in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed to the scene after I called Dohn to let him know. My father was home for the day and he got dressed and went with the fire company. He drove the Engine. I got there and Rescue 21 was there and the Engine had just pulled in. I talked to Jason Faust, who was in charge and I asked him if he needed EMS and he said no, so I got on the radio in the Engine and put EMS in service. I then stayed and helped woth putting the fan away and then I went back to the fire house to make sure the report got on the desk in the station and then I left and headed on home. Once at home my father changed clothes and then he and my mother left to head down to Harrisburg to her doctor's appointment. I then called Sue and talked to her for about 20 minutes and then she said that herself, Amanda who had come home early from work, and Brcue were going to the pizza shop for lunch and I told them I would meet them in there. So I got back in my car and headed into town. Dohn did not have the bus sitting at home so I called him and told him that I was going out to lunch and that I was going to take the bus with me incase we got a call. I got up to the pizza sjop and parked the bus. I did not know that they were already there because they came in Bruce's truck. So Sue sent me a text message asking me where I was and I said at the pizza shop. Amanda then came walking out and I saw her, so I got out and went inside. She asked me hy I brought the bus with me and as I walked in I said that I told Dohn I was going to lunch, taking the the bus and if we got a call he would have to find me. I took my jacket off and put it on the chair I was going to sit in, when my EMS pager started talking (I had it on vibrate since I had been driving my car), for a sick person in Halifax Township. I picked my jacket back up and put it back on and went out and got in the bus and headed back down to the station to meet Dohn. Bill was still there when I got back and we talked for a little bit until Dohn showed up and then wet ook it off. It was another one of our frequent flyers. We got her leg splinted and Dohn said he wanted the Fire Company for help lifting since she could not walk on it. So I went out and called county and had them dispatch Company 29 class 3 for lifting assistance. Sue then called me and said that her, Amanda and Bruce were coming out to help. They got there and we got the lady onto the stretcher and then loaded into the ambulance by the time 29 got there. I thanked Tom and told him sorry. I then got in and drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. I talked to Sue while I drove down to the hospital and she said that she was thinking about going shopping that night and having Amanda cover for her so that me and Amanda could be a crew. She said she would let me know later on what she was going to do. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. As we were coming up the south side of the mountain, I heard the tail end of a transmission over Med 9 and I heard them say Company 13. Dohn then got on the radio and asked county if we had a call and they said a fall victim in Jackson Township, class 2. We told them that we were responding from the top of the mountain. We got there and it ended up being a refusal. So I ran into Shell and got fuel and then went back to the shed. Once there, I logged my times in and then headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner while I got on the computer to do a few things. I opened up my mail and I got my state certification for Haz-Mat Awareness and I sent in my application for my Pro Board Certification. I sent text messages to the people that also took it and then Amanda sent me a message back that she was on with me for the night. So around 19:45 hours, the pager went off for a head injury in Halifax Township, at the High School. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the shed. Amanda said that she was already at the shed. When I got there, the unit had been pulled out. I pulled in and parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. Amanda was really excited about being on with me. We got there and Lee and Dave met us and Lee helped us get the stretcher out, while Amanda grabbed a c-collar and the CID's and I grabbed a backboard and threw it on the stretcher. We then went rushing on the school and into the gym. The kid was laying on the mat, and Scott was there along with the sports trainer and I believe someone from the crowd. We got him loaded onto the backboard and onto the stretcher and wheeled him off to applause from the crowd in the gym. We got him loaded into the unit and Tracey was getting in while we did this. I turned the oxygen on and then got up front as I figured we would most likely be going class 1 to Hershey. I watched them in the back and I heard Tracey tell Amanda to to put an oral airway in. She tried and the guy bit down on it. He then told her to put a nasal airway in. She put one in and had it almost all the way in when the guy woke up and started going nuts. He ripped the NRB off and tried to get up. We ended up deciding to fly him out from the ball field in Dauphin. So Dohn and Scott got out and off we went towards the ball field in Dauphin, We trasferred the guy over to Life Lion and then I helped clean up the back of the unit and then we left and headed on back. We dropped Tracey off at his squad at the high school and then we headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and the got the times for Amanda. I stayed and helped her with the paperwork, when the tones went off for seizures in Halifax Township. We got back in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and got the kid loaded up and then met MICU 6-3 and then I drove down to Hershey. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We dropped Flipper off at Sheetz and then headed back to the shed. Once there Amanda helped me change the "M" tank on 13-1 and then I logged my time in and got the times for her and then I helped her with both tripsheets. We both left at 00:01 hours and headed on home. Once at home I talked to my mother for a little bit and went to bed around 02:00 hours. I got up this afternoon around 14:00 hours and I read the paper. I then wrapped 3 more gifts and then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I am getting ready to take a shower and then am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Glorified Oven Fire

I got to work last night and clocked in. 6-7 was out on a call and the second due truck was at the shop so there wasn't another unit at the station. So I decided to walk my 20 laps around the station and then I got on the computer to check my email and a few other things. 6-7 then came back and I did my rig check on it and then sat down to watch some TV while Ron was on his laptop. I went to bed around 01:00 hours and woke up around 06:00 hours when the tones went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township at our frequent flyer. I fell back alseep after I heard 6-3 go available with a refusal and did not wake up until 07:50 hours when Jim came in the station. Kathy then came in and I clocked out and we shot the shit for a little bit. I left there around 08:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then went back to bed to get some more sleep. I was rocked out of bed at 11:38 hours when the fire pager went off for an oven fire in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and grabbed my wallet, pager and my keys and got in my car and headed up to the station. I got there and parked and went inside and Bubba was not there yet. I turned the lights on and then kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on. Bubba then came in the front door and asked me what was due and I told him only the Engine. So then I grabbed my jacket and helmet and went over to the officers side of the Engine. I opened the door and then sat my helmet and jacket on the hood of the Utility. Bubba had already started the Engine and went back to get his gear on. I took my glasses off and my hearing aid out and put them in the case I carry and threw them on the dash of the Engine up front. I then put my hood on and then my jacket. I turned around to get in and Bubba was walking around behind the Utility looking for his helmet. I helped him look and found it in the driver's side compartment of the Tanker. I got it and handed it to him and then went over to get in the officers seat of the Engine when I saw Dave come in the station. So I got out and went to the back door and opened that up and I heard the driver's door close. I then saw Bubba walk arounf the front of the Engine and when I looked in I saw Jason sitting in the driver's seat. I got in and I heard Dave yell to me to slide over, so I slid over to the left jump seat and unbelted the air pack as we pulled out. I got my pack on and then got my mask on and was all dressed by the time we pulled in on Third Street. We all got out and me and Dave went over to Engine 29-1. Tom told us to go interior and then Dave had me grab a hook off of 29's Engine and then we went interior. When we walked in there was no fire in the kitchen, even thought PD had called a working fire and the full first alarm had been dispatched at this point. The hose line was leading away from the kitchen and upstairs. So me and Dave started up when I heard the hose crew yell for more hose, and Dave turned to me and told me to hump more hose for them. I handed him the hook and started humping hose and then Bubba walked in as I finished humping hose for them. We then went upstairs after I opened the front door. We were upstairs for a little bit and then we came back downstairs. We were downstairs for a little bit and then Bubba told me to go grab and axe. I went to the front door and was met by Tracey who came down with 6-3. I went over to Engine 29-1 and told Sam I needed a flat head axe. Bubba then came over and told her he needed a set of iron's. We got a set and went back inside. Tom then had Tracey put a vent fan outside of the side door for us to use then. Bruce then came out with the nozzle and the line and I was at the door and started pulling hose out the door until I saw the end of it and then I grabbed it and pulled the rest of it out of the house. We then found the breaker box in the rear bathroom on the first floor instead of in the basement and we turned the power off to the kitchen. We then vented and then started putting the equipment away. We then took our packs off and then went available after we talked to Tom. We stopped at Shell and Dave bought everyone's drinks and then we went to Station 29 to get our 3 cylinders filled. We then went back to the station and cleaned up the masks and put them away. Then myself, Bubba, Robby, Troy and Andy sat around and shot the shit. We all left around 14:40 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then left the house around 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. I left before half time and changed into my santa outfit and then handed out navels to the bingo players during half time. I then went back down to the station and changed back and came back up and called the second half of bingo. Myself, Bubba an LeeAnn then went down to the fire house and shot the shit while Bubba put in the reports. We then left around 23:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

CO Alarm Incident

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and I was rocked out of bed this morning around 10:30 hours when the pager went off for a CO Alarm in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and Kim was already there and had 13-1 sitting outside. I pulled in and parked and then got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and 29 was already there. Tom was the Chief on the scene. It ended up not being anything and we got refusal's on all three patient's. We then went back to the shed and I logged my time in and then left and headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and then ran down to Charlie real quick to have him sign to papers for me. I then heaed back home. Once at home I read the paper and watched All My Children on TV. I then wrapped all my christmas gifts and then got on the computer to do a few things. I am now eating dinner and then I have to work a 12 hour shift at Lykens tonight.

Slow Day at Medic 6

I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade bottles together. I then left the house around 07:34 hours and headed on up to Eville to go to work. I got there and parked and went inside and clocked in. Tracey was already there and Tindel was up. Matt was still asleep on the one couch. I did my rig check and then started going over supplies. Steve then came in and I talked to him about supplies. While I was talking to him, the tones went off for an ALS call in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. Tracey took that call. Me and Steve then went out to the med room to go over a few things. While I was out there with him, the tones went off again for a sick person in Gratz Borough. Me and Yeager took that call. We got up there and this lady had puss leaking from a year old surgical site. She really did not want to go down to the hospital, but the lady she talked to down at Hershey where she had the operation done wanted her to come in today. She thought the lady wanted her to come in to the orthopedic center. So me and Yeager told her that we can only transport to the ER. We tried to arrange a wheel chair transport van with her. While we were dicking around on the scene, the tones went off again for breathing problems in Washington Township. MICU 6-5 which was John and Tim took that call. The lady finally decided to call back down and talk to the lady again to see about coming in on Wednesday. We asked to talk to the lady and when Yeager talked to her, we found out that she was supposed to go through the ER. So we ended up taking her down to Hershey. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We stopped at Shell in Halifax and got fuel and then stopped at Koppy's so Yeager could get something to eat for lunch. We then went back to the station. Once back at the station I ate lunch while I did my chart from the call. Steve was doing the pay roll so we did not get to ordering the supplies today. I did talk to him about Jim and last Tuesday's incident and I also asked to be put on the roation to have Tim as my perminet partner. I then went through the BLS room and made up a list and then typed it up on the computer. Tracey left around 18:30 hours as he got a call from his wife that she had a staph infection and needed to go down to the hospital. While I was typing up the list, around 17:56 hours, my fire pager went off for a call in Halifax Borough for smoke from an oven. The Engine got cancelled before they were able to respond. Then around 18:46 my fire pager went off again for another call in Halifax Borough for a furnace fire. This time the Engine got out and got in to the scene. I clocked out around 20:30 hours and headed on home. I decided to swing by the station to see if anyone was still there. I pulled in and parked and Jason Faust's truck was still there along with Jason's. I parked and got out and Troy came out of the station and went over to his truck and pulled it in front of the station to load his gear up. I talked to Jason and Jason for a little bit more and then I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Windy Day and Busy Night

I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon around 14:52 hours when my cell phone rang. It was Missy and I talked to her about the issue with Medic 6. After I was done talking with her I got out of bed and went over to my computer to change my away message on AIM and I noticed that it had disconnected, saying that it had lost connection. So I hit the button to sign in again and it could not. So I tired to open the internet and it came up blank. So I took a look at my modeum and noticed that the internet light was out, which meant that our internet was down. I told my father that the internet was down right now. I then read the paper. I then got on the PS2 to play Grand Theft Auto, Liberty City Stories. I then made and ate dinner while I played on the computer. I had the fire pager with me and around 19:30 hours I heard Williamstown get dispatched to a pole fire, nothing big. About 2 minutes later I heard their tones again, and then I heard more tones, and it was now dispatched as a garage fire. They ended up having a Working Garage Fire. It has been crazy since then. 24 had a second fire at the scene of the first one as they dispatched Truck 22 and Engine 66 back to the scene to assist, and then they dispatched Tanker 21 to the scene to assist. Then Millersburg had an accident with entrapment in Upper Paxton Township. It ended up being negative entrapment, but they still flew the patient out on Life Lion. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

A Worker in Eville Borough

I went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 03:36 hours when the fire pager went off for the Tanker to assist Company 21 on a working structure fire. I sat up in bed and looked at the clock and knew I was probablly not going to get back in time to be up in Lykens by 06:00 hours. I looked over into my parents room and saw my father getting dressed. He stuck his head in my room and asked me if I was going to go and catch the Tanker or not and I told him I had to be at Lykens by 06:00 hours for Shultz so he could leave early for his paramedic test. So he oleft and headed up to the fire house and made the Tanker with Dave driving. I went back to bed, but could not get back to sleep as I laid in bed and listened to the pager and what was going on. LeeAnn then started texting me and I found out that they had a crew at the station for the Engine incase it was needed. I told her that I would not be up as I had to be in at work early this morning. I eventually got back to bed and woke up at 05:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and got my lunch and Gatorade bottles together. I then said goodbye to my mother and then got in my car and stated heading towards Lykens to go to work. I got to the square in Eville and I saw that Jean was helping to direct traffic around the scene and I talked to her for about a minute before I contiuned on my way up to Lykens. I got there and parked and went inside and put my lunch and Gatorade in the fridge and then clocked in. Shutlz and Tindel were sleeping on the couchs, so I got on the computer to check centralpafire to see if anyone had anything up on the fire, which they did. Shutlz then got up and clocked out and said he was going to hang around until the truck got back from the call. He then got on the fire company computer and was checking a few things and then he went back over to the couch and laid back down. Shutlz then got back up around 07:30 hours and I went out and did a rig check on 6-7. When I came back in, Tindel was up and Steppler was there. Shultz had already left and walked on home. Tindel, Steppler and myself talked for a little bit and then Tindell left. I then ate my breakfast and Steppler did his gear check, and then we left and headed on down to the Eville station. We were there long enough for Steppler to give Jim the sup. phone and to grab a second set of ALS gear to take up to Lykens since there was only one set up there, and then we left. We stopped at McDonald's and both got something to eat for breakfast and then headed back up to the Lykens Station. Once back there, Steppler started working on his charts and I laid down on the couch to get a little more sleep. I woke up around 11:00 hours I believe it was and Steppler had turned the TV on to watch while he was still working on his charts. I then ate lunch around 13:00 hours. Then around I guess it was 13:45 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Washington Township. Me and Steppler pulled the map out to see if it was our call or the Eville crews call. Jim ended up calling up and asking if we were going to take the call and I told him we were trying to figure out who's call it was and he said that it was ours. I asked him if he was sure and then he got pissy with me and told me to just take the call and then hung up on me. So I went out and put us responding and then we looked up the street in the map book and then off we went. We got there and did and assessment of the guy and then got him loaded into the back of 6-7 and then Steppler put him on the monitor to take a look at his heart and he decided to ride it in ALS due to his history. So off we went to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. While on the way back, the tones went off for the lady on Deitrich Road and I started laughing my ass off because Jim had to go to her. Naturally he got a refusal on her because he kicked it off to BLS as they cancelled him before he got to the scene. We stopped at Sheetz and both got something to eat for dinner and then headed on back up to the Lykens Station. I stopped at the Shell in Lykens and got fuel and then went back to the station. Once back there, I ate dinner and once Steppler was done eating dinner, he got back to work on his charts. He had 7 charts to do, and he had 4 from the last time he worked and that was when he got knocked out on 20's bus. Steppler asked Tim to come in an hour early so that he could get his charts done tonight because Steppler wanted to be out of the area before the bad weather moved in. Deppen then came in and gave me my popcorn and then the 4 of us talked for awhile. I clocked out at 20:09 hours and we talked some more and I finally left Lykens around 20:15 hours and headed on down to the Eville station. Once there I picked up my check and fruit money, filled out my time sheet and printed out a copy of the times from the structure fire earlier in the day and then I left and headed on home. Once at home I got things inside and then took a shower. I was out talking to my mother and telling her how my day had gone, when I heard the EMS pager go off for an accident witn injures in South River Road. I called Scott and told him that I was around if we needed the second unit and he told me to call Kathy, which I did and I told her I would head in awhile. So I got dressed and then went outside and it was sleeting out. I got in my car and started it up and then quickly cleaned off the windshield and then left and headed into the "Barn". I slid through all 3 stop signs in my devlopment, and I was only going 10 MPH. I told Scott that I was on my way in and that I would grab the second unit since Dohn had already past the shed and was heading to the scene in his POV. So I got to the station and parked and went inside and got in 13-2 and went responding. I got out there and it happened right in front of Station 29, so 37 who was covering for 29 since tonight was there Christmas party, did not have to go far to get to the scene. I got there and parked behind 13-1. I got out and I saw Sue standing behind the one PSP car talking to Kevin Cole from our Essentials class. I went over and talked to her and she told me that I guess me and Dohn were taking the guy in the back of the cruiser. I asked her how the party went and she said good. I asked her if Amanda was still out there and she said no, that everyone started leaving when they saw the roads were starting to get bad. Well we ended up putting the two guys from the car that got rear-ended in 13-1 and Scott, Carol and Dohn took them down to Harrisburg Hospital, and I went available and back to the shed, parked the bus, logged my time in and then left and headed on home. Once at home I got back on the computer and am soon going to go to bed as I am tired.

A Call with Sue

I went to bed last night around 02:50 hours and was rocked out of bed around 04:10 hours when the pager went off for a CVA in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there just as Sue was pulling in. We got out of our cars and our pagers went off again, but this time it was for an overdose in Halifax Township. It was our frequent flyer that we usually have. MICU 6-3 told county that they would handle the SLV call and we went responding to the overdose call. We got there and went inside and I did not let him push me around and was very adament and stern and told him how things were going to be. He was actually very nice this time and did not give us any problems. MICU 6-5 got there just as we were loading him into the back of the ambulance and we left and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. I also drove to the scene. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We stopped at the Uni-Mart on Front Street so Sue could get a soda and then we continued on back. We dropped Bowser off at Sheetz and then headed back to the shed. We got there and I parked the unit and then I filled in my time and restocked the unit and me and Sue talked for a little bit and then we both left and headed on home. Once at home I took some of the cough syrup with condine and then went back to bed. I was rocked out of bed arounf 13:40 hours when the pager went off for a fall victim in Halifax Borough. Sue called me and told me that herself and Bruce were on their way to Pizza Delight and were going to stop and stablize until we got there. I finished getting dressed and then got in my car and headed back into the shed. I got there and parked and then got in 13-1 and off we went. We got there and Sue was standing outside and Bruce and Kim were inside. Sue grabbed a backbaord and the CID's as soon as we stopped. We got the lady loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed we headed on back. Once back I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got things ready for the county booster meeting tonight. Around 17:45 hours I loaded my car up and then headed into town. I dropped a letter in the mail box at the post office and then I continued on down to West Hanover Township Station 1. The meeting went great and Eric did a great job with his presntation. After the meeting was over I headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and picked up a gallon of Diet Iced Tea. Matt Schultz also called me and asked me to come in early Saturday for him, which I said was not a problem. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired and am getting up early.

A Mess Outside

I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 13:00 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and then read the paper. About 15 minutes after I got up, the pager went off for an accident with injuries, vehicle into a structure in Halifax Township. I thought about going, but when I looked outside, our street did not have any cinders on it, so I knew getting out of my devlopment was going to be tough. After I read the paper, I got on the computer to do a few things. I ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 19:30 hours and headed into town to get my hair highlighted and then cut. I stopped at the fire house on my way in and dropped off a copy of my certificate that I got today in the mail for completeing the Interior Modual of Essentials. After I was done in there, I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz,

Christmas Shopping

I went to bed last night at 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 09:10 hours when my mother called me to make sure I was up. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper and then grabbed some Christmas money and then got in my car and headed on down to Harrisburg. I first stopped at the doctor's officer and picked up my perscription and then I went to the Colonial Park Mall. I walked around and went in Spencer's and looked around and then I went to VS and got two gift certificate's. I then left there and went to Best Buy and picked up another gift. I then ran over to Pizze Hut and got a personnel pan pizza and an order ofd bread sticks to go and then I headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and a soda to drink with my pizza. I then stopped at Rite Aid and picked up another gift and dropped my perscription off. I found out that it is to early to get it filled so I left and headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch while I played on the PS2 for a little bit. I then left the house around 16:25 hours and headed up to the fire house. Robin asked me if I would type a paper up for her to be handed out at bingo tonight. I got there and typed it up and then we had bingom, which went pretty good. After it was over, a few of us talked for a little bit and then I headed on home. Once at home, I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Trip to the Doctor's

I got up this morning at 09:00 hours when my mother woke me up and told me I had a doctor's appointment at 09:40 hours this morning. I got out of bed and got dressed and then I had her drive me in since my hearing was not the greatest. We got there and got in and Dr. Little took a look at me and told me I have fluid in my left ear and an infection in my right ear. He gave me amoxicillin to take for my right ear. He also told me to get Mucinex to take to help get rid of the mucus that I have in my nose. He also told me to continue taking the nasal decongestion medication that I have been taking. So we left there and stopepd at Rite Aid and I got the Mucinex and then we ran over to Giant and I picked up two things of the cheese I spread on crackers. It has been months since I have had it. We then stopped at Dollar General so my mother could look for something and then we headed on home. Once at home, she dropped me off and then headed up to the vets in Eville to pick up some medication for April and go to Wal-Mart. I ate lunch and then read the paper. While I was reading the paper, Amanda sent me a text that her and Sue went to the doctor's today also, and that she has strep throat. I then got on the computer and added pictures to the website from the disk that Bill gave me. I then did my Christmas Cards so that I can send them out tomorrow when I go down to Harrisburg to do some Christmas shopping before bingo. I just finished eating dinner and am watching MASH on TV. I am going to take a shower then and then am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Feeling Kind of Blah

I went to bed last night around 12:30 hours as I was exremly tired. I woke up this morning around 06:30 hours when I felt like I had to vomit. I got up and went over to the bathroom and I vomited up a lot of phlegm and what looked like snot as I have had a stuffy nose for at least 2 weeks now and it drains a lot at night. I decided to crash in bed for the day, which I did. The only times I got up were when my mother would wake me so I could take some more cough syrup and a nasal decongestion pill and then I would go back to sleep. I was rocked out of bed this afternoon around 16:40 hours when the fire pager went off for a medical assist on Armstrong Valley Road. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed up to the fire house. I got there and Andy's truck was there. I parked and went inside and got my gear on and got in the Engine. Kenny and Jason were already in the Engine and Bubba walked in the station as I was walking over to the Engine. We went responding and my father was out on Armstrong Valley Road, blocking traffic so that we could make a clean run on to 225. We got to the scene and helped load the patient in to the ambulance and then we went available. We got back to the station and Troy came back from the scene and himself, Andy, myself, Bubba and Kenny all shot the shit. I then left and headed on home to get something to eat for dinner before the meeting tonight. I left the house at 18:20 hours and headed up to the station. The meeting went good and then myself, Bubba, Troy and Katina all went down to the station and shot the shit. We all left around 22:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and while I was on the computer, my left ear decided to go shut on me now. So later on today, I have to call and get a doctor's appointment to see what the hell is going on. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Beautiful Woman and a Firefighter in a Skirt

I went to bed Friday night around 03:00 hours and got up Saturday afternoon around 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I then ran the projector up to the fire hall so Troy and Bubba could set it up how they wanted it for the party. LeeAnn was up in the hall with Bubba when I dropped the projector off. The three of us then talked for a little bit and then we all left. I ran down to the fire house and grabbed the key to the fruit trailer and I grabbed the two half cases I need for next Friday and Amanda extea case of fruit and then I heaed on home. Once at home I brought all of the fruit in and then I got on the computer to do a few things before the party Saturday night. Amanda then sent me a text around 16:30 hours that she would meet me at the hall. I asked her if she was sure she did not want me to pipck her up and she said that it was fine and that she would meet me out here. So I got dressed around 16:20 hours and left around 16:30 hours after I put Amanda's case of fruit in my car, and headed up to the fire hall. I got there and parked at the same time that Eric did. I asked him if he wanted me to put Chuck's case of fruit in his truck and he told me to put it in the bed of his truck, which I did and then I went inside. I hung my jacket up on the hanger and went down to talk to Bubba and Eric. Troy, Helen, LeeAnn, and Kenny were also there along with William's Catering and they were just about done setting up stuff and were starting on brining the food in to set that up. People slowly started to show up and then Amanda who was my guest for the night walked in. All I can say is "WOW!!". She looked beautiful as always. She was wearing a white tutrle neck sweater, a multi-colored skirt and black knee high boots. Alf and Kim showed up and they sat at the same table as us and the four of us talked until 18:10 hours when it was time to eat. The food was great as well as desert. Once everyone was done eating, theu cater's packed up and left and we moved on to the awards. I got second place for Top Responder with 39 calls and third place for Top Trainning Attendance. I also got a gag gift of a santa hat with a chin strap for Chirstmas Eve of last year. We then moved on to the video which Troy did a great job on. Amanda then left around 21:10 hours to head on home. I walked her out to her car and thanked her for coming and told her I would see her today for the live burn. My father then left shortly after she did and headed on home. Once I knew he was gone, I had two Coors Lights and then followed them up with 5 bottles of water. Things got very interesting once the music started playing. Overall everyone had a good time last night, even though the ones taking Essentials could not really drink as much as we wanted to. I left around 01:30 hours after I helped sweep and put some of the tables back and I headed on home. Around 01:00 hours while I was up there, I felt my right ear go closed, almost like it was clogged with ear wax again, which I found it was not. Once I got home after I got everything in, I took a shower and then had my mother put some peroxide in my ear to see if that would clear it up, which I did not. I went to bed around 03:00 hours and after I laid in bed for a little bit, I got rinning in my rigth ear. I got up at 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got up and got changed into my clothes. I then got my Gatorade and sanwich's together and took them out to the car. I then put Amanda's case of fruit back in the car again. I then grabbed a second long sleeved shirt and my flash light and jacket and then got in the car and headed up to the station. I got up there and parked and took the stuff inside and put it on the front seat of the Utility. While I was doing that, Helen was picking up her gear and putting it in the back of her car. I then took the case of fruit inside to keep it warm while we were down at class. I then got my gear in the Utility and pulled the Engine out, then pulled the Utility out and then backed the Engine in. I then got in the Utility and headed on down to HACC. I got down there and when Tom showed up I told him that we only had 4 packs as that was all that Bubba wanted us to bring. That did nto sit well with Tom as each person was required to have a pack, especailly with the head fire guy from HACC being present on the training grounds today. SO we quickly got ahold of Troy and had him turn around and run back to the station and grab the pack off the driver's side of the Tanker and a spare cylinder and bring it along down. Once hew got there I had my pack and Tom went over what we were going to do during the day. We first did dry runs with a charged hose line, but no fire. Once everyone was through, it was time to mask up while they got the fires going. Me and Special K were on RIT first and we stood by as Team 1 was the attack team. When they came out it was now our turn as the attack team. Special K was on the nozzle and I was backing him up. The instructor went in first and then sent Special K in. He went to the top of the steps and I fed him in hose so that he could get enough hose to make a loop at the top so we could reach the fire room and then I came up to back him up. We went in the fire room and he took a quick shot at the fire on the ceiling and then hit the fire again. I then went around him and made it over to the window and opened it up so we could vent the room. Once I got them open, I came back and Special K veneted the room. We then backed out so that the fire could be restooked and then we went back in, this time with myself on the nozzle. I got a good knock on the fire and Special K opened the window and I vented the room with the hoseline. We then back the line out of the room and back outside. We then went on break and got our cylinders refilled and then when our break was up, we were the search team. When we came out, I saw Sue and Bob standing over at the pavillion as they had come down to watch the live burn and get some pictures also. We went through, we searched the second floor and then moved on to the third floor and searched above the fire room, and then we moved down to the first floor and searched there. Once we were done, we went back outside and over to the pravillion and took our packs off and got them filled again. The group then had a small talk and then we had about 10 to 20 minutes to eat some lunch to get some food and drinks into us and then they started wokring on the basement fire. We were RIT once again for the fires evoulution. We then were the attack team next and this time I was on the nozzle to start. I went in and went down the steps ass first, that was the heat, smoke and other junk would vent out above me and keep me from getting it in my face. Once I got to the bottom of the steps, Special K fed hose down to me and I pushed it up in the hallway and then he came down to back me up. We then went into the basement and the fire was off to our left, in another room that was creadted by putting barrel's in the doorway. We then went around a wall and we then attacked the fire. We then went over to the bilco doors to vent, and the doors were to be opened by the RIT team outside, which they were not. The one burn tech got them open quickly for us as I said I was starting to get hot and then I quickly vented the room and then we backed out into the hall and switched places and this time Special K was on the nozzle. We went in and attacked the fire and then turned around so Special K could vent. Our instrutor bailed on us as his head was getting to ho and another instructor took over in his place. He told Special K to turn around and hit the fire again and Special K shut the line down and turned around and hit the fire with a semi-fog pattern. I smacked the back of his pack twice until he heard me telling him to put it on a straight stream. The instructor also heard me the second time I said it as he also told Speical K about the straight stream. We then backed the line out and back up the steps with it. We then went on break and had my cylinder refilled and then we were back on the search time. While I was getting my cylinder refilled, I noticed the accountability tag on my jacket was partially melted and warped looking, which I though was cool. This time we were not was rushed so we could take our time. Boy I tell you what, when I got on my knees to crawl, the pain shot down my leg as my knees were killing me. We finished the search and then Tom said that they were going to do a big fire in the basement for anyone that wanted to go down through the bilco doors and attack the fire. Well I guess Amanda and Kevin Cole wanted to do it. So Joe Werner, from Eville who came down to take pictures, but also ended up helped to fill cylinders and then went in to help burn tech, and Troy helped build the fire since Amanda wanted it hot. When she came back over to the pavillion, I went "Holy Shit Girl". She had melted her shield to the top of her helmet, which we all thought was cool, especailly her. We went back over to the pavillion and we had our final talk and we filled out the eval form. We then cleaned everything up, got our group picture and then dressed down. I put my gear in the Utility along with my stuff and then helped get the packs back on the Utility. I then talked to Tom for a little bit and then left. I stopped at Pizza Hut and gota family order of bread sticks to go and then headed on up. I stopped at Station 29 and Lonny also stopped and helped me get the packs off of the Utility and we took them inside and they refilled them for us and then me and Lonny put them back on and then I headed on out to the station. Once back at the station, I pulled the Engine out and backed the Utility and then Lonny backed the Engine in as he got there was I was getting in the Utility. Once we had everything back in, I took my stuff out of my vehicle and then the 4 of us started by cleaning the masks. Troy then showed up and he cleaned his mask. Bubba then came down and he got out a cleaned so we could wash down the air packs, which we did. I then cleaned my helmet off and then I cleaned my flashlight off. Helen and LeeAnn then decided to hose their gear down and I did also and hung it up to dry. I then took my breadsticks and flashlight and put them in my car and then loaded the case of fruit up and put it in my car and headed to Amanda's house to drop it off. I got there and parked and took it inside and Sue and Amanda got talking to me. I decided to stay for a little bit and talk. Amanda then told me I was going to have a piece of peanut butter pie, which I did not mind having cause it is very good, but it is also very rich in taste. We talked for a good 20 minutes and then Amanda said she was going to rest and I said I was going to head on home and then I left and headed on home. Once at home my parents wanted to hear how things went so I told them and then I took a shower and then ate my breadsticks. I then got on the computer to check my email real quick and I am soon going to bed as I am really tired.

Santa and Alcohol

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this morning around 10:00 hours when Sue sent me a text and then she called me and we talked for about 30 minutes. I then went back to bed to get some more sleep and woke up this afternoon around 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things before I had to leave to head up to the fire house for Pictures with Santa. I then left around 16:05 hours and headed over to Bill's house to pick up his camera for tonight and also my check from 13 and the check he owed me for his fruit. I then headed back to the fire station. I got there and parked and took the suit and boots into the fire house and then grabbed the key to the fruit trailer. I went over and moved Chuck's case to the back so I could give it to Eric tomorrow night at the Chirstmas Party. I also noticed that Lonny had put the extra case of fruit that Amanda wanted aside for me, so I moved that to the back also so I could take it to her tomorrow when I go to pick her up. I then put the key back in the station and went up to the hall. Katina was there working on some food to sit out for the kids. Jean then showed up and then Bob, Kenny, and everyone else. Bill then showed up as he said that they had cancelled mass at his church. I then went down to the fire house and got changed and headed up to the hall. It was not crowded and we did not have the crowd we were hoping for. I then took a break at 19:00 hours and went down to the station. I then came back up at 19:30 hours for the company children's christmas party. I came back in and we handed out gifts and then some more pictures and then I headed back down to the station to change. While I was changing I had a Coors Light from out of the fridge. After I was done changing, I put the suit and boots in my car and then headed back up to the hall. Most of the kids were gone and they were starting to move the tables around for tomorrow night. I then went into the kitchen and myself, Jess, Troy, LeeAnn, Jason, Katnia and Helen decided to play cards. All of us except for Helen played thumb masters. I don't know how many Coors Lights I had. I left there around 23:10 hours and headed on home. Katnia followed me home in her car to make sure I got home ok. Jess, Troy, Mandy, and LeeAnn left in Troy's truck and headed into The Nook. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Quiet Shift

I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then went outside and started my car to warm it up. I then packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottle together. I then put them in my car and then loaded the fruit in my car. I left the house around 07:35 hours and headed on up to Eville to work. I got up there and parked and took my stuff inside and then brought the fruit in. I then clocked in. Matt was sleeping on the couch and I let him sleep as I did not know if he had been out all night or not. I saw that the squad was gone. I did my rig check and then got on the computer to fill out a few things and to see where Wertz was at. He was down with Millersburg and they transported to Holy Spirit Hospital. Steve then came in and we got talking. I then did a quick inventor of the BLS room. While I was doing that, the tones went off for a fall victim in Williamstown Borough that he Lykens MICU handled. I then got Steve's badge and got in the ALS Room and started doing an inventory of it. Wertz then went available and got back and the three of us got talking in the med room. I was almost finished with the inventory when Williamstown dropped Tracey off at the station and John came in and picked up his and Kathy's fruit. Wendy told me to leave her fruit in Steve's office since she was not coming in today. I then finished my inventory and then I ate lunch. Me and Matt then ran up to Subway so he could get something to eat for himself and for Wertz also. I got a small pizza for later on and then we stopped at Koppy's so Matt could get Wertz a soda and I got one also. We then went back to the station. Once back at the station, I type up the inventory list from the ALS Room. I then went in Steve's office and we went over what we needed to order and he put in a partial order before he left to head on home. Once he left I ate dinner and watched a little TV. Dwayne then stopped and picked up his fruit and left. Tim came in one hour early for Wertz so that Wertz could leave to get home to one of his son's wrestling match's at the school. I then clocked out at 20:02 hours and left and headd up to Wal-Mart to pick up some ink for my printer and two bottles of Gatorade for Sunday. I then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then got on the computer. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk, just give me a buzz.

2 Calls in One Day

I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then went up to the fire house and grabbed the key for the fruit trailer. I then went in the fruit trailer and grabbed a few cases of fruit that I was going to delivery today. The first delivery I had to do was up in Lykens. As I was leaving Lykens after having delivered the cases of fruit, Scott called my cell and asked me if I was available to go on a call with Sue. I told him no, that I was out delivering fruit, and was just leaving Lykens. Sue then sent me a text that said "Love u 2". I called her and told her I was sorry that I could not take the call. I then got back to the station and went back to the fruit trailer to get two more cases I had to delivery and Bubba was there. I helped him load up his fruit and then I loaded mine into my car. He then left and I left after putting the key back. I then left and headed to Wil and Jody's house. I was coming up on their driveway, when the fire pager went off for an accident with injuries on Mountain House Road. I turned around in their driveway and headed back to the station. I got there and parked and ran my fruit inside so that it would not freeze sitting in my car. Adam was running up the alley when I got there and we both went inside and started getting out gear on. As I went by him, I told him to open the bay door for the Engine awhile. I then went over and threw my gear in the officers seat and then went around to the driver's side door and unplugged the Engine and then started it awhile. Bubba then showed up and got in and we went responding. We heard Dave go on the scene. We got as far as Heim's when Jason Faust put the box in service as there were no injuries and we were not needed. So we turned around and went back to the station. Once there I filled out the run sheet and then took my gear off and loaded my fruit back up. Lonny then showed up and we talked to him for a little bit. He had stopped at the scene. He told us that a car had gone through the corner of a small shed and hit a chimney on a house. I then headed to Wil and Jody's and delivered their fruit and then got talking to both of them. I then ran into the "Barn" to meet Viv and give her fruit. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I left the house around 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and when I saw no cars, I figured that bingo was cancelled. Katina's car was the only one there. So I went inside and sat down and we started talking. Bubba then came in to go to the bathroom before he left to deliver more fruit. Jess then came in next and then Helen and then LeeAnn showed up. We were all sitting there shooting the shit and I had my pager open listening to what was going on in the county. I heard a pre-alert and stopped and heard county say Box 216-1. I was up and running for the back door of the hall. By the time I reached the station door, I heard the house siren breaker in the station trip on and started going off. I went inside and started getting my pants on when Helen came sliding in the front door of the station. As I grabbed my jacket and helmet, I heard LeeAnn come in the back door and Troy came in the front door. I went over and got in the officer's seat and heard LeeAnn get in the back and then I heard Lonny started the Engine up. Once he got in I put us responding with 5 and advised county that we had 2 EMT's on board. We got down to the scene and Bubba pulled in right behind us. While we had been enroute to the scene, I had LeeAnn hand me a pair of gloves and I got the AED ready and had Helen get the med bag out and get the BVM ready. We got there and the ambulance was already there, as were my father and Kim and Alf. When I got off the Engine and started walking towards the house, Dohn and Carol came out and went to the unit. Helen stopped at the unit to help and I continued inside. When I got inside my father was bagging and Kim was doing CPR. Alf asked me to relieve him as he had to go outside as the lady had vomited in his mouth. We worked on the lady for at least 30 minutes and we finally got pulse's back and got a blood pressure on the lady. We helped load him into the ambulance and then they left and we headed back to the station. Once there I got out of my gear and we went back up to the hall. I filled out the run sheet and then we shot the shit. We then went down to the station and I helped Bubba with the one thing for the party this Saturday. We all then left and I ran over to the fruit trailer and picked up the three cases I need to take up to Medic 6 tomorrow and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

One More Class To Go

I went to bed last night arond 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed around 05:10 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Borough at Boyer Apartments. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and parked and went inside and got in 13-1. Dohn then came in and got in and off we went. We got there and Tim was our medic and he showed up in the squad. We got the lady loaded and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at McDonald's on Front Street so Tim could get his coffee and something to eat for breakfast. I decided to also grab something to eat for breakfast. We then headed on back. We dropped the medic off at his squad and then went back to the shed, Once there I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up around 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then went up in the attack and brought some Christams decorations down for my mother. I then got on the computer to do a few things and then ate dinner. I left the house around 17:10 hours and headed up to the fire house to pick up the Utility for class tonight. I put my gear in the Utility and then moved the Engine out, moved the Utility out and then backed the Engine back in and got in the Utility and left. I stopped at Shell and got a bottle of Gatorade and then continued on down to HACC. Class went good tonight. It was a little cold out and at times it got windy, but otherwise it was pretty good. We did vehicle fires first and then we did gas fires. We got out of there early tonight, I left around 20:55 hours. I stopped at Station 29 so Tom could fill the two cylinders that we used tonight. I then stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed back to the station. Lonny was there when I got back and he pulled the Engine out for me and then I backed the Utility in and he backed the Engine in. I put my gear away and then he helped me clean the masks up and we put them away and then I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Haz-Mat Refresher

Went to bed last night around 02:40 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:10 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I went off duty at 14:00 hours this afternoon. We had no calls while I was on duty from 04:00 hours until 14:00 hours. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things on the computer. I left the house at 17:56 hours and headed into Station 29 for the Haz-Mat Awareness Refresher Course tonight. I got there and parked and went inside. Class was good, it was also packed. After the refresher class was over, we took the PA Pro Board Certification test. I think the test sucked and was really hard, even for me. It is a waiting game now as the test are going back to HACC to be graded and then our scores will be sent to us. After class was over, I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and got two loafs of bread and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Little Bit of Snow

Went to bed last night around 03:30 hours after I watched the Hawaii, Washington College Football game. Hawaii came from behind to win the game to become the only undefeated college football team in the nation. I got up this afternoon at 14:00 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played a game of college football. I then got off and am now eating dinner while I am watching TV and on the computer to do a few things. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Fruit, Fruit, and Beer

I went to bed Thursday night around 02:30 hours and got up Friday morning around 09:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and ate breakfast and read the paper. I then changed into street clothes and left the house around 10:40 hours and headed on up to the fire house to help sort fruit. When I got there the trailer was already there and they had just started unloading the fruit. I parked and then got in the trailer that we got to hold the fruit. Bubba, and Lonny were already there. Dave then got in shortly after I got there and he was followed by Jason Faust. Once we got all the pallets moved over to our trailer, we helped the fruit guy back out by stopping traffic on Enders Road. We then went back and got back in the trailer and started going through the fruit to check for any bad ones. Jean then showed up and got in to help. Bill then showed up to take a few pictutes. Troy then got there, followed by Lyle and then Andy. Once we were done going through the fruit, we started getting people's orders together and setting them aside. We were done with the fruit by 15:20 hours in the afternoon, which I thought was pretty good. Jean then had her husband come down and get their fruit. Jason Faust then got his fruit and took it home. I then got the fruit for Tab's and got it loaded into my car. I then got mom's two cases and then I headed back to the house. Once at home, I dropped off my mother's two cases and then picked up the tickets for the hair dresser's and then headed into town. Once at her place, she paid me and then I took all of the cases inside. I then headed back to the fire house. Lonny had run into McDonald's to get food for us and he was back by the time I got back. I went in the station and ate dinner and we shot the shit. I left the station around 18:20 hours and headed on home to get a shower and get cleaned up before going over to Shade Mountain. After I got my shower, I got changed and then headed up to the fire house. Once there I went inside the station and grabbed a Coors Light out of the fridge. LeeAnn and Katina then showed up and then Bubba came up and started the van up and moved it down closer to his house. Helen and Sonja then came down and the five of us talked. Johnny then showed up and then we decided to go ahead and get in the van. Jason then showed up, followed by Lyle and then Robin and Troy got in. We then paid our $10.00 to Bubba for the van and we left. I sent Amanda a text that we were leaving the station. We stopped at Shell and Troy ran inside and got money. We then went to Amanda's house and picked her up and then we headed on over to the bar. We got there and we all went inside and I got a Coors Light and then put my songs in. We all had a good time, especailly Amanda. I lost track of how many Coors Lights I had, but I also had a Yeager Bomb and two test tube shots of Red Headed Slut. We left the bar around 02:30 hours and stopped at Angie's to eat breakfast. We left there and headed on home. We dropped Amanda off at her house and then headed back to the station. We got back there around 04:30 hours and we all said our goodbyes and headed on home. When I got home I noticed that the house was dark. I parked and my father opened the door and had a flashlight in his hand. Here the power was out just on our street. I got in and changed and crashed in bed. I got up this afternoon around 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ran up to the fire house and picked up the half case to take up to Don Deppen at Medic 6 and then ran that up there and then came home. Once at home I took a shower and then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played a game of college football. I then got off and got on the computer to do a few things and also eat dinner. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
