My Brand New Car

Well now that most everyone knows about my new car, I can finally talk about it in my blog. I got it Monday afternoon. Late Monday morning, around 11:00 hours my mother and me went down to the Members 1st Bank on Union Deposit Road to finalize my $10,000.00 loan for my car. It is a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LT and it has quite a few nice features in it. It has OnStar, XM Satalite Radio built in. Along with cruise control on my steering wheel, I have buttons to control the volume of the radio and to flip through my favorite stations. I also have a button that I can mute the radio if I get a cell phone call. It has traction control, roof rail air bags, front seat side air bags, tons of storage places in the car, fold down rear seats, a decent sized trunk with two small cargo nets. Aluminum wheels, chrome exhaust tip and the color was called Golden Teal. It had 74 miles on it when I picked it up from Troutman's on Monday. I spent 2 hours Monday afternoon getting everything back in my car and setting my radio stations. Almost everyone I know has seen it. I still need to show Bill and Robin. Jess has seen the outside, but not the inside and there are still a few in the fire company that haven't seen it yet. My brother and grandparetns don't know about it yet either. I am going to surprise my brother Saturday when he comes up and my grandparents when I go down to their house on Sunday. Now that I am done talking about my car, I will move on to my day yesterday and today.

I went to bed Tuesday night around 02:00 hours and got up Wednesday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my digital camera and suitcase and took them out to the kitchen. Once there I packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottles together. I left the house around 07:28 hours and headed up to Lykens to go to work. I stopped at the Tower Mini Mart in Lykens and got a newspaper and then headed to the station. Kathy and Tindell worked the night before. I got there and parked and got my stuff together and headed inside. The bay door was down so I had a feeling that they were out on a call. I went inside and sure enought the 1st due unit was gone. I put my lunch box and Gatorade bottles in the fridge and then clocked in. I then did a rig check on 6-7, which is now second due. Jim then came in and said that Kathy and Tindell would be back in a little over 1 hour as they had gone to Pottsville with breathing problems. I then filled out my paperwork while I ate breakfast. I then did 30 laps in the bay while Jim sat outside and also paced around the station waiting for them to get back with 6-8. While we were waiting for them to get back, around 08:30 hours the tones went off for a call in Northumberland County. Tim took that call with 6-2, but he ended up getting placed in service as the patient went to the hospital by pov. They finally got back a little after 09:00 hours. I talked to Kathy and Tindell for a little bit about the new car. Then around 09:30 hours the tones went off for syncope in Northumberland County. Me and Jim got in 6-8 and off we went. It ended up being at a chicken house in the egg packing room. Dalmatia was got there the same time we did. When we went in the lady said that she felt fine and Jim was going to get a refusal on her until he had me put the monitor on her and her heart rate was 50. So they ended up taking a ride up to Geisiner. I headed back to Lykens and stopped at the Shell and got fuel and then continued back to the station. Once there I finished reading the paper and then got on the computer to check a few things. Jim then called and said that they were leaving the hospital. I left Lykens around 12:00 hours and headed up to Dalmatia's station. I got there and parked and went inside their station to use the restroom and look around some. While I was sitting there, the tones went off for a call in Upper Paxton Township. Tim took that call in with 6-2 and went down to the hospital with Millersburg. When I came out they were backing up to the bay door. I moved Jim's gear over while he used the restroom and then we headed back to Eville. We stopped at Koppy's so Jim could grab something to eat for lunch and then we headed to the Eville station. Once back at the station UPS pulled up as we parked. Stutzman had opened up the bay door and he helped me carry the boxes in and over to the med room where I saw more boxes from my order that came in yesterday. I put all the supplies away and then I got to the box that had the case of Atropine in it. Somewhere along the line, the case got mishandeled as at least 2 or 3 vials that I can tell had the bottoms busted out and the fluid leaked all over the boxes and made the soggy and no good. I called Tri-Anim and they are sending us a replacement case. I also called Veramed and ordered 3 boxes of elctrodes. I then put another order in and then checked a few more things online. I heard Tim got available and right after he did, the tones went off for abdominal pains in Lykens Borough, class 1. Jim was in the crapper when it came in. I had Stutzman pull up the information on I/Net and it sounded like a BLS call, and it even said so in the information that the doctor said the patient didn't need ALS, but county said the card down there called for it. I said something to Stutzman about them following us up and he said ok. Jim came out after the second set of tones and we got in 6-8 and off we went class 3, with 6-5 coming behind us. We got up there and it ended up being BLS and Stutzman and Steve took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. Me and Jim then headed back to the Lykens station. Once there I sat down and watched TV while Jim did something on his computer. Jim then talked about getting hungry and walked down to Ciao's and got a sub. Boyer then stopped by and the three of us talked for a little bit. Then around 18:00 hours the fire tones went off for smoke from a structure in Wiconisco Township and our tones followed. I went over and hit the buttons to open the bay doors for the Engine and Truck and then we got in 6-8 and off we went along with 6-5 from Eville. We got there around the same time as Chief 23 and after they did a quick search, the box was placed in service and we headed back to the station. Once there I talked some to the guys from the fire company and then headed into the day room to watch TV around 19:00 hours. I then loaded everything up in my car around 20:00 hours since once again I didn't have a partner in Lykens and then headed on down to Eville. Once there I parked and took my stuff inside. Stutzman and Tim were waiting for me and after a few minutes we headed out to the truck to go get something to eat for dinner. Stutzman decided to let me drive and as I got in 6-5, the tones went off for a a call in Millersburg Borough. Tim once again took that call in 6-2 and me and Stutzman headed up to Burger King to grab something to eat for dinner. While we were sitting at Burger King eating dinner, I had my pager cracked up and heard Dalamtia get hit for a diabetic problem and they had Subury dispatched to come down for ALS. Once we were done eating, we headed back to the station and we both got on the computer and played some games. I then heard Tim go available around 23:00 hours and once again shortly there after the tones went off for brething problems in Lykens Borough. Me and Stutzman got in 6-5 and off we went. We hadn't heard Tim go responding yet and then we saw why as we saw the squad sitting at Koppy's and I saw him come out as we were going through the square. We got up there and got the lady loaded up and then they headed on down to Hershey and I took 6-2 back to the station. Once back at the station I watched some TV and then I believe I dozed off around 00:45 hours and I woke up around 01:45 hours when they came in the day room. I then laid back down around 02:00 hours and went back to sleep. I was rocked out of bed around 03:45 hours when the tones went off for chest pains in Wiconisco Township at Minnich Terrace, one of our frequent callers. I got up and got the stuff on my belt and got my boots on and Tim came out and got in the squad and off he went. I then went to the BLS room and woke Stutzman up and told him we had a call in Wiconisco. He got up after I went back in a second time and we got in 6-5 and off we went. We got there and checked the guy out and he really didn't need to go down, but he wanted to go down so we took him down BLS and I rode in the back. He slept most of the time and I know I nodded off a few times myself. We dropped him off at Harrisburg Hospital and once we got what we needed, we headed on back. I know I fell asleep in the unit on the way home because I remember going through Dauphin and then I remmebr waking up as we made the turn in the square of Eville to head to Shell to get fuel. We then went back to the station and I did my paperwork from the call and laid back down on the couch at 07:08 hours to get some more sleep. I woke up at 07:48 hours when I heard Tim putting his x-box away. I got up and got the stuff back in my belt and then got my boots on. I then put my pillow away and then clocked out and got on the computer and filled out my time card amendment form and then left and headed on home. Once at home my mother was still here, but she was getting ready to leave to head down to Harrisburg. I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I then rode the exercise bike downstairs for 15 minutes and then came back up stairs and read the Sentinel. My mother then got home and we talked for a little bit and then I got on the PS2 and played NFL Head Coach. I got off at 17:00 hours and made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I am soon getting ready to leave to go get my hair cut and then will be home, take a shower and then am going to check my email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy girls want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
