Cleat Face

I went to bed Saturday night around 02:00 hours and woke up Sunday morning when my alarm went off at 07:10 hours. I gotr out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my digital camera and suitcase and took them out to the car. I then packed my lunch and then left the house around 07:40 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and got a Sunday paper and a bottle of Gatorade and then headed down to the station. I got there and parked and Stutzman was standing outside smoking. I got out of my car and grabbed my stuff and Stutzman made the comment "Welcome to EMT 6". I looked at him and asked what he meant by that and he said that we had no medics for the day shift. Beef had called in to Ron around 02:30 hours in the morning and basically said that he was getting his ass handed to him at Fame and until he got caught up on paperwork he was going to be exhausted and wanted to go home and get some sleep. He also told Ron that it wouldn't be worth his time to come in just for the night shift, which I can understand what he is saying. I went inside and clocked in and put my lunch box and Gatorade bottle in the fridge and then did a quick rig check on 6-5. Zach and Ron were going off and Zach left first and Ron stayed to finish up his charts and then he left around 10:30 hours. Audrey then came down from Lykens around 08:03 hours and we told her the situation. Ron tried calling around and couldn't find anyone and Stutzman sent out a mass text message to all of the medics and got no reply's. He then called Boyer and told him and Boyer said he was going to try and find someone to watch the kids and then he would be in. I then checked supplies and then got on the computer and filled out my paperwork and put an order in while I ate breakfast. I then checked a few other things and then went out into the day room and read the paper while I watched Ace Venture 2 on TV. The original Ace Venture movie then came on and I watched that. Boyer then came in around 11:30 hours and he told Stutzman to move 6-4 from beside the building to in front of the squad bay and check over the truck as him and Stutzman were going to run 6-4 as a MICU and we were going to run 6-5 as a BLS truck. He then said about going up to Wild Willies that had just opened that day and I said I was game with that. So we went up there. The food is nice, but it is quite expensive. I got a 6 ounce cheeseburger, texas cut and seasoned fries and a soda and my bill came out to over $11.00. After we were done there, Boyer and Stutzman ran up to Lykens to get the narc number and me and Audrey headed on back. I stopped by at Station 21 as the essentials class was going on and I talked to Sean Grimm about a few things and then we headed back to the station. Once there I sat down to watch some tv. Then around 15:45 hours the tones went off for a traumatic injury at the one baseball field in Eville Borough, class 1. 6-4 went responding and I told Audrey that we would head up to stablize awhile. Well some 17 year old kid who was playing football with his buddies took a cleat to the left side of his face. He had two very detailed cleat marks on the left side of his face and it looked like someone took a golf ball and shoved it between his gum and cheek, which meant that he most likely did something to hie left cheek. Well it ended up getting released to BLS and I rode down in the back and we took him to Hershey Medical Center. After I gave report and got what I needed, I told Audrey I would be back in about 15 minutes and headed up to the 6th floor to visit my grandmother. I visited with her for about 10 to 15 minutes and she was doing better then she was the day before. I then said goodbye to her and headed back down to 6-5 and we started on our way back. I said to Audrey that I wanted to stop at 3 B's and get a Slush Puppy. As we were coming up to Chambers Hill Road, the tones went off for heart problems in Jackson Township. Boyer ended up putting 13 in service as they arrived on the scene as they went responding. Well as we were coming up to the Dauphin exit, county hit the tones and I thought I heard them call for Ambulance 6-5. I then heard Boyer tell county that if they couldn't get ahold of 6-5 to go ahead and dispatch the fire department. I got on the radio right away and asked county if 6-3 was trying to get ahold of us and they said that they needed a hand at the call and I put us responding from the Dauphin exit. I turned the lights on and told Audrey to hold on and off we went. I blew through Fisherville and emptied the tank using the air horns. We were on scene in 20 minutes and they had just gotten the lady in the back of 6-4 and Stutzman stuck his head out and said that I was driving. I then moved my stuff over to the cab of 6-4 and put us enroute to Harrisburg Hospital and off we went class 2. So I went back through town with just the siren going this time, no air horns because of the patient. I got them down there and after we got what we needed, we headed on back. I asked Stutzman to stop at 3B's and I got my Slush Puppy and we headed on back to Eville. He then ran down to Shell and got fuel in 6-4 and then headed back to the station. We then swtiched stretchers and moved the gear back over to 6-5. Stutzman then left and headed up to Lykens to make a BLS truck up with Yeager until Tracey came in at 03:00 hours. I then gather all the trash up and put it in the dumpster and then moved the dumpster out front. I then put trash bags in all of the trash cans and then I asked Tim if he had gotten anything to eat and he said yeah. I then said that I was going to get something from Jo-Jo's then. I called my order in, a ham and cheese sub, a side order of fries and two slices of cheese pizza. I then got in 6-5 and headed on up to Shell and got fuel and then parked by Jo-Jo's. I went over to Koppy's to grab a soda and a chocolate milk for last night. Dave and Holly pulled in while I was walking in. After I got my stuff I went outside and talked with them about the situation up at Medic 6. I was talking with them when the tones went off for breathing problems in Wayne Township. I walked over to the truck and called Tim and told him I was on my way back and he said not to worry about it that he would take the squad. So I turned around in went back to Jo-Jo's and got my food and then got back in 6-5 and headed back to the station. I then passed Tim as he was heading to the call. Once back at the station I ate my sub and fries while I watched TV. Then at 21:00 hours I got on the computer and did the paperwork from cleat face and then went out to the fridge and grabbed my two slices of pizza and went back in and started eating them while I got on the computer to check on a few things. Then around 21:45 hours the tones went off for a CVA in Eville Borough. I made my way out to 6-5 and was debating weather or not to go on air as a QRS and then I heard Tim respond and then I jumped on the air and went responding as a QRS. While I was on my way to the scene, Stutzman called me and said that him and Yeager were on there way down incase it turned out to be a bull shit call. I got there first and it was a song and dance story, more of a attention getting problem, but we have to go with what the patient presents to us. 6-5 then got there and then Tim got there and we got her loaded up and took her down to Hershey Medical Center. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We stopped at the Hess and I got a soda and a doughnut as the Hess now has Dunkin Doughnuts in it to sell. We then headed back to Eville. Once back at the station I helped Tim restock his gear and then finished eating my pizza and checking a few things online and finally went to bed at 03:00 hours. I woke up this morning around 07:51 hours when I heard Zack and Stutzman come in. I got up and got the stuff back in my belt and then put my pillow away. I then pulled my lunch box out of the fridge and then got my scope and bag out of 6-5. I then clocked out and after I shot the shit for a little bit, I headed on up to Wal-Mart. Once at Wal-Mart I picked up a birthday card for my father's birthday, which is today, he turned 58 years old. I then stopped at Shell and got gas and then headed on home. Once at home I changed into my pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I got up this afternoon around close to 13:00 hours. I got up and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then walked 20 laps in the driveway and then got on the PS2 and played some NFL Head Coach. I got off at 16:30 hours and ate my two slices of homemade pizza that my mother had made last night while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things online. I then changed into street clothes and left the house around 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire house for the bingo meeting tonight. I got up there and went into the station and did my medical equipment checks real quick and then headed up to the hall. As I was heading up to the hall, LeeAnn pulled in and when I went into the hall Robin and Bill were already there. We shot the shit some and then we started talking about prices. Jess and Jaz then came up and we had about an hour long meeting detailing about the prices and different things we are going to try and do for one night each month. After the meeting was over, we sat down and came up with a list of businesses to go to and ask for door prizes for our Christmas Party. Bill left first and then Robin and Jaz left. The myself, Jess and LeeAnn then left. Jess headed on home and me and LeeAnn headed down to the fire station. LeeAnn got on the computer to type up a new bingo paper and I put the letters away from the sign that we took down Saturday and I got letters out to put on the board about regular bingo starting at the end of the month. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and then had a light snack. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
