The end of 2008
Well another year has come and gone and once again it is time for my annual reflection on the year month by month.
January saw me start working full time at Medic 6 after working part time for 6 months.
February saw the 6 of us at the fire house start review classes for Firefighter 1.
March continued the FF1 review courses and the plans for the new building started to take some shape.
April saw me successfully take and pass my FF1 written and practical test.
May naturally saw me turn 23 at the end of the month and we had a very successful scrap day also at the end of the month at the fire house.
June saw the Dauphin County Volunteer Firemen's Convention where I was voted in as Senior Vice-President and Wiconisco also agreed to host the 2010 Convention.
July saw one of the best Festival's I have seen since I started in the fire company, it also saw me take and pass Pump Ops 1.
August saw the Halifax Carnival which was another successful money making venture for us with the candy wheel and the four-wheeler.
September saw the New Jersey State Firemen's Convention where we all had a good time and the end of the month saw me purchase a brand new car.
October would mark the start of the construction of the new Squad for the fire company and also marked the down hill turn for my Grandmother.
November was a sad month with the passing of my Grandmother at the beginning of the month and Thanksgiving was hard on us all without her.
December saw me damage my new car by sliding into the oil tank at the fire house. It also saw me get 4 awards at the Fire Company Christmas Party. It also saw me be voted in as the new Secretary for the fire company and the Firemen's Releif. Again Christmas and now New Years's was and is going to be hard on everyone without Grandma.
As I look foward into 2009 there are some things I see in the future. 2009 will see me take on the task of being the Secretary, the completion of the Squad, hopefully breaking ground on the new building, become President of the County Firemen's Association, continuing my full time job at Medic 6, and hopefully finding my sinificant other.
And now on to my regular blog. I left the house last night around 19:15 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and grabbed a soda and something to munch on while I watched the bowl game between Oklahoma State and Oregon. I then headed to the station. When I got there they were out on a call. So I parked and took my stuff inside and put my stuff in the fridge and clocked in. I then checked and restocked suppled and then put an order in. I then sat down and started watching the football game. Zach and Bowser then got back from their call and I did a quick rig check on 6-4 and then went back to watching the game. Oregon beat Oklahoma State. I then watched the Discovery Channel until 03:00 hours and then I went back into the BLS room and laid down to try and get some sleep. I didn't actually fall asleep until around 04:30 hours and I got up at 07:45 hours when the alarm on my cell phone went off. I got up and got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and then took my suitcase out to the day room and then got my stuff out of 6-4 and took them into the day room also. Kathy then came in and I clocked out and then I gave her the report on 6-4 and then we talked for a little bit. I then left and stopped at Swab's to see if they had done anything to the body yet, and they haven't resumed construction on it yet as they have other things they have to get done before they go back to working on our body. I then went over into the paint shop to look at this Hahn that Bubba has been talking about. It is very nice looking, and this is coming from a Mack man. I then left Swab's and headed on home. As I was coming down our street my mother called me to see where I was at and I told her I was getting ready to pull into the driveway. She said that Troutman's called and me car was ready. So I took my stuff inside and then left and headed up to Millersburg to pick up my car. I got there and looked over my car first before I headed in to pay for it. I then got in my car and headed on home. Once at home I changed into pj's and went back to bed. I got up this afternoon around 13:30 hours and I got out of bed and read the paper. I then got on the computer and played Emergency 3 some more again today. I ate dinner while I played and watched another bowl game on TV. Then around 18:40 hours the tones went off for a transformer arching in the township. I yelled to my father to get dressed since I knew quite a few people went out to Indiana and we were going to need a driver. I got my jeans and shoes on and grabbed my jacket and then got in my car and headed to the station. I got up there and Schoffstall was already there and I parked beside him and went in the station. He was just finishing getting his bunker gear on when I came in. I kicked my shoes off and told him that my father was coming so we were going to have a driver. So he went over and started the Engine up and then opened the Engine bay door. My father then pulled up and he came in and Schoffstall said that he would close the bay door. So I told my fold my father to pull out and wait on the ramp to see if anyone else was going to show up. I realized it had been quite some time since they had redispatched us and I thought that they forgot to redispatch us so I told him to just go ahead and I put us responding. We got on the scene and it was by the Armstrong Bible Church again. Jean was already there when we pulled in and then Ray, Andy, Jason, and House and Michelle came in after us. We basically baby sat it until PP&L showed up shortly after we told county that we were heading back. Jason sent my father and Schoffstall back with the Engine about 10 minutes before PP&L showed up so the pump wouldn't freeze on it. Jason gave me a ride back to the station since Lonny had all of his shit in the passenger's seat of the Utility. When we got back my father was just backing the Engine back into the station. I went in and took my bunker gear off and Jason filled out a run sheet. We all then left and headed on home. Once at home I started watching the Peach Bowl. I then took a shower during half time and then watched the end of it. Not really an exciting bowl game as LSU blew Geogoria Tech out of the water. I then setteled in and waited until midnight to ushed in 2009. So I am now hitting the old email and suring the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!
