My Daily Thoughts
Tuesday, April 29, 2008
I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 09:10 hours when the pager went off for an unknown problem in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into town. I called Carol and told her to pick me up in front of Bubba's house in town. I parked in the church parking lot and then went over in front of Bubba's house and Carol picked me up in 13-2 and we continued on into the scene. We got there and PSP was there along with the Pt's care giver. The care giver was talking to PSP when we pulled in. The garage door then opened and the four of us went in. This was the house of one of our frequent flyers. When we went in, she did nor turn the alarm off, so that started going off. The freaking alarm was so loud and the lady was not with it to tell us how to turn it off. The trooper finally hit the off button to silence the alarm, but it was still armed. We started talking to her and came to the conclusion that she had a low blood sugar. The care giver had been there less then a week and was not allowed to check her blood sugar. I went out to the unit and had county dispatch ALS for diabetic problems. I then went back inside. I then went back out to get the pulse ox and 6-3 pulled in with Jim, Shultz and the new guy on it. Jim went in and checked her blood sugar and it was 50. He gave her some oral glucose and she started coming around and then ate the cereal that was sitting on her stand. She then ate the breakfast that her care giver brought her. The trooper then left and Jim checked her blood sugar one more time and it was 96. After he talked to medical command at Harrisburg Hospital, we got a refuasl and left. I got dropped off at the church and got my car and headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 to play some GTA Liberty City Stories. I got off at 17:28 hours and finished the story of the game, again. I will now move back and starts GTA Vice City Stories over again and take it from there on my quest to redo every game that was on the memory card that I lost all the data on. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things online. I am covering for Alf tonight so he can take care of some personel things. I am getting ready to go take a shower and then am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Very Slow Sunday at Medic 6
I went to bed Saturday night around 00:56 hours as I was falling asleep sitting at the computer. I woke up Sunday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got dressed and then grabbed my suitcase and camera and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and grabbed my three Gatorade bottles and then got in my car and left the house at around 07:30 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I got up there and parked and went inside and put my suitcase on the couch and then went back out and got my lunchbox and Gatorade bottles and put them in the fridge. I then clocked in. John was sleeping on the couch and then Zach came out of one of the bunk rooms. There was no medic in Eville Saturday night, so Zach and Kunst came down to Eville to make a BLS truck and a Squad. Matt Smith then showed up and I told him that unofficially I am Firefighter 1 certified. Tim then showed up and we got talking about Stutzman being by himself up in Lykens and about him coming down. Zach made the comment about why not send Matt up to Lykens with Stutzman to make a BLS truck and me and Tim make a MICU. Matt then left and headed up to Lykens. I then did a rig check and then ate breakfast while I filled out the paperwork on the computer. I then checked a few things online. Then around 10:00 hours the tones went off for a sick person class 2 in Wayne Township. Stutzman and Matt took that call. I then went out into the day room and Tim was setting up his laptop. He then pulled out what looked like a remote controller and hooked it up to his laptop. By this time Kuntz was up and out of the BLS room/Woman's Bunk Room and was watching the game Tim was playing on his laptop. It was a RealFlight G4 game, A RC simulator. He can fly planes and choppers with the contorller. I watched him for a little bit and then he let me try. I played around with it until around 11:50 hours and then I stopped to take a break and eat lunch. I just sat down and took everything out of my lunch box when the tones went off for chest pains in Williamstown Borough. We got in 6-3 and off we went. We met 24-1 on the scene and Tim got on and started assessing the lady. While we were there the tones went off again for a pregancy in Lykens Borough. Stutzman and Matt handeled that call. Tim ended up going down to Harrisburg with 24-1. I stopped at the Lykens station and picked up a pager battery for my pager since there were no good ones down at Eville. I also got the narc numbers off the narcs in the spare med bag in the cabinet. I then headed back on down to the Eville station. Once there I ate lunch and then went back to trying my hand at flying planes and choppers again. Tim then called and said that 6-5 arrived at Harrisburg Hospital at the same time as 24-1 and he was going to catch a ride back with them. They got back around 13:30 hours and I helped Tim restock his supplies and talked to Matt and Stutzman. I also checked supplies and put a small order in also. Tim then went back to practicing flying and then we headed up to "The Wing Company" inside the miniture golf course by the bowling alley. I grabbed something small to eat and Tim got something to eat and we headed back to the station. Once there we both ate while we watched TV. I then popped in Dics 3 of Season 3 of Emergency and we watched an episode. We then took a break and Tim went back to flying again. He then went and finished his paperwork from the Williamstown call while I went back to flying some more. Stutzman then called around 19:30 hours and said that Wertz was now here and Matt was heading on home, so now there were a MICU. I then emptied the trash cans and then took the dumpster out front and went back inside. We then sat back down and watched another episode of Emergency. When that was over, Tim talked about going up to Koppy's. He then went back to flying for about another 30 minutes. We then left and headed up to Koppy's. He got some more smokes and I got some popcorn chicken for dinner along with some chips and a half gallon of Guers Orange Drink. We then headed on back to the station. I was just getting ready to sit down to eat when the tones went off for a CVA in Halifax Township. I grabbed my dinner and put it in the truck as I would eat it while I sat at Sheetz and waited for Tim to come back. We got there and got the lady loaded up and then I followed 13-2. Alf and Amanda were the on duty crew. As we were coming into town, I heard county call 13-2 and ask if they had a second crew and Alf said we should. They then dispatched a class 3 abdominal pains call to Alf's house. As we turned onto Market Street I heard Alf get on Med 9 and ask what was going on at his house. County told him to switch to Channel 2. I switched to see if I could hear but heard nothing. I then switched back to Med 9 in time to hear Alf call me and tell me to pull into the parking lot of Jelly Bean Junction. I parked and he jumped out and came over and said that I was taking 13-2 down as it was Kim and he was heading back home. I shut everything down as he said someone was picking him up and running him out home. I then jumped in 13-2 and off we went. Wertz then called me and asked me what was going on with 13 and I told him. Amanda then asked me to call Sue and let her know it was Kim. So I called Sue's cell phone and it went to her voice mail, so I hung up. Schoffstall then called me and asked me if the ambulance had a call and I said yeah at Alf's house and that it was Kim. My phone then started beeping and I saw that Sue was calling so I told Schoffstall I had to go. I then answered and told Sue that Amanda wanted me to call her and tell her that it was Kim. I then told her that I Alf got off and I was now driving 13-2 down to Harrisburg Hospital. She said that her and Kenny were going to head out to the scene and hung up. When I got on Front Street, Sue called me again and said that her and Kenny were now heading back into the "Barn" as she was going to drive 13-2 down so Dohn could go home and Carol was in the back. I guess Alf got in 13-1 and went down with her. After I hung up with Sue, I called Scott to see how Kim was doing and ask him who was driving home and he said that Amanda could drive home. We then got down to the hospital and it was packed and again with only one slot open and it was the far right slot, the one where I hit the wall a few weeks ago backing in. The unit from 9 then pulled out andI backed into there. After we got what we needed andI cleaned up the back of 13-2, 13-1 then pulled in and everyone went to see how Kim was doing. We then left and Amanda drove back with Tim up front and me and Sue in the back. Me and Sue talked on the way home. We stopped at Sheetz so Tim could get a cup of coffee. Amanda then dropped us off at our unit and we moved all the gear over to 6-3 and then we headed on back. I ate my popcorn chicken on the way back. We got back and I helped Tim restock his gear and then I put my DVD away and set up camp on the couch and turned on the Discovery Channel. I then went to sleep around 01:30 hours. I woke up this morning at 07:55 hours when Beef came in. Wendy then came in from the front and then John and Kathy then came in. I got my stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and then grabbed my stuff out of 6-3 and the fridge. Steve then showed up and I told him about the pager batteries and he gave me two more to set out, which I did. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 13:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played some GTA Liberty Stories. I then got off at 17:00 hours and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things online. I am soon getting ready to take a shower and then am going to check the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

The Day From Hell
I went to bed last night around 00:30 hours and woke up this morning around 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then grabbed the three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that I made last night and the three bottles of Gatorade that I bought and brought up a cooler and an ice snake from the freezer downstairs and put them in there. I then left and headed up to the fire house. I got there and Troy, Lonny and LeeAnn were already there. I took my cooler inside and put it in the front seat of the Utility. I then heard Bubba talking up front. I then grabbed my gear and put it in the back of the Utility. Bubba then gave Robby a beep to make sure he was up and Robby came over 3 minutes later. We then loaded up and headed into town. Robby rode with me in the Utility and Troy drove the Engine and Bubba, Lonny and LeeAnn went with him. We stopped at Shell and I got a bottles of water and a few snacks to take down to munch on during breaks. We then left and headed on down to HACC. We got down there and parked and then got our gear on and grabbed our SCBA's and headed over to the apparatus bay. There we got our running cards and our team numbers and went off with an evaulator to do our SCBA check and 60 second donning. Robby went first and then I went next. I thought I did good on the check but was unsure about the 60 seconds. We then went back to the apparatus bay and were told to head down to the pavailion. We went over to the Utility and Robby grabbed the cooler and we headed on over to the pavailion. I then ran back to Rusty's truck and grabbed the truck belt and headed back to the pavilion. We then headed over to hose advancment. We geared up and then had to take off the 2-1/2" and 1-1/2" and take a 50' section off and repack the 150' crosslay. I then took the nozzle on the 2-1/2" and we went up the interior stairwell and then after we did that we broke it down and then Robby took the nozzle on the 1-1/2" amd went up the ladder and I then came up and helped him flake the hose off and then we took the line down the interior stairs to the first floor. Before we entered the first floor I had to take a few minutes to catch my breath and then we went. As soon as Robby shut the line down, both him and the evaulator told me to get out and get my pack and jacket off and sit down. I ended up going back over to the pavailion to get some rehab and once I felt ready to go, we went back over and did standpipe connections and fire streams. We then went back over to the pavilion and I took a 10 minute break and then we went over and did rope inspection and forceable entry. After that we went back over and I took a 5 minute break and then we were sent over to the replacement of busted hose line. We then headed back and I took another 10 minute break and then we went over and did ground ladders and then did portable lighting and went back to the pavilion. At this point I layed down on the concrete as the air was cooler down there. After I took about a 20 minute break, we did pump connections and then went back over and I took another 20 minute break as it was now really hot out and I was getting tired. We then did the maze and we were done, and just had to wait for our results. I passed my written with a 74% and I passed all of my skill stations except the SCBA check and the 60 second donning. I re did them and failed again and retook them the thrid time and passed both of them the third time. I was the only one out of the 6 of us to pass completely. Myself, Bubba, and Lonny all passed the written test. Myself, Robby and Troy all passed the physical part of it. Lonny has to do the maze again. LeeAnn has to retake the SCBA check, 60 second donning and Ground Ladders. Bubba has to retake the SCBA check, 60 second donning, Ground ladders, and the maze. Robby retested SCBA check, 60 second donning and Hose Advancment. Lonny did his SCBA check and 60 second donning today and Troy did his SCBA check. Once Robby was done we slowly started loading all the gear up and we headed on back up through. We stopped at Station 29 and got the cylinders refilled and then stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headd back to the station. Once back at the station, Kenny had gone to open up the bay door for the Engine and it would not open up. After we all ogt off the turcks and looked at it and Robby took the cover off the motor off, we figured that the motor finally took a shit on us. We then opened the door manaully and I backed the Utility in and Troy backed the Engine in. I sat my cooler in the back and then put my gear over in my stall and then cleaned up my mask. Robin had Jean make up a banner that said congrautlations and had all of our names on the banner. Robin went up to Wal-Mart and got a cake and had them put all of our names on it. And then they got a card and everyone from the Fire Company that was at the hall signed the card. We all then went up to the hall and got something to eat and then I headed on home. Once at home I laid down on my bed to relax and then Jess called and asked if I could come up and take a look at Kenny's ankle since Helen thought he sprained it but wanted a second opinion. I ran up and checked it and agreed that he probally sprained it. I then headed on home and laid back down in bed to relax. I then realzied I left my running card in the Utility. So I ran back up there and got that and then came home and took a shower. I am soon going to bed now as I am tired.

Firefighter 1 Written Exam
I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 12:00 hours when the fire pager went off for a natural cover fire, now reported out in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then jumped in my car and headed up to the fire house. Alf went responding and said he thought it was a 29-2 box due to how the caller was giving information to county. It ended up actually being a 216-1 box. I followed Ray up there and we pulled in together and I ran inside and kicked my shoes off and got my pants on and grabbed my jacket and helmet and headed over to the Engine. Lonny already had the Engine pulled out and Troy was already there also. As I was heading out to the Engine, Schoffstall was coming into grab his gear. I got in and then Schoffstall got in and Troy said about Jason coming also. I said that Ray was here also and Troy said to hand Jason's gear out. Brush 29 then went responding and Alf held the Box to Brush 29 and placed everyone else in service. Everyone slowly started leaving and then I went over a few knots with Troy and Lonny. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then had my mother quiz me on questions for the Firefighter written test tonight. I then left the house at 16:45 hours and headed up to the fire house. Troy took his truck down and Bubba, LeeAnn and Lonny went with him. I drove down and Robby went with me. We all stopped at Shell and I got something to drink and munch on and then we continued on down to HACC. We got down there and then got situated in the room and the guy from HACC went over what was all going to happen. I think I did well on the written test. We then all talked once we were done and then left and headed on home. Once back at the station we talked some more about the questions on the test. I then left and headed into town. I ran up to Sheetz and grabbed something to eat for dinner. Matt Smith was there with 6-3 waiting for Tim to get back. After I came out I talked to both Matt and Tim as Tim had just gotten back from running a call with 20. I then stopped at Giant and picked up 3 bottles of Gatorade and a small jar of peanut butter to make a few sandwichs for tomorrow. I then headed on home. I am soon going to bed as I have to get up early tomorrow.

Thermometer is Almost Done
I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this morning around 11:05 hours. I got out of bed and changed into old street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. While I was eating lunch, my mother came home from her doctors appointment in Harrisburg. I then left the house around 12:15 hours and headed on up to the fire house. I called Holly while on my way up and told her about my hair dresser doing a poster ad. I got up there and Bubba was pulling the lawn mower out of the old fire house to mow his lawn. I parked and put the poster ad on the board up in the kitchen in the hall and then went down to the old fire house and painted on the red letters on the thermometer. Katina showed up while I was painting on the red and she did the yellow. Bubba then came back up with the mower and parked it outside so it would be out of our way. Katina then painted on the black while I took out the old indian rake handles off the Utility and out the new ones on. I then went back over to see how Katina was doing and she was just finishing up putting a second coat on the red letters. We then talked a little and then Katina had to go run a few erands for her mother. I went into the fire station and looked through the Isfta Essentials 4 manual. I then went down and took the tape off and Troy showed up and then Katina came back as I was touching up some of the white and red paint on the thermometer. I then helped put stuff away and then headed on home. Once at home I changed clothes and ate a small dinner and then left around 17:40 hours to head on down to the County Comm Center. I stopped at Shell and got a half gallon of Guers Orange Drink. I then ran over to Sheetz and got 5 chicken strips to eat and then headed on down through. Training was good. While class was going on, Alf, who was also in the class, sent me a text that I was missing a call for a LZ. After training was over I left and headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at the fire house to get the info from the call for thw website. Katina, LeeAnn and Andy were there and we got talking. Troy then showed up for a little bit and then left. I left around 23:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Kathy Killed 6-5
I left the house around 19:07 hours and headed on up to Lykens to go to work. I stopped at Tower Mini Mart and got something to munch on later that night and then headed over to the station. I parked and remembered that the station is used as a voting place and all the trucks were out. I took my stuff insidie and put my stuff in the fridge and then clocked in. I got on the computer to check a few things and then Bowser and Zach walked in. They had just gotten back from helping at the bus accident in Millersburg. Bowser started telling me about the call and then the tones went off around 19:45 hours for breathing problems in Lykens Borough at the Rattaling Creek Apartments. We got in 6-5 and headed on down there/ We got there and got the lady loaded up and Bowser was concered about a blood clot in the lung. So he had me start towards Hershey, class 2 and then he called down to medical command at Hershey and asked them about maybe flying her out and he agreed and the LZ was set up at Station 29. We got there and turned the lady over to the flight crew and then left and headed back up to Eville to restock. Once there, I checked the supplies and helped restocl 6-5. Bowser was uploading his chart when the tones went off for a call in Lykens Borough again. Tim and Bruce were already out on a call in Northumberland County. We went responding and it was a class 1 call. We got there and got the guy loaded up and took him up to Pottsville General. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at the Sheetz outside of Pottsville and me and Bowser got something to eat and drink. We then headed on back to Lykens. Once there I placed a quick order and filled out my rig check sheet while Bowser restocked what he used. I then laid down on the couch and turned on Deadlest Catch to watch. I then munched on my snack while I watched the new episode. I then went to sleep at 02:00 hours. Around 07:00 hours the tones went off for a call at 149 Dusty Trail Road in Halifax Township. The Eville crew took that call and we went back to bed. I got up at 08:00 hours and got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away. Kathy then showed up and I told her everything that was wrong with 6-5, from the speedometer going crazy, to the ABS light coming on while we were going to Pottsville, to the possible alternator problem. I then told her all the dates and levels of the unit. I then clocked out and left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into old street clothes and then ate breakfast while I read the paper. I then left the house at 10:00 hours and headed up to the fire house. Once there I opened up the old fire house and got stuff ready to put the first coat of white paint on the thermometer. I put the first coat on and let it dry. I went in the fire house and relaxed in the one chair. I then grabbed the little giant and set it up in the old fire house to see what was up on the second floor. I stuck my head up and saw something towards the front that I wanted to get a closer look at. I decided to wait until Katina got there to hold the ladder for me. I then put my second coat on and as I finished, Katina showed up. She then put a coat of red on the bulb of the thermometer. I then had her hold the ladder while I went up to the second floor to take a look up front. I found three boxes of old trophies, 4 of the old Scott SCBA's in the hard cases and 7 or 8 of the old hard plastic fire helmets. I brought one of them down with me and cleaned it up. I had put an order in with Pizza Delight for delivery before I went up and as I was cleaning the helmet, they showed up with my food. I then finsihed cleaning the helmet and hung it on a hanger in my stall for now until I can find a good place for it where it is out of the way. I then ate my lunch, chicken tenders and fries. I then called the guy from Univex and left him a voice mail. We then went down and took the tape off anf decided to let it dry before we started taping up around the letters and hash marks and thermometer for painting later on today. Troy and Kenny then showed up and helped with the taping. I then left at 17:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I changed shirts and then ate the 4 slices of pizza I got from pizza delight for dinner. I then left at 17:40 hours and headed on up to Eville to go to the staff meeting. I was done there by 19:00 hours and left and headed on back down to the fire hall for bingo. Bingo went good and I left there around 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a bath so I could soak my right ankle some and I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

One Side Done
I went to bed last night at 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 10:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into old street clothes. I then read the paper and then ate lunch while I watched some TV. I then left the house at 11:28 hours and headed up to the township building to vote. I voted and then left and headed on down to the fire house. One my way down, I gave Katina a call and left a message on her cell phone that I was heading to the fire house. I got there and parked and then took some pictures of the potato peeler and the disc. I then grabbed the green painters tape and then started taping off the letters so that I could paint them. Katina then showed up and brought over the paint and brushes and smoe more tape and she started taping around the yellow hash marks so she could paint them. She painted them and I painted the letters red. We then went over to the fire house and I got on the computer so I could make up the bingo sheets for Katina. Troy then showed up and then we went back over to theck on the thermometer. I put a second coat of red on the letters and Troy helped Katina tape up around the black outline and then she painted that. Troy then got the pressure washer out as Bubba was coming back with the Tanker. He then cleaned the cab up some but said he was not going to wash it as he just got a call to do another pool. Jaz then got home from school and Bubba and Troy went down to get her and then she went with them to the next pool. Meanwhile, me, Katina, and Kenny had gone down to the old fire house to check on the paint. It was tacky, but dry enough to take the tape off. We then flipped the sign over so I could start painting it tomorrow when I get off of work. I then pulled the Utility out and Kenny helped me wash it since it was dusty from Saturday's natural cover fire. LeeAnn then showed up as I was finishing up and I left and headed on home. I am eating dinner now and then am going to take a shower and then leave and head to Lykens to go to work.

The meeting went good. After the meeting was over, Katina went down and put a second coat of red paint on the thermometer and then her and me removed the masking tape from what we had taped up, minus where she had just painted, incase it needed a third coat later on today. I then left there around 22:25 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Accident with Injuries
I went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and got up this morning around 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into old street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then left the house around 13:00 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and parked and Troy, Katina, and LeeAnn were already there. We got talking and Katina said that her and LeeAnn were getting ready to paint the bottom of the one table in the station. So we went in and I watched them paint the bottom of the table. When I left the house it was just starting to rain. While they were painting, the rain picked up and they told me to go up to the hall and put a trash can under the leak in the roof, especially since the hall was rented for a birthday party. Troy then went up to the hall. He came back down and then Kenny came walking in shortly after him. Troy made the comment about heading home to get a shower and take a nap. Katina told him not to go to far as she was predicting that we would be getting a call. We were all standing by the front door of the station talking, as Katina and Troy were smoking. Katina and LeeAnn also made the comment about putting a second coat of paint on the table and then flipping it upside down incase we got a call and the Utility would need to go out. About 5 minutes later the tones went off for an accident with injuries, a vehicle into a pole in Jackson Township, in the area of Heim's Garage. I got to my stall and kicked my shoes off and grabbed my jacket and helmet and then ran over to the Engine. I had originally gotten in the officers seat and then I saw Bubba come running in and point to me to move back. I then got out and switched to the back seat. Bubba got his gear on and jumped in and off we went. We got to the scene and PSP was already there. We parked and I got out and went over to the van to check on the people. As I got out of the Engine, I yelled to LeeAnn to grab the med bag and bring it over. I checked on the driver and she was ok. I then saw my father coming up the road on foot and I told him to check on the boy on the passengers side while I checked on the girl on the drivers side. The kids were ok, the girl had some minor upper back pain and the boy had some minor abdominal pain, most likely where the seat belt went across. Engine 29-1 got there and then 13-2 got there. Scott was the first person from 13 there as he came in his truck to the scene. By the time we were done, he was soaked. The father then showed up and the parents decided to take the kids down themselves. We then stayed and helped the wrecked get the van on the roll back and then we headed back to the station. We then all talked and then Bubba left for work and Jean headed on home and so did my father. Troy then headed on home to get a shower, and Schoffstall left, leaving just myself, Kenny, Katina and LeeAnn. Katina then went over and painted in the red part. The three of them then headed into McDonald's to get something to eat. While they were gone, I put the second coat of white paint on the thermometer. They got back as I was getting ready to start cleaning up. I then sat in the station to dry off. We then moved up to the hall when the party was over and everyone left. Troy had come back by that point. I then left around 16:55 hours and headed on home to eat dinner. Once at home I ate dinner while I did a few things online. I then left at 17:55 hours and headed back up to the fire hall for my father's con-ed class tonight. After class was over I went back down to the old fire house to check on the thermometer. The red paint was still tacky, but the white pain was dry. Katina then took a look at it and we both agreed that two coats was all that we needed for the sign. We then went back over to the station and talked some more. We all left around 20:15 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and ate a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Natural Cover Fire
I went to bed last night around 01:00 hours and got up this morning at 10:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into old street clothes. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 to play a little GTA Liberty City Stories. Katina then called me at 11:59 hours and said she was up at the station and I siad I would be up in a few. I then put my game away and grabbed my shoes and headed on up to the station. I got there and parked and Katina and LeeAnn were there. I then grabbed a baby changing table out of the back of LeeAnn's vehicle and took it into the hall. We ended up putting it in the bingo room for now until we decide where to put it. They then put a soap dispensor on the all in the kitchen. We then talked about putting the air conditioners in the hall. Katina called Schoffstall to see if he was coming and he said he would be there then. We then got the thermometer out and put it on cinder blocks beside the station. Kenny then came down and we started to tape up what we did not want to paint white on the sign. Bubba then got there and we told him what we were going to do and then him and Katina ran up to Kratzer's in Eville and got the supplies that we would need. By the time they got back, Lonny had shown up also and Jess and Jaz had stopped up after they got back. Troy then showed up and then went down to Bubba's house. Jess, Troy and Robin then went somewhere and Bubba had already left for work. LeeAnn, Katina, Kenny, and Lonny were then working on the two fileing cabinets getting them preped to paint them. I then put 1 coat of white paint on the one side of the sign. As I was waiting around for it to dry, we heard Chief 29-1 ask county if they had any record of a controled burn on Powell's Valley Road. They came back and said no. A few minutes later, Box 29-1 was dispatched to 700 Powell's Valley Road, Halifax Township for a natural cover fire, brining just station 29. Chief 29 went on the scene and asked for 2 additional brush trucks and 1 additional tanker. We all kind of headed into the station as we knew they were going to hit for the Tanker and we were going to take the Utility also. They then dispatched us and Lonny thought he heard them ask for the Engine. So I kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and then grabbed my jacket and helmet and got in the Engine. LeeAnn then said about calling in to see if they wanted the Engine or not. So I called in as the Engine and they said that the Tanker was due. I then asked county to check with Command 29 to see if they wanted the Utility also and I heard Alf say to bring it. So I put the Tanker responding with 2 and the Utility with 3. Lonny and LeeAnn then got in the Tanker and Myself, Kenny, and Schoffstall got in the Utility. As Lonny was pulling out, I saw my father come walking around the front of the Tanker. I also saw Dave and Matt Faust park and get out of Dave's truck. My father came over to the Utility and I shrugged my shoulders and he asked me where it was and I said 700 Powell's Valley Road. We then pulled out and off we went. We followed the Tanker in and once we got to Powell's Valley Road, they sent us over to Dividing Ridge Road. The Tanker set up on the hard road to fill brush trucks and we took the dirt lane and started heading back up through. We got up and I parked about 30 feet behind Attack 20. I then had Schoffstall get out the rakes and we worked with 20 on getting a fire line started. When they ran out of water, we moved up to the top of the ridge and I beached the Utility in a clearing in the woods and then we helped widen another fire line on another section of the fire. We then all gathered up at Tom's truck and Dave Warfel went over what we were going to do. We were going to form a line and walk out through and look for any hot spots and if we found them, rake them up and then get water on them. After we were done, we headed on down to the Powell's Valley Road. We stopped at the Canteen and grabbed something to eat and then went available and headed into Shell to get fuel. The Tanker was waiting there for us. After we got fuel they stopped at the pump house to fill up and we headed back to the station. Once there I got out of my gear and boy did it ever feel good to do so, especailly after being in it for almost 4 hours. We then helped Katani put the thermometer away in the old fire house and then we pulled the rakes out and I hosed them down and then filled the indian tank up and Kenny put the indian tanks away. Myself, Lonny, and Kenny then repacked the trash line on the Tanker which they had used to fill brush trucks. I then put th rake heads away and Lonny put the handles away. I then left around 21:53 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am really tired.

Call With Sue Last Night
I went on duty at 18:00 hours last night and around 18:05 hours the pager went off for bleeding in Upper Paxton Township. 20 got out right after they dispatched us and we were placed in service. Then at 19:49 hours the pager went off for a sick person in Halifax Township. I got my boots on and got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Sue was already there and had 13-2 pulled out already. I parked and got in 13-2 and off we went. We got there and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Holy Spirit Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. We stopped on the Uni-Mart on Front Street in Susquehanna Township to get something to drink. I got a 32 ounze cup of Pepsi. Sue got a drink and something to munch on also and then we headed on back. Once back at the shed I logged my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. Me and Sue then talked some since we have not seen each other for awhile. I then left there around 22:50 hours and headed on home. Very Slow Day at Medic 6
I went to bed Tuesday night around 01:15 hours and I woke up at 07:10 hours when the alarm went off. I got up and got dressed and then grabbed my camera and suitcase and job sweat and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottles together. I then got in my car and headed on up to Eville around 07:30 hours to go to work. I got up there and parked and took my stuff inside. I put my lunch and Gatorade bottles in the fridge and put my suitcase and other stuff on the one couch. I then clocked in and then did my rig check on 6-3. Brian then asked me about the Susquehanna EMS Patch that I bought and I asked him if that was him I saw on ebay selling the life team patch and he said yes. He then showed me a Eville EMS patch and I told him I would have to put a bid in on it. He told me that he would just end the sale and swing by later and give me the patch. I then ate breakfast while I filled out my paperwork and then checked a few things online. I then went over the BLS supplies and the ALS supplies and put away the supplies that had come in. When I looked at the schedule, I saw that Jim and Tommy were down here instead of Tim. I was a little miffed because I like working with Tim. O'Neal then came in and took a shower. Tommy came in shorlty before he did. Jim came in last because he had went to Lykens like he was supposed to since Steve never told him or Tim about the switch. Jim then made a remark about going to breakfast and then didn't move. O'Neal and me then left and went up to Special Place for breakfast. Tommy and Jim then came in and then Kathy, Tim and the new guy came down and we all ate breakfast. I had a side order of bacon and a side order of white toast. Me and O'Neal then ran up to Indian Trail Road in Lykens Township as he wanted to see where it came out in Gratz Borough. We then headed back to Eville. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then we headed back to the station. Once back I sat down and started going over my Essentials Book in review for the Firefighter 1 test next Friday night. I then ate lunch at 13:00 hours and then went back to studying. O'Neal then said about going up to Wal-Mart around 14:30 hours. After we got back from there, we put in the DVD Delta Farce and watched the movie. Just as it was ending, the tones went off for us to assist PSP in Lykens Borough. I grabbed my stuff and headed out to the bay while O'Neal went to the pisser. O'Neal then came into the bays all pissed off. I put us repsonding and we started up to Lykens class 3. 6-5 then got on the air and said that they would handle it as all the police needed was a stair chair to help move a person inside their house. We turned around and then headed back to the station. Once back I went back to studying. As we were leaving, Steve finally came in to work. He had taken a personnal day because one of his dogs was supposed to give birth, but hadn't as of that time. We then talked and I went back to studying. Then around 19:00 hours O'Neal went out back to cook sausages on the grill. Myself, Tommy, and Steev joined him out back and talked while O'Neal cooked. They then ate them. Fortney then showed up and came in. Then around 19:45 hours the tones went off for 6-5 to meet 24-2 at Station 22. Tim then got on and headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. Then around 20:30 hours the tones went off for chest pains in Upper Paxton Township. Tommy and Fortney took the squad and headed on down to that call. I then ran up to Jo-Jo's and got somethign to eat for dinner. I then came back and ate while I watched TV. Kathy then came down to wait for Tim. We then talked while we watched TV. Tim then got back with 24 and then Fortney and Tommy got back. We all hung out and then Tim and Kathy left and headed back up to Lykens. Steve left at 00:05 hours and headed on home. I then laid down on the couch to watch some TV. The tones and then went to sleep around 01:20 hours. The tones then went off around 01:40 hours and I got up and went back and asked Fortney if he wanted to take a MICU or the squad and he said they would take the squad. It was for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. I then woke up at 03:15 hours and I saw that Tommy was back on the couch. I later found out that they got cancelled. I then went back to sleep. I woke up at 07:45 hours when my alarm went off. Wertz came and then the new guy came in. I got up and got the stuff back on my belt and then put my pillow away. Stupid Memory Card
I went to bed last night around 02:00 hours and was rocked out of bed at 07:40 hours when the pager went off for bleeding in Jackson Township. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Scott was already there. I parked and he pulled out 13-1 and I got in and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up in the back of the ambulance. She did a good job on knocking the scab off of her fiscula and it was really bleeding. When Tindell tried to use a triangular bandage to make a pressure dressing. It slipped and it started bleeding again. We then used an Large Adult Blood Pressure Cuff and made a pressure dressing out of that. We then took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. When we got down there, the doctor got all gowned up and then took the BP Cuff off and then unwrapped all the dressings and the blood started spurting out. He then did something else and it spurted a few more times. Once we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the shed, Tindell moved his gear back over to the squad and I backed 13-1 back in. I then restocked abd put my time in and then did the paperwork from the call. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch while I read the paper. I then went and got on the PS2 to play some GTA Vice City Stories. After I put the disk in it started a new game. I knew I had a game saved. So I went to load the game and it said the memory card was not correctly formatted. So I took the disk out and restarted the PS2 and took a look at the memory card. I lost everything, all my saved games, all the advancments I had made in those games, and now I have to start all over. I decided to restart my Legend in NCAA 2007 and I played a game of college football. I then got of at 16:00 hours and got on the computer to do a few things. I then ate lunch while I watched MASH on TV. I then left at 17:30 hours and headed on up to the hall for the fund-raiser meeting tonight. The meeting went good and a lot of good ideas were thrown around and actually three new fund-raisers were set up for in June. My father then called me and said that he was not feeling well. So I ran home and checked his blood pressure and it was high. I told him to take an aspirin and rest for about an hour or two and I would re check his blood pressure. I then took a shower and ate a light snack. I rechecked his blood pressure and it is going down now. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Busy Night for BLS
I went to bed Saturday night around 01:00 hours and got up at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my camera, suitcase and Essentials Book and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and grabbed my Gatorade bottles and then left around 07:30 hours and headed on up to Lykens to go to work. I got there and parked and went inside and Stutzman was sleeping on the couch. I put my lunch and Gatorade bottles in the fridge and then sat my suitcase down behind the couch. I then put my scope in 6-5 and then did a rig check. I came back in and got a pager and then Stutzman woke up. I asked him who his medic was and he said it was Tim and that he was running out of his apartment overnight. Stutzman then left to head on down to Eville to do the day shift there. I then filled out the form on the computer and checked a few things and then went over the supplies. I then sat down and watched some TV. Then around 08:55 hours the tones went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. Jim took that call and then shortly after that Tim came down with the squad and moved the gear back on to 6-5. He then ran the squad down to Eville and I followed him in 6-5. We got there and I went into the med room and checked on supplies and got some supplies to take back up to Lykens. As I was walking out of the med room, the tones went off for a sick person in Eville Borough. Stutzman and Audre took that call. I then went into the BLS room and saw Kuntz still asleep in there so I shut the door and went over and sat down on the couch and watched some TV. Tim then made the comment that we would soon be heading up to help 6-3 with the patient. About 3 minutes later we heard Stutzman call county and ask for ALS to be dispatched. We headed on up and I helped get the guy out and loaded into 6-3 and then Stutzman and Audre took him down to Harrisburg Hospital and me and Stutzman went back to the station. We were there for a little bit and then we left and headed on down to the fire house to get my chicken half and Tim a dinner. We stayed down there and shot the shit for about 15 minutes and then we left and headed back up to Eville. Once there I ate my chicken half and then me and Stutzman talked about different things. Tim and Audre then got back and Tim restocked the gear on 6-3 and then Jim got back and me and Tim left and headed back up to Lykens. Once there I put the supplies away and then hosed off 6-5 and then went in and started studing my Essentials Book for the Firefighter 1 test which is two weeks away now. Tim worked on his charts and then we watched an episode of Emergency. We then took a break and I ate a early dinner while I watched some TV and Tim finished his charts. We then watched another episode of Emergency. The tones then went off for another call in Upper Paxton Township. Jim took that call, but released it to BLS then. Jim then called up and told Tim that he was moving him down to Eville for the night and moving Stutzman up to Lykens to make a BLS truck up with me. Stutzman then got there and Tim left and headed on down to Eville. Stutzman and me then ordered food from Ciao's and when we were getting ready to head down to the restuarant to get our food, the tones went off for breathing problems in Williamstown. 6-3 went responding and after we got our food we stood beside the unit and waved to them as they went by. We then headed back to the station and ate our food while we watched TV. Then around 22:15 hours the tones went off for a phsychatric patient in Lykens Borough. We went responding and got there and then Bruce stopped on his way back down through from Williamstown to help. We got the lady loaded up and then we took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back to Lykens. Once there I nibbeled on my chicken fingers and then went to sleep around 01:30 hours. The tones then went off at 04:10 hours for an automatic fire alarm in Lykens Township. We got up and got in 6-5 and headed off to that. We got there and staged until released by Command 27 and then headed back to the station. Once there I laid back down on the couch and went back to sleep. That only lasted for about 10 minutes and then the tones went off again for a fall victim in Lykens Township. I got back up and we got back in 6-5 and off we went. Luckily the lady only needed help getting back up. After we got her up we made sure she was not hurt. While we were getting her information, the tones went off for seizures in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. 6-3 took that call and then we went available and returned to the station. Once back I went back to sleep. I then woke up at 08:08 hours and John was not there yet. I got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and the tones went off for breathing problems in Eville Borough. Stutzman woke up and asked me where John was and I said he was not there yet. So I called down to Eville and here he went straight down there as he knew there was no medic in Lykens today. I then clocked out and left and headed on down to Eville. I stopped at Shell and got gas and then stopped at Eville and picked up my check and then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into my pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 14:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. I then got on the computer and did a few things. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house at 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire hall for the building meeting tonight. The meeting went good and was very informative. I then went down to the station along with Bubba, LeeAnn, Holly, Dave and Bill. I then left there around 21:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Carsonville Hotel
I went to bed last night at 02:34 hours and got up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then grabbed something to eat for breakfast and then headed up to the fire house. I got there and Dave was already there. I went down in to the station and ate breakfast and as I was finishing, Dave came in to make some copies. I then headed up to the hall. When I walked in, Robin and Kenny were there also. They slowly started coming in for the class. There was a total of 9 people there to take the class. LeeAnn and Troy then came in, followed by Katina. Jason then showed up and then Jess and Jaz, and then Bubba showed up shortly after they left to go to the Faust Farm for the tour. Lunch was then made and I grabbed some lunch and then Bubba and Troy ran into town to pick up the two stainless steel tables and a stainless steel single bay sink. Me and Troy started working on cleaning them up. Meanwhile Schoffstall and Katina had gotten back with the chicken and the class was over. They then started cleaning the chickens and getting stuff ready for the chicken bbq tomorrow. Most of us then went outside to see the Ethonol demonstration conducted by Eric. We then repacked all the hose on the Tanker and then Bubba let Eric take the Tanker out for a drive. We then out everything away and then I headed on home to get cleaned up and then headed on over to the Carsonville Hotel for dinner. We got there and ate dinner. I had the Carsonville Cheeseburger and a side order of fries. I also had 5 Coors Lights Drafts. At our table there was Robin, Bubba, LeeAnn, and Katina, then Schoffstall, myself, Troy and Bill. Eric and his two helpers and Dave and Holly sat at the table behind us. While we were waiting for our food, I saw Warren and his wife sitting at the bar. Alf and Kim then walked in and then about 20 minutes later, Sue and Bob walked in and Sue waved at me. I then said goodbye to them as they were leaving and I was moving out to the bar to finish for the night. I left there around 21:35 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now hitting the old email and surfing the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Inspection
I went to bed last night around 02:10 hours and got up this morning at 06:30 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then grabbed something to eat for breakfast and left the house around 07:05 hours and headed on down to Progress to the garage. I got down there and parked and went inside and Amanda was not there yet. Bob was there already. Amanda then came in and I gave her my stuff and then we got talking. Someone else came in and started talking to her so I sat down and read the paper. After the guy that was there left we started talking again and then another guy came in. Bob then came in and said that my car was done. I paid and then Amanda then took me upstairs to show me what all her and Kenny have done to the upstairs. They have really done a lot to it, but still have a lot to do to it to get it ready. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I grabbed my check from Halifax and the money to put into my saving account at Susquehanna Banks and then headed back into town. I ran up to Sheetz and got gas and then ran over to the bank and deposited my money into my saving account and then cashed my check. I then ran down to Giant and got a gallon of Diet Lemon Tea, and some cheese and crackers. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I decided to pull my trumpet out and I played it for about 20 minutes. I am not the same as I used to be. I guess two years of not playing it can do that to you. I then ate lunch and then got on the computer and played a game of College Football. I then got off at 17:10 hours and made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I am soon going to go get a shower and then will be back on to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
Natural Cover Fire
At 18:00 hours Tuesday the fire pager went off for a natural cover fire in Jackson Township. I got my shoes on and grabbed my pager and cell phone and ran out to the kitchen. I yelled to my father that it was a brush fire. I grabbed my keys and ran out to my car. I looked across the street and Warren was running out to his truck. I got in my car and took off for the fire house. I got up there and Kenny was standing outside. I parked and got out and saw Robby come running across the front lot and up to the fire house. He unlocked the door and we went inside. I kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and grabbed my jacket and helmet. Robby said that the next person that came in the door we were leaving. I got in the officers seat and Robby got in the driver's seat. Kenny got in the back and then my father came in and we told him to get in and for Kenny to slide over. We then pulled out and I put us responding. Schoffstall and Bruce then came on the Utility. We got there and Alf and Warren were already there and when we stopped Warren came up and pulled the green handline off. I got out and put my helmet on and my structure gloves and then I ran around and pulled the blue line off and started heading up into the woods. My father came behind me and started pulling hose up and then once we got into position, I signaled down to Robby to charge the line. We got it knocked down and then Brush 29 came in with their leaf blower and started making a fire line. Schoffstall and Kenny then came behind them with rakes and started making the line bigger. Jason then helped me stretch the line back in and I started wetting down the line as I backed out. We then rolled the hose up and headed on back to the station. Once there I got out of my bunker gear and then headed on home. Once at home I washed my face and hands/arms and then changed for work. I then grabbed my suitcase and my Gatorade and camera and then got in my car and left and headed to Millersburg for the fire company meeting. I got there and did my speech and then answered questions. I then left and headed up to Lykens to go to work. When I passed the Eville station I saw that the squad was out on a call. I got up to Lykens, parked and went inside and clocked in. I thanked John for staying and extra hour for me and then he left. I then did my rig check and then around 21:00 hours the tones went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. Bowser who has just cleared from the call in Halifax, took that call. I then ran up to Tower Mini Mart and got somethingto munch on and went back to the station. When I got back me and Tim sat down and watched an episode of Emergency. We then started watching another one when around 22:50 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Williamstown Borough. Me and Tim got in 6-5 and off we went. We got to the scene and they got the lady loaded up and I moved all of Tim's gear over to 24-1 and then waited to see if he needed anything before they left. I was standing in there when around 23:20 hours the tones went off for chest pains in Gratz Borough at MI. Tim said he was done with me and then I got in 6-5 and went responding as 6Q. 6-3 then went responding. I got there 3 minutes after they did. I helped them get the lady loaded up and then they went enroute to Harrisburg Hospital. I then headed down to the Eville station and checked on supplies and then headed back up to the Lykens station. While I was on my way back, 24 was dispatched for a domestic in Wiconisco Township. I didn't go responding as I didn't want to do a domestic by myself, even though EMS was to stage until PSP said to come in. They ended up getting Schuylkill 961 to respond and then after they did, PSP said EMS could cancel. Once there I sat down on the couch and watched TV until Tim called me at 02:05 hours and said that they were coming over Gold Mine Mountain. I got back in 6-5 and headed on up to Williamstown Station. I got there and then they got back and I moved Tim's gear back over and we headed back to the station. Once there I helped him restock and then laid back down on the couch and watched some more TV while Tim worked on his chart. At 03:00 hours Tim left and went up to his house. He was going off at 04:00 hours due to having class Saturday morning. I then went to sleep after he left. I woke up at 07:20 hours when Enders came in. I laid on the couch until about 07:40 hours and then I got up and got the stuff back on my belt, got my boots on, put my pillow away and got my stuff out of the truck. Tindell then came in and we talked for about 30 minutes. I clocked out at 08:008 hours and left there around 08:40 hours and headed on down to the Eville station. Once down there I put the supplies that came in away and then headed on home. Once at home I changed into my pj's and went back to bed. I got up this afternoon at 12:20 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the PS2 at 14:00 hours to play some GTA Vice City Stories. Around 15:20 hours Bubba called me and asked me if I was doing anything and I said no. He asked me if I wanted to run him up to Swabs in the Utility to pick up the Tanker and do a few other things. I said not a problem and I would be up in a few minutes. I got up there and the first thing we did was do an inspection at the group home on Tourist Park Road. We then ran over to Troy's house to pick up his trailer. He was talking with his father on the deck that they were doing. We then left there and headed back to the fire house. Bubba and Troy then ran up to Mountain House Road and picked up two warmning boxes and then up to Swab's and picked up the Tanker and came back. Bingo went good tonight and we were done by 21:30 hours. I then went down to the station to help Bubba put the stuff we got with the State Grant away. I then backed the Utility in after Bubba had backed the Engine in and then backed the Tanker in. I then left there around 22:40 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Another day of rest
I went to bed last night around 03:00 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the PS2 to play a game of college football. I elevated my foot and got some ice on it while I played. I started my second year of college football as the quarterback for Penn State. I then got off and am now eating dinner. I will be leaving tonight around 19:00 hours to head up to Millersburg to talk to them about hosting the 2010 County Convention. After that I am heading up to Lykens to go to work for the night. I will be home tomorrow morning then.
Rolling Hose
I went to bed last night around 02:20 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:25 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things and also elevated my foot and put ice on it for awhile. I then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left the house and headed up to the fire house for the meeting tonight. The meeting went good and we decided to set up a fund-raiser meeting for next Tuesday. I then went down to the fire house and me and LeeAnn took the 1-3/4 hose down and rolled it up. Dave then helped me roll the 2-1/2" hose and put it away. I then left around 21:20 hours and headed on home. I called Sue on my way home to tell her about my ankle and we talked for close to 45 minutes. I then took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Boyd's Bear Bingo
I went to bed last night around 02:20 hours and got up this morning at 10:15 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and grabbed something to eat for breakfast. I then headed up to the fire hosue for Boyd's Bear Bingo. Katina was there already. I parked and went into the hall and she was setting the bears up. We got talking and she asked me if there was anyway she could make bingo cards up on the computer. I said she could probally do it in Excel and I started to explain it to her. She stopped me and said that she is not that good with computers. I asked her if she had permission to get on the computer at the station and she said yes. I asked her if she wanted to try it or not and she said sure. So we went down and I made up the bingo cards for her and then we headed back up to the station. LeeAnn was there by now and we sat in the kitchen. Katina had brought her paper that she got and I sat there and read it. Bingo went ok, not as crowded as the last time. After bingo we went down to the old fire house and got the thermometer out and put it away in a spot that we could easily get to it to start working on it. We then went back up to the hall and shot the shit for awhile. I left there at 20:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then ate dinner. I am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Maybe Broke my Ankle
I left the house around 19:00 hours Friday night and headed on up to the fire house. I got there and LeeAnn was there. I parked and went inside the station and the Utility was gone. In the back was the stuff we got free from the Forestry Department, including two Scott Air Packs. I tried one on and I don't care too much for them. They seem heavier then the MSA's that we have. Troy and Bubba then got back with the Utility and one of Troy's trailers and they parked in the station. Bubba and Troy then went home to get ready for tonight. I then went in the old fire house and took a look at where the Thermometer was at. It is behind an awful lot of stuff that needs to be moved to get it out. Bubba then came back up and then Schoffstall and his dad showed up. We then started getting in the van. Martha then came over and got in and then Lyle and his friend Justin Hoover. Troy was the last to get there and when he got in off we went. We stopped at Shell and I grabbed a Gatorade for on the way home and once everyone was done, we contiuned on over. We got over there and it really looked crowded and we actually had to park on the other side of the bar. Boy did I ever have fun. I lost count of how many Coors Lights I had. I do know that I had a Yeager Bomb, a Buttery Nipple, a shot of Sudden Death, and a Jolly Rancher. Then the bad part of the night came. When it was time for us to leave, Bubba went outside to the van awhile and I followed him shortly afterwards. I came out of the bar and stepped off of the porch and somewhere along the line I either tripped or hit a ditch and ended up twisting my ankle. Apparently I ended up hitting the building and then slowly slid down the wall until I was sitting on the ground. Apparently I stayed that way for a few minutes. I know I heard Bubba yell over to me in between him laughing and asked if I was ok and I said that I didn't know. Dave then came out and helped me up and helped me over to the van and I then got in and off we headed on home. Once back at the station I hobbeled on over to my car and Hoover wanted Lyle to drive me home. I told him that I was fine and Lyle could follow me if he wanted to. So Lyle followed me home. Once at home and in the house, I said to my mother that I was home and going to bed. By that time my ankle was starting to bother me and it hurt a little to walk on. I went to bed around 03:00 hours and got up at 07:10 hours this morning when my alarm went off. I got up and I got out of bed and that was when the pain really hit me. I hobbeled out to the kitchen and that was when my mother first saw me hobbling along. She asked what was wrong and I told her I tripped coming out of the bar. She had me sit down and took a look at my ankle. She then had my father take a look at it and neither of them wanted me to go help at the chicken bbq at the church. I told them to just wrap it and I would be good for the morning. My mother ended up getting a compression sock type of thing for the ankle for me and I put that on and changed into street clothes and then left at 07:35 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got there and Katina, LeeAnn, Bill and Kenny were already there. The Utility was pulled out and they had a few things loaded into the back of the trailer including charcoal. They asked me how much charcoal I use for each compartment and I said about 4 to 5. So we loaded the charcoal up and then I got my gear and put it in the back of the Utility and Kenny did the same thing and then we headed on down to the church. Once there we got the trailer set up and it took us awhile to get the fires going. Bill and Kenny had to run back and bring in some more charcoal and lighter fluid. Bill then ran into McDonald's and got me something to eat for breakfast. Jason then showed up and then my father showed up. Bubba and Jean showed up later on in the morning. We were finished by 11:20 hours and started cleaning up. We then took everything back to the station and cleaned it up some more and put everything away and then I left and headed on home to prop my right foot up and get some ice on it. I then ate lunch and read the paper. I left the house at 15:15 hours and headed on up to the fire house. Troy and Robby were sitting in Robby's truck talking. LeeAnn was also there. Lonny then got there and Kenny came down and Bubba came up. We then loaded our gear up. I went down on the Engine with Bubba, Lonny and LeeAnn, Troy and Robby went in the Utility. We stopped at Shell and I picked up something to eat and two bottles of Gatorade and once everyone else got what they wanted, we continued on down. We got down there and Dave, Bisking, and Matt were down there. The guys from Eville showed up then and me and Bubba got the truck belts. We then went through quite a few stations. The first was the rescuing an unconscious person via a ladder. I teamed up with LeeAnn and was the person that stayed on the ladder and carried the dummy down. I did pretty good with that and my ankle I thought did pretty good. We then moved on to advancing hoselines. Me and Troy took a 2-1/2" up the interior stairwell and attacked a fire on the second floor. Then me and Bubba took a 1-3/4" up a ladder and then down the interior stairs and attacked a fire on the first floor. We then took a quick break. The a few of us went with Joey and went over the ladders station and then we switched off and went with Dave and he went over the hydrant connections station with us. We then put all the hose and tools away and went over to take a look at the maze. Troy and Robby then went through the maze. We then put everything else away and then left. Robby and Troy went to Taco Bell to eat and we stopped at Hardee's and I got something to eat. We then stopped and Shell and got fuel and then continued on back to the station. Once there I unloaded my gear and hung a few thigns up to dry and then helped hang hose. I left there around 23:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took about 30 minutes and propped my leg up and put some ice on it. I then took a bath and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Going back to Shade Mountain Finally
I went to bed last night around 02:10 hours and was rocked out of bed this morning around 10:50 hours when the pager went off for chest pains in Halifax Township at Community Medical Associates. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed into the "Barn". I got there and Carol was already there and had 13-2 pulled out. I parked and got in and off we went. We got there and Dohn was there also and she said that Dohn would be going with me. We got there and got the guy loaded up and Jim got on board and we took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. When I got down to Harrisburg Hospital, I was following a unit from Silver Spring EMS. The ER was busy. There was only 1 slot open and it was on the far left side. On the right side was Millersburg and a unit from Advantage Ambulance. One the left was a unit from South Central. Parked in the middle was a unit feom West Shore EMS and the unit from Silver Spring EMS pulled up to the top part and parked there. So I swung in and started to back up. I was watching my passengers side so I would not back into the unit from West Shore or South Central's unit. I looked in my driver's side mirror and I saw the wall and the next thing I knew, the rubber stopper on the back of the bumper hit the wall. I stopped and pulled forward and backed straight in. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I called Scott and let him know what had happened. I told him Dohn was with me and we looked at it and there was no damage to the bumper of the back of the unit. We dropped Jim off at his squad and then we headed back to the shed. I parked 13-2 outside and Dohn moved 13-1 outside and parked it. I then logged my time in and then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things and get some things together in regards to the information I am mailing out Monday to Health America. Steve then called and harrased me about backing into the wall. He then said that he was working on my letter and I said that I would be up at 15:00 hours. I left here around 14:35 hours and headed up to Eville. I got there and went over supplies and put a small order in and then Steve finished my letter. He had Tony read over the letter and Tony made some changes to it and then he printed it out and I had Steve sign it. Tony also told me to send him an email with detials and that he would write me a letter over the weekend and email it back to me. I said ok and then left and headed on home. I am soon going to eat dinner and then at 19:00 hours am going to head up to the fire house as we are going over to Shade Mountain tonight for the first time in almost 2 months. I will get home late, but if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, they can give me cell a buzz.
Garage Fire in Eville
I went to bed Tuesday night around 02:00 hours and got up Wednesday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed. I then grabbed mt suitcase and jacket and took them out to thr kitchen. I then packed my lunch and grabbed my Gatorade bottles. I then left the house around 07:25 hours and headed on up to Lykens to go to work. I got up there and parked and went inside. I put my lunch and Gatorade bottles in the fridge and put my suitcase behind the one couch. I then clocked in and did my rig check on 6-5. I then did date checks on 6-8. Kathy then called me and asked me if me and Tim were going to breakfast or not. We said that we were ok. About 10 minutes later the tones went off for a call in Eville Borough and 6-3 and 6-1 took the call. I then got on the computer to check a few things while Tim laid down on the couch and watched some TV. Then around 09:50 hours O'Neal called and said that there was call in Northumberland County for a medical alarm and that Steve said we were to start heading that way. I then heard Steve in the background say that never mind that they would handle. About 2 minutes later the tones went off for the call and Tim sat up. I told him to lay back down that Steve and O'Neal were going to handle it. I heard them go responding and then county said that they were placed in service. I went back to what I was doing on the computer. Then at 10:15 hours I heard tones start to drop on the fire scanner and then our tones went off for a barn fire in Washington Township. I heard 6-2 go responding and me and Tim got in 6-5 and headed on down that way to take a look at it. We got there and it turned out to be a large garage on fire. Bubba had been at Swab's when the call came in and the guys there took all their tools off the truck and Bubba called Cheif 21 and told him that he was in town with the Tanker and asked him if he wanted the Tanker or not. Chief 21 told him to go ahead and respond with the Tanker. So Bubba was there with the Tanker. We stayed there for close to an hour I believe and I got some good picutres. We then left to head on back. I stopped at the Eville station to check on supplies and to pick up some supplies to take back up to Lykens. After I got the supplies Tim was screwing around back in the day room when the tones went off for a fainting in Wiconisco Township. I put the supplies in the back of 6-5 and we got in and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up and took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at the Sunoco on Second Street in the city so Tim could get a cup of coffee and then we continued on back. While on the way back the tones went off for and accident with confinement in Washington Township in front of the West End Garage. I stopped at the Shell in Halifax to get fuel and while I was there I heard 20 call county and ask for 6-1 to meet up with them while they were on their way to Osteo. Steve called us and asked us where we were and we said Shell so we ended up meeting up with them there and Tim went down with them. I ran out to the house and picked up my clipboard and downloaded the pictures I had taken at the fire that morning. I then headed back into Sheetz and waited then until Tim got back on 20. I helped move his gear over and then we headed on back up through. We stopped at Eville so Tim could restock and then we headed on back up to Lykens. Once there I put the supplies away and then ate my lunch as my dinner while Tim worked on his charts. Tim then realized that the Liberty Hose Band practice was tonight. He disappeared while I was in the bathroom and I went to go outside and I saw him walking back over to the station with a tuba around him. He practiced some after he got it tuned up. After he was done we went ordered something to eat for dinner. He order a sub and I got a personnel pan pizza from Ciao's. After 10 minutes I went out and got in 6-5 to go get the food and it would not start. So I put it on the battery charger and waited a few minutes and tried it again, still no go, but it was getting close. Tim now came out and he tried and after about 15 minutes of playing with it we finally got it started and then we ran to Ciao's and got our food. I then ran over to Tower Mini Mart's and grabbed a half gallon of Guers Orange Drink and then we headed back to the station. We sat down to eat and watch an episode of Emergency. We got about 20 minutes into the episode when the tones went off for a headache in Halifax Township. Flipper was out on a call with 20 so we got in 6-5 and off we went. We got to about 1 mile north of Fisherville when Flipper called us and said that they would handle the call. I turned around and we headed on back up to Lykens. Once there we went back to watching the episode and I finished eating and then we wacthed a second episode. It was now 23:30 hours and Tim went back to working on his charts. I laid down on the couch and must have fallen asleep. I woke up at 23:59 hours when the tones went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township at SLV. Tim said that they were back and I went back to sleep unitl 06:00 hours when I heard the phone ringing. Before I could get up to answer it the tones went off for abdominal pains in Klingerstown. I got up and got the stuff on my belt and then got my boots on and we got in 6-5 and off we went. We got there and Dalmatia was there and they brought the girl out. He went with them and I started to make my way back to Lykens. When I was about 1 mile outside of Gratz, the tones went off for a fall victim in Gratz Borough at the Gratz Terrace Apartments. I went responding as 6Q and then I heard 6-3 go responding. I got there and both apartments I went to said that they did not call for an ambulance. So I went back out and asked County the apartment number. 6-3 got there and we finally got in and helped the lady up and then we went available and I went back to Lykens. Once there I got my stuff out of the truck and put my pillow away. Jim then came in and then John came in. At 08:05 hours the tones went off for a call in Williamstown and they left on that. I clocked on and headed on down to Eville. I stopped at the Shell and got fuel and then headed to the Eville station. Once there I filled out my time card and then left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 14:00 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes. I then read the paper. My father stopped and picked up a pizza at Piaaz Delight for dinner. I ate that while I got on the computer to do a few things. I then left at 19:00 hours and headed into town to get my hair cut. I left there at 21:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Fire Alarm
I went to bed last night around 03:30 hours and was rocked out of bed at 10:49 hours this morning when the fire pager went off for a fire alarm on Mountain House Road. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got in my car and headed on up to the fire house. I got there and parked and Bubba was walking up to the station. I went inside and kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and then put my jacket on and grabbed my helmet and went over and got in the officers seat of the Engine. I hooked my tag to the ring and then Bubba told me to put us responding as we pulled out. He then stopped as he saw Schoffstall pull in and then Jason pulled in. They both ran inside the station and grabbed their gear and then jumped in the Engine and off we went. It ended up being a false alarm but we continued on in anyway as we like to do that to just double check with the home owner to make sure everything is ok. Everything was ok and we went back to the station. Once back there we talked for a little bit and then we all left and I headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played a game of College Football. I played for the National Championship as my first year was done in the game mode I am playing. I played Louisville and blew them out of the water 118-37. I then got off and ate dinner while I got on the computer to do a few things. I then left at 17:30 hours and headed on up to the fire hall for the festival meeting tonight. The meeting lasted only 1 hour and then we all went down to the fire house to shot the shit. Bill left first and then Lonny and then Troy, then Dave and Holly and the baby. Myself, Bubba and LeeAnn all left around 21:40 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now gettign ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
