A Crazy Past 3 Days

I went to bed Wednesday night around 04:00 hours after looking at the owenr's manual to my new cell phone an I got up Thursday afternoon around 12:10 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I then went to work setting my new phone up and putting my phone numbers back in to the cell phone and make the general transition over to my new phone. I then made and ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV and did a few things online. I then changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house around 18:00 hours to help Katina move the tables around and get some things moved around for the Ham Dinner on Sunday. I got up there and no one was there, so I gave Katina and buzz and she said that she would be over after she finished eating dinner at Schoffstall's house and that LeeAnn would also be up after she was done eating dinner. I went in the hall and noticed that Katina had already moved the tables all around. I then swept the floor, went down to the station and got the water jugs down and took them up to the hall, then moved the tables around and set up those tables into the set up for the paper products we use to re-set the tables. I then moved the coffee machine out to the one table and then moved a few things around in the kitchen. LeeAnn then showed up around 19:00 hours and I helped her move some more stuff around in the kitchen. Katina then showed up, followed by Jaz and Jess. We started talking and decided to play a game of Phase 10. Jess then left and headed on down to the house after we were done with the game. Then myself, LeeAnn and Katina then went to work moving roasters around and a few other things. Then at 21:41 hours the tones went off for all available personnel from Companies 19, 216, and 29 to report to Station 19 to assist in a search detail. Me and LeeAnn took off for the fire house. Once there I kicked my shoes off and got my bunker pants on and then grabbed my jacket and helmet and put them on the hood of the Utility. I then opened up the Engine bay door and started the Engine up. Robby then called the station and told LeeAnn that he was heading to Station 19 and for us to bring the Utility. So she moved the Engine out and I pulled the Utility out and parked it in front of the Tanker bay door so I could run back inside and grab Robby's gear. As I started back towards the station, the phone rang again and once again it was Robby. Meanwhile Andy was on the phone with LeeAnn and said he was on his way to the station. Robby said to scratch what he had just said and that we would be taking the Engine now. So I backed the Utility back in while LeeAnn backed the Engine around and grabbed Robby's gear and then I shut the Engine bay door and waited for Robby and Andy to get there. Jean showed up and came over to the Engine to ask me what we had and I told her it was to assist with a search detail. SHe asked me if she should grab water and some snacks and I said that I would. Once Robby got there he said that Troy and Lonny were now heading to Station 19 also and that he wanted me to bring the Utility also. So I grabbed my gear out of the back of the Engine and went over to the Engine bay door and opened it up again and threw my gear back in the front seat of the Utility and pulled the Utility out again and then shut the door. We then went responding and headed on over to Station 19. Once there we signed in and once everyone from Company 29 got there and signed in, Dave Warefl briefed us on what the situation was. There was a hunter in his early 60's lost in the woods, who was a diabetic, and had a leg injury. We then loaded up into the apparatus and POV's and headed up to the parkling lot at Hand Board to stage. Once there I grabbed the portable radio out of the Utility and I grabbed the one box light and Schoffstall who rode over with me, grabbed the other box light and we went over to the command post. They then split us up into 4 different teams on foot and there were also 3 ATV's running around and two of them were equipped with night vision goggles. We walked in for about 2 miles and we met up with two rangers from the Game Commission and also Jason and Chuck from the Carsonville Hotel. The Rangers asked for a County fire radio and I said that I was responsible for it. They then also said about one of us going along with them with a radio. I said that I would go if it was ok with the team leader, who was Keith Pottiger. He said it was ok and off we went and headed up to 9:00 run. We got there and by that time the PSP Chopper had been in the air for at least 20 minutes. I took the opportunity to relieve myself and then we heard Command 19 giving units cordinates from the hunter's cell phone and within a short time, the chopper was circling his general area, which put him at the Jackson Township, Jefferson Township line. We were less then a quarter of a mile from the trail that he was said to be off of, so we turned around and headed back to that trail and took it until we got under the choppers position. 2 of the 3 ATV's also headed to the scene and were there by the time we got there. He wanted to walk out himself, and Alf and Kim helped him and I helped lead the way and scout out suitable footing and we got him back out to the main trail and then they brought him out in the one ATV and I got a ride back out with the Rangers. Once we debriefed, we all went available and could return. I dropped Schoffstall off at Station 19 and then headed into Shell and got fuel for the Utility and then headed back to the station. Once there the Engine was there and everyone was inside and they had the Engine bay door opened. I backed the Utility in and then plugged it in and grabbed my bunker gear out of the Utility and put it back in my stall and put my shoes back on. We then shot the shit for a little bit and then Robby said that they were heading into Shell to get fuel for the Engine and the generator as we had used it to supply lighting at the upper parking lot. We then stopped at Sheetz so they could get something to eat and then we headed back to the station. Once there I filled out the run sheet for the call and then I left around 03:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I hopped in the shower quickly and took a shower and then went to sleep around 04:00 hours. I got up at 06:30 hours Friday morning when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my digital camera and my suitcase and took them out to the kithcen. I then packed my lunch and left the house around 06:45 hours and headed on up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Swab's to take a look at the body for the squad and they had done a little bit more to it since me and Bubba were there Wednesday. I got a few pictures and talked to Jay for a few minutes and then I went over to the office and picked up a t-shirt for Troy and one for Tonita and then headed to the Eville station. I got there and parked and took my stuff inside and clocked in. No one was there as both medics had to leave at 06:00 hours and Jim told Stutzman to head up to Lykens to make a BLS truck up since he was there for a 24 hour shift for Friday. Jim came in and he was my medic for the day and Wertz was up in Lykens with Stutzman. I checked supplies and did a rig check on 6-7 and then we headed up to Special Place around 08:45 hours to eat breakfast. I had my usual, a side order of bacon and a side order of white toast. I had finished eating breakfast and paid for my meal when the tones went off for chest pains in Mifflin Township at Pine Creek Structures. Me and Jim took that call in 6-7 and once we got there and got the guy loaded up, we headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back to Eville. I stopped at the Shell in Halifax and got fuel for the truck and then we continued on back to Eville. Once back I helped Jim restock his gear and then I sat down on the couch and read the paper. Apparently over Thursday night Boyer had Stutzman and Steve move all the furniture around in the day room and everything is in a new place now, and most of us don't like the set up. But anyway back to what I was saying, I read the paper and then I ate lunch while watching TV. We then headed over to the Great Gratz Mall around 15:00 hours so Jim could pick up a few things. I got 4 beef sticks from Troutman's Meat's and then stopped at Koppy's on the way back and picked up one of those small Ellio's pizza's for dinner and a 20 ounce soda to go with it and then we headed back to the station. Once back at the station I got on the computer to play a few games. I then put my pizza in around 16:30 hours and ate that while I watched some TV. I then took a small nap on the one couch in the day room and woke up around 19:30 hours. Tracey didn't come in at 20:00 hours and Jim tried to call him but got his voice mail. Well the Lykens crew of Tim and Stutzman came down and Jim asked Stutzman to call him and he said that he wasn't on the schedule for the night. So Jim called Kunst and he came in and did the night shift. Around 00:30 hours the tones went off for us to respond to Pillow Borough in place of Northumberland Ambulance 62 and stage to assist PSP with a huge fight they had up there. As I was getting ready to responding, Ambulance 62 went responding and we were placed in service. I had just laid down when around 01:31 hours the tones went off for an unknown problems, class 2 in Washington Township. It was our frequent flyer crazy lady. I got the stuff back in my belt and my boots on and got in the truck with Kunst and put us responding, at which time County told us that the patient called back and didn't want an ambulance to come to the house, so we went available and I went back into the day room and laid back down on the couch. Kunst got a soda and decided to stay up and ended up watching TV while I slept. Then around 02:10 hours the tones went off again for breathing problems at the same place. I got up again and got the stuff back on my belt again and got my boots on again and got back in 6-7 and off we went. We got there and she was not having any breathing problems. We ended up getting a refusal on her and went back to the station. Once back at the station I entered my trip sheet into the computer and had once again just laid down when around 03:10 hours the tones went off again to assist PSP with a 302 commitment to the same address again. I once again repeated what I did the past 2 times and PSP wanted us to stage with them having a 30 minute ETA to the scene and we ended up going to the scene and I ended up talking to the main dispatch center for PSP and we took her down to Osteopathic Hospital. After we got what we needed there we headed on back. I had Kunst stop at Sheetz for me and I grabbed two of those chicken biscuit sandwhich's and we headed back up through. We got back to the station at 05:03 hours and I went in and clocked out as Zach was already there. I then did my tripsheet and then clocked out and left by 05:30 hours. I ran up to Shell and ran my car through the automatic car wash and then headed on home and was home by 05:45 hours. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. My mother woke me up at 08:30 hours this morning so I could get dressed and we could get moving down to the cemetary for my grandmother's funeral services this morning. I got up and changed in to nice street clothes and we left the house by 08:50 hours and headed on down to the cemetary. I drove my car and my father and mother went in my mother's van. We had private services with just immediate family members at the cemetary and then we all headed back to the house for a little bit. Jack and Sherly talked my Grandfather into going down to Hoss's to eat lunch like they normally do, so me and my father left in my car and my mother stayed to talk with her best friend Bev. We then ran over to Sam's Club and I picked up a pumpkin pie for the Ham Dinner tomorrow and then my father bought us lunch at Sam's. We then ran over to my uncle's house in Enola so he could take a look at my new car and then we headed on home. Once at home I changed t-shirts and then headed up to the fire house to help with getting the final things done for the ham dinner tommorrow. I helped sweep, House mopped and when I got there Bubba had me go down to the computer and make up some signs for the desinated smoking area outside which they had set up. I then helped Jess move the slices of cake for the take-outs around and helped move some stuff around in the kitchen and then we set the chairs down and got the tables covered and set up for tomorrow. Katina and Schoffstall left after Jess left first, then Troy left and then Lonny showed up. He helped with what little was left to do and then he went down to Bubba and Robin's house to visit. Then myself, LeeAnn, House and Michelle played Phase 10 in the hall and we placed na order with Pizza Delight for dinner as I was getting hungry and hadn't eaten since 11:30 this morning. I then left up there around 21:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now soon going to bed as I am tired.
