One More Day
I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade together and then got in my car and left and headed up to Eville to work. Once I got up there I parked and went inside and clocked in. I then did my rig check on 6-3 and then got on the computer to fill out the paperwork and check a few things while I ate breakfast. We then ran up to Wal-Mart at 09:00 hours to meet the Lykens crew for breakfast at Subway. I got a soft pretzel and a bottle of Apple Juice and the three of us ate and were finished by the time the Lykens crew got there. They had just finished eating when the tones went off for chest pains in Wiconisco Township. Tony and Kathy took that and myself, Matt, and Tindel went back to the electronics to browse. We then left and headed back to the station. Once back at the station, Tindel sat down to do some con-ed credits. He had to have 16 hours of con-ed credits by midnight this Tuesday. Matt that got out the x-box and played on that while I watched him, and Tindel did his con-ed credits. He did 8 hours of credits in 2 hours time. The Lykens crew then got back from their call and decided to go over the new bag that was put together to replace the one blue bag that was falling apart at the seams. After we got that all squared away (they ended up putting everything back in the old blue bag until they talk to all the other medic's and get their idea's) the Lykens crew headed back up and the three of us sat down on the couch's and turned on football to watch. All three of us ended up falling asleep on the couchs until around 16:00 hours the tones went off for a sick person in Klingerstown in Northumberland County. The Lykens crew took that cal land I got up and went to the bathroom and that was when I noticed that it was starting to snow outside. We all then got back on the couchs and fell asleep again this time unitl around 17:30 hours when myself and Matt woke up. We then went up to Jo-Jo's and ate dinner. While we were eating dinner, the tones went off for a Medic from 6 to meet up with Ambulance 20-2 in Halifax for abdominal pains. Tindel got up and left and then me and Matt finished our food and then headed back to the station. By this time it was a mix of sleet and snow that was coming down outside. We were only back at the station for a little bit until the tones went off fo and accident with injures in front of the Upper Dauphin Middle School. Me and Matt got in 6-3 and off we went. We got there and there was one car on it's side, with the roof call caved in, and another truck sitting behind the SUV with moderate front end damage. We got refusal's on both of the guys and then started back to the station. We did not get that far, when we saw a car sitting along the side of the road with it's flashers on. So we pulled over and stopped to see what was going on. Thie young girl had spun out and got her car stuck in the grass. She was waiting on her mother and father to get there from Pillow so one of them could drive her home as she was nervous about driving now. We helped her get the car untsuck and then we waited there with her until her parents got there and then we left and headed back to the station. Once back at the station, I did my chart and then clocked out around 20:27 hours and left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then Sue called me and asked me if I wanted to cover some of Amanda's shift tonight since she got stuck down in Middletown due to the weather. I said that was not a problem, so I have been on duty since 22:30 hours and go off at 04:00 hours. I am soon going to bed then as I am tired.
