Halloween Parade
I left the house last night around 19:20 hours. John had called me around 18:00 hours and told me to just come into Eville since there was no night time medic for Lykens which is where I was supposed to work last night. I stopped at Koppy's and got a bottle of Gatorade and something to munch on for the night and then headed to the Eville station. I got there and parked and took my stuff inside and clocked in. I put my Gatorade bottle in the fridge and then heard Flipper come in. I saw that I had 4 boxes of supplies sitting in the BLS Room. I then went through them and they were all ALS Supplies. So I took that stuff out to the ALS Room and put them away and I saw another box sitting in front of the restock cabinets in the bay and I put that stuff away. I also saws the boxes with the other 4 Reeves Stretchers in them and 6 boxes with the new shortboards/speedboards in them. John and Zack then got back and Zack left and took 6-3 back up to Lykens. Steve then came in and I had him take the rest of the stuff off of 6-1 and then John said that Boyer told him to tell me to put away all the stuff that came out of the old 6-1, which I did. Tim then came in and I had him listen to my lungs and he said that they sounded clear to him, which made me feel good. While me and Steve were working on the stuff, we heard Berrysburg get dispatched to a possible structure fire in Mifflin Township. Me and Steve got in 6-5 and headed over to the scene even though we weren't offically dispatched. We got there and it ended up being a gas stove fire, which was now out. I got to take a good look at Berrysburg's new Engine and then the box was placed in service and we headed on back. I ran up to Koppy's so Steve could get something to eat and then headed back to the station. Tim had run up to Lykens to garb something about the same time that we left for the fire call which was around 21:00 hours. Once back at the station I finished putting the stuff from 6-1 away and then marked up the Reeves and then took the speedboards into the day room and marked them up while we watched Iron Man on DVD. Tim then came back while we were watching the movie. I finally finished marking the boards and got them on 6-5, 6-7, and 6-8 and sat the two for the Lykens trucks out in the bay with the two Pediatric Backboards that need to go up to Lykens. I then sat down to watch the end of the movie. Once it was over, Steve went to sleep and I stayed up to watch Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. Around 00:45 hours the tones went off for an overdose in Williams Township. Tim handeled that call in the squad and then I finally went to sleep around 02:00 hours. I was rocked out of sleep at 05:00 hours when the tones went off for breathing problems in Lykens Borough. The lady that called ended up telling County that she didn't want an ambulance. Tim headed up in the squad and me and Steve headed up in 6-5 class 3 to check things out and once it was determined that no one was home at the residence, we headed back to the station. Once there I went back to sleep and was once again rocked out of sleep around 06:00 hours for a CVA in Mifflin Township. Tim took off in the squad and me and Steve headed off in 6-5. It ended up being a ALS call and Steve abd Tim took it and I took 6-2 back to the station. I ended up stopping at Koppy's so I could grab another bottle of Gatorade and then headed back to the station. I was wide awake and couldn't get back to sleep, so I stayed up and watched TV. Tindell then came in around 07:50 hours and then Matt came in at 08:00 hours and I clocked out and we actually ended up talking for about 45 minutes and then I left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I got up this morning around 11:55 hours. Once out of bed I ate lunch while I read the paper. I then changed into street clothes and ran into Giant and picked up two gallons of Diet Iced Tea and 3 bags of chips and a few other things and then headed on home. Once at home I put everything awat and then got on the PS2 to play a game of College Football. I played Illinois and won by a score of 96 to 72 I believe it was. It was a very high scoring game. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house around 18:00 hours. I got there and LeeAnn, Schoffstall, Andy and Kenny were already there and Troy was still coming also. It ended up being myself and Schoffstall in the Utility and Andy, Troy, Kenny, LeeAnn and Jaz in the Engine. We left around 18:45 hours and headed into the Halifax Borough Park. Once there me and Schoffstall moved our gear out of the back and we set the generator up on the rear of the tailgate and then put our gear back in and then set the lights up on the Utility to face foward. The parade was about as long as it usually is, which was a surprice considering that Millersburg also had their Halloween parade tonight. After we got back to the park and the parade was finished. Jess came up and picked up Jaz and we all talked for a little bit and then we left and headed up to Shell to get fuel in the trucks and top off the generator's with fuel and then headed back to the station. Once there I backed the Utility in and then Andy backed the Engine in. Katina was there waiting for Schoffstall. I then put my gear away and then we all talked for a little bit and then we all left and headed on home around 21:45 hours. Once at home I took a shower and had a light snack and now I am soon going to bed as I am tired.
