Night 3 of the Festival
I went to bed Friday night around 03:00 hours and got up Saturday morning around 08:45 hours. I got out of bed and changed into street clothes and then grabbed something quick to eat for breakfast and read the comics. My father and me then got in my car and we headed on down to Harrisburg for Pump Primers. I went down Cameron Street since it would be eaiser to get to where we normally park and when we passed the Farm Show, all the trucks were still sitting in the parking lot. We parked in the Paxton Fire House parking lot. We then walked down to Front Street. The trucks were still not there yet, but we figured they would be coming soon. So we walked down through the market area and we ran into Doug Snyder and started talking to him. Grimm then came up and hit me in the arm and we started talking also. Then I saw a nice looking lady walking towards us and I noticed she had a Fox 43 mic in her hand. She stopped and asked if she could interview one of us about what was going on. I punched Grimm's arm and we all started saying about him. Snyder said that he would hold Grimm's camera and papers as I was taking them out of his hand. Grimm then asked me to hold his hat and he went over. As he walked over Snyder said about him buying everyone a round of ice cream and I turned to Grimm and said about buying all of us a beer. He then came back and said he would foward the bill to Fox. We then heard the sirens in the distance and said goodbye and started down towards the river front so I could get pictures of the trucks as they came in. I got some very good pictures and then we walked back down through and I got some more pictures and we talked to a few people. We then went back up top and went back down through the flea market and to the apparatus that decided not to pump and just parked up in the park area and I took some more pictures. There was a lot of trucks this year and I thought there was a very good turn out. We then went through the flea market section. I got a L-Model Mack Book, a wood figure of Progress's Engine 32-1, the one that they are currently trying to sell, and some more pictures from Pete. We then left around 13:20 hours to head on home. We stopped at the Uni-Mart on Front Street so we could get something to drink and munch on and then we continued on home. I then stopped at Sheetz and got some gas and then headed on home. Once at home I sat the stuff I bought off to the side and then changed and headed up to the fire house around 15:00 hours. I got up there and parked and grabbed an organe drink out of the fridge in the station and headed up into the hall. I helped Bubba bring the beer in from his car and then started putting it in the coolers that we brought up from the hall. I then put trash bags in the cans outside and picked up any lose trash laying around. I then pulled the cars and tractor out of the old fire house and then went back inside and sat down to cool off a little bit. Then around 17:00 hours and after people started shwoing up, we started getting things outside again. My father got there around 18:00 hours with mom's fudge and then we finished setting things up. I then got two cheeseburgers before I got into my stand to prepare for the night. It turned out to be way slower then usual for a Saturday night and it had me worried about how much money we would make on the night. We ended up starting to shut down around 22:35 hours. I put my candy away and gave Jason my money box and then we started tearing stuff down and putting it down into the old fire house. After we got everything put away we brought the coolers of beer out. My father left a little bit before we brought the beer out and headed on home. We made $200 dollars less this year then we did last year on Saturday night. However, overall we made $1,700 and some more this year then we did last year. We then got down to business. I don't know how many Coors Lights I had last night, but it was a hell of a night. House set up Beer Pong inside the hall and people started playing. Then Robby came out and said about me and him having lawn mower races. I handed Bubba my beer and me and Robby took off running for the lawn mowers. Of course, he got the one that Valley Ag and Turf loaned us and I got ours, which has no get up and go like the new one. We started them up and off we went. Of course Robby won because he ahd the newer mower. We parked then and went back to drinking. Mandy and Jess left I think it was around 02:00 hours to go to another party. I then had a burger and then Robby came back out and I said I wanted a rematch but this time I get the newer mower. We went around once and came back and parked and went back to drinking. Comedy insured through out the night with a lot of stuff going on. Us trying to start the egg man;s small tractor that he left there overnight, to Troy pantsing Holly in the hall, the prank phone calling and the constant flow of ice fights. Everyone slowly started to leave and I left and headed home around 05:30 hours this morning. Once at home I told my mother how we did, put my cookies on a stick in the fridge and then went to bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 13:20 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then changed into street clothes and then headed up to the fire house around 14:30 hours to start getting the tire shine on the trucks for the guy coming to take pictures. I got the tire shine on and as I finished, the sky did not look good. Bart and Tim from Londonderry then pulled in and Tim asked if I thought it was going to rain and about that time the sky opened up. A few minutes later, Dave and Holly pulled in and the five of us talked for awhile. They then left around 16:30 hours and then myself, Dave and Holly all left around 16:45 hours and I headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner and downloaded my pictures from yesterday. My father and me then headed back up to the fire house around 19:10 hours so he could install the software to print off of the copier. We then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and I am soon going to bed as I am tired.
