The end of 2008

Well another year has come and gone and once again it is time for my annual reflection on the year month by month.
January saw me start working full time at Medic 6 after working part time for 6 months.
February saw the 6 of us at the fire house start review classes for Firefighter 1.
March continued the FF1 review courses and the plans for the new building started to take some shape.
April saw me successfully take and pass my FF1 written and practical test.
May naturally saw me turn 23 at the end of the month and we had a very successful scrap day also at the end of the month at the fire house.
June saw the Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Convention where I was voted in as Senior Vice-President and Wiconisco also agreed to host the 2010 Convention.
July saw one of the best Festival's I have seen since I started in the fire company, it also saw me take and pass Pump Ops 1.
August saw the Halifax Carnival which was another successful money making venture for us with the candy wheel and the four-wheeler.
September saw the New Jersey State Firemen's Convention where we all had a good time and the end of the month saw me purchase a brand new car.
October would mark the start of the construction of the new Squad for the fire company and also marked the down hill turn for my Grandmother.
November was a sad month with the passing of my Grandmother at the beginning of the month and Thanksgiving was hard on us all without her.
December saw me damage my new car by sliding into the oil tank at the fire house. It also saw me get 4 awards at the Fire Company Christmas Party. It also saw me be voted in as the new Secretary for the fire company and the Firemen's Releif. Again Christmas and now New Years's was and is going to be hard on everyone without Grandma.
As I look foward into 2009 there are some things I see in the future. 2009 will see me take on the task of being the Secretary, the completion of the Squad, hopefully breaking ground on the new building, become President of the County Firemen's Association, continuing my full time job at Medic 6, and hopefully finding my sinificant other.

And now on to my regular blog. I left the house last night around 19:15 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and grabbed a soda and something to munch on while I watched the bowl game between Oklahoma State and Oregon. I then headed to the station. When I got there they were out on a call. So I parked and took my stuff inside and put my stuff in the fridge and clocked in. I then checked and restocked suppled and then put an order in. I then sat down and started watching the football game. Zach and Bowser then got back from their call and I did a quick rig check on 6-4 and then went back to watching the game. Oregon beat Oklahoma State. I then watched the Discovery Channel until 03:00 hours and then I went back into the BLS room and laid down to try and get some sleep. I didn't actually fall asleep until around 04:30 hours and I got up at 07:45 hours when the alarm on my cell phone went off. I got up and got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and then took my suitcase out to the day room and then got my stuff out of 6-4 and took them into the day room also. Kathy then came in and I clocked out and then I gave her the report on 6-4 and then we talked for a little bit. I then left and stopped at Swab's to see if they had done anything to the body yet, and they haven't resumed construction on it yet as they have other things they have to get done before they go back to working on our body. I then went over into the paint shop to look at this Hahn that Bubba has been talking about. It is very nice looking, and this is coming from a Mack man. I then left Swab's and headed on home. As I was coming down our street my mother called me to see where I was at and I told her I was getting ready to pull into the driveway. She said that Troutman's called and me car was ready. So I took my stuff inside and then left and headed up to Millersburg to pick up my car. I got there and looked over my car first before I headed in to pay for it. I then got in my car and headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed. I got up this afternoon around 13:30 hours and I got out of bed and read the paper. I then got on the computer and played Emergency 3 some more again today. I ate dinner while I played and watched another bowl game on TV. Then around 18:40 hours the tones went off for a transformer arching in the township. I yelled to my father to get dressed since I knew quite a few people went out to Indiana and we were going to need a driver. I got my jeans and shoes on and grabbed my jacket and then got in my car and headed to the station. I got up there and Schoffstall was already there and I parked beside him and went in the station. He was just finishing getting his bunker gear on when I came in. I kicked my shoes off and told him that my father was coming so we were going to have a driver. So he went over and started the Engine up and then opened the Engine bay door. My father then pulled up and he came in and Schoffstall said that he would close the bay door. So I told my fold my father to pull out and wait on the ramp to see if anyone else was going to show up. I realized it had been quite some time since they had redispatched us and I thought that they forgot to redispatch us so I told him to just go ahead and I put us responding. We got on the scene and it was by the Armstrong Bible Church again. Jean was already there when we pulled in and then Ray, Andy, Jason, and House and Michelle came in after us. We basically baby sat it until PP&L showed up shortly after we told county that we were heading back. Jason sent my father and Schoffstall back with the Engine about 10 minutes before PP&L showed up so the pump wouldn't freeze on it. Jason gave me a ride back to the station since Lonny had all of his shit in the passenger's seat of the Utility. When we got back my father was just backing the Engine back into the station. I went in and took my bunker gear off and Jason filled out a run sheet. We all then left and headed on home. Once at home I started watching the Peach Bowl. I then took a shower during half time and then watched the end of it. Not really an exciting bowl game as LSU blew Geogoria Tech out of the water. I then setteled in and waited until midnight to ushed in 2009. So I am now hitting the old email and suring the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!

The Loaner Car

I went to bed last night around 03:30 hours and I woke up this morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed in street clothes and grabbed my check book and calander and then something light for breakfast and then got in my car and left the house around 07:20 hours and headed up to Troutman's in Millersburg to drop off my car to get worked on. I got up there and dropped my car off and picked up my loaner car, a 2005 Chevrolet Colbalt. I then got a few things out of my car that I am going to need for work and then I headed back to Halifax. I stopped at Sheetz and got a chicken biscuit for breakfast and a Yooho to drink and then headed on down to Harrisburg to see Dr. T. I was a little early so I went over to the cemetary to visit my grandmother and I talked to her for about 10 minutes and then left and headed to the doctor's office. I met my mother there and she went in first and then I went in. When she was done she said she was going to head on home, which she did. After I was done I did a little shopping. I first went to the bank and cashed my check and moved some money around. I then stopped at Best Buy to see if they had any Twisted Sister CD's, which they didn't, but I got an AC/DC CD. I then went to Kohl's to get a gift card, then to Border's to look for Twisted Sister, then Cirucit City, with no luck at either place. I then went to Target and got two notebooks and a card and looked again for the CD with no luck. I then ate lunch at Pizza Hut and then I left and headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and put $10.00 worth of gas into the car and then stopped at Rite Aid and got my perscription filled and then headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then got on the computer to play some more Emergency 3. My parents then left to go down to Candy Lane at Hershey Park. I ate dinner while I played on the computer and watched the bowl games for the day. I then took a shower and finished watching the Alamo Bowl between Missouri and Northwestwern. It went into overtime and Missouri won, which does not bode well for Big Ten teams as Wisconscion lost two days ago. I am now checking the old email and going to surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk, just give me a buzz.

Slowly coming to an End

I went to bed last night around 04:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 13:20 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the computer and played Emergency 3 for about 6 hours. I ate dinner while I played the game and then also watched the start of yet another bowl game. I then got off around 21:30 hours and took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Addicted to the Game

I went to bed last night around 04:10 hours and got up this afternoon around 14:00 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played some Burnout 3. I then got off around 17:20 hours and made and ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched some more of the Bowl Games on EPSN. My mother then came home after 18:00 hours as she had gone down to visit her best friend. I then installed the "Emergency 3" game that my father got for himself and me on my computer. I played it for almost 4 hours and now I am addicted to it and can't wait to play it some more tomorrow. I am soon going to bed then as I am tired.

Structure Fire in Millersburg

I went to bed last night around 03:30 hours and got up this afternoon at 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got on the PS2 and played some Burnout 3. My parents then got home from doing some after Christmas shopping. I helped them bring some stuff in and then I made and ate dinner while I watched the Dirty Jobs Marathon on TV and did a few things online. Then sometime after 18:00 hours Millersburg got dispatched for smoke in a structure that quickly got updated to a working structure fire. I was sitting here listing to it when Bubba called my cell phone. He asked if I was working and I said no and he said about the fire in Millersburg and I told him I was listening to it. He then said that it had flashed over on the crews and said about heading up to the station awhile incase they called us. He said that Jason Faust would go if we got called and he said about getting ahold of Schoffstall. I said I would tell my father and Bubba said about getting a crew together because if we would get called they would probally need us right away. So I told my father and I changed into street clothes and then headed up to the station. I got there and parked and then LeeAnn pulled in and then my father pulled in. Lonny then showed up and then Schoffstall and Katina, and then Andy and Barb showed up. We sat there and listened to county and at one point they told command 20 that 29 had a second crew and we had a crew in station, and then they hit for 29's second engine for manpower to assist on the scene. Then a little later on County told Command 20 that Rescue 23 was in Station 21, Engine 37-1 was on their way to Station 29 and we had a crew in station. Andy and Barb left first and then we all stayed until around 21:30 hours, about an hour after that had marked control on the fire. Once at home I ate a light snack and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

I went to bed last night around 04:00 hours and was woken up this morning around 08:45 hours to open gifts. My brother didn't come up this year so he could help my grandfather get things ready for today and also so my grandfather wouldn't be alone for Christmas Eve. It took us all of about 15 to 20 minutes to open the gifts, a big change from even as little as 2 to 3 years ago when it took us at least an hour. I got what I wanted, especially the book on Hugh Hefner. I also got some boxers, socks, another dress shirt, another pair of pj bottoms, a wooden snowman firefighter ornament, a wooden ambulance with a snowman driver, a Mr. Goodbar, some fire figurines for my bookcase, an Emergency Worker key chain, and the usual deoderant and body spray. I then went back to bed to get some more sleep. All morning long I got my usually text messages from my friends wishing me a Merry Christmas. I then got up at 11:30 hours and changed into street clothes and then we loaded up into my mother's van and headed on down to my grandfather's house. We stopped at the cementary first to wish my grandmother a Merry Christmas and then headed over to the house. We ate dinner a little after 13:00 hours and once again my grandfather's ham was so delicous. My grandfather then opened his gifts that we got him and my brother opened his gifts that we got him and then the rest of us opened the gifts that my brother and grandfather got for us. We then munched on the various deserts and did a lot of talking. We then left around 18:00 hours to head on home. We looked at some Christmas lights and then headed on home. Once at home I helped bring what little we had in the car in and then I headed up to the fire house. I did a few dishes in the hall after talking to LeeAnn to see if she had cleaned the hall or not, and then I did some sectoral work on the computer in the station and then headed on home around 21:30 hours. Once at home I took a shower and had a light snack and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Christmas Eve

I went to bed last night around 03:40 hours and got up this morning at 10:50 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and then read the paper. I then got my santa suit and stuff ready and headed up to the fire house shortly after 12:00 hours and met Katina up there. I got up there and parked beside the old fire house. Once up there I took my stuff inside the fire house and then salted both concrete pads and then I headed up to the fire hall and Katina pulled in around that time. The front walk into the hall was a solid sheet of ice, so I put salt down on that and then we went in and saw that some new leaks had developed in the hall, mostly in the kitchen, but there was one in the hall area in front of the bingo machine. We spent about 45 minutes chasing leaks around and putting buckets under them and taking ceiling tiles out in the kitchen to keep them from getting wet and to let the wet ones dry. Kenny came over and then Bubba came up around 15:00 hours. I went down to the fire house around 16:30 hours and started getting dressed around 16:45 hours. I went up to the hall a little after 17:00 hours and there wasn't a whole lot of kids there. I got my annual visit from Jess while up at the hall along with my annual visit from Jean. I then left at 18:00 hours and we headed down to the fire house. Bubba put some icecicle lights on the Engine and we decided that since it was not raining at the time that I would go up in the chair, so they got that up on top. I sat up top for in town and the development off of Tourist Park Road, and by the time I got off, it was starting to rain. I sat in the cab when we stopped at Biarley's and when we went through my development. By the time we got into Enders, it had stopped raining and I went back up top and put trash bags down on the seat at least until the fabric had dried from the wind and the heat from the quartz lights. We hit three mode developments and then we stopped at Shell to get fuel for the generator and the truck and then we headed back to the station. Once there I changed back into my street clothes and then got my gear out of the Engine. I then put my stuff back in my car and then me and LeeAnn headed up to the hall and then Jess came up after taking Jaz down to the house. Brian then showed up and then Troy came in and then Lonny came in. We then talked to well after midnight and I left around 00:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I brought everything in and put it away and then took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Very Busy Day at Work

I went to bed Saturday night around 02:30 hours and got up at 06:50 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my digital camera and suitcase and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and then left the house a little after 07:00 to head to Lykens to go to work. I stopped at Eville first to pick up the equipment stickers. Stutzman was out back smoking when I pulled in and we talked a little. He asked me if I had heard what happened to 6-7 on Friday and I said no. Apparently when Bruce and Wertz were coming back from Lebanon, a tree fell and hit the truck damaing it. We then went inside and I got the stickers and then left to head up to Lykens. I stopped at Koppy's and got a newspaper and two bottles of Gatorade and then continued up to Lykens. While I was at the Eville station, the Lykens crew got hit for a fall vcitim in the borough, so I knew they were out. I got there and parked and took my stuff inside and put my stuff in the fridge and then clocked in. John Schultz and another one of 22's guys were out in the bay as I heard them talking. So I went out and we talked a little bit and they asked what happend to 6-7 and I told them. The truck had gone out to help 6-5 pick the lady up and then they went available and came back. It was Zack and Audrey Saturday night as there was no medic in Lykens last night. I then did a rig check and then Kuntz came in. I then sat down and read the paper while I ate breakfast. After I did that I got on the computer and filled out my rig check form and checked a few other things. I then set out on the task of tagging all the equipment with the stickers. Jim Hoffman came in around 11:00 hours as they were getting ready for their santa run, and we talked until they were ready to leave. I took a break at noon and ate lunch while I checked a few things online. Then around 12:45 hours the tones went off to assist PSP with an accident victim in Washington Township. 6-3 handled the call and then I ran Kuntz over to Don's Food Rite so he could get something to eat for lunch. We came out and got in the truck and started towards the station when the tones went off for breathing problems in Lykens Borough. We went responding and once we got on scene, we got the lady loaded and took her down to Osteo. We got down there and moved her over and the nurse that came over to take report from Kuntz was Lyla that I had graudrated with in high school. After I did my thing and she finished the paperwork we talked for a few minutes. After we got what we needed, we headed on back to Lykens. Once there I went back to tagging the equipment with the stickers. I again took another break around 18:00 hours to call down to Ciao's and get something to eat for dinner. Around 18:10 hours the tones went off for breathing problems in Upper Paxton Township. 6-3 took that call and I went down and got my dinner and came back up and ate it while I checked a few things on the computer and then went back to tagging equipment. I then went out into 6-7 to start marking some thigns and Stutzman called my cell phone and asked me if we knew that we had a call at the Wiconisco Fire Station and I said no that the tones never went off. I went in and told Kuntz that we had a call and that Stutzman had called me. So we got in 6-5 and off we went. We got there and got the lady loaded up, it was one of their firefighter who fell while getting off of their santa trailer and landed on her elbow. We took her down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. We stopped at Eville so I could drop off the two backboards that we picked up and then we headed back up to Lykens. Once there back I went to tagging the equipment. I finally finished tagging everything around 03:48 hours in the morning. I then fixed something in the back of 6-7 and then hosed down 6-5 and then went in and got on the computer to check a few things and laid down around 05:00 hours to go to sleep. The tones went off at 06:49 hours for a sick person in Wiconisco Township. We got up and I got the stuff back on my belt and got my boots on and then we got in 6-5 and off we went. After we loaded the guy up we took him up to Pottsville General. After we got what we needed we headed on back. We made a quick stop at Dunkin Doughnuts and I got something to eat for breakfast and then we headed back. Once back at the station I turned the truck over to Zack and Audrey and then did my chart and then clocked out and left to head on home. I stopped at the Eville station and checked on a few things and then stopped at Swab's. They still hand't done anything more to the body yet, so I headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I got up this afternoon around 16:00 hours and I read the paper. I just finished eating dinner and am now getting ready to head up to the fire house for a little bit. I will then come back and take a shower and then am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

3 Weeks of College Bowl Games

I went to bed last night around 03:45 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then went downstairs and did my 5 miles on the exercise bike. I then got on the PS2 and played some Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. My parents then came home from a day of shopping and I helped them bring some stuff in from my mother's van. I then finished playing on the PS2 and then got on the computer to do a few things and watch the end of the St. Petersburg Bowl Game. Today marks 3 solid weeks of College Football Bowl games. I then ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched the Bowl game. I then took a shower and am now switching between the Las Vegas Bowl and the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship Game between #1 Penn State and #2 Stanford. I am also getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Santa Postponed

I went to bed last night around 02:45 hours and got up this afternoon around 15:00 hours as I decided to catch up on my sleep today. Robin had called me earlier in the morning around 10:20 hours and told me that after her and Jean talked they decided to cancel Santa for tonight do to the freeezing rain we were having. So now we are going to do it an hour before we are slated to leave Christmas Eve for our around the township tour. Once I got up I read the paper and then got on the computer to type something up. I ate dinner while I worked on the article and watched MASH on TV. Today also marked the looooooooooooong stay of my father being off of work from now until January 2nd of next year. Hopefully we won't kill each other during that time frame. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Getting Closer to Christmas

I went to bed last night around 04:00 hours and woke up this afternoon at 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I decided not to eat lunch since it would soon be time to eat dinner. My mother came home while I was reading the paper and I talked to her for a little bit. I then wrapped another Christmas present and then got on the PS2 and played some Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I then got off and made and ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched MASH on TV. I then changed into street clothes and left around 18:00 hours and headed on down to County for EMA training. Training went good as we did a 2008 review and looked foward to what trainings we are looking to have in 2009. We left there around 20:00 hours and I headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then stopped at Giant and picked up a gallon of Diet Iced Tea for me and then continued on home. Once at home I took a shower and just took the trash out. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

First Round of Santa

I left the house last night around 19:00 hours to head up to Lykens since it was snowing out and there was already at least 1-1/2 to 2 inches of snow on the ground already. The roads were ok, except my delveopment and Creek Drive weren't plowed yet, but they were passable. I got to the station a little after 19:30 hours and took my stuff inside and I clocked in. I then did a quick rig check on 6-7. I was with Tony for the night and I was happy since it has been months since I last worked with Tony. Then right at 20:00 hours the tones went off for an accident with injuries in Wiconisco Township, just outside of Lykens, where I had just come through about 20 minutes earlier. We got in 6-7 and off we went. It was head on collision with injuries only in the van, where Wiconisco had to take the driver's side door off so we could get both patients out. We loaded both of them into our truck and Tony rode down in the back with them and we went to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back up through. I stopped at Sheetz for Tony and then we stopped at the Eville station so I could restock on backboards and the extrication bag and then we headed back up to Lykens. Once back at the station I hosed the rig down and then complied a list of the items I want to tag at work Sunday. Steve did get the wrong size tags and when I said something to him he told me to just trim them to size. I then watch Dirty Jobs on TV until 02:00 hours and then I got on the computer to check a few things. I then decided to sleep in one of the truck so I wouldn't keep Tony up with my snoring. So I laid down in 6-7 first, but tossed and turned for at least two hours because it was to hot in there since we had a space heater on. I then went back and laid down in 6-5 which was the second due rig and didn't have a heater in. When I laid down it was 04:30 hours. I got up at 07:45 hours when my alarm went off. I got the stuff back on my belt and got my boots on and then went back into the day room and put my pillow away and then got the stuff out of 6-7 that was mine. Jim then got there and then Kathy showed up and I clocked out and then we ended up talking out in the bay for a little bit. I then left and stopped at Wal-Mart. I got two Christmas cards and a few other things. I then stopped at the Eville station and then stopped at Swab's but they still hadn't started any new construction on the body, so I headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and after talking to my mother for a little bit, I went back to bed to get some more sleep. I got up this afternoon at 13:00 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then wrapped Christmas presents and then got on the PS2 and played some Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I then got off around 17:00 hours and made and ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched MASH on TV. I then got my Santa suit together and left the house around 17:45 hours and headed up to the fire hall for bingo tonight. I came in as Santa during halftime and handed out Navel's to all the players and then went back down and changed and then called the second half of bingo. Bingo was pretty good tonight with 26 players, the most we have had in awhile. After bingo was over we took care of a few things and then I left a little after 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to be going to bed as I am tired.

The Ever Changing Weather

I went to bed last night around 04:00 hours and got up this afternoon at 12:45 hours. My father took a vacation day and stayed home today. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then did a few more Christmas cards and then got some of my gifts together so I can wrap them tomorrow. I then got on the PS2 to play some Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. While I was on the PS2, my father came back around 16:30 hours and said that it was now snowing out. Since last night I have been following the weather very closely as I am concerned about tomorrow night, Friday night and Christmas Eve. I am now getting ready to eat dinner and do a few things on the computer while I watch MASH on TV. After I am done eating dinner I am then going to get ready to go to work tonight. I want to leave a little earlier then I usually do since it is snowing out. I will be back online sometime tomorrow afternoon and then again tomorrow night.

I went to bed last night around 04:20 hours and woke up this afternoon at 12:45 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then got the mail and then went downstairs and did my 5 miles on the exercise bike. I then came back upstairs and got on the PS2 and played Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. My mother got home from my grandfather's house around 14:45 hours and I helped her bring some stuff in from the her van. We then talked a little until my brother called her for his daily talk and I got back on the PS2. I then got off at 17:00 hours and made dinner and I am now eating dinner while I do a few things online and watch MASH on TV. Once I am done eating dinner I am going to go grab a shower and then am going to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

Fire Company Christmas Party

I went to bed Friday night around 03:10 hours I believe it was and I got up Saturday afternoon at 12:10 hours when Bubba called my cell phone and asked me if I wanted to go along with him to get the beer, which I said wasn't a problem. So I decided to use the bathroom before I went up and Bubba called me back and said that Robin had to go to Eville so she was going to go with him, but he asked me if I could help Lonny go through the remaining fruit in the trailer again. Sp I changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house. I got there and LeeAnn and Katina were there. LeeAnn and Lonny were in the trailer and I got in to help go through the fruit. I got my two extra cases of Large Navels for the lady at Tab's. LeeAnn and Katina then left to go deliver her extra fruit and then Schoffstall showed up and he helped me and Lonny go through the extra fruit. I then loaded my cases up and then once LeeAnn and Katina got back I helped them get some things set up in the hall. I then left around 13:50 hours and headed into town to drop off the two cases of fruit. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate lunch and read the paper. I then got on the computer to do a few things. I then changed into my dress clothes for the Christmas Party and left the house at 16:30 hours and headed up to the fire hall. I got there and Bubba , Katina, LeeAnn and House and Michelle were already there. People slowly started to come in. Once New Buffalo came in, Bubba asked me to go down with the station with him to go over the trucks with the guys from New Buffalo. We then had the meal which again was very delicous. I had 3 slices of ham and a stuffed chicken breast and a piece of chocolate cake. Then it was time for the awards to ge given out. Bubba first gave out the certificates to the mutual aid companies and then he went into the fire company awards. My father got the Hose Head Award. LeeAnn got the Most Imrpoved Firefighter, I got the Raymond Urich, Sr. Award. Schoffstall got Top Responder with me being second and my father third. Jean got Top Fire Police, and I got Top Training with Troy being second and LeeAnn was third. Bubba then gave out the three chief's awards with two going to Troy and Lonny and the last one going to Tom Welker. Bubba then gave a plaque to the five that passed Firefighter 1 so far. Then it was time for the funny awards. I got the bent metal award and a speed limit sign for hitting the oil tank and fire station last Tuesday night. I also got the Indian Rake Hanlde that I broke back on the ridge fire in Halifax Township. Dave then got a grant application for a tiller. Bubba then got a leash and a pair of steel toed slippers for him to wear. We then watched the slide show and then they handed out the job sweats and bags and then they gave out the door prizes. Then it was time for Karoke. My father actually got up and sang one song with me. Everyone I think had a very good time. Again I don't know how many beers I had. I know I started drinking when Bubba started to hand out the awards. After me, Troy and Bubba helped Lee pack his stuff up, I left and headed on home around 04:30 hours. Once at home I changed into pj's and went bed to get some sleep. I woke up this afternoon around 12:20 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper. I still had a slight headache, so I went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke back up at 16:45 hours. I then ate dinner and then changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house for my father's con-ed class tonight. After class was over I got my father to help me set the tables back up and then he headed on home. I then swept the floor and mopped some of the bad looking areas. I then wiped the tables down and then put the rest of the chairs up. I then took the trash out and replaced the bags. I then took all of the beer out of the cooler that me and Troy carried down to the fire station last night, and put it in the station fridge. Lonny was over in the fruit trailer and when I came out of the station he was already done and came down by the station. I took the light out of the back of his truck and he brought the key in and then wrapped the extension cord up and put it back on the Engine. We both then left. I called Robin to tell her that I took care of everything in the hall and the beer in the station, but it went to her voice mail. So I then called Jess since I saw that she was home when I left. I told her and then we ended up talking about the party last night. I then came inside and then Robin called me back and I told her what I had just told Jess. I then took a shower and had a light snack and am soon going to go to bed as I am tired.

Running My First Booster Meeting

I went to bed last night around 04:30 hours and woke up this afternoon at 13:30 hours. I got out of bed and read the paper while I munched on a pack of crackers. I then got on the PS2 and played Burnout 3 for a little bit. I then ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched MASH on TV. I then changed into street clothes and loaded the two cases of fruit in my car for Sue and Jerry and then got my stuff that I needed for the Booster Meeting and then left around 17:45 hours and headed on down to Chambers Hill for the meeting. The meeting went very good I thought considering it was the first one I ran as Senior Vice-President. I won the 50/50 drawing for the money which was $18.00. I then left and headed on home. I stopped at Sheetz and got gas and then continued on home. Once at home I took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk, just give me a buzz.

The Price During a Busy Day

I went to bed Tuesday night around 02:00 hours and got up Wednesday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and grabbed my digital camera and suitcase and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottles together. I then left the house around 19:24 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and picked up a paper and then continued to the station. Once there I parked and got my stuff together and took it inside and clocked in. I then put my stuff in the fridge and then did a quick rig check on 6-8. I then put my stuff in 6-8 and then got on the computer to fill out the proper form and I also ate my breakfast. I then read the paper while Jim did a few things. I believe the tones went off around 10:00 hours for a call for the Lykens crew that was a BLS call. The tones then went off again 10:34 hours for a sick person in Mifflin Township. Me and Jim took that and once we got on the scene and got the lady loaded up we took her down to Holy Spirit Hospital, BLS. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. While I had been on Holy Spirit getting the buffer sheet, Jim heard that we had a call in Wiconisco Township that 24 was coming down in to take and it sounded like it was up in the State Game Lands as it was off of Fire Tower Road. We then heard 24 ask County about Life Lion. We thought we heard 6-5 say that they would head that way, but we heard wrong. 6-5 was actually 1/2 a mile behind us on 322 and called in an accident that happened right in front of them and they ended up transporting one to Harrisburg Hospital. Meanwhile we decided to start making our way up to the call in Wiconisco Township. Steve went on the air with the squad to handle the call and we headed up that way to assist him. Jim had me stop at the Shell in Lykens to he could get something to eat since his blood sugar was starting to go low. While we were heading to the scene, County asked us if we could take another call and after checking with Boyer said we could. We then went to the Family Practice Center in Lykens Borough for breathing problems. We got there and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Osteo. I think Lyla is now working for Pinncle Health as I swear she was working as a nurse in the ER. I never got a chance to find out as they we very busy. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at Sheetz and got a meatball sub to eat and then we continued on back to the station. Once back at the station, I helped Jim restock and then got on the computer to do my chart. That was when I found out that EmStat was fucked up. I ended up having to use the laptop and disconnect from the wireless internet so I could type my chart. The tones then went of around 16:25 hours for a diabetic problem in Williamstown Borough. 6-5 handled that call. So I started typing my chart when the tones went off again around 16:45 hours for CO Posioning down in Halifax Township with multiple patients. 6-5 got a refusal on the call in Williamstown and started heading down to Halifax to help us. Once on the scene down there, the tones then went off for syncope in Upper Paxton Township. 6-5 diverted to that call and 20-1 came down to assist on the Halifax call, along with Duncannon. All the patients ended up going out BLS and we sent out 8 people. We went available and headed back to Eville. We got back and we weren't in the station long when the tones went off for a sick person in Eville Borough. We got back in 6-8 and off we went. We got there and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then we contiuned back to the station. Once there I ate my lunch that I had packed which now had become my dinner and did my two charts on the computer. I then hosed both units down and drained the drain in the bay and then watched a little bit of TV. I laid down on the couch around 04:20 hours and the tones woke me up around 04:40 hours when the tones went off fo seizures in Washington Township. I got up and got the stuff on my belt and got my boots back on and then we got in 6-8 and off we went. After we got on the scene we got the guy loaded up and took him down to Osteo. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. I stopped at Sheetz and got something to eat for breakfast and then we continued back to the station. Once there I decided to just stay up as it was already 07:00 hours. So I got on the computer to check a few things. Jim then came in and then John came in and I clocked out and after talking for a little bit I left and headed on home as I was tired. The guy from Troutman's was able to come down yesterday to give me an estimate on the car, but unfortantly I was out on a call. When I did get to talk to him I was shocked at the estimate until he explained that there are no aftermarket parts yet for the car, so everything was new and coming from GM. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get some sleep. I woke up around 13:50 hours when LeeAnn called my cell phone to see if I could come up to Jean's house to take a look at my Santa chair and I said sure. So I got up and changed into street clothes and headed up to Jean's house. I got there and we discussed a few things and then LeeAnn and Katina took that chair back to the hall and I went back to help. Once there we took the chair in and talked for a little bit and then I left and headed on home. Once at home I read the paper and then got on the computer to print off the pictures of the Squad while I ate dinner. After I was done eating dinner I headed up to the fire hall to work on the poster of the progress done on the Squad for Bubba. While I was up there I helped Lonny unload three filing cabinets and then I helped Bubba load fruit up in his car. I then had to run into Giant and pick up some glue and I got a few other things while I was there. After I got ths stuff I headed back out to the station and finished the poster and then Bubba came in fomr finishing dilvering his fruit. We talked for a little bit and then he left to go home. I asked him where to put the sand bags and he said on the table down in the station, which I did and then headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

The Car

I went to bed last night around 03:30 hours and got up this morning around 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch and then read the paper. I then went downstairs and did my 5 miles on the exercise bike. I then changed into street clothes and headed into town to do a few things. I stopped at the bank and cashed my check and then stopped at the Post Office and picked up two books of stamps, one for me and one for my mother. I then went and got my 1-1/2 hour massage. Once I was done there, I stopped at Beer and Soda Plus and picked up a case of beer as a back up for the Christmas party incase we run out. I then headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. Andy then called me while I was eating dinenr, around 17:50 hours and I told him I would be up in about 20 minutes after I was done eating dinner. I then left and headed up to the fire house to get Andy those pictures from the structure fire in Millersburg from last week. As I pulled into the grass parking area behind the station to park where I normally park, I hit the brakes and made my right hand turn, but the car didn't turn and it wasn't stopping. I ended up hitting the oil tank and then the back of the fire house. Andy was inside and came out to see what happened. I had already backed up and was out looking at the front of my car. I was kind of hoping that nothing happened to it, but that was only wishful thinking. I had some damage done to the driver's side front fender, and the driver's side of the front bumper. White brought a flash light out so we could look at the damage. I am really upset as I have only made two car payments on the car and haven't even had it 3 months yet, and I already had an accident with it. I ended up slidding on the leaves and the mud from the ground as it thawed out since it got so warm today. I went inside and got Andy the pictures and then I left and headed on home after going out and checking the oil tank again. Once at home I told my mother and we went out and looked at it. I told her I was going to call Troutman's from work tomrrow and see if I can stop Thursday morning after work and have them give me an estimate on it. I then took a shower and then my father got home and I tokd him about it and took him outside and showed him. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

New Secretary

I went to bed Saturday night around 02:30 hours and got up Sunday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my suitcase and digital camera and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottles together. I then left the house around 07:26 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and picked up a Sunday paper and then continued to the station. When I got there I noticed that 6-4 was gone and that Stutzman's truck was parked out back, so I knew that they hadn't found a medic for the day shift in Eville. So I parked and grabbed my stuff and headed inside. Stutzman was in the day room and I made to the comment to him that I guess they didnt find a medic for the day shift and he said no. I then clocked in and put my stuff in the fridge. I then asked him where Zach and Tim were and he said down in Millersburg. Millersburg then went enroute with Tim to Harrisburg Hospital. Kuntz then called the Eville station and told Stutzman that Jim was coming in to do the day shift which didn't please Stutzman that much. When Stutzman hung up I asked him what station Jim was coming into and he said Lykens. I made the comment that Tim was not going to be to happy as he was supposed to be working a 24 up in Lykens, as Wertz was coming in that night to start a backwards 36. So Stutzman was getting ready to leave when Zach got back and we talked for a little bit and then Stutzman left and headed up to Lykens. I then did a quick rig check on 6-4 and while I was doing that, Zach left. I then came in and ate breakfast while I filled out the proper form on the computer and checked a few other things. While I was doing this, 13 got hit to go to SLV for a fall victim. Tim then called and said he was ready to be picked up and to meet him at Sheetz. As I was pulling out of the station, 13 went enroute to the hospital. I got down to Sheetz and picked Tim up and then we headed back up to Eville. We went available as we went past Hoffman's and 13 got on right away and asked if we were still in Halifax and we said outside of Fisherville. They came back and said that they were going to need Tim. So I turned around at Gonder's and headed back into the High School to meet them. While we were heading there, the tones went off for an unconscious person in Eville Borough that the Lykens crew ended up taking. They were not parked at the High School, but below the High School, along the side of the road. Tim ended up going down with them to Osteo. I then ran up to Sheetz and got two chicken biscuit's for breakfast and then stopped at Shell and got fuel and then headed on back up to the station. Once there I tired to start 6-3 again and once again it was dead, so I put it on the battery charger again and then went in and ate my breakfast from Sheetz. Tim then called a little later and asked why I didn't pick him up and I asked him if he was at Sheetz yet and he said yes and to just pick him up at 13's station. So I got in 6-4 and off I went to 13's station. I got there and they weren't there yet, and then they pulled in about 5 minutes later. I helped move his gear over and then we left and headed back up to Eville. Once there I helped Tim restock and then I sat down and read the Sunday paper. Tim then laid down in the men's bunk room and I got on the computer and did a few things while I ate lunch. It was quiet the rest of the day with no calls. Wertz then came in around 19:50 hours and the three of us talked and Tim took his time leaving to head up to Lykens as he was still pissed at Jim for screwing him over. Once Tim left I said to Wertz about running up to Jo-Jo's to get something to eat and he said that he already ate. So I put an order in at Jo-Jo's and 20 minutes later we headed on up and I got my food and Wertz got a few things from over at Koppy's. We then headed back to the station and once there I ate dinner while I watched TV. Then around 21:20 hours the tones went off for a class 3 call in Lykens Township that the Lykens crew handeled. They ended up going to Pottsville. Then around 21:45 hours the tones went off for a fall victim, class 2 in Upper Paxton Township with us in place of Company 20. Me and Wertz got in 6-4 and off we went. We got down there and it ended up being a refusal and then we headed back to the station. Once there I finished watching my TV show and then did my chart around 24:00 hours. I then laid down in the BLS room around 01:05 hours and went to sleep. I woke up this morning at 07:45 hours when the alarm on my cell phone went off. I got up and got the stuff back on my belt and got my boots on and put my pillow away and then took my suitcase out into the day room. I then got my stuff out of 6-4 and then got on the computer to check a few things. I then heard Zach clock in and he took his stuff out to 6-4 and then went back into the day room. Wertz was still sleeping on the couch and I gave my report to Zach and then left to head on home. I stopped at Swab's to see if they had done anything new to the body and they hadn't so I left and headed on home. Once at home I changed into my pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 12:00 hours. I got out of bed and ate lunch while I read the paper. I then went outside and got the mail and then rode my 5 miles on the exercise bike downstairs. My mother then came home and I helped her bring some things in and then we talked. I then ate dinner while I did a few things online and watched MASH on TV. I then changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house around 18:00 hours. I got up there and went into the station and did my medical bag checks on the trucks and then headed up to the hall. LeeAnn and Katina pulled in as I was walking up to the hall. I went in and turned the heat up right away and then took the chairs off of the tables while LeeAnn and Katina put the wrapping paper back up on the back wall around the tree. The meeting went very fast and I am now the new Secretary for the fire company and the relief association. We were done with both of those meetings by 19:40 hours, which I think is a new record for us. They then had the fire police meeting and I left there around 21:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

A Day of Cardaic Problems

I went to bed Thursday night around 01:30 hours and got up Friday morning at 07:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then grabbed my suitcase and digital camera and took them out to the kitchen. I then packed my lunch and got my Gatorade bottles together. I then left the house around 07:40 hours (I left kind of late) and headed on up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and got a paper and a pack of Lance crackers and then headed to the station. I got there and parked and grabbed my stuff and headed inside. Once inside I clocked in and then put my lunch box and Gatorade bottles in the fridge and then did a quick rig check on 6-4. That was when I noticed that the grate at the front of the bays was filled with water. I then went in and got on the computer to fill out the proper form and that was when Yeager told me that they washed the rig inside yesterday and that the little sump pump that we have, doesn't work. He also said that 6-3 was dead the day before for him and he had to put it on the charger to get it started. Him and Wertz then left and then Flipper said about going up to Special Place around 08:30 hours. So we got in 6-4 and headed up to Special Place. We got there and ordered awhile and then the Lykens crew of Stutzman and Fathead came in and then we all ate breakfast. After breakfast me and Flipper headed up to Wal-Mart so he could get a perscription filled. I got some Sharpie markers and then once Flipper got his medicaiton, we headed back to the Eville station. Once there I read the paper and then I went outside to see if 6-3 would start. It was dead again, so I put it on the battery charger. They also had 6-2 parked outside running as the new 6-1 was sitting in the bay so the graphic's guy could fix the stipping on it. Just as I put 6-3 on the charger, the tones went off for chest pains at the Doctor's office in Elizabthville Borough. I went inside and grabbed my jacket and then we got in 6-4 and off we went. We got on the scene and got the guy loaded up and took him down to Harrisburg Hospital. While we were on the scene, the tones went off again for abdominal pains, class 3 in Lykens Township. The Lykens crew took that and they ended up going to Evan. After we got what we needed down there, we headed on back. As we were coming down the north side of the mountain, Halifax got hit to head to Millersburg for a class 3 call. Flipper wanted me to head down 147 towards Millersburg so that when 13 didn't get out right away and then we could take the call. I told him that 13 would have a crew and would most likely get out. So I took 225 to head back to Eville. As we were passing Pizza Delight, they hit our tones and I decided to turn around at Bunker Hill Road and Flipper saw the crew for 13 walking towards the ambulance and he said that we could contine back to the station. So we headed on back and once back I ate lunch while I checked on a few things online. I had finished eating lunch and was checking a few things online, when the tones went off for a sick person, class 2 in Jackson Township on White Oak Road. We got in 6-4 and off we went. We got on the scene and I grabbed the BLS bag and we headed on up the flight of stairs outside and then up another flight of stairs inside to the house to the guys wife, laying on her back in the bathroom. When I came up the steps, she looked very pale to me. I started talking to her and Flipper checked her pulse and said he couldn't feel a radial pulse. So I handed him the BP Cuff and her BP was 60. He then turned to me and told me to go get the monitor and med bag and bring them in. So I went down and grabbed them and brought them in. He then did a 12 lead on her and said that she was having an MI. So I set up a 1,000 bag of NSS for him and then went back out and got the stretcher out and set up and then grabbed the Reeves and a sheet and took them back inside. Flipper tried to talk the lady and her husband into having her flown by Life Lion, but the husband didn't think it would save any time, and his wife agreed with him. Later Flipper said that he thought if the husband wasn't there, she would have agreed to the chopper. So we got her loaded up into the Reeves and got her down and loaded up into the ambulance and then I made my way out of the State Game Lands. Once I hit the main road, I went class 1 down to Harrisburg Hospital. As I was passing Shell, I saw Bubba getting ready to pull out and I waved at him. After we got what we needed at Harrisburg Hospital, we headed on back. I stopped at Sheetz and got chicken strips to eat for dinner and Flipper got a sandwich and then I stopped at Shell and got fuel and then we headed on back to Eville. As we were coming down pasr Deppen Park, the tones went off again, for chest pains in Upper Paxton Township. I turned around at Bunker Hill Road again and I put us available and responding and off we went. We got there first and then 20-1 showed up a few minutes later. I helped get the lady loaded up and then they headed on down to Harrisburg Hospital and I headed on back to the Eville station. Once there I ate dinner and got Flipper's supplies. While I was eating, the tones went off for bleeding at SLV and the Lykens crew ended up handling that call. I then left and headed on down to Sheetz to pick Flipper up. Once I picked him up, we headed back to the Eville station. Once back there I helped him restock and then I took the ALS gear out of 6-2 and moved it outside. I then moved 6-1 in and went to work getting the BLS gear on it so it could be licensed. I finally finished up with that around 22:30 hours with that and moved the squads around and put the ALS gear back in 6-2 and then got on the computer to play some Texas Hold 'Em Poker and relax. Flipper went to bed around 23:30 hours on the blue couch out in the day room. I went to bed around 01:30 hours back in the BLS room. I woke up at 07:45 hours when the alarm on my cell phone went off. I got up and then the tones went off for Dalmatia for a structure fire in Jordon Township. I got the stuff on my belt and then put my pillowcase away and took my suitcase out to the day room. I then got my gear out of 6-4 and then ate my breakfast from yesterday while I checked a few things online. The tones then went off for a BLS unit from Company 6 to assist at the structure fire. I then left and headed on home. Shortly before I left work, my mother called me and told me to park in front of my father as she had to take April up to the vets at 09:45 hours this morning. Once at home I talked to my mother and found out that April was having some blood in her urine. I said that it might be a UTI and that I wanted to go along with her up to the vets. I then changed into pj's and laid down in bed to get a little sleep. I then got up at 09:20 hours when my mother woke me up. While I got dressed, my father helped my mother get April in her cage and then we left. We think it is a UTI, we have to try and get a urine sample to the vets for them to test along with blood work then. Once back at home I changed back into my pj's and went back to bed to get some more sleep. I woke up this afternoon at 16:00 hours, went to the bathroom and went back to bed and woke up a second time at 17:00 hours. I got out of bed and put my dinner in the oven and then read the paper. I then ate dinner while I watched some College Football on TV. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I found out that Flordia knocked off No. 1 Alabama amd Oklahoma is currenlty leading Missouri. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk ot me, just give me a buzz.

Loads of Fruit

I went to bed last night around 03:30 hours and was back up at 06:10 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and ate something small for breakfast. I then changed into street clothes and headed up to the fire house around 06:30 hours. I pulled in and Bubba and Lonny were standing outside talking. Bubba then asked me to grab one of the small quartz lights that used to be on the Engine and a long extenstion cord and bring it up to our trailer. Shortly there after the fruit truck showed up and we got up in our trailer and laidt he docking plate down and then moved our 7 skids of fruit over into our trailer. Just as we finished moving the skids, Dave showed up. We then started sorting through the fruit and then Jean showed up and then Jason showed up so that there were six of us doing the sorting. Bill then showed up and took some pictures and then he ran in and got me and Lonny something to eat for breakfast. Once we were done sorting the fruit, we started making orders out. Jean had her husband come down and pick her order up and then she left. I then loaded my entire order up into my car and then Lyle came and got his around 13:00 hours. as did Katina. By that time we had all the orders sorted out. I then left around 13:39 hours and headed into town to drop off the 15 cases at Tab's and then from there I ran up to Sheezt and got gas and then after trying to locate Viv, found her at he shed, and dropped her half case off and then dropped Jody's half case off and we talked a little and then I headed on home. Once at home I brought in my remaining three full cases (1 for my mother and the other two for delivery next friday night at the County Booster Meeting at Chambers Hill. I then talked to my mother some and then started falling asleep in the chair, so I went back to my room and laid down in bed to take a nap. My mother then woke me up when dinner was ready and I ate that while I watched MASH on TV. I then took a shower and then packed my lunch for work tomorrow. I am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.

More Play Time at a Structure Fire

I left the house last night around 19:10 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I got there and parked and went inside and put my Gatorade bottle in the fridge and then clocked in. Zach and Dean were still there. I then did a rig check on 6-4 and then checked the ALS and BLS Supplies and put a small order in. Kuntz then came in as my medic over night and I played Texas Hold-Em Poker on the computer. Then around 21:00 hours the tones went off for a CVA in Upper Paxton Township. We got in 6-4 and off we went. Kuntz ended up going down with 20 and I headed back to the station and played some more poke until I heard them go arriving at Osteo and then I made my way down to Sheetz in Halifax. I then got some chicken strips and then talked to Bubba and Bill until 20 got back and I then helped Kuntz move his gear over and then we went available and headed back to the station. Once back there I helped Kuntz restock and then I ate my chicken strips while I went back to playing poker on the computer. Kuntz then went to bed around 00:30 hours and I watched TV until 03:00 hours and then I laid down on the couch and went to sleep. I woke up at 07:40 hours when Kathy sent me a text message and then she called me and said she was going to be running about 15 minutes late and I said that was fine. I got up awhile and got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and then got my stuff out of the unit. Jim then came in and then Kathy came in and I gave her my rig report and then we talked for a little bit and then I left and headed to Swab's. Once at Swab's I took a few pictures of the body now that it has the rough wiring complete to it. I then left and headed on home. Once at home I talked to my mother some and then I changed into pj's and went back to bed to get a little more sleep. I woke up around 11:30 hours and I got out of bed and ate lunch and read the paper. I had finished eating lunch and was just now reading the paper when at 12:19 hours the pager went off for a structure fire in Upper Paxton Township and the Tanker and Engine were both due. I ran back to my room and kicked my slippes off and got socks and my jeans on. I then grabbed my wallet, pager and cell phone, got my shoes on and then grabbed my keys and got in my car and took off for the fire house. I pulled in and Bubba was just going in the front door of the station. I parked and then ran into the fire house and kicked my shoes off as Bubba started the Tanker up. I then got my bunker pants on and then grabbed my jacket and helmet. I sat my helmet on the dashboard in the Tanker as Bubba was getting in and I told him I would get the bay door. As he pulled out Schoffstall pulled in and as I went out the front door, I saw Ray was there also. I then got in the Tanker and off we went. I initally started to get my mask on and then Bubba said that I was with him unless they were going to need man power. So I put the mask back. By the time we got to the borough, the Engine went responding with 5, which was Jason (driving), Dave, Ray, Eric, and Schoffstall. As we were turning on to 147, command reduced everything that wasn't already on the scene to class 3. We got on scene and pulled in behind Tanker 26 and then Dave called in to Command and asked for an assignment and command said that they wanted their manpower to the scene. Bubba then told me to go ahead and pack up, which I did and I also grabbed the multi-purpose hook off of the Tanker and went to the man power pool with the Engine crew and gave my tag to Chief 28 who was in charge of the man power pool. By the time we got there, they had a good knock on the fire, but only a 1/3 of the house was left standing. Here come to find out it is one of Bubba's cousin's house. We stood in the man power pool for I would say close to half and hour and then Mike Wertz decided to use us. While we were waiting in the manpower pool, I think the most exciting part was when the oil tank vented through the fill pipe in the front of the structure. They wanted to tear down the exterior walls and wanted to use us as we still had packs on and it was going to get smokey. So we used 10 foot pike poles and pulled down the remaining walls so they could wet everything down. Then we went up to rehab and got our cylinders filled and then command said that we were released. Bubba decided to go back on the Engine so he could get ready to go to work. Jason then became my driver as the Tanker was still suppling Tanker 20 at the time. Once we filled Tanker 20, we went to the fill site and got filled and then went available. The Engine had already gone available like 20 minutes earlier. We then ran into Shell and got fuel and then headed back out to the station. Once there I got out of my bunker gear and got my shoes back on and then cleaned my mask and wiped down the SCBA and the multi-purpose hook, even though I didn't use it, it had mud on the end of it. While I cleaned my mask we all shot the shit, including Lonny who had stopped on his way home from work. They all then left while I was wiping down the SCBA. Once everything was dry ,I put it away and then headed on home. Once at home I got on the computer to update the website and then ate dinner while I watched MASH on TV. I then left around 17:30 hours and headed up to the fire hall for bingo tonight. Bingo was very light tonight and we had to lower our payouts to $10.00. Bingo went ok, considering the light crowd. Once bingo was over, myself and Troy helped Lonny load the docking plate and pallet jack in the trailer for the fruit that is coming today and then we left and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

I then changed into street clothes and headed into Halifax to do a few things. I ran up to the bank and cashed my check and then ran down to KAYNAN to pick up the gift certificate for the christmas party and I schedulded a massage for next week. I then headed on home. Once at home I got online and did a few things and I then ate dinner while I finished up 0nline. I then headed up to the firehouse around 17:00 hours to help Katina and Lonny with decorating the hall for Christmas. When I got there, the tree was already up and decorated. I then helped get some garland untangles and we hung some up around the windows into the kitchen. We then had the fund raiser meeting and once that was over, we finsihed putting up some more decorations. I left the hall around 22:00 hours and headed on home. Once at home I took a shower and am soon going to bed as I am tired.

Hooters

I went to bed last night around 03:10 hours and got up this morning at 11:30 hours. I got out of bed and took a shower and then changed into street clothes and headed on up to the fire house for Boyd's Bear Bingo. I got there and most og Bubba's relative's were still at the hall and they were finishing up breakfast. I had a few biscuits that were sitting there while I moved some things around in the bingo room to get ready for Boyd's Bear Bingo. Bingo was ok, we had about an average crowd on hand and I think we did pretty good. After bingo was over, there was an Executive Meeting to discuss the building. While they were having the meeting, Katina and myself ran into Dollar General to get Christmas decorations for the hall and then once back out we went down into the fire house and talked until Bubba called me and said that we could come back in as they were done with the meeting. Then myself, Bubba, Lonny, Jess, Brian, Robin, Doug Landis, Jaz, and Jeffery went down to Hooters for dinner to celebrate Bubba's birthday. I had cheese sticks, fries and a chesseburger. We then left and headed on back up home. We dropped Doug off at his car at Giant and then headed back out to the hall. I then got in my car and headed on home around 22:50 hours. Once at home I talked to my mother some and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
