Subs, Subs and more Subs

I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this afternoon around 12:30 hours when the pager went off for breathing problems in Halifax Borough. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Carol already had 13-1 pulled out. I parked and got in and off we went. It was for one of our frequent flyers again. We got there and Dohn was already there. When I got out, Scott pulled in and 6-2 was coming down the street also. We got him loaded up and I drove down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We dropped the medic off at his squad and then went back to the shed. Once there I logged my time in and then left and headed up to Giant. As I walked out of the shed, Sue sent me a text asking me where I was and I told her. She then called me and we talked for close to 30 minutes. She asked me if I was going past Giant or not and I said I was actually going there myself. She asked me if I could pick up a box of popsicles and a gallon of Iced Tea for her and sit it outside her front door as she did not want me coming into the house and getting the flu. I said that was not a problem and picked up the stuff for her and took it over to her house and sat it outside the front door and then left and headed on home. I talked to her until I got home and then I changed into street clothes and then cleaned out the bottom of my closet and got rid of a lot of old boxes that I no longer need. I then ate dinner while I watched TV. The EMS pager was going off like crazy. Around 15:30 hours, it went off for a fall victim I believe it was in Halifax Township. Then around 16:00 hours it went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. Medic 6 ended up taking that one as 20 was out and we had no second crew. Then around 17:15 hours it went off for an unconscious person in Halifax Township. 20 ended up taking that call and 6 came down as ALS. Then around 17:25 hours, it went off for breathing problems in Jackson Township. They had Williamstown coming down for BLS and Perry Medic 81 coming over for ALS. I got my shoes on and headed up to the fire house awhile to go help make subs. While I was on my way up, I called Scott and asked him if he knew what was all going on and he said yes. I then asked him if he knew that 24 was coming down as BLS and he said yes. I suggested to him about dispatching 216 for a medical assist since EMS had an extended eta and he said that he would do that. Just as I was turning into the parking lot, the pager went off for a medical assist. I parked and as I got out I saw Troy coming running down from the hall and then Bubba come out of the back. I went into the station and LeeAnn was right behind and then Robby came running in. I took my job sweat off and threw it on top of the fridge and then kicked my shoes off into my stall and got my bunker pants on and then grabbed my jacket and helmet and ran over and opened the right jump seat door and let LeeAnn get in and then I got in. Troy got in the left jump seat, Robby was in the officers seat and Bubba was driving. Kenny was also getting his gear on as was Lonny, so we had them bring the Utility. My father then pulled in and he followed in his truck. We got there and Jason Faust was already there and had us pull off onto the right side of the road and back into the drive way. We all got out and that was when we found out it was across the road. So Bubba told us to get back in and we would drive over. As we pulled out, we heard the Wheel Chock hit the road and then a big bump as it had fallen off and I think we might have run over it. We got over there and walked inside and Tracey was a little surprised to see us there. He asked that only I stay in there so that the living room would not be over crowded. I then asked for my father to come in and then we helped Tracey. I wrote meds down while my father helped him with the IV and blood tubes. 24 then showed up and we got them loaded up and then I drove the squad back to our station. I then went inside and took my gear off and then went over to see why Bubba had backed the Engine in off center. I found out it was to work on the compartment, as it had slightly bent the the bottom of it and the bottom of the compartment door. Bubba used the sledge hammer to fix the bottom and then a rubber mallet to fix the door as much as we could. Troy then went under to fix the bracket that holds the wheel chock and then he moved the Engine out and I backed the Utility in and he backed the Engine in. I then watched Bubba put the report in so I can learn to do them then. I then went up to the hall and got a piece of cake and went down and sat with Jess, Troy, LeeAnn, and Kenny and then Holly came down and we got talking about the hall and fund raisers. I then got my 13 subs and headed over to Kim's house and dropped off her subs, then went to Scott's house and dropped his subs off. I then went over to Sue's house to drop there subs off. Her and Bob were upstairs and then Amanda came down and paid me and we got talking about a bunch of things. I then left and headed back to the station. When I got there, Holly was the only person left and she was just getting ready to leave. I went inside and got the rest of my subs and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I have to work today at Medic 6.
