My Year End Review for 2007

I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon around 13:10 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I am soon going to head into town to get buns for the party tonight at the fire hall. I also have to stop and pick up a case of beer for both Jess and Troy and then off to the fire hall for the New Year's Eve Party. My blog tomorrow will consist of everything that goes on at the party tonight.

Now on to my 2007 Year End Review:
January - January for me at least did not start out to well. My glasses broke on January 2nd, and then two days later, something broke in my hearing aid. So January saw me replacing my glasses and getting my hearing aid fixed. January also saw me become a regular aclohol drinker.

February - February was realtively slow for once and not much really happened for or the family in February.

March - March saw Amanda, Sue, Bob, and Steve purchase Dick Wolfe's Garage in Susquehanna Township, fullfilling Amanda's dream to own a garage with her father. March also saw myself, LeeAnn, Troy, Lonny, Helen, Andy, and Eric from 216 and Amanda from 29 and many other local firefighters start the Essentials of Firefighting series.

April - April saw us continuing with Essentials with Mod B.

May - May was a busy month for me. It started out with me and my father going up to State College to a Central Pennsylvania EMA gathering, along with Alf, Kim, Mike and Steve from County to talk about the Tornado that went through the Halifax Area in December of 2006. This was quiet an expierence for me. This was followed by another Fire Expo, but was a sad one, as the decision was made to put Toby to sleep as his blindness had gotten to bad. RIP Toby, my friend and pal. May also saw me turn 22.

June - June was another busy month for me. It saw a surprise birthday party for me at the fire house. The then 2007 Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention in Hummelstown/Union Deposit. I was elected Junior Vice-President at this years convention. Then the following day at the parade, the Tanker finally won 1st Place for Most Functional Tanker in County, and the Utility won a Judge's Award. This was followed by the Tanker winning 1st Place at the Lebanon County Volunteer Firemen's Convention. This would mark a tremondus run of the Tanker taking 1st place at almost every parade we went to.

July - July saw me officially start working Part-Time at Medic 6. It also saw another successful Festival at the fire company. It also saw me get thoughly trashed at the after festival party and then go to the county re-organization meeting in Lykens afterwards. It also marked the beginning of parade season. July also saw me go over to Shade Mountain for the first time and now I am a regular.

August - August saw the fire company have a stand at the Halifax Firemen's Carnival for the first time in years, followed by more trainning and the Start of Essentials again with Mod C. However the 216 group lost two people. Eric for work reason and Andy due to Barb giving birth to their second child. It also saw the fire company have a stand during the week long Millersburg Bicentinnal Celebration. This also saw the Engine win 1st Place at the Halifax Firemen's Carnival and the Utility taking Second Place.

September - This saw me go with the gang from the fire house down to Wildwood, New Jesery to the New Jersey State Firemen's Convention, which will also become a regular thing for me now each year. It also saw us go over to the New Bloomfield Parade and win with each piece, The Tanker taking first and the Engine and Utility taking second. It also saw my apply to become a Full Time EMT at Medic 6.

October - This was a quiet month, with Essentials continnuing and the start up of Bingo season again at the fire company.

November - November saw the Ham Dinner with us selling out for the first time that I have ever heard of, Essentials still continuing and the Fruit coming in to be sorted and delievered again. It also marked the second year the family ate Thanksgiving Dinner out at a restuarant. It also saw me become cleared at 13 to drive with anybody and any class.

December - December saw the fire companies second annual Christmas party, with Amanda being my date. Which was followed the next day by our Live Burn at HACC and the end to a almost year long run of Essentials for us. It saw me play Santa for a second year for the Fire Police and the third year of me playing Santa on Christmas Eve. It also saw me get the news that I wanted that I will become a Full Time EMT for Medic 6 in the new year.

And so another year comes to a close. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but everyone has come through in one piece. The year 2008 holds a lot od knowns and unknowns. At least on known is effective January 1st, 2008, I officially become Full Time at Medic 6 and take over the inventory and ordering of Supplies. The rest will be a wait and see game.

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a safe and HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!

P.S., if I have your cell number, expect a drunk call around midnight!!!! :-)
