The Unit Shuffle
I went to bed Thursday night around 02:45 hours and got up Friday morning at 06:50 hours when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and got dressed and then got everything together and left the house around 07:05 hours and headed up to Eville to go to work. I stopped at Koppy's and then swung by Swab's. They had the shelves in the back compartment on the driver's side, the suction hose slot, and the compartment for the generator. I then headed to the Eville station. I got there and parked and took my stuff inside and clocked in and put what I needed to into the fridge. Yeager was out in the bay when I took my stuff out and he gave me a report. I then did a rig check on 6-7 and filled out the proper forms while eating breakfast. I then read the paper until we got a call in Halifax Township for chest pains. I ran Tim down there and he went down to the hospital with 13. I then ran back up to the Eville station and once there I went back to reading the paper. The Lykens crew then got a call in Lykens and then shortly after that the tones went off for a phsyc. in Washington Township. Boyer had just gotten back about 2 minutes after they dispatched it and said that me and him could take it, so I said ok. So we took that call and he took me down to Harrisburg Hospital. After we got what we needed, we headed on back. Once back at the station, Wertz and Matt were there and we talked to them about 6-8 and how it is leaking exhaust. So we decided to put it out of service. Boyer had me and Tim run 6-5 up to Lykens. Tim took 6-5 and I drove 6-7. We switched the trucks around and then got talking and then Jim Hoffman came in and he mentioned about our Tanker being over at New Buffalo's station on a stand-by. My pager didn't go off because I was in the back of 6-7 on front street heading for the hospital. Boyer then called up and said that me and Tim should start heading back down as it sounded like we might get called to Northumberland County for a call. This time took 6-8 while I again drove 6-7. We didn't even make it out of Lykens when the tones went off for the call. Tim pulled over by the Shell station and got in with me and off we went. We got in Gratz and Dalmatia placed us in service. So I turned around and took Tim back to 6-8. I had talked to Bubba after I left the Lykens station and he said that they got the chassis lettered. Tim said he was going to stop at Wal-Mart to get something to eat. I took that opportunity to swing by Swab's and get a few pictures of the chassis which was now sitting outside. I then headed back to the station. Once there I ate lunch and did my chart on the physc. The tones then went off around 17:30 hours for chest pains in Halifax Township. I once again ran Tim down to the scene and he rode down with 13. While we were on the scene there, the tones went off again for an overdose in Eville Borough. Wertz and Matt took that call. I then made a quick stop at Giant and picked up some iced tea and ran them home and then stopped up at the fire hall to help make some subs. Tim then called and said he was getting a ride back with Wertz and Matt. I then headed back to the station and they got back shortly after I did. The four of us then went up to Jo-Jo's tp eat dinner. I had two slices of cheese pizza and a side order of fries. Me and Tim then headed back and he went to bed around 22:00 hours. I then moved 6-1 out and backed 6-3 in and tagged everything on that truck. I then moved it out and put the stretcher and stair chair from 6-8 into 6-3 and then moved 6-1 back in and put 6-3 beside the station so that it can run as second due. I then talked to Bubba for awhile and then finally laid down on the couch around 03:00 hours. I woke up around 05:00 hours when Lykens got a call, and then again at 07:00 hours and Fortney came in. I then woke up around 08:00 hours when John came in and I got up and got the stuff back on my belt and put my pillow away and then gave him my report. I then left around 08:20 hours and headed on home. Once at home I changed into street clothes and then headed up to the fire hall to get subs to sell door to door. Schoffstall called me and said that they had sat subs and money out for me and that they were heading out awhile. I sold in town and when I did 225 in town I parked at the church and the one time I went back to sit in my car and warms my hands up, I saw Jess come up to the intersection. She pulled in the parking lot and we talked for a few minutes and then she headed into town to get jaz some McDonald's. I then finished up town, then went and got some more subs and did the development back off of Tourist Park Road, along with Tourist Park Road and then did 225 back to town. I had to run back to the station one more time and I picked up the last 25 subs and went out to finish 225, but I only sold 10 to 12 more subs. I got back and Katina was the only one there and I gave her my money, and I bought 4 more subs myself, and ate one there. I then talked with Katina for a little bit and then I did a few things on the computer and Bubba stopped up in and we talked for a few minutes. I then got two more subs for my father and then left around 15:30 hours and headed on home. Once at home I ate dinner and updated the township website. I then took a shower and am now getting ready to hit the old email and surf the net. I will be on late tonight so if any sexy ladies want to talk to me, just give me a buzz.
