Busy Night at Medic 6

I left the house last night around 18:15 hours and headed on up to Eville to work. I stopped at Koppy's and grabbed a snack for the night and then headed to the station. Once I got there I parked and went inside and clocked in and then put my stuff in the fridge. I then did my rig check and then filled the form out on the computer and checked a few things online. John then left and then Steve left also. Kuntz came in around 19:55 hours and then Jim and Enders left. Then Bowser and Audey came down so Bowser could pick up the supervisor phone. I was sitting on the couch wathing TV. They left and then I continued to watch TV and kept checking on the item I was bidding on, on Ebay. I did win the item, after a bidding war with someone else. Kuntz went back to the bunk room around 22:30 hours and then I called Bill and talked to him. After I was done talking to Bill, I laid down on the couch and popped Kelly's Hero's into the DVD player. I got to watch about 20 minutes of that when around 23:30 hours the tones went off for seizures in Halifax Township. I got my stuff back on my belt and got my boots on and then went out to 6-3 and got in and waited for Kuntz to come out. Once he came out I put us responding and off we went. Sue and Kim were on the 13 bus for the night. We got down there and Scott had gone to the scene also. We went in and they were putting the guy in the Reeves stretcher and they said he was combative. We got him out into the unit and we ended up holding his arms and legs down until Kuntz could get the IV in and then we ended up using restraints on him. They then headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital and I ran up to Shell and got fuel and then went over to Sheetz to wait for them to get back. They got back and dropped Kuntz and his gear off and we talked for a few minutes and then we both left and we headed back to the station. Once there Sue called me to tell me about what it said in the comments for the call and I took a look at them also and got a kick out of what it said. I then laid back down on the couch to go to sleep and that lasted all of 20 minutes as the tones went off again to meet 20-1 at the Halifax High School for chest pains from SLV. I got my stuff back on my belt and got my boots back on and went back out and got back in 6-3 and once Kuntz got in I put us responding and off we went. We got there and 20-1 showed up about 3 minutes later. I loaded his gear onto 20-1 and they headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. I went back up to Sheetz again and parked and waited to them to get back. They dropped him off and we went available and then headed back up to the station. We got back and I laid down on the couch and I was out, this was around I would say 05:43 hours. Then around 06:20 hours the tones went off again for breathing problems in Schuylkill County, Porter Township. Normally this would be a Lykens truck call, but they were already out and Kuntz could not go on calls after 06:00 hours because of going to work. So I ended up calling down to County and told them that we were out of service, and then I laid back down on the couch and I was out like a light. I woke up around 07:59 hours and got my stuff on my belt and got my boots on and put my pillow away. I then told the on coming crew how the truck was and then I put a quick order for supplies in and then I clocked out and left and headed on home. Once at home I changed and went to bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 04:30 hours and got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate dinner and read the paper. I then left and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. Bingo went good and Dave Warfel also showed up to help is with the Firefighter 1 applications. After bingo was over, I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to go to bed as I am tired.

Hundred's of Accidents

I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed around 07:30 hours when the pager went off for an accident with injuries in Millersburg Borough on Rabbit Hill. It was for either 20 or 13. I knew 20 was going to get outso I laid in bed. My grandfather had called me about 5 minutes before the pager went off to see if my mother had left already and I said yes. He asked because of how the roads were and then we talked for a little bit. 20 then got out and County told them they had a male laying along the side of the road with two fractured legs. I decided to keep the pager open to hear what was going on and I heard units in lower county sliding all over the place while they were heading to multiple accidents. My father then called and asked if my mother had left yet and I said yes and then he told about all the accidents he was hearing. After I hung up with him, the pager went off again for the same accident. So I got out of bed and started getting dressed. Carol then called and I told her that I was just now getting dressed as I figured that they did not need us after 20 got out. Then the house phone rang and it was my brother asking me if my mother had left already. I told him yes and that I had to go cause I had an ambulance call and he kept talking. I told him I had to go and hung up on him and Carol and finished getting dressed and then got in my car after carefully walking to it due to the driveway being a solid sheet of ice and headed on into the "Barn". I got there and Dohn had 13-2 sitting out already. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and it ended up being a 15 to 20 multi-vehicle pile up. We ended up getting one refusal as 20 had taken the most serious person. Right as we had pulled in, my fire pager went off for an accident with injuries on Rettinger Road. Sue and Carol took that call and naturally I was pissed off that I had missed another fire call due to being at work. We then headed back to town and got fuel and then headed back to the station. While we were on our way there County dispatched 6 for an accident with injuries on Clarks Valley Road in Rush Township. They told County they were going to go Peters Mountain to Dauphin to get to the accident, so County said they would dispatch us. So Dohn ran into the bathroom real quick and then they dispatched us and off we went. While we were heading down there, County dispatched Life Team to another accident with injuries on Clarks Valley Road. We ended up coming upon that accident, which was one pick-up on it's side with no injuries. We advised county and continued on and came upon another accident with an SUV on it's side. PSP was already there and we checked to see if there were any injuries and they said no. So we advised County and continued on to our accident. We got there and Rescue 38 and Rescue 66 were already there. We got the guy loaded up and Tim got there and we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital with the guy and got a refusal on his niece. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We dropped Tim off at his squad at 3 B's and then continued on back to the shed. Once we got back, Sue and Carol were there. I logged my times in while Dohn and Carol restocked 13-2. I got my times and Sue finished her chart. Both her and me then headed on out to Subway to meet up with Kim and grab lunch. I had a 6" ham and cheese sub. After we had lunch they headed to the gym and I headed back to the shed to do my 3 charts. I finished them and then headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then got on the PS2 to play Grand Thetf Auto: Vice City Stories. My mother then came home and I helped her bring some stuff into the house. John Boyer then called me and asked me if I wanted to come in early tonight and I said that was not a problem. So I just finished eating dinner and am now getting ready to head up to work early.

Helping at the Garage

I went to bed last night at 01:00 hours and got up this morning at 06:50 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got changed into street clothes and then grabbed a bowl of cereal. I then grabbed my check book and some extra money and then got in my car to head on down to the garage. I decided to go the back way to avoid the school due to the lights being on. So I took Enders Road to Powell's Valley Road, then Price Road to Parmer Drive to the red light. I then went around the mountain. As I was on 322 and just before the Linglestown exit, I saw Amanda's car about 3 cars in front of me in the left lane, so I knew she was obvisouly running late. She got off at the Progress exit and I got off at the Union Deposit exit and came back around and as I pulled in she was just getting out of her car. I parked and she took me in through the garage part as no one had opened up yet. I followed her in and we started talking right away. I stood at the counter and talked to her while she started printing up paper work. I then sat down in the other office chair behind the counter and started reading the paper while we talked. The one mechanic then came in and told me that the gasket around my intake manifold was leaking and that it would need fixed then. We then got talking some more when Bob stuck his head in and asked me if I could help them push a car into one of the bays. I said that was not a problem and went out and helped them push a Jeep into one of the bays. I then moved my car out of the way when they were done with it and went back in. Amanda had then gotten a call from her one uncle who own's the deli in Steelton asking her weather she had finished the chart he asked her to do and she said that she was working on it. She hung up and told me she needed help trying to get the lines on the chart. So I spent about an hour trying to figure this out for her while she also called Alf to see if he could help also. Between myself and Alf we got things squared away for her to start plugging the information in when Sue brought it down to her later on. I then said my goodbyes to her and then left and headed over to Osteo to visit Bubba. I got there and parked and then made my way through the hospital and found his room. When I walked in, Robin and Jaz were there also and Bubba was laying in bed watching TV. I talked with them for 1 hour and then I left to go do the other things I planned on doing while I was down in Harrisburg. From Osteo, I ran down to Kolh's to pick up a gift card for Jeff for her birthday. I then ran back to Best Buy to pick up the game "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories." I got there and decied to look at TV's since I am thinking about getting a new one for in my room so I can get a DVD player. I then went over to the PS2 games and they were sould out of the game. So I then decided to run over to Target and they were sold out also. So I stopped at the two Game Stop's in the area and they were sold out also. So by this time it was around 12:00 hours, so I stopped at Pizza Hut and had lunch. I then stopped at the Colonial Park Mall and hit the video game store in there and they were also sold out of the game. So I decided to try the Target by Chambers Hill. So I went over there and I finally found it at that Target. I then headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Shell to pick up some Easter Eggs for my mother to take down to my Grandparents tomorrow when she goes down to visit. I then stopped at Giant to pick up a birthday card for Jess, some water for my mother and a gallon of Iced Tea for myself. When I turned into the parking lot, I saw the Montero sitting in the row in front of Rite Aid. So I parked and went in Giant and he was sitting in one of the motorized wheel chairs talking to someone. I talked with him some more until Robin came out and then we talked for a few minutes and then they headed on over to Rite Aid and I got what I needed and headed on home. Once at home I told my mother about my day and then I got on the PS2 to play my new game for about 2 hours. I then got off at 17:40 hours and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower and got back on the computer to do a few things. Then around 21:00 hours the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Township at our frequent flyer's place. I got changed and got in my car and headed to the scene to assist as we always expect the worse with him. I got there and Amanda and Scott were on 13-2 and Sue and Alf were on the scene. I parked behind Alf's vehicle and went inside and they were all in the bedroom. It ended up being a false alarm since the wife waited until he was asleep to call 911 and he was not happy. Sue said she gave him a sternum rub to wake him up, and when he did, he woke up swining. He ended up signing off and all of us headed back to what we were doing. Sue went back to the gym to tan and then work out, Alf went back to watch the State of the Union Address, and Amanda and Scott went back to the "Barn" and I headed on home. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

A Early Morning Call

I went to bed last night around 03:20 hours and was rocked out of bed around 03:40 hours for chest pains in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Scott was already there and just getting in 13-2 when I pulled in. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded and then Tracey got on and we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped Tracey off at Sheetz and then ran over to Shell to get fuel. I also got a half gallon of Guers Orange Drink and something to munch on while I did my chart. We then went back to the shed. Once there, Scott changed the "M" Cylinder on 13-2 and I restocked the unit and then I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 14:02 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I was on the computer and watched TV. I then left the house around 17:15 hours and headed up to the fire house for Con-Ed Training tonight. I got there and LeeAnn, Jason, Katina and Kenny were in the kitchen playing cards. They asked me if they were going ro bother my father's class and I said I did not think so as long as they did not make to much noise. Class went good, but I thought it drug on forever. I then left and headed on home once class was over. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

My 1,000th Blog

Today's Blog marks a milestone, my 1,000th Blog. I have been doing this blog now since February 2005, so close to 3 years now. There has been a wide range of topics discussed in my blog's over the past 3 years and there will be plenty more to come hopefully in the next 3 years.

I went to bed last night earlier, around 01:50 hours and was rocked out of bed this afternoon around 14:05 hours when the pager went off for an accident with entrapment in Wayne Township. I was not on duty, so I laid in bed and listened to the call. It ended up actually being in Halifax Township and there was no entrapment as the person slef extricated themselves from the vehicle. I got up and read the paper and then got on the PS2 to play Call of Duty 3. I finally finished the game today. I got off at 17:00 hours and got on the computer to check a few things. I then ate dinner while I did a few things on the computer and watched TV. I went on duty at 18:00 hours and am on until 06:00 hours tomorrow morning with Scott. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Busy Day at 13

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed around 06:45 hours for a sick person at Polk Assisted Living in Millersburg Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my boots on and got in my car. Sue called me and told me that she was getting ready to head back into the "Barn" with 13-2 for me and Dohn. I then got in my car and off I went. I got there and as I pulled in, 6-3 went on the scene. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got as far as the stop sign and Wertz came back on and put us in service as they would handle. So we turned around at the Recycling bins and went back to the shed. Once there I got back in my car and headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed to try and get some more sleep. That did not last long for me as I was rocked out of bed again around 07:54 hours when the pager went off for bleeding at SLV in Upper Paxton Township. I got back out of bed and got dressed again and grabbed the stuff I had to take in with me. I then got back in my car and headed to Dohn's house. I got there and parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and Tindell was already there with the squad. It ended up being released to BLS and we loaded him up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at Dohn's house I got my car and ran into town to do a few things. I stopped at the Post Office and mailed the package back to the company in New York. I then ran up to Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription of my mothers. I then ran over to Giant and picked up a thing of cheese spread for lunch. I then headed on home. Once at home I got the mail and went inside. I then read the paper and then ate lunch. I then got the sweeper out to sweep the floors. I started to sweep back in the bedroom and as I was starting on my parents bedroom, the pager went off for a fall victim at the Frederick Health Center in Millersburg Borough. I put the sweeper away and got my boots on and got in my car and headed on into the "Barn". I got there and parked and Dohn had 13-2 out already and I got in and off we went. We got up there and got the lady loaded and took her down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. Once back at the shed, I logged my times in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I got on the PS2 for a little bit and played Call of Duty 3. I then got off and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Sue at Medic 6

I went to bed Tuesday Night at 02:00 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and ran out to my car and started it awhile. I then came back inside and got dressed. I then took my suitcase out to the kitchen. I then got my lunch and Gatorade bottle together. I then left the house around 07:25 hours and headed on up to Eville to work. I got there and parked and went inside and clocked in. I then did my rig check on 6-7 and then filled out the online form and checked a few things online while I ate breakfast. I then went up front to the office and I saw that my supplies had come in. So I put them away and did a quick inventory of the ALS Restock Cabinet, BLS Extrication Cabinet, the ALS Med Room and the BLS Room. We then headed to Special Place for breakfast. Jim and Tommy were on the squad and me and Tim were on 6-7. Up in Lykens it was Kathy, Enders and Flipper. We got there last as Tim had to stop at Koppy's and get a pack of smoke's and some money. We got there and ordered. I got a side order of bacon and two pieces of white toast and a glass of water. After we had all finished eating anf were sitting there talking, the tones went off for abdominal pains in Millerburg Borough. Jim and Tommy took that call. We then headed back to the station. Once there I finished my inventories and then the tones went off for back pains in Wayne Township. Me and Tim took that call. We got there and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Hershey Medical Center. After we got what we needed down there we headed on back. Tim had to stop at the Hess station to get a cup of coffee. I got a soda and a bag of chips to munch on and then we continued on back. Once back at the station I ate lunch while I did my chart for the call. I then called around and was able to get Stutzman to cover my shift on February 1st. I then went out and sat on the couch and watched TV until we started getting the bay ready for the Con-Ed Class that was going to be taught that night. We pulled the squad and 6-7 out and let them sit outside and run. We then brought the red folding chairs from out back inside, along with the white hare plastic chairs. Me and Tommy then cleaned them off and set them up. Tracey was there by that time and he set a table up to hold the laptop and the projector. We then had the staff meeting at 18:00 hours and people slowly started to show up for the Con-Ed Class and went out into the bays. After the staff meeting we had the class. I saw that Sue had come up to take the class, along with Alf, Kim, Dohn and Carol, anda few people from County and a few other people. After the class was over, we put the chairs away and got the table put away. Tommy then backed the squad in and then I backed 6-7 in and then moved 6-3 back to the side of the building. I then said goodbye to Sue and then I went in and told Tim that I wanted to head up to Shell and get fuel. We also loaded up the cardboard in 6-7 to take to the recycling bins. We went to the recycling bins first and dropped the cardboard off. We then stopped at Shell to get fuel and of course it was the slow pump, so it took almost 20 minutes to put a quarter of a tank in the truck. While we were getting fuel, the tones went off for a diabetic problem in Heigins in Schuylkill County. 6-5 took that call so now we were the only truck left in our territory. We then stopped at Koppy's so I could grab something to eat since Jo-Jo's was already closed. I got some popcorn chicken, a bag of chips and two peanut butter easter eggs. We then went back to the station. Once there I ate dinner while I put in the DVD of Kelly's Hero's that I brought from home. I then went to sleep around 01:40 hours. I was rocked out of sleep around 06:00 hours when the tones went off. It was for Ambulance 62 to respond to a rekindle at the scene of the structure fire from earlier in the night. I went back to sleep. Then around 06:58 hours the tones went off fo breathing problems in Halifax Township. I got up and got my boots on and then got the stuff back on my belt. I then pissed real quick and then went out to the bay and got in 6-7 and off we went. We got there just as 13-2 was getting on scene. We went inside and then helped Dohn and Carol load the Pt. into the back of 13-2 and then Tim went down with them to Harrisburg Hospital. I headed on back to the station since it was now around 07:30 hours. I got back a few minutes after 08:00 hours. I backed in and told John and Stutzman how the truck was. I then clocked out and typed up my time card and then got my stuff together and then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into my PJ's and change my BDU pant's and then went ot bed to get some more sleep. Around 11:30 hours my cell phone woke me up. It was Robin calling to tell me that they were on their way down to Osteo's ER for Bubba's foot. She said that we were to still have the building meeting tonight. I heard Bubba in the background telling her to make sure she told me about something. I told her to let me know if they admit him and what room he is in. I then went back to sleep. Then around 02:30 hours my cell phone woke me up again. This time it was Holly. She asked me if I had heard anything more on Bubba. I told her what I knew and she said that she had just talked to Robin. She said that Robin told her that they were running some test on him then they were going to give him IV antibotic's and then once they started taking effect and if things looked good, they were going to put a pic line in hime and send him home and having a visiting nurse come ot the house everyday to take care of the pic line. I said that sounded better then being in the hospital for 6 weeks. Holly agreed and said that he pic line would be in from 6 to 8 weeks. We then hung up and I decided to get up. I got up and changed into street clothes and then read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left around 17:20 hours and headed up to the hall for the building meeting. Once everyone got there we had about a two hour meeting throwing ideas around and talking abotu different things with the building. We then all left around 20:15 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Bubba's Foot

I went to bed last night around 04:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 07:57 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got in there and Dohn already had 13-2 sitting out. I parked the car and got in 13-2 and off we went. It was the lady that me and Amanda had last Saturday Night. We got there and got the lady loaded up and Tindell then showed up and went down with us and we took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We dropped Tindell off at the squad back at the scene and when he got in the squad, he noticed that it was no longer running. It turns out that he left his headlights on and it had drained the batteries down. So we jump started the squad and then headed on back to the shed. Once there I restocked the unit and logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then ran up to Rite Aid to pick up my medication. Since my Ameri Health Mercy had run out on January 14th, and my Health American from Medic 6 does not go into effect until February 1st. I ended up paying full price, which was $155.00 for a 30 day supply. I then went over to Giant and got 4 bags of chips and a gallon of Diet Iced Tea. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. My mother then came home from her doctor's appointment in Harrisburg. I then moved my car and got the mail and my new insurance card was in the mail. I told my mother and she said about running back into Rite Aid and seeing if they could run it through again with the new insurance. So I went in and Bubba and Robin had just pulled in when I did. I went over to the car to see how Bubba's foot was doing and how he made out at the doctor's and he said not good. He then got out of the car and his left foot was in one of those medical shoes. He told me that they were putting him on Vicodin and antibiotics and that if they did not work or at least show it was improving by Thursday, they were going to put him in the hospital for a minimum of 6 weeks as they would have to cut his foot open and drain it. Well I found out at Rite Aid that my new insurance did not take effect until February 1st. I then talked to Bubba for a little bit more and then I headed on home. Once at home I got on the PS2 and played Call of Duty 3. I got off at 15:50 hours and got on the computer to do a few things. Then at 17:00 hours the pager went off for a chimney fire in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the shed. I got there and Kim already had 13-2 pulled out and she was sitting in the passenger's seat. I parked and got in t4he driver's seat and off we went. We got there and Tom and Alf were already there. I parked up enough to be out of the way on the road and then we walked back the driveway. This house used to be Hilda's house before she died. We were there for about 1 hour until we were released. We went back to the shed and I logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things on the computer. I then took a shower and had a light snack. I am now gettign ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Busy Night at Medic 6

I went to bed Saturday night around 01:30 hours and got up at 05:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got up and got dressed and then grabbed my suit case and took that out to the kicthen. I then got my breakfast together and my Gatorade bottles together and put them in my car and started my car awhile also. I then got the paper and brought that inside and sat down and read the comics quick. I left the house around 05:35 hours and headed on up to Eville to go to work. I was coming in early for John who had to work as a cop down in Millersburg on Sunday morning. I got up there and parked and went inside and put my Gatorade's in the fridge and my suitcase on the one couch. I only saw John sleeping on the one couch, but I saw the light on in the computer room. I clocked in and then went in the computer room and Beef was up and on the computer working on some paperwork. I got him to sign the observer paper and then I got on the computer to check a few things. I then put an order in for Dextrose, Glucose, and Medium Gloves. Tim then came in around 07:30 hours and John was already up, had a shower and was just leaving. Bruce then showed up around 07:50 hours and he came in and I introduced him to Beef and Tim. I then took him out and went over a rig check with him and let him check the rig. I then took him in an showed him the paper or whatever you want to call it on the computer. We then went out to the day room and sat down and watched movies until 12:00 hours. At 12:00 hours we got in 6-7 to head on down to the fire house for the Pork and Beef Dinner. I drove and we stopped at Koppy's so Pam and Bruce could get some money for the dinner. We got down there and went inside and we sat down and ate. The meal was delicaous as always. We then left there and I stopped at home real quick and picked up a DVD to watch later that night, and then we headed on back to the station. Once we got back we went back in the day room and sat down to go back to watching movies. We were sitting there and I heard 13-1 talking to county over the scanner. I asked Tim what 13 had and she said a fall victim. Well then Tim got up and went out to the bay to have a smoke. The three of us then heard 13-1 call county and ask them to dispatch a medic to meet them in Fisherville. We all got up and went out to the bay and told Tim that he was heading back to Fisherville to meet up with 13. About that time the tones went off. He got in the squad and took off. After he left I went back into the day room and put Full Metal Jacket in the DVD played to watch again. After we finished watching that, we turned on the Patriots vs Chargers football game and watched that. Tim then came back and me and Bruce helped him restock and then we went back in and sat down to watch the game. I am assuming that I fell asleep in the recliner at some point as I woke up when the tones went off for a cardiac arrest in Upper Paxton Township. Pam asked me if I was going to respond to assist and I said yes. Tim went out and got in the squad and the three of us got in 6-7 and off we went. We got about a half mile outside of Eville when Chief 20-C called a Signal 12 and placed both of us in service. So we turned around and headed on back to the station. Once back there we sat down to now watch the Packers vs Giants football game. We had nothing else for the rest of the day shift. Bruce and Pam left at 20:00 hours and then me and Tim ran up to Koppy's. I grabbed a few things in Koppy's and then ran over to Jo-Jo's and got a Ham and Cheese sub and a side order of fries to go. We then headed back to the station. Once back there I ate dinner while I watched the football game. Around 21:30 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Millersburg Borough. We got in 6-7 and took off. We got there and went inside. Fred and Lola were already there as was Lanny and Jeff and they were getting the lady loaded onto the stretcher. So Tim went out and set up in the truck and I grabbed the rest of his gear and then helped 20 bring the stretcher down the front steps and loaded into the back of 20-2. They then headed on down to Hershey. I then headed over to the fire house to use the bathroom and then I headed into Sheetz to wait for Tim to get back. I sent Sue a text to see if she was still up and I got no answer right away. So once I got to Sheetz, I called Bill and talked to him for about 25 minutes and then Sue sent me a text back asking me yes and why, and then she called me. I told her I was sitting at Sheetz waiting for Tim to get back fomr Hershey with 20 and was going to stop at the house to talk. She said she had to stop at Sheetz and get a cup of coffee and then I could follow her over to the house. So I saw her come in and then we she letf, I just followed her over to the house. Once there, I parked out in the street and left the unit running and then went inside and we sat in the kitchen and talked. We were sitting at her table talking and I had the portable radio in with me and I heard Tim come on the air and ask county to get ahold of me to have me call the medic cell phone. So I pulled the EMT phone out and called him and asked him what was up. He told me to start heading towards Hershey as 20-2 had a flat tire. He said that Fred saw the left outside dual flat when they came out of Hershey. For some reason that is unknown, Fred decided to try and drive back with the flat tire. Well when they got on 322 and started driving, the tire blew, which then took out the inside tire of the dual's. So they were now sitting between the Hershey and Hummelstown exits waiting for a tow truck. So I said ok that I would start heading down that way. I told Sue what happened and we said our goodbyes and then I got in the bus and headed on down to Hershey. While I had been sitting at Sheetz, 6-5 got dispatched for abdominal pains in Lykens Borough and they were now on their way down to Harrisburg Hospital. I got behind 6-8 on Peter's Mountain and then passed them once we got on the highway. I got down to Hershey and turned around and started heading back towards Harrisburg and found them and pulled in behind them. I then helped Tim load his gear into the truck and then we left and headed on back. We stopped at the Hess station so Tim could get a cup of coffee and then we headed on back to the station. As I passed the new Harmon Stove Warehouse, the fire pager went off for a reported structure fire on Scholl Road in Halifax Township. Naturally I was not happy as I was once again missing another fire call due to me being at work. Once back I went in and sat down on the couch as it was now 01:20 hours. I turned the TV on and ate my snack for the night while I watched TV and listened to the fire pager to hear what was going on. I laid down and went to sleep around 02:00 hours. The tones then went off around 05:10 hours for an unconscious person in Upper Paxton Township. I got up and got my boots on and then got the stuff back on my belt and then went out and got in 6-7 and off we went. We got there before 20-1 and went inside and it ended up being a diabetic problem instead. We all figured Tim would get some Dextrose in her and she would refuse to go down to the hospital. While when she started coming around her husband said she was not coming around like she normally does. So she ended up going to the hospital. No the driveway to this place still had a decent amount of snow on it and some of it had turned to ice by now. So I had gone outside as I was getting hot in the house. Lola came out and said that they needed the strether. I told her that I would get it and I started towards the back of their rig. Right at the back I started to slide on the ice and I grabbed the side hand rail and just flung myself around to the back doors. I got the stretcher out and shut the back doors. Then I started the task of trying to get the stretcher up the driveway without falling on my ass. I took small steps and pulled on the stretcher. When I got to the back of our unit, I ran into a problem as I was starting to slide back down the driveway with the stretcher. Fred then showed up and grabbed my arm and helped pull me up. He then went to the unit and got the Reeves and took it inside. We put her on the Reeves and carried her outside and put her on the stretcher. We then started to take her back down to 20's unit. Tim was at the head and Lanny was at the feet and I was on the left side of the stretcher. When we got to the back of their unit again, I put my right hand on the hand rail on the side of their unit and had my left hand on the stretcher. Well my feet went out from underneath me and my right hand shot up and grabbed the hand rail and I was at a 75 degree angle. I eventually got my feet back under me and we continued to move the stretcher to the back of the unit. We got it hooked in and then I felr Fred put his arm around me to keep me from falling as I helped them get the stretcher into the back of the unit. They then headed to Harrisburg Hospital and I left and headed out to the fire house to get some notes off of the incident report. I then left and headed into Sheetz to wait for them to get back. They finally got back around 08:20 hours. I helped Tim load his stuff into the unit and then we headed back to the station. Once back at the station I helped him restock and then I gave Wendy the shipping papers from the stuff that came in Friday after she had left. I then talked to Steve for a little bit and then Kathy told me we were getting low on Adult Nasal Canulla's. So I put a quick order in before I clocked out and then left and headed on home. Once at home I talked to the parents for a little bit and then I changed and went back to bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 16:45 hours when my mother came in and told me that dinner was ready, I got up and changed into street clothes and then read the paper while I ate dinner. I then left the house at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. The meeting was longer then usual and we were done close to 20:30 hours. We then went down to the fire house and shot the shit and then I left around 22:30 hours and headed on home. I was talking to my mother about a few things with the hall and then my father came out and we started talking. He then made a comment about the meetings and that he was going to say something at the next meeting he goes to and I told him that he should not as it was going to piss people off. He then raised his voice as I had interupted him. I calmly asked him not to yell and he started yelling louder. I asked him again and even my mother asked him to stop yelling, which just made him yell louder. I then got up and said I was not going to talk to him if he was going to yell and walked out to the kitchen. This just pissed him off even more and I heard him throw his water bottle. I then came back in the living room and said I was not going to talk to him and went back to my room and he went out to the kitchen. I then stuck my head out my door and made the comment that he shouldn't bother with coming to the building meeting Thursday nigth. He got pissed as he thought I was telling him what to do and he came stomping into the living room screaming at me. I walked out and told him to stop screaming and then all hell broke lose. I started yelling back at him and told him I was tired of his shit. He told me to get out of his face and then he started yelling about me living under his roof and by his rules and if I did not like them to get out of the house. I again told him that I was tired of his shit and that I wanted to talk now and he kept telling me to shut up. This pissed me off and I shoved him back a few feet. He then went out to the kitchen and grabbed the phone and I went after him and tired to grab the phone. Things just got worse from that point on with more screaming and grabbing each other. I finally got the phone from him and gave it to my mother and he pushed past me and went back to his bedroom and my mother went in to talk to him while I went into my room. My mother then came over and talked to me some. We both had calmed down by this piont and my father went to bed and I took a shower. I am now soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Visit from some Junior Firefighters

After I got off the computer last night, I sat down on the couch around 22:50 hours and put in the movie Full Metal Jacket to watch again. I love that movie now. It was done by 01:10 hours and I had just sat down on the couch to get ready to go to sleep when the tones went off for a headache in Washinton Township. I got my boots back on and the stuff back on my belt and got in 6-7 and off we went. We got there and the girl came walking out to the unit. Tim ended up riding down in the back as the girl really did need him. Her boyfriend was a guy I went to high school with and he rode along down to the hospital in the unit and we talked the whole way down. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at Koppy's so Tim could grab a cup of coffee and I grabbed a pack of crackers. We then headed back to the station. Once back I helped Tim restock and then I laid down on the couch around 04:30 hours and wetn to sleep. I woke up at 07:55 hours. Stutzman, John, and Jim were already there. I got my stuff together and then clocked out and left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then read the paper. I then left around 10:36 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and Troy and Katina's vehicle's were there. I parked and went in the station to lay my copy of my Pro Board Certification on the desk and Robby was in there. We talked for a little bit until the group of Junior Firefighters from New Bloomfield showed up. We gave them a tour of the station and also of the rigs and let them ask any questions. They were there for abour 1 hour and then they left to head into Station 29. I then went up to the hall where Katina and Robin were working on stuff for the Pork and Beef Dinner tomorrow. We all went up to the hall and sat in the kitchen and shot the shit. I then left around 14:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then got on the PS2 to play Call of Duty 3. I then got off around 17:20 hours and made dinner. I ate dinner while I got on the computer to do a few things. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Busy Day at Medic 6

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed. I then grabbed my suit case and took that out to the kitchen. I then made my lunch and packed that and got my bottles of Gatorade. I then put everything in the car and left around 07:24 hours and headed up to Eville to work. I got here and parked and went inside. Flipper was already here and Yeager and Tracey were already up. I clocked in and then did a rig check on 6-7. I then went in and filled out my checklist and checked a few things online. I then went out to the med room anda checked to see if I needed to order anything. I noticed that we were out of 500 cc bags of NSS and no one bother to tell me about it or write it down on the paper that was provided out there. I also noticed that we were down to two 1,000 bags of NSS. I also put in the rest of the box of 10 Dropper IV Sets and the rest of the box of IV Extensions. By thie time Steve was here and I talked to him about the supplies and he told me to go ahead and order the supplies since we needed them. So I put an order in and then Flipper said that we were going to Special Place for breakfast. We got in 6-7 and headed on up there awhile. We got there and placed out order. I got a glass of water and a side order of bacon and white toast. Jim and Eric then showed up from Lykens and they ordered. Steve and Wendy then pulled in with 6-3. About that time the tones went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. Tim took that call with 6-1. We got to eat breakfast and after we had paid and were sitting there just shooting the shit, the tones went off again for bleeding in Upper Paxton Township. Me and Flipper got up and got in 6-7 and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded into the ambulance and then I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We ran up to Wal-Mart so Flipper could get a nead headlight lamp for his truck and then we headed back to the station. Once back at the station I put an order in for Cervical Collars. I then went in Steve's office to talk to him about the information for ordering the ECG Electrodes. Before he could give me the info the tones went off for a Diabetic Problem in Halifax Township. I heard Flipper and Tim talking as 13 was already out on a BLS call. I yelled back and Flipper asked me what the chances of 13 getting a second truck out were and I said 50/50. So Tim decided to take the call. Steve then thought he heard the UPS truck out front so we went out front to see and it was just a dump truck turning around. We were standing outside when the pagers went off again for what we thought was the Diabetic Problems call. Tim then went responding with 6-1 and county started giving him information for another call which was in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. Steve then looked at me and said that there was two calls and that we better get going. I turned back to go in the bay and Flipper was standing there and he overheard what Steve said and we quicklly got in 6-7 and off we went. Scott then got on med 9 and said that we were going to handle since 13 could not get the second unit out. He also had county dispatch 29 for medical assist until we got there. We got there right behind Engine 29-1. We went inside and Flipper gave the lady some Dextrose and she came around and ended up being a refusal. While we were there, the pager went off again for a sick person in Washington Township. Jim and Eric took that call in 6-5. We then headed on back to the station. Once back at the station I went into his office to ask him about the info for the Electrodes. He gave me the information and I called the company and placed an order. I then ate lunch while I checked a few thigns on the computer. I then sat down in thee recliner and read the paper that Flipper had brought with him. I then relaxed in the chair and edned up falling asleep and Flipper recorded me snoring. I woke up around 18:50 hours and Tim was back in the one bunk room working on his chart and Flipper was on the phone. Flipper then left around 19:10 hours and headed on up to Lykens since he was working up there tonight. Me and Tim then ran up to Jo-Jo's to grab something to eat for dinner. After we were done we came back. I am now checking a few things on the computer and then will be sitting down to watch TV. I still have another 11 hours to go of my 24 hour shift and I am hoping to get some sleep tonight since we have the Junior's from New Bloomfield coming to the station tomorrow.

It's Snowing Outside

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 13:25 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed. I then ate lunch and read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the PS2 and played Call Of Duty 3. I got off at 17:20 hours and changed into street clothes. I then got in my car and left and headed on down to Harrisburg to go to EMA training tonight. I stopped at Rite Aid and dropped off a perscription and then continued on down to the County Comm Center. I got down there and parked and went inside. My father was already there. I went over into the Comm Center and talked to Dave to see how the baby was doing and then we talked for a little bit. I then went back over and Steve said that the food was there. There was fried chicken, various chips, and various baked goods. Training went good and we were out of there by 20:30 hours. While on the way home I pasted an accident on 322 in Dauphin where a tractor trailer had smacked the concrete Jersey barrier and knocked it into the far left lane on our side of the highway. I went around the mountain and right there at Long'S Cemetary, I saw flashing yellow lights and Fire Police. I went by and there was a flat bad pulling a car up onto it that hgad major driver's side front end damage from it smacking one of the trees there. I then stopped at Sheetz and got gas. I then stopped at Giant and grabbed a bag of chips and then headed on home. I slid a couple of times on my way home, but overall the roads were ok. Once at home I took a shower and then got on the computer to check a few things. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

A Call with Sue to SLV.

Around 18:45 hours as I was getting ready to go to work, my EMS pager went off for a sick person in Jackson Township. I thought the address sounded fimilar and I looked it up and it was the address of our second assistant chief's house. I knew they have the baby so I finished getting dressed and then gave Sue a call as I knew she was on the bus and told her who it was, I told her that I was heading to the scene. I got my suit case and Gatorade bottle together and then got in my car and headed to the scene. I got there before the ambulance did and I went inside and talked with Holly. The ambulance then showed up and I told them that they were going to walk out. I then gave a quick report to the tech in the back and gave her the list of meds and past medical history that I was given and then I talked to Sue who was driving until they were ready to leave. I then got in my car and left and headed up to Eville to work. I stopped at Koppy's and grabbed something to snack on for the night and then headed down to the station. I got there and parked and went inside. Wertz, Zach, Bowser, and Enders were there and we all talked after I clocked in. Bowser then took a phone call and when he came back out he told me to come on. So I grabbed my jacket and my scope and went out to the bay and got in 6-7 and asked him where we were going. He said we were going over to Gratz to help Jim and John on a chest pains call. Come to find out that Bowser was going to get on and take over for Jim so Jim could go home. So we met them outside of Gratz and switched and then I ran Jim back up to Lykens and then headed back down to Eville. Tracey was coming in to do an open shift in Lykens and decided to just stop in Eville until Bowser got back. So once I got back I did my rig check and then I put the ALS and BLS supplies away and took an inventory on them. I then updated my list on the computer and then went out to the day room and watched TV until 6-5 got back. Once they did Bowser said about running up to Koppy's so he could get something to snack on. So we got in 6-7 and ran up there and back. Once back I got my pillow out and took up camp on the couch and watched TV while he worked on his two charts. I went to sleep around 02:00 hours and got up this morning at 07:20 hours when I heard Enders slam his car door shut outside. I got the stuff back on my belt and got my boots on and then put my pillow away. Wendy then came in and I gave her the two supply packing papers that I had signed so she could pay them. Stutzman then came in and then Tindell came in 2 minutes after 08:00 hours. We talked for a little bit and then I left and headed on home. Once at home I went back to bed. I got up around 12:30 hours when the pager went off for bleeding in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then I went out to the living room and sat down and started reading the paper. Around 12:58 hours the pager went off again for a fall victim in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. About a minute later my cell phone rang and it was Sue. So I answered and she asked me if I wanted to take the call with her and I said sure. She said that she was in Millersburg and was going to start heading towards Halifax, while I would come in and get 13-2 and started heading towards Millersburg and where ever we met she would pull over and I would pick her up. So I got up and changed clothes real qucik and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and parked and got in 13-2 and off I went. I picked Sue up at the Post Office and we continued on up to SLV. We got there and the lady had fallen out of her wheel chair landing face first on the floor. All the signs and symptoms that that staff had given me and Sue lead us both to think of an internal head injury. I told Sue I thought we needed a medic and then I unloaded on the staff about how they should have called as soon as it happened. We got her loaded and then met Tindell in Halifax and then continued on down to Hershey. After we got what we needed at Hershey, we headed on back. We dropped Tindell off at his truck and then we ran up to Shell and got fuel and then dropped Sue off at her car and then headed back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and restocked the unit and then helped Sue with the chart. We both left around 17:00 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and changed back into street clothes. I left around 17:32 hours and headed up to the fire house for bingo tonight. I also got a text from Bill that he was out of the hospital and at home. Bingo went good and then me and Bubba went down to the station and shot the shit. I then left aroud 23:00 hours and headed on home. While driving home Bill sent me a text and I called him and talked for about 15 minutes. I then came inside and took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Finally Got to See Bill

I went to bed last night at 03:05 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:58 hours when the pager went off for an accident in Halifax Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed on into the "Barn". I got there and Carol already had 13-1 pulled out and Dohn was getting back in his truck. I parked and got in 13-1 and off we went. We got on the scene and Sue was in the back of the car holding manual c-spine. The 29 boys had already put a c-collar on the lady. I got the backboard and gave it to Beak and then grabbed the CID's. Meanwhile, Dave and Fagan grabbed the stretcher. I went over to the car and helped Bruce get the backboard under the lady's behind and then went around and got in the driver's side to help move her out onto the backboard. We got her out onto the board and the stretcher as 6-3 was pulling up. We got the lady loaded into the back of the ambulance and after Wertz's first line blew, he said that we could start heading on down to the hospital. So I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. While on the way down to the hospital, I reached for my cell phone and it was not in my holder. I reached behind me and felt on the seat and it was not there. So now I was worried that I had dropped it on the roadway when I was getting in and out of the ambulance and that no one saw it and that it was now probally run over and flattened. Once we moved the lady over at the hospital, I borrowed Carol's cell phone and called my cell and did not hear it ring in the unit. So I called Scott and asked him if he had seen a cell phone on the road before he left and he said no. I asked him if he knew who towed it and he said Triple L. I asked him if he had a phone number that I could call them at and one of his co-workers gave it to me. I called and talked to the lady and asked her to please look in the car and call Carol's cell back. ABout 10 minutes later, she called back and said that they had found it in the car and that she would have it. I told her I would pick it up on our way back. So we then ran upstairs to see Bill and he had just found out that he was going to be moved to a regular room within the next 3 hours. We talked to him for about 8-10 minutes and then we left and headed on back. I stopped at Triple L and picked my cell up and then we dropped Wertz off at Sheetz and then headed back to the shed. Once there I restocked the unit and logged my time in and then left and headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the PS2 to play Call of Duty 3 when Sue called and we got talking. Then she confreneced in Bill and we had a 3 way conversation until she got to her doctor's office. I got off about 20 minutes ago and put my dinner in the over. I work at Medic 6 tonight in Eville for a 12 hour shift. So I will not be on tonight, but will be on tomorrow at some point.

No Calls

I talked to Sue last night online and she told me that Bill's pneumonia had come back and it had filled his left lung again. She also said when she talked to him last night that he told her that they had increased his antiboitic's and had put him back on the Bi-Pap. I sent a text message to everyone that I have been keeping updated to let them know. I then went to sleep around 02:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:45 hours when Whitey called my cell phone. He asked me about Bill and we talked for a little bit and then he had to go. I then got up and got dressed and then ate lunch and then read the paper while I watched All My Children on TV. I then called down to The Garage and talked to Amanda and got my car scheduled in for regular service later this month. I then called down to my doctor's office and had him write me a perscription and mail it to me. I then got on the PS2 to play Call of Duty 3. I got off the PS2 around 17:30 hours and got on the computer to do a few things while I ate dinner and watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower at 19:00 hours and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Boyd's Bear Bingo

Around 23:24 hours last night the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and then got in my car and headed on into the "Barn" to meet Amanda. I pulled in and she was already there and had the bay door to 13-1 up and she was sitting in the passenger's seat when I got in and she out us responding and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and into the ambulance. 6-3 then got there and Kuntz was the medic. He decided to go on down with us and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back and me and Amanda listened to a variety of music and sang on the way home. We dropped Kuntz off at Sheetz and then headed back to the shed. Once there I restocked the unit while Amanda started on her paperwork and talked to her Super Tropper. I stayed and talked with her and the trooper and then we both left around 02:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I finished checking my email and then went to sleep around 04:00 hours. I got up this afternoon at 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then grabbed a pack of crackers and headed on up to the fire house for Boyd's Bear Bingo. That went very well and then afterwards we sat around and shot the shit. Jason then left and then myself, Troy, LeeAnn, Katina and Kenny decided to play some cards. We played cards for about I would say close to 2-1/2 hours and then we left around 20:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Great Time at Shade Mountain

I left the house around 19:20 hours last night and headed up to the fire house. Once I got there I parked my car and waited in my car until I saw Bubba come up and start the van. He then moved the van down to his house and we waited for people to show up. Robin them came out and told Bubba that she was going to drive, so Bubba moved to the back of the van. I had the first bench seat and I sat there to save a seat for Amanda when we picked her up. Next came Jason and his father. Then Helen, her boyfriend and his friend and then LeeAnn. Robby pulled in and he said he was going to meet Tande at the Clarks Ferry Bridge. So since we had everyone, we left and headed into Shell. We stopped there and I went inside and got a bottle of Gatorade for later on. Heather then called Helen on her cell phone and told her that she ran over the curb at Giant with her car and thought she had done something to it and asked if her boyfriend could look at it. So Bubba decided to stay there with Robby while we ran back to check on her car. While we were there, Bubba said that him and Robby were going to run over and pick Amanda up and bring her back to Shell. After we were done at Giant we went back to Shell and we waited for them to get back. They got back and dropped Amanda and Bubba off and then he parked his truck as he was going to ride down with us to the Clarks Ferry Bridge. Amanda got in and sat beside me and then Bubba got in and then Robby and then we headed on down to the bridge. As we were driving she took her jacket off as she was getting hot and Robby made the comment that woman usually get hot when the sit between him and me and Amanda said it only happens when she sits beside me. We then got to the bridge and dropped Robby off and continued on over to Shade Mountain. We got there and parked and went inside. Amanda had a Coconut Rum with Pineapple Juice as her drink for the night. When I bought the first round, there was a guy in a white shirt asked me if that drink was for Amanda. I said yes and he said he would take it to her, and I grabbed it and slid it towards me and told him, no I got it. Bubba was standing beside me and chuckled. I then bought her another drink later on in the night. When the first slow dance came on, everyone got up to dance, and I grabbed Amanda and told her to come on. So we danced, and while we were dancing, Robby smacked my ass, which is normal for us. I made a comment, and Amanda said "Hey now, watch it on my date", and then wrapped her right leg around my back, not once, but twice. Overall we had a blast at the bar. I know I had a Yeager Bomb, and two test tube shots, and I lost count of how many Coors Light I had. We left there around 02:30 hours I think it was and we had decided to stop at Angie's Dinner to have breakfast. When we left the bar, I put my right arm around Amanda's shoulder and laid my head to the right. After a few minutes, she shifted in the seat, so that her left side was resting against me and she laid her head against mine and we stayed like that until we got to the dinner. We then all went inside and had breakfast. I had two pancakes, with a side order of toast and bacon. We then all paid and ot back in the van and continued on home. I again oput my arm around Amanda and she laid her head back on my arm and then laid it on my head and we stayed that way until we dropped her off at her house. We then stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then headed back to the fire house. Once there I got in my car and headed on home. Once at home I changed out oy my clothes and then went to bed around 05:00 hours. I got out of bed this afternoon at 13:45 hours when the pager went off for a CVA in Upper Paxton Township. Amanda and I think it was Kim took that call. I was laying in bed then when my cell phone rang and it was Bill. We talked for a little bit and then I gave my phone to my father so he could talk to Bill. I then told Bill to call me back in about an hour as I was going to go get a shower. I then got a shower and got on the PS2 to play the hunting game. I also ate dinner while I played on the PS2. I got off at 16:45 hours and went over to my room and laid down in bed to watch som TV. Bill then called me again around 15:45 hours and we talked for 30 minutes. I then got changed into my uniform and got on the computer to do a few things. Amanda just called me 5 minutes ago and told me that she took Scott's shift for the night so it was her and me for the night now. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

A Long Call with Sue

I went to bed last night around 02:50 hours and got up this morning around 11:00 hours when the pager went off for a call in Millersburg. 20 got out right away and we were put back in service. I then got out of bed and got dressed. I then read the paper. I then started eating lunch while I got on the computer to play "The Sims". Then at 12:34 hours, the pager went off for a phsychiatric patient in Jackson Township. Sue was on today in place of Dohn. She called me and asked me if I wanted her to pick me up in Fisherville and I said that was ok. So I saved my game and then got my boots on and then got in my car and headed to the church parking lot to meet Sue. I got there and parked and went over and stood in front of Bubba's house. I then saw Sue coming and she picked me up and we headed to the scene. We got there and Dohn was already there. We got the lady loaded up and I drove down to Hershey Medical Center. We got down there and took her into the ER. We were told to take her to admisions. So we took her out there. We were there for about 30 minutes and she refused to sign the consent to treat forum. So they talked to the phsyc ward on the second floor and they told us to take her up there. So we got to the second floor and we went in circles trying to find the phsyc ward. When we fianlly found it was stopped at the nurses station and talked to them and we were there for about 45 minutes because she refused to sign the papers to volunteary commit herself. Her caseworker finally got her to sign the papers and we got her off the stretcher and we headed back down to the ER and then we left and headed on back. We stopped at Sheetz so Sue could get something to drink and then she ran me out to my car. I talked to her for a little bit and then I got in my car and headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner and watched MASH on TV. While I was making dinner the pager went off for bleeding at our frequent flyers trailer in Halifax Township. I am soon getting ready to get changed to go to Shade Mountain tonight.

A Crazy Shift at Medic 6

I went to bed Tuesday night around 02:30 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my suitcase, lunch, and Gatorade bottles together. I then put the stuff in my car and left around 07:27 hours and headed up to Lykens to work. I got there and parked and Tim was walking down the sidewalk when I got there. I clocked in and put my lunch and Gatorade bottles in the fridge. Tindel and Audrey were on last night and I got the report from Audrey and then she left. Then me and Tim talked to Tindel until he left. I then did my rig check and Tim did his checks and then I did the forum on the computer. I then asked Tim if we were eventually going down to Eville because I had to pick up some supplies to take up to Lykens. We left around 09:00 hours and headed on down to Eville after I ate breakfast. We got down there and I parked out back and we went inside. I talked to Steve and asked him if the supplies that he ordered had come in and he said yes and that Enders had put some of it away yesterday and then another delivery of supplies came. He then got them from the front office and we took them out to the med room and I put them away and then I got the supplies to take back up to Lykens and took them and sat them on the table in the day room. The tones then went off for an accident with injuries in Halifax Township in front of Denny's Lennies. Jim and Steve got in the squad and went down to that. I then did inventory of the BLS Room and the Med Room since I had added supplies and updated my list on the computer. I was sitting at the computer when I heard Scott Paul come on Med 9 and tell county he wanted 2 more transporting units. I went out to the day room and told Yeager, Kathy, and Enders that they were going to be heading down to Halifax. Yeager asked me why and I told him that I heard Scott tell county he wanted 2 more transporting units. About that time the tones went off and they got in 6-3 and off they went. I then finished updating stuff on the computer. Leah then showed up and was going over her email and looking at the schedule on the other computer and talking to Tim. So I went out into the day room and sat down on the couch and then the tones went off with no voice, so I knew it was a Northumberland County call. I went over to the scanner and turned it up so I could hear what it was for. It was for an accident in Dalmatia and apparently 62 was already out doing a transport. Me and Tim got in 6-8 and off we went. We got up there and checked the two guys out and they both refused. SO we left there and headed on back. Once back at the station we decided to wait until Steve and Jim got back before we would go eat lunch. Well they got back and Jim had to stop at Sheetz and Strickly Chicken and get something to eat. So then we decided to wait until 6-3 got back and then we would go eat. Well Kathy called Steve on his cell phone and I heard him tell them that we were waiting for them to get back before we would eat lunch. I then heard him say, of they won't be happy, Here they had stopped at Giant and got something to eat. So then me and Tim decided to leave and got get lunch ourselves. We decided to go to Ashley's Pizza. I got a ham and cheese sub and while I was waiting for it to come out, Sue sent me a text message that Bill had taken baby steps around his bed last night and that they did not have to tube him. Needless to say I was so happy at this news. So I started calling the people that I needed to update and then I ate lunch. I then called Steve to tell him and as I was hanging up with him, Enders fire pager went off. So me and Tim were done by this time and went out to 6-8 and I got in to hear what 21 had while Tim had a smoke. We then started to head over to Wal-Mart when the tones went off for a fire reported out at the Keepler Home, and Chief 21 wanted two EMS units. They had dispatched for us and a unit from 20. Yeager got on and told county to send 6-5 and keep 20 in service. So I put us responding and we headed down to the scene. We were there for I would say close to an hour until command released us from the scene. So we left and headed back up to Wal-Mart. I had just parked the rig when the tones went off again for an accident in Schuylkill County in Klingerstown's response district. County said they wanted an ambulance from Company 6. We then herad Northumberland dispatching while Tim talked to Yeager and we never heard Northumberland say Dauphin Company 6 for ALS. So Tim called county and asked if they wanted and ambulance or a medic only and they called back to Northumberland to check and came back and told us ALS only. We told them we were responding and headed up to the scene. Stutzman had called Yeager and gave him directions to relay to us, which Yeager did. I headed towards Gratz and I asked Tim if I was to turn like I was heading to Klingerstown and he said no, Yeager told him to go through Gratz and then turn on Route 125 once we got into Heigins. Well we got all the way up to Heigin's and turned on to 125. Meanwhile Northumberland comes back and tols us that Ambulance 62 was on the scene and was asking for the chopper due to chest and pelvic trauma. So now I picked up the speed a little to try and get to the scene. We had just gotten to the base of the mountain on the other side when county called and said that Schuylkill had called back and said that we missed the turn. So we turned around and then Yeager called and tried giving us directions again and I pulled over. We got the directions and went back over the mountain and back into Heigin's. We then heard Jim and Steve go responding to assist and they went up through Klingerstown. Meanwhile Tim had gotten more directions from Yeager to turn onto Mountain Road once we were in Sacramento. We got into Sacramento and I saw a Monhotango Road and I asked Tim if Yeager met that and he said that he did not know. So we went past it and then I decided to turn around while Tim tried to get ahold of Yeager. I turned on there and we got to the base of another mountain and there was Sacramento's engine sitting so I knew we were in the right place. So they moved the cones and we asked them where the LZ was and they said on the other side of the mountain. We finally got there, but it was one minute after 6-1 got there and the chopper was already there and the flight medics had Pt. care, so we were placed in service. We talked to the crew from 62, mainly so the brakes on 6-8 could cool down and then we left and headed back down to the Eville station. We talked to Yeager and Steve for a little bit and then left and headed back up to Wal-Mart. I got a bottle of windshield washer fluid and then we went back up to Lykens. I put the washer fluid in my car and then put the ALS supplies in the restock cabinet in the day room and then updated the list. I then put in an order of supplies and then laid down on the couch to watch TV. Them around 22:30 hours, my cell phone rang and it was not a number that I recongnized. I answered and a female voice asked if Jesse was there and I said this is him and she said that William Bailey asked me to call you and to hold on one minute. She then put me on hold and patched me into his room. It was such a relief to hear his voice. We talked for close to 20 minutes. He told me that they finally took him off of the Bi-Pap and had him on a regular NRB now and that his Pulse Ox was 90% to 92%. He also told me that they were probally going to move him out of the ICU tomorrow and into a regular room. After I hung up with him I called Bubba and told him and then sent a text message out to everyone that asked to be updated. I then went to sleep around 01:30 hours and woke up at 07:42 hours when the tones went off for a fall victim in Upper Paxton Township. Wertz took the squad on that and I got up and got my stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away. I then grabbed my jacket and scope out of 6-8 and brought them into the day room. John then came in and I gave him the report and then Tim woke up and we talked for about 20 minutes and then I clocked out and then we both left. I headed on down to Eville and once there went inside and logged my time in and then talked to Steve, Tracey, Zach, and Tommy. I then left around 09:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I talked to mom and then I went back to bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon when Bill sent me a text message around 15:50 hours. I got up and then he called me and we talked for about 20 minutes and then I left him go. Bubba then called me and I talked to him for a little bit. I then read the paper and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I am now soon getting ready to head into town to get my hair cut and then when I get home I am going to take a shower and then I am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late then so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

GET BETTER SOON BILL

I was awake for most of the night after I got back from the fire house, thinking about Bill. Bubba then called me around 04:00 hours and told me that he had just gotten off the phone with Bill and he sounded like he was doing better. That finally put my to easy and I went to bed last night around 04:30 hours. I woke up around 08:30 hours when my phone rang and it was Michelle with a phone number for the room that Bill was in. I then called it and a nurse answered and told me that he was on a breathing machine and could not talk. She asked me my name and I told her and she told Bill and I heard him mumble something and she told me that he told her to tell me that he was doing ok. She said to try back in an hour. So I went back to bed and woke up again around 09:45 hours and called down again and the nurse answered again and said that he was still on the machine. She told me that they were going to move him up to the 10th floor, which was the respatory floor once a bed became available. I thanked her and went baqck to sleep and woke up for the final time around 11:45 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 to play the new game I got in the mail, Leisure Suit Larry. I put it in and started playing it and then I noticed that the voices were not matching up with the movement of the mouths. So I restarted the PS2 and it said that it could not read the disc. I was not happy and ended up getting online and ordering another copy to be shipped to me. I then played the hunting game. Sue then called me and told me that they moved Bill to the ICU, but was not able to get anymore info about why they had moved him there. I then ate dinner while I did a few things on the computer. I then left at 18:00 hours and headed up to the fire house to type the donation letter up on the computer for Bubba. I got there and LeeAnn, Bard, Andy, Bubba, and Robby were already there. I then typed the letter up while they washed the Tanker and did some general cleaning of the station. Sue then called me again and told me that they were going to tube Bill tomorrow since he was gettting exhausted from trying to breath and also since he did not like having a mask on his face all the time. I told everyone and then we all left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Boring 24 Hour Shift

I went to bed Saturday night around 02:30 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got up and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade bottles together. I then left the house around 07:30 hours and headed up to Lykens to go to work. I got up there and parked and went inside. John and Kuntz were still asleep. I then went to the bathroom and when I came out I went out to the bay to do my rig check and Tim was already in the back doing his med checks. I started my rig check and when I got to the on-board oxygen, I noticed that the tank was empty. I tapped on the gague incase it was stuck and it still did not move. So I told Tim that we had to head down to Eville because the on-board tank was dead and I needed to put a new one in. He then went in and got John while I finished up my rig check. After I was done, we got in 6-8 and headed on down to Eville. Tim drove while I ate my breakfast. We got down there and I changed out the tanks and then we went into the day room and talked with Jim and Stutzman for a little bit. We then left and headed up to the recycling bins to drop of the cardboard that had been sitting in the bays at Eville. Just before we turned into the plaza, the tones went off for an accident with entrapment in Upper Paxton Township. Jim went responding with the squad and then Pam and Stutzman went responding with 6-3. After we dropped off the cardboard, we decided to head back down to Eville since Jim was on the Millersburg call. Tim than got on the radio and asked county if they knew how many ALS Pt's there were, and they said that they did not know. Jim then told us to head that way class 3 for now until we found out for sure how many there were. So we headed over that way and once Jim got on the scene, he said we could go in service. So we turned around and headed back to the Eville station. We got there and I started going over the BLS Supplies to see what I needed to order when we heard Jim go available from the scene. Me and Tim then got in 6-8 and headed back up to Lykens. Once there Tim backed the truck in and then I decided to hose it down since it was dirty. After that I then did an inventory on the ALS Cabinet. I then ate lunch while I typed up the list for the BLS Closet and the ALS Cabinet. I then checked quite a few things online while Tim slept on the couch and the bottom bunk while watching TV. I was on the computer for quite a long time and I finally got off I think it was around 17:30 hours and I sat down on the couch to watch TV. Around 18:10 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Williams Township. Tim got up and I went out to 6-8 and got in it and started it up awhile. When I saw Tim come out of the door, I put us responding and off we went. We got to the scene first and Williamstown never got out as they had a driver only and no EMT. We got the guy loaded and took him up to Pottsville Good Sam. After we got what we needed there, we stopped at KFC and both got something to eat for dinner and then headed back to Lykens. We stopped at the Tower Mini Mart in Lykens and I got a half gallon of chocolate milk and then we went back to the station. Once I backed the truck in, I went in and sat down on the couch to wacth TV and eat my dinner. I finally went to bed around 13:00 hours. I woke up this morning at 07:50 hours and got up when I heard Jim come in the door. I got the stuff back on my belt and my boots on and then I put my pillow back in my suitcase and got my stuff out of the fridge. John then came in and I told him about the truck and then I left so I could get down to Eville to cover for Zach. I got there and parked and went inside and Steve was getting a cup of coffee and Bruce and Beef were still asleep on the couch's and Kathy was out in the bay doing the rig check on 6-3. I put my lunch box in the fridge and then took the insurance papers up to Wendy so I could ask her a few questions and then hand them in. Bruce and Beef then woke up and started moving around. I was back in the day room when I heard a knock on the doro and I answered it and it was Bruce with his application. He asked if Steve was in and I told him to come in and I took him into Steve's office and introduced him. Bruce gave Steve his application and then Steve told me to give him the tour of the station and the rigs. Since Bruce does not have EVOC, we can't hire him just yet. However, I talked to Steve about having him observe me for a few shifts so we can get him in the back and get him used to wroking with his skills. So I talked to Bruce and he was cool with that. I talked to him a little bit more and then he left since he was working at 9 later on that afternoon. By that time Beef and Jim had finished making breakfast for everyone and I had 5 pancakes and a sasuage. I then went back to going through the BLS supplies and the ALS supplies to see what I needed to order. I then went in Steve's office to go over the list with him when the tones went off for breathing problems in Washington Township. Me and Kathy got in 6-3 and Beef got in 6-1 and off we went. We got there and ended up calling for 21 to come in class 3 for lifting assistance since we could not get the stretcher into the house and she was a pretty big lady. Once we got her out and loaded into 6-3, Beef and Kathy took her down to Holy Spirit Hospital and I took 6-1 back to the station. I was back at the station for only a little bit when the tones went off for chest pains in Williamstown. Jim and John went responding and took that call. Then about 30 minutes later, I heard Chief 20-B call county and ask for an ambulance and a medic to be dispatched to the Brubaker Tool Company for chest pains and heart problems. ( I just found out about 20 minutes ago that this was Kim Matter that they took down to the hospital and that he was in A-Fib). I then ate lunch and Zach finally got there around 13:45 hours. I talked to him for a little bit and then clocked out and left and headed on home. Once at home I changed and then read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things and eat dinner. I then went up to the fire house around 18:30 hours for the meeting tonight. The meeting lasted under 1 hour and then we stayed around and shot the shit and then we all headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then sat down to watch the BCS Championship Game. Around 22:00 hours Sue sent me a text that Bill has not been feelign well the past 3 days and that 13 might be taking him down to the hospital tonight. At 22:53 hours, Amanda called my cell and told me that they were going for Bill and dispatching fire. I got dressed and then woke my father up and told him that 13 was going for Bill and that they were calling for fire and then I grabbed my keys and left the house. I was just turning onto Enders Road when County finally dispatched us and I parked my car at the station just as the house siren was starting it's second evolution. I ran inside and turned the lights on and went to my stall and kicked off my shoes. I then got my pants on and grabbed my jacket and helmet and opened the bay door for the Engine as I ran over to it. I threw my jacket and helmet in the front seat and went to the driver's side and unplugged the Engine and started it up and then got in the officers seat. I then saw my father coming running over and get in the driver's seat of the Engine. He asked me if anyone else was coming and I told him to give it a few minutes and at that time LeeAnn pulled in. I told him to pulled the Engine out awhile and close the bay door. I rolled the window down then and yelled to LeeAnn to hurry up that it was Bill we were going for. She ran over and got in and then I saw Jason turn down the alley so I told my father to hang tight. Jason parked and ran inside and got his pants on and when he came out of the station I yelled to him to hurry up that it was Bill. He got in and I put us responding and off we went. I had the button for the Q down hard from the time we left he station until we got out onto 225. We got there and we got Bill to put the NRB on and breath in the oxygen and we also got him to slow his breathing down before he passed out. We then got him loaded into the unit and then 6-3 showed up. I went over and told Beef that it was Bill while my father grabbed the med bag and the monitor out of the unit and took them to 13-2. Once they got things hooked up to him they took him to Harrisburg Hospital. I then took 6-3 into the ambulance shed and Dave picked me up and ran me back out to the station. We talked for a little bit and then we all headed on home. I am soon going to bed now as I am really tired.

First Full Time Shift

I went to bed Thursday night at 03:00 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my lunch and Gatorade together. I then got in my car and left and headed up to Lykens to go to work. I got there and parked and then took my stuff inside. Yeager and Tracey were sleeping on the couch and Tim was already there and was putting bar-b-que sauce in a crockpot on the counter. I put my lunch box and Gatoade bottles in the fride and my suitcase behind the one couch and clocked in. Yeager and Tracey then woke up and started getting their stuff together. Yeager then told me how 6-5 was. I then went out and did a rig check on 6-5. Tracey and Yeager then left. I told Tim that I wanted to eventually go down to Eville, but I wanted to do it after I went through the BLS closet and re-organized it and did my date check on 6-8. I went through the closet first and wrote down what all I needed to get and then went through 6-8 and did date checks on everything. We then got in 6-5 and headed on down to Eville. We got there and I parked out back and went inside. Steve was there and Wertz was shinning his boots and Stutzman was sitting on the couch. I put the outdated stuff in the box in the med room and then Steve showed me how to do the ordering of supplies on the three companies websites that we use. He also sent me the email with the passwords for the compaines in it to me. I then talked to Wendy about health insurance and she gave me the paperwork to fill out. The tones then went off for a call in Halifax that Stutzman and Wertz went on. Steve then showed me some more stuff on ordering and we ordered some supplies. I then got the supplies I needed for up in Lykens and it ended up filling two boxes. I then put the boxes in the back of 6-5 and went back inside the station and the tones went off for a Laceration in Wiconisco Township. Steve told me to grab Stutzman and take 6-3 and take the call, that way Tim could stay available incase we got another call. I got my jacket and scope out of 6-5 and grab Stutzman and told him we were taking the call and got in 6-3 and we took off. We got up there and the guy only wanted us to check his foot out where his cat bit him. I checked it while Stutzman got the vitals and then I put a 4x4 on the site and we got a refusal on him. We then went available and then Tim called me and asked if we could pick up the crockpot from the Lykens Station and bring it and the buns he got down to Eville. So we stopped and grabbed the crock pot and headed on down to Eville. We got back to Eville and I took the crock pot into the kitchen. I then did my chart on the refusal. I then talked to Steve about getting me access to the med room and he reprogramed my badge so that I can do so. I then had 3 chicken bar-b-que sandwiches for lunch while Tim slept on the one couch. Wertz then got back and Tim then talked to Steve about setting up the new ALS bag for in Lykens and Steve agreed with what Tim wanted to do. I then put the new bag in the back of 6-5 and we left and headed back up to Lykens. We got there and backed in and Tim went to work on moving everything over from the old Bag A to the new Bag A while I restocked the BLS closet and did an inventory of it. I then started to do an inventor on the ALS cabinet when the tones went off for breathing problems in Lykens Borough at the Family Practice. Me and Tim got in 6-5 and off we went. The building is just down the street from the station. We got there and got the lady loaded up and took her down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We stopped at Eville so Tum could get restocked and I grabbed Tube Tamers for in the ALS Cabinet up in Lykens. While we were there, the tones went off for a call in Millersburg that Stutzman and Wertz took. Tim then grabbed his crock pot and we left and headed bacl up to Lykens. I backed 6-5 in and we went into the day room and I had just taken my jacket off when the tones went off for chest pains in Halifax Township. Me and Tim got back in 6-5 and off we went. I made pretty good time, but 13 cancelled us as we were coming up to the second Faust farm. Right after they cancelled us, County dispatched an accident with injuries on top of Peters Mountain. County asked us for our location and Tim told them 2 miles South of Eville. He really should have said 3 miles North of Fisherville. They just said ok. I asked Tim if he wanted me to turn around at Gonder's or to keep heading towards Halifax, and he told me to keep going. He then called County and asked them if they wanted us to contiune in to the scene of the accident. They said that they had dispatched Perry 29, but they had not gone responding yet. They then went responding and County asked us if we could divert to another class 1 call in Upper Paxton Township. Tim said yes and I turned the lights on and took off. We were just outside of Fisherville when this call came in. It was at SLV for an unconscious person. We got there and it ended up not being an unconscious person, but Tim decided to tech it anyway and we got the lady loaded and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. As I backed into the hospital, the lady vomited all over the place. I got the stretcher cleaned up and after we got what we needed, we headed on back. We again stopped at Eville so Tim could get restocked and then we talked to Steppler for a little bit and then we left and headed back up to Lykens. Once at Lykens, I put the DVD I took up with me in and watched that while I ate dinner. I then got on the computer to check a few things and then I finally went to sleep at 01:00 hours. I woke up this morning at 07:50 hours and got everything back on my belt and got my boots on. Jim then came in and I took my lunch box and Gatorade bottles out to my car and John pulled in as I was walking back to go in the station. I told him about the truck while I put my pillow back in my suitcase and then I clocked out. I left there around 08:30 hours and headed on down to Eville to pick up my check and insurance paperwork. After I picked that up I headed on home. Once at home I changed and went to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 12:40 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. Me and my mother then went over the insurance papers and she helped me fill them out since I had no idea what I was doing. I then got on the computer and played the Sims. I then ate dinner while I got on the PS2 and played the hunting game. I then got off around 20:00 hours and took a shower. I am now eating a snack and getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Frequent Flyer

Went to bed last night at 03:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:35 hours. I got out of bed and got dressed and then read the paper. I then ate lunch while I watched All My Children on TV. I then got on the PS2 to play the hunting game that my father got for Christmas. Dinner was almost ready when the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Township. It was one of our frequent flyers again that we just took down two weeks ago. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Dohn was already there. I parked and went inside and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and Alf and Kim were already there. Wertz then showed up and I told him what we had and he set up in the bus. We then got him out and into the ambulance and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Kim had taken the squad back to our station and parked it inside to keep it warm. So we got back to the station and Wertz unloaded all of his stuff and lef. I then logged my times in and then did the paperwork from the call. While I was doing my tripsheet, Amanda dropped Sue off and then went to the gym. I talked to Sue while I did my tripsheet. I talked to her a little bit and then Amanda got back and I talked to both of them for a little bit and then I left to head out to the fire house to talk with Bubba and Robby. I was there for about 1-1/2 hours and then headed on home. Once at home I finally got to eat dinner and am soon going to go take a shower and then probally going to bed.

2008

I left he house yesterday afternoon around 16:00 hours and headed up to the fire house. I stopped at the hall and dropped off my mother's fudge and my bottle of Sparkling Grape Juice. I then ran into town. I stopped at the Beer Distributor and picked up a case of Miller Lite for Jess and a case of Yuneling Lager for Troy. I then ran up to Giant and picked up two packs of hot dog buns and hamburger buns and a small jar of peanut butter. I then left and headed back to the station. I stopped at the station and picked up my case of Coors Light and the box in the fridge that had the misc. alcohol in it. I then drove my car around to the front of the hall so I could unload the stuff. As I got out of my car, Jason pulled in and we talked while he took his stuff in and I took my stuff in. I then grabbed a beer while Jason cut up his deer balonge. Kenny then came in, followed by Katina, and then Jess popped in with a case of Coors Light also and talked for a little bit before she went down to the house. LeeAnn then came in and then Bill, and then finally Troy. I finished my first beer and then had my second beer and finished that when my mother called and said my father was on his way up with the bar-b-que. I told her ok and that I would meet him outside. I met him and brought it in and put it in the one roaster that we had sitting out. Troy then turned some music on and then we sat down to play a game of Phase 10. After that was over, we decided to play hand and foot. I decided to go grab something to eat while we played. Lonny then came in, followed by Dave, Holly and the baby. We contiuned to play cards until well after midnight. Bill left first because his foot was bothering him. Dave and Holly then left, followed by Lonny. Luke then showed up, followed by Lyle. Then Helen and her boyfriend Jesse showed up. We wrapped things up around 01:30 hours and got the hall cleaned up since it was rented today. Overall I lost count of how many beers I had, but I think it was around 10 to 11. Helen and Jesse left first and went over to her house. We then sat around and shot the shit. Jason and Katina left next. LeeAnn was the next one to leave. Luke then left around 03:30 hours, which left myself, Jess, Troy and Lyle. All four of us then left at 04:30 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I put the stuff away and then I got on the computer to do a few things. Since I had been coughing all night, I decided to take some cough syrup with codine in it. I then went to bed around 05:10 hours. I was only in bed for about 20 minutes when the fire pager went off for the Tanker to assist on a working structure fire in Millersburg. I got out of bed and got dressed and my father was getting dressed also. I went out to get in my car and he told me to wait so he could come with me since I was parked in front of him. Relucantly, I did and he got in and off we went. As I started my car, Warren was backing out of his driveway, so I followed him until the left hand turn in Fisherville where we went straight. We pulled in and the Tanker was already out and my father ran over and got in and I went in the station to wait. They then dispatched the Engine in place of Engine 20. I kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and then opened up the bay door for the Engine and started the Engine as the house siren was going off. They ended up canceling us. Dave walked in shortly after I shut the Engine off and I took my bunker pants off. Then Lonny came in, followed by Jason, and then Kenny. We all kind of sat there and stared at each other until Dave got up and left. A few minutes later, Ray pulled in and came in and we talked for a little bit until we heard them holw the box to Companies 20 and 21. We then waited around until the Tanker got back and then we shot the shit and I filled out the first fire report for 2008. We then talked a little bit more and then we all left and headed on home. Once at home I changed back into my pj's and went back to bed. They went down to the grandparents house for New Year's Day dinner today. I got up this evening at 18:00 hours when the Tuesday night tone test went off. I got out of bed and took a shower and then read the paper. I then ate dinner while I played on the PS2. I then got off and got on the computer to do a few things while I watched the Hawaii/Georgia Sugar Bowl Game. Georgia won, and I was hoping Hawaii would have, but that is the way the football tumbles. I am soon going to bed then as I am tired.
