Engine Driver
I went to bed last night around 02:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:10 hours. I had wanted to be up by 11:45 hours, but my mother got busy and forgot to call me. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then ate a quick lunch. I then left the house around 12:33 hours and headed up to the fire house. I got up there and Bubba wasn't there yet. I went in and opened up the Tanker door and put my gear on the Tanker. I then put the pool fill pipe on the Tanker and then put two sections of hose in the driver's side compartment. Bubba was walking up by this time and I asked him if he wanted two or three sections of hose on the Tanker and he said three. So I put the thrid section on and then put his gear in the Tanker. He then told me to pull the Engine out. So I helped him open the Engine door and then got in the Engine and pulled it out. Once out he told me to put the pump in gear and then he opened the one discharge up to see what the water looked like and then she shut it. He then shut the Engine door and then told me that when he pulled in the driveway to pull in behind him and then got in the Tanker. He pulled it out and then I followed him in the Engine. We got down to the place and it was charlies from the township. We filled the pool and then ran into the pump house and filled up both trucks. We then ran up to Shell and got fuel and then headed back to the fire house. We got back and put the trucks away. I then helped Bubba move some stuff around in the cabinet and then he got on the computer to work on the final report for the state grant. Troy then showed up while we were looking at a book of hats. I then ran home at 17:00 hours and changed shirts and picked up the portable TV my father found under his work bench that Bubba said we could put on the trash pile up at the fire house. I then headed back up and Robby, Robin and LeeAnn were already there. Myself, Robby and Troy then went down to Gracey's house and loaded the scrap into the back of Troy's truck and then took it down to the old fire house and unloaded it up front since Troy's father needed his truck for today. Robin decided not to go so it was just myself, Troy, Robby, Bubba and LeeAnn in Troy's truck. We put our gear in the back and took it down just incase they got a call while we were there and then headed on down. My father pulled out from the Sheetz then and followed us to the fire house. They showed us the Engine and the QRS, which are the two pieces that we will be running next Saturday while we are down there. The chief then took Bubba out in the Engine, then Robby and then Troy. My father took the QRS out and followed Troy in the Engine. LeeAnn went with Troy and I went with my father. While Robby was out, the two juniors showed us the carnival buildings that they have behind the fire house. I want to tell you what, the kitchen that they use for the carnival, is at least 3 to 4 times bigger then ours. They have a soft serve ice cream machine, a snow cone machine. It just blew all of us away. While we were in the one building, we saw this hugh ass potato peeler sitting there. Bubba asked the chief if they still use it and he said no. He told him that we were looking for one and, well to say the least we came home with one more thing then we showed up with. We got in for $50.00. This thing is huge. We figure we can probally put a whole 50 pound bag of potatos in there at a time. We then left down there around 21:40 hours and headed on home. We stopped at the McDonald's on Front Street as Bubba was getting hungry and ate there. I had chicken tenders, fries and a Vanilla Milk Shake. We then headed on home. Once back at the station, LeeAnn had texted Katina to meet us there as we had a surprise. We showed her and she was amazed. We then unloaded our gear and then I made room in the old fire house for it and me and Troy carried it over there. I then left and headed on home around 23:20 hours. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.
